I'll probably be rather slow today and most of tomorrow, so feel free to bot Elká when she's holding up combat. Got some social events to attend and am rocking a terrible headache -_- great combination, thanks body.

There are doors to the northwest and southwest that you have yet to explore.

Heading out for the day, will post again later tonight.

Shame it was powered by undead, and therefore anathema to Gabriella - it would have been a useful tool for keeping our dhampirs topped up on hit points!

Barring the philosophical issues, that would have been an interesting exploit - perpetual healing for the twins?

It only zaps you once per target. :P

Gameplay post coming in 10-15 minutes or so.

When has something like that ever gone wrong?

Oh wait...

Ah, crap. Well done us for releasing the bound horror :/

That shouldn't come back to bite us...

Where was I going with this?

Heh. I was half-expecting this comment:
Eldarel Japhol wrote:
Ellie blinks at the accusation. "We haven't defiled anything!"

To get a "Speak for yourself!" retort from one of the twins. But maybe that was just too obvious.

Game Concluded

Oh, the twins would never defile anything. Although, I think Allie has been eyeing Ellie with a hungry look. That wouldn't be defilement, though. Rude perhaps, but not defilement. ;p

I will be out most of the day again. Sporadic updates.

I assure you it would entirely pleasurable for all concerned! And its only defilement if Ellie's never done it before! ;)

Yeah, the Terrible Two have managed to thoroughly freak Ellie out; for the time being, she's keeping a (polite) distance.

Coming back to the subject of oracle curses: Alessandra doesn't seem to do much in terms of ranged combat - have you considered the Blind curse? Limited vision range is a bit sucky, but Blindsight at later levels could be very useful indeed.

RETIRED - ascended to godhood.

'The Terrible Two' - I like this!

Maybe Blind... I need to have another look and actually make my mind up soon. The question will be about spell range mostly, if I go blind then there's not much point in taking any long-range spells, which might limit my versatility quite a bit...

I might be able to cover that base depending on what spells you'd be considering. Evocation is one of my opposed schools (other is conjuration), so I can't deal much damage. Apart from Necromancy, I do plan to use a fair number of enchantment spells for combat.

Devon thanks you for the shoutout, Ellie. :)

It just struck me that Ellie is exactly the sort of person who would have read all of those reports as part of her studies.

Max HP right? :) (I assume its 1/2 HD+1?)

1/2 + 1, yes.

RETIRED - ascended to godhood.

Also, are we using background skills or not? We have done in some of your games but you didn't say either way so I wanted to check! :)

I took Death's Embrace as my revelation, which gives me Improved Grapple (which I already have) so I traded it for Improved Dirty Trick (which I meet the pre-reqs for as required).

Not going with clouded vision since until 10th level it grants no benefits at all! (Already have 60ft DV!) Looking at Hunger (although sickened is not a fun penalty :/) or Wrecker for the curse I think. Anyone got thoughts on that either way?

Also picked up Infernal Healing (Vampire blood anyone?) so that I can do some curative stuff for you squishy mortal types!

Aside from the Curse I'm fully levelled up - now we just have to explain how she manifests all these new powers!

Yes, we are. Itzi asked a few posts down on the first discussion page, to which I responded in the affirmative. ;)

Yay! So at this rate we'll be 20th level by the end of the year, right? :-)

EDIT: Levelling up

+1 BAB
+1 Fort save
+8 hit points
+5 skills (knowledge arcana, religion, planes, dungeoneering, nature)
+2 background skills (linguistics, knowledge history)

Skill Over Strength (Ex): At 2nd level, a lore warden qualifies for feats and other abilities as though she had the Combat Expertise feat. At 6th level, she gains Combat Expertise as a bonus feat, even if she would not normally qualify for the feat. If she already has Combat Expertise, she instead gains any one combat feat that includes Combat Expertise as a prerequisite (and for which she otherwise qualifies). At 10th level, she can treat her base attack bonus as though it were 2 higher for the purpose of calculating the effects of Combat Expertise.

I will give Elka and Ulrich time to react to the situation before I move things any further along.

Am busy reading and catching up as I type!

Should I pick the trapfinder trait now that I can? I have no idea as to how useful it will be, but it might be nice to have someone with disable device in the group. If I don't pick it now, I can pick it up at level four.

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Not having a rogue-type character could bite us in the behind later.

Plus, the alternative is picking up a ranger combat style feat and I don't think we're especially needing even more damage ;)

I'll post a leveling up overview in a little.

@Gabi - that's fine, it's not like Ellie was being particularly quiet (although I suspect that the air of the Boneyard tends to deaden sound - pun definitely not intended)

EDIT: just to agree with the others: taking trapfinder is a good move, I think :-)

I'm going to be getting a kind of disable device too so I can help out - not on magical traps though.

I will get one more post up tonight before I go to bed in a few hours.

Guys I'm going to have to leave this game. I just can't keep up enough to have anything than a mute, mule character. I think the game and the characters are all fascinating, but I'm not part of it.

RETIRED - ascended to godhood.

I'm sure we can slow down Doc, I know I'm more guilty than most about posting a lot so I can pull back if that helps. It'd be a real shame to lose you!

Game Concluded

Each person has their own pace, Ulrich. Sorry we pushed it a little fast for you. :( If it means anything, we'll probably be slowing down now that the initial rush is past.

~~~
For everyone else, I'll be putting up posts latter today than normal. Emergency dental visit this morning. Yeah, you all wanted to know that. ;) I can see you cringing already.
Same here. I apologize for the pace thus far. I have a lot of downtime in the mornings at work and can respond quickly, which can lead to cascading posts if other players are active, especially outside of combat. I would rather slow down than lose you as a player, if you're willing to stick around.
Same here! I've been finding it easy to build on other people's posts, which has obviously cascaded. I'm happy to slow it down if that will help.
@Gabby: ouch >.< Hope it goes well!
Dhampir at the dentist - never going to end well!
