Jack Daniels's Untitled Campaign

Hmm...a little saddened that Samsaran cannot be played as they are uncommon. But I'll give this more thought. The whole past lives things ties well into this campaign surprisingly imo.

Probably just fall back on one of my favorite races, Tiefling.

I'll start working on something. I'm thinking Ranger/Inquisitor. Not sure if there are any archetypes I'd be looking at.

Could you please roll for me as well? Going a standard spawn Tiefling. Putting the finishing touches on my backstory and build. I should have them up tomorrow.

Do we get the mythic bonus from the campaign traits since we are using gestalt to replace mythic?

You can sense weakness, granting you a +1 bonus on all rolls to confirm critical hits.

You get the bonus listed in the description in the Player's Guide for the campaign trait.

I present Stolen Snowfall, or Snow as he commonly goes by. This character was all over the place from Alchemist to Wizard. Ultimately I decided to have some fun with the whip and went with Magus(Bladebound, Kensai)/ Warpriest(Cult Leader).

Backstory:

Snow’s first memories are of anger and fear. Of being chained up, waiting for the demonic cultists to sacrifice him in their strange ritual, like the other children before him. However, Snow was not to share their fate. Something in the ritual went wrong. The energies failed to corrupt Snow’s soul, instead absorbing in to the Tiefling and awakening arcane power. This power allowed Snow to reach out, to call for help. A call answered by Hisoka, a servant of Calistria. In return for freedom, love, power, and revenge Hisoka offered Snow a partnership in service of The Savored Sting.

At Snow’s ready agreement, Hisoka was to the chains binding Snow, becoming his weapon and symbol of service to Calistria. The cultists were too busy attempting to rebalance the ritual to notice Snow free himself. Summing his new found power in to Hisoka, Snow lashed out, striking the leader of the cultists in the eye. As the leader cried out in pain, the energies of the ritual became unstable, leading to a massive explosion of power.

Snow was hurt in the explosion, but it gave him the chance he needed to escape. After fleeing, he was found by a group of Kellids on their way to Kenabres. They took Snow with them and, after hearing his tale, granted him his name “Stolen Snowfall”. A literal, pragmatic people the Kellids. Snow was raised in Kenabres by one of the many groups dedicated to caring for the city’s orphan population. He had a difficult childhood, never truely finding a place. His nights were also haunted by nightmares of the ritual. It wasn’t until he was older, still young, but older and on his own that he began to thrive.

The energies of the ritual bathed Snow’s very being. That and his connection with Hisoka allowed him command of both Arcane and Divine magic. He was also able to wield Hisoka with great ability, another testament to Calistria’s favor. This made him quite capable of being a tool for Calistria’s vengeance. Especially demons, whom he’d carried a special hatred forl. He was also fond of his goddess’ tenants towards indulgence, both of lust and knowledge. However, he was less fond and skilled of her command to spread her influence and Hisoka’s goal to gather followers. Snow was far better at insulting someone than carrying a pleasant conversation. The common misgivings or outright mistrust of his tiefling heritage by the population of Kenabres also did him no favors. Still, he did what he could; Changing his clergy clothing to resemble a jester and practising jokes in an attempt to be more appealing. Alas, these efforts tended to make him more intimidating to most.

That is not to say that his efforts were entirely in vain. His treatment of the city’s small prostitute population as honored servants of his goddess made him quite popular with the group. Most of the proper meals he ate came from them. His skill with spell and whip and ferocity towards demons earned him a true brother in arms status with many of the city’s crusaders. He also made most of his money helping citizens gain vengeance on those who had wronged them. Unfortunately, the case by case nature of these efforts limited their scope. A fact that Hisoka often complains of.

Still, after a time Snow actually began to feel he had earned a place. It had been several years since he had truly been scraping by. His efforts for the city and against demons were recognized, even if only by some. Snow was enjoying Armasse and feeling quite pleased with himself when a powerful explosion ripped through the air and shook the ground. It was quickly followed by several more blasts of powerful magic and the sounds of crumbling buildings. Before Snow was even able to get his bearings, demons began to flood the area.

Snow threw himself at the demonic hordes, joining with the rest of the cities defenders. The battle was truly over in several minutes, but lasted hours. Snow battled to the point of exhaustion. By the time the sun had began to set, he had expended all his magic and was barely able to move. It was a turn of luck that he survived. As he battled, the dark streets were briefly illuminated by a brilliant flash of magic striking one of the great winged demons flying through the sky. The demon cried and fell in its death throes, heading towards Snow.

Had it hit him head on, it would have killed Snow instantly. By the blessings of his Goddess, debris slowed its crash. Still, Snow was instantly knocked unconscious and thrust in to the exposed basement of a damaged building. Another stroke of luck saw the corpse of the demon block the opening, hiding Snow’s unconscious body from the demonic hordes.

By the time Snow awoke and was able to free himself from the basement, the sun had risen and the city had fallen. Moving carefully through the streets, he was able to make it to the Defenders Heart with minimal trouble. With the remaining survivors beginning to rally, his mind turns towards vengeance.

Personality:

Snow shares many traits with his goddess: Temperamental, passionate, indulgent, mischievous, humourous, and vengeful. While he is willing to quickly resolve or overlook petty affronts, he is unforgiving and merciless when seriously offended. Taking the “All slights against me will be repaid tenfold” code to heart. Despite this, he is not prone to escalation. A slight of words is responded with words, pranks with pranks, and violence with violence. Because of his temper at being offended, he takes care not to offend others. Being quick to apologize for even perceived slights. However he is deeply offended if his apology is not accepted. Though he takes care not to offend others, he does so only to a limited expense of his own desires.

Despite his vengeful nature, Snow’s life in Kenabres has deeply impacted him. For all his life he has known the preparation for war and the shadow of demonic attack. This has given him a strong sense of community and desire to to help those around him. The constant flow of ever-changing collections of crusaders has taught him to deeply value time spent with others, as it tends to be short and there will often never be another chance.

Appearance:

Snow stands tall with pale skin and a fairly toned physique. He wears black and and yellow silk clothing in Calistrian design but a harlequin fashion. Often with accompanying henna tattoos and gold jewelry. His tiefling heritage is evident from a distance. He has snow white hair, glowing yellow eyes, black horns sprouting from his forehead, fanged teeth, and a prehensile tail. Hisoka is a long metal chain which appears to be made from shadow. It has a black dragonskin handle wrap emblazoned with 3 yellow daggers in a spiral version of Calistria’s holy symbol.

I've got an Alchemist/Slayer I'm building, but it'll still be 2-3 days before I finish, probably. Silly work gets in the way of important stuff like gaming.

This is Iolaire, devotee of Shelyn. Everything is in the alias apart from how she got to the Defender's Heart, which is below.

Armasse:
Iolaire loved Armasse, the people, the colour, the sense of joy that pervaded the otherwise dour crusader city. This was the one time of year that the Crusades relaxed and really allowed themselves to bask in Shelyn's love. So of course she was there!

Not alone either. Since being taken in by the church when she and Lon-Dubh were brought in by Eridar Iolaire had always tried to reciprocate and had been working at the orphanage since her late teens. When Lon-Dubh left, tearing a hole in Iolaire's heart as he did so, the children at the orphanage helped to heal her, demanding songs and stories of the fantastical world 'beyond the corner of your eye' as Iolaire always described the First World.

"Io! Io! Can we get candy apples? Pleeeeeeeease?" A little girl begged, bouncing up and down in front of the bard with barely suppressed excitement.

"Of course sweetheart. But we need to be quiet, just for a minute. Lord Hulruun is about to speak." As the elderly prelate climbed the podium Iolaire was casting around for the rest of her young charges. She'd just located the last of them, a seven year old rascal named Benaleem when a titanic roar shook the plaza!

The ensuing fight was over almost too fast to react to, and the children had only just realised that it wasn't some sort of festival show when Terendalev came crashing down into St Clydeswell square, her great body rending the ground as it did so.

"Children! This way! Quickly!" Blessed by the gods with a good voice, Iolaire was able to keep her charges together and hurriedly shepherded them back towards the temple of Shelyn and the orphanage. Wielding the glaive that she always carried, but rarely used Iolaire led the way as best she could, trying to watch the terrified children and the chaos erupting in the city at the same time.

The next few hours were the most harrowing of Iolaire's life. Unable to reach the Songbird's Aerie due to a huge four armed demon, Iolaire led the children into the outer city and eventually they found shelter, huddled in the basement of an abandoned building. She sang the children to sleep, soothing their fears with favourite stories and then sat at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for morning or the demons - whichever came first. I will protect them. Iolaire promised herself. I failed Lon, but I won't fail them!

Eventually, despite her best efforts, she drifted to sleep and found herself back in the First World, sitting on the mountain with Zana.

"Why are you so upset, little bird?" Zana asked, he was wearing maleform and his dark hair reminded her strongly of her brother.

"I can't protect them Zana." Iolaire explained, somehow sure that her supernatural parent knew exactly who she meant. "I'm not strong enough, not even after your training. I'm not a fighter, I failed Lon, I let him leave and I can't protect the children either."

"Your brother strayed down a dark path." Zana said quietly, voice full of regret. "My own brother has wandered a similar way and he's been gone so long, so very long." Iolaire turned in surprise at the weight of regret in those words and found Zana changed, wearing femaleform and subtly different to before, more beautiful than even the fey should be, yet cloaked in great sadness.

"You are strong my dear." 'Zana' said, turning to place a kiss on Iolaire's brow. "I have watched and loved you from afar and even now I watch your brother as I watch my own. They are both filled with pain but we shall bring beauties answer to them. All beings may be forgiven in the end. Now be strong, my child."

The world dissolved around Iolaire and she found herself in the dark basement, glowing a soft rose light. The next morning, as the sun rose, she chivied the sleepy children from their make-shift beds, and led them back out into the city, heading for the Defender's Heart, a fortified inn where she just knew they would find help.

Hopefully this is the sort of thing you're after!

This is Ouachitonian's submission. Nox is a tiefling alchemist who hopes to use alchemy to 'cure' his condition, but so far has only succeeded in turning himself into a bestial monster. Which he's kind of ok with, because it allows him to unleash his fury at his condition on the evil beings that he blames for it.

In the long run, I plan to use feats an class features to further his changes (think things like Fiend Sight, Expanded Fiendish Resistance, additional Traits, Improved Natural Armor, etc) to represent the further mutations he causes as he experiments on himself, all while building him into a more powerful natural attacking frontliner. He also has all the versatility of extracts, lots of skill points, and Trapfinding as a Slayer talent. I'll definitely be taking levels in Master Chymist as well.

This is really the only character that I have an inspiration for. Would you be willing to accept a non-evil, warpriest or inquisitor of Norgorber?

Antonio is a stout dwarf for his kind, but has a ready song and drink ready for companions. He always seems to lose his shirt in battle, and has a few scars on his forearms from his various scraps and battles.

And now for a quick question, who all took chance encounter? We could connect our characters a bit from the mysterious woman.

Background:

Antonio was a much younger dwarf when he started to first roam and travel, barely past his 60's. This was not completely strange, for he always had a song or a story for the younger dwarves, and the lorekeepers of his home clan enjoyed talking and teaching him about their glorious past battles and wars, both won and lost. However, this all came from a very strange event in his childhood. A hooded woman saved him from a cult that he swore breached the lines, but hearing how his father told the story, it was Antonio who had ventured pasted the picket line and into the enemy camp. How he got so far from his father and their group is still a mystery, and shortly after his father was called home again, for Torag needed that paladin back home. This stories of the war and his own experience are what led him back to Kenabres, looking for that woman who might be an old woman now, to thank her for her actions, and to pick up in Torag's name where his father left off, even if he himself never did hear the call of Torag.

Backstory and appearance for you, and if picked and others picked have the chance encounter I wouldnt mind working or stories a bit tighter, if the age is possible.

On the night of Armasse, he was telling stories and drinking in a local tavern. After the attack, he tried his best to save what he could, and surely his song was heard all around, bolstering enough that along with some other crusaders, he was able to make safe for now a building partially destroyed. He helped heal and fight off a good many lesser demons.

Here is my application:

Character Sheet

Appearance and Personality:
Duncan is a young man about 6'1". He is fit and well built and has a welcoming demeanor. He is kind to most, always willing to help and spread the good word of Iomedae. He has inherited his father's hatred for the forces of darkness and has pledged to rid the world of their evil.

Background:
Duncan Umber, only son of Lady Evelyn and Lord Arthur Umber, was born in Vellumis in the Golarion province of Lastwall. Duncan's mother died when Duncan was quite young and his father Lord Arthur Umber was a local noble who longed for something greater. The Umber family wealth came from their fleet of ships which traded goods with other noble houses from the port cities of Lake Encarthan. Following a terrible storm, the likes of which had never been seen on Lake Encarthan, the Umber family fleet lay at the bottom of the lake. Lord Arthur cursed the worldwound and the daemons that spew through it, convinced that they had something to do with the family misfortune. Lord Arthur had become unhappy with the current rule of the Watcher-Lord and the squabbling of his generals. Wanting to make a name for himself, he decided to join the fourth crusade in the name of Iomedae. In the year 4697, When duncan was 5, his father sold their estate and began a pilgrimage to Kenabres gathering anyone that would join him. Duncan's father left Duncan in the care of the church of Iomedae in Kenabres. His father insisted that Duncan be a defender and knight of Iomedae and as such left instructions that he be trained in combat, mounted training as well as religious and political studies. When the crusade ended in 4707, Duncan's father never returned nor had any word as to what had happened to him.

Duncan was welcomed with opened arms to by the priests at the church. Almost immediately he began what would be a long path of years of training. Growing up Duncan discovered a hidden talent, he started to enjoy the singing during the church ceremonies and he became quite good at it. He joined the choir, quickly becoming one of the most talented singers.

It was a pleasant day of worship, the day that Duncan felt the earth rumble beneath his feat. He was singing praise to Iomedae when screams could be heard outside the church, people were running past terrified. Duncan donned his arms and armour. The worshipers of the church pleaded with Duncan to help them get to defenders heart where they would be safer. Duncan agreed opening the church doors, only to be horrified by what he saw before him. The city was ablaze, daemonic creatures that Duncan had only read about terrorized the town's citizens in was Duncan could have never imagined. Not having much actual combat experience, Duncan tried to calm himself as he joined the ranks of the other Knights of Iomedae that were providing a rear guard protecting those fleeing to defender's heart. The fighting was intense, like nothing he had ever experienced. Knight after knight was slain as their numbers dwindled as they slowly backed their way down the streets trying to protect as many people as they could. Duncan and three others managed to eventually reach Defender's heart. Duncan slumped to the ground exhausted. He looked down at his armor and weapons both coated with blood. He sat there contemplating if any of the blood was his while trying desperately to remain conscious…

Note: Unbeknownst to Duncan his father was actually captured at the ruined city of Raliscrad by the Lilitu demon named Minagho. His father was corrupted by the daemon and now serves in his ranks.

Man the background is turning into a novella. Which is fine :) will be finished with everything by tomorrow except maybe finetuning equipment

Background:
Acesy grew up in a small village of fisher folk near the town of Egede along the lake of mists and veils. Acesy's father never spoke much of his mother, in fact none of the town did. His strange features compared to his fathers lead the young child to believe his mother may have been one of the water nereids that many of the folk in town warned against. He grew up being mostly left alone since the other children avoided him.

When he was six years old after a strange storm where green thunder blasted through the clouds and acidic rain fell A swirling miasma of energy erupted from his chest over his heart. The strange symbol that stayed after that moment intrigued the boy, and when he finally had the courage to bring attention to it to his father he learned the truth.

The man whom had been raising him was not his father, A distant cousin, a member of a secret society called the riftwardens brought him as a toddler to stay with him. His foster father sent a letter to that cousin, and almost 6 months later the man arrived scooped Acesy up and drug him halfway across the Mendev.

The next 25 years of his life he spent in study under a mage who was almost as awkward and reclusive as the boy now studying under him. Still The young boy growing awkwardly into a man didn't mind, in fact he found the principles of wizardly to his liking. Even when it was hard to concentrate because he didn't sleep properly due to the occasional strange dream.

They almost always started the same way, swimming in darkness, a storm raging overhead. He always felt as if he were chasing after something, some grand thing that would make everything clear if he could just grasp it... but it always seemed to slip away.

His master never had answers, he always just posed questions to put the awkward youths mind spinning into more positive directions. As the years near the end of his learning tenure came to a close, the old wizard began to introduce him more and more into the secrets of the riftwardens, though the questions about his parentage remained elusive.

The day came when he was finally given his first assignment, and to his slight dismay it was to send him so very close to where he started, to the town of Egede along the lake of mists and veils as a school teacher, his mission was simple, to keep an eye among the children for further incidents of riftwarden parentage, and to send word if any were found. It was boring, it was droll, it was something he excelled at. The vivid haunting dreams he had dried up, and became nothing but a strange memory barely remembered.

That changed a year ago almost to the day. A dream... no no a nightmare really awoke the quiet teacher from his slumber bathed in a clammy cold sweat. He was being chased in the dream now, and was also doing the chasing. He realized he was chasing the storm, racing to get ahead of it, being pulled and drawn to stop something. His fevered dreams showed him now the town of Kenebres far to the west. The very next day, he gave his resignation and began heading west.

Every crusader of any rank salt and stripe he warned of the coming storm over Kenebras and while some listened at first... by the time of the assault on the wardstone most crusaders knew him as a decent mage, brave to a fault, just a little crazy with some doomsday end of the world fever dreams in his head... which was understandable considering Mendev's battle against the worldwound.

He was with a patrol of 30 stout men and women returning to Kenebras when Khorramzadeh, the Storm King of the Worldwound, struck and even though they were still a good half hours ride from the city, the battle in the sky between Terendelev and the Storm king was visible and all the warnings in his dreams suddenly snapped into place. He was out of place, out of time, and people were dying. Bravely the 31 crusaders rode into the city, Bravely they fell one by one. AS night fell they were down to 12, Chaos raged everywhere and they continued to push forward. Sir Kesten fell, swarmed by a legion of Dretch. Lady Almathia murdered in cold blood by traitorous crusaders pretending to be wounded.

With the mornings dawn he found himself staggering in front of the Defender's Heart, out of spells, out of friends and half dead but not out of hope. Standing there in one of the last bastions of the town's defense another vision.. a waking dream this time, fluttered through his exhausted mind. He was standing somewhere dark, the feel of chaos and evil all about him, but he was there with others, and they were smiting the demons back pushing them back... Destiny, he felt, had more in store for him.

Appearance and Demeanor:
Acesy is an almost awkwardly tall and skinny man with dark blue black hair past his shoulder. His eyes are a brilliant blue with almost no white to them. He is very pale, although when he casts any magic (particularly water based spells) swirls of blue tattoo like markings glow and swirl about his skin for several moments past the casting.

Acesy is by nature, quiet and unassuming.

He certainly is awkward around most folk, especially women folk who show any interest in him.A life of studying has left him remarkably unsure of how to handle those situations.

Have an Oracle of life for a WotR campaign that died a ways back. I'll be rebuilding her as an Oracle/Paladin, but here is the concept:

Lisandra Elsinore, Female Aasimar (Idylkin) Oracle of Life

Personality:
Lisandra has an infectious and magnetic personality, though privately she is somewhat more introspective. Most people she encounters would quickly describe her as bright, buoyant and rarely without a smile or kind word for the people of Kenabres. She is optimistic, and given to enjoying life and all it has to offer, almost in defiance to the tyranny and misery the Demon hordes would like to impose on the people of Golarion. Though she is more open and accepting of other races than her siblings, she sometimes has to fight off leering suspicions when around Tieflings or others with clearly some demonic heritage.

Keirsey Temperament Sorter: INFP

Appearance:
Lisandra is of moderate height and slender build, though she is nevertheless very athletic and more formidable than she appears. While signs of her celestial heritage include fine shoulder length silver hair, and dark crimson red eyes, she otherwise appears as a lovely and graceful human girl in her early twenties.

She typically wears her hair up in a ponytail, mostly to keep it from her eyes when she is working. Whilst adventuring, she opts for rugged clothing, including thigh high boots of soft dark red leather, form fitting breeches of light grey, and a white studded leather jacket with red accents.

Background:
Lisandra was born to Arryn and Valerie Elsinore in the city of Kenabres sometime during the 4th Crusader; she is the youngest of three children, with two older brothers named Edgar and Wilem. The Elsinore clan is a widely known for being devout, almost fanatical followers of Sarenrae and members of the Eagle's Watch faction. The family grew to prominence during the 3rd Crusade, as Lisandra's Grandfather Garet Elsinore famously led a series of inquisitions that resulted in the execution of many suspected witches and agent provocateurs. Though Garet was steadfast in the righteousness of his deeds, some scholars debate whether the inquisitions were moral or effective. Tragically, or fortunately depending on a person's point of view, Garet himself was betrayed by forces within the Mendevian crusades, and was assassinated when Lisandra's father Arryn was still a young boy. Though Arryn remained a devout disciple of Sarenrae, being raised by his mother allowed for a more balanced outlook than that of his father, an outlook that led him to switch allegiance to the Everbright Crusaders.

Arryn himself had become a renown hero of the crusades, having led several successful campaigns into the Worldwound, though the crusades themselves were a failure. During one such raid, he rescued Valerie Warden, a woman of untold serenity whom appeared to be of celestial descent. They fell in love, and were married with children in short order. Arryn settled into a more relaxed and happy way of life, though he trained his children for their eventual service to Sarenrae. As such, Lisandra received combat training alongside her older brothers from a young age. Though she was physically smaller than her brothers, she kept pace with them and showed some martial ability in spite of the fact she detested violence. Ultimately, Lisandra showed a far more promising talent for channeling the divine and healing as she entered late adolescence, her very physical being seemingly brimming with positive energy. Her true gift for healing had clearly descended from her mother, who recognized that her child was manifesting great celestial powers. Sadly, her gift for healing appeared to come at a cost, as she gradually grew deaf as her healing power manifested ever more strongly. Though her deafness was cause for grief amongst her family, Lisandra herself viewed it as no more than a sacrifice for the power she had been blessed with. From the age of eighteen on, Lisandra trained to harness her natural talents, and in time became a sought after healer and medic in Kenabres.

Presently, Lisandra lives a peaceful and relatively happy life in Kenabres, rendering medical and divine healing services at various temples and hospitals within the city. Though not officially associated with the Church of Sarenrae, she is a devout follower of the Dawnflower, and regularly worships in her many temples.

Writing Sample:
The infirmary doors flew open with a sudden bang, soldiers pouring in with wounded comrades slung over their shoulders, or carried on makeshift gurneys. The band of knights carried the banner of some knightly order or another, but it was tattered and blood stained; if they were fresh recruits, they were blooded and fresh no more.

Amidst the chaos, a lovely silver haired girl glided about, triaging all wounded in a methodical but not unkindly manner. She spoke quietly, though confidently as she directed an older caretaker who was following her around with a clipboard ”Put this young man over there, and move this stretcher to the corner, I’ll tend to him in a moment.” Before moving onto the next casualty, the young medic paused and stopped the stretcher she had just sent away to talk to a clearly frightened young man ”Listen, everything will be fine, okay? We’ll take good care of you here.” Her bedside manner was impeccable; the boy’s fate was uncertain, but he seemed to relax at her soothing voice and assured demeanor.

Suddenly, a hulking ulfen man in fullplate armor thundered into the infirmary. While every other caretaker in the facility immediately took notice of his entrance, the silver haired girl didn’t so much as move a muscle, her attention solely focused on the young boy in her care. As the ulfen man barked orders at various soldiers in his native tongue, it was clear to all and sundry that he was in charge. Suddenly, one of the soldiers pointed out the silver haired girl to the commanding officer, and he nodded as he barrelled towards her. He was a giant of man, over a foot taller than she was, but the girl appeared undeterred by his intimidating presence. He appeared impatient, agitated and above all… angry ”You there, girl, you’re in charge here? Your name?” The last question appeared more a command than a request. Again, she paid him no attention, which seemed only to agitate him more. ”Listen here wench, I asked you a question!” The girl continued to pay him no mind, much to the horror of the soldiers in his unit; they feared him, and they feared how he might respond to such impertinence. The commander’s face twisted into a horrible scowl, and he yelled as he grabbed at her shoulder and yanked her around to face him”Damn you! Answer me!”

To the commander’s surprise, the silver haired girl appeared frightened and shocked by his sudden action, appearing legitimately surprised to see the hulking ulfen commander. Recoiling back, she shook her head as the older woman with the clipboard stepped between them. To her credit, the old crone had steely sense to put the commander in his place, obviously having dealt with such men in her time ”Commander, stand down! You’re obviously new here to Kenabres, because if you weren’t, you’d know that this dear girl is deaf!” Immediately, the commander grew red faced and embarrassed by this revelation, and backed down enough to allow the old nurse to continue ”Her name is Lisandra.”

Turning around to the silver haired, the nurse made several gestures that were clearly sign language. Nodding understandingly, Lisandra appeared herself again, certain and no longer frightened as she faced commander ”How can I help you commander?” She was cool and diplomatic under pressure, and clearly had plenty experience dealing with military types. The commander had obviously suffered a defeat, or at the very least a setback out in the Worldwound. Appearing somewhat mollified by her response, he relaxed slightly and gave a quick report to her ”Our battalion was ambushed by vulture demons, cut us to shreds m’lady.”

Lisandra studied his lips as he spoke, and softly interjected when she felt it necessary to inform the commander before letting he continued ”Vrock. Frightening demons; their spores will grow into vines that can strangle a full-grown man. We’ll have to purify your soldiers to be safe.” The ulfen man appeared annoyed at being interrupted, but his expression changed quickly when he realized the gravity of the situation ”Yes of course, spores. Yes, so we purify them then? Anyway, this is just the first wave of injured I’m afraid, you can expect dozens more.” Looking over towards his men, he stroked his beard and appeared pensive and distracted ”Can you handle his many?”

Lisandra smiled, and placed a hand gently on his arm to regain his attention ”We can commander. Healing the injured is my gift from the Dawnflower, and it’s what we do here; your men will live to fight another day.” Something about this girl's confidence put the commander at ease, and he smiled at her, probably the first time he had smiled in weeks.

Seemingly, it was she who was in charge now; she smiled assuredly while pointing towards the wall before quietly adding ”No commander, go sit over on that bench. Your injuries are minor, so you’ll just have to wait.”

Backstory:

Angahaar, scion of Terendelev, was always destined for great things. He came from a long line of crusading warriors, the blood of the mighty silver dragon Terendelev marking them as something of crusader nobility. Angahaar always knew it was his fate to take up the family legacy, and he was trained from a young age in combat, arcana, and religion. He showed more promise than his siblings, his draconic blood was unusually strong. His ferocity in battle matched the righteous fury of his draconic ancestor, and his righteousness and discipline was admired by his peers. When he turned 16 he received his longsword and breastplate, both beautifully crafted by one of the finest smiths in Kenabres. Several years passed, and he honed his skill, his draconic ancestry growing ever more present. He saw a life of honored service in Kenabres ahead of him, beginning at the celebration of Armasse. That all changed with the attack of Khorramzadeh and the fall of Kenabres. It began with nervous excitement, his commitment to the duty of service overpowering any qualms he may have held about appearing in front of the crowds. Everything fell apart in an instant. The explosion of the Kite, the titanic battle between the blasphemous lord Khorramzadeh and his ancestor Terendelev, culminating in her brutal defeat. Where once stood the solid ground of Clydwell Plaza and the certainty of his life, there was a yawning abyss, one he found himself plummeting into. The fall hurt, but thanks to the action of his draconic progenitor, he survived. He worked with the group he found himself in the sprawling underground with, his martial prowess saving the group on several occasions. While surprised by the mongrelmen tribes, he was happy to help the inhabitants of Neathholm, as his commitment to helping those in need commanded he do. The presence of the cultists of Baphoment, however, enraged him. Blasphemers, profligates, defilers in service to the dark gods lurking just beneath the city whose protection ran in his very blood. He destroyed them in a righteous fury. When he saw the brutality that the demons wrought upon Kenabres, he nearly lost hope. He had failed in his duty, his draconic forebear had been slaughtered and his city had been devastated. But his resolve prevailed. He knew his purpose. He was the last scion of Terendelev, perhaps the only one still in existence. Though Terendelev may be dead, she still lived on in his blood, her majesty and commitment to spreading righteousness continuing with him. He would gain his retribution against all demonkind, and spread the ideals that Terendelev epitomized.

Appearance and Personality:

Angahaar is a tall, handsome human man with icy blue eyes and vibrant white hair. His facial features are strong and regal, and small patches of silver scales cover his arms, chest, and neck. He carries with him a finely crafted longsword, breastplate, and buckler. He has a longbow slung over his back which he rarely uses. He also wears a silver holy symbol of Apsu around his neck, both a reflection of his faith and a connection to his heritage.

Angahaar is a beacon of righteousness in a land so desperately devoid of it. He is kind to the innocent, always ready to help someone in need. To the wicked, he has no such compulsion to help. If they are willing to repent, he will spare them and let those with more patience. If they are unrepentant, he will try to destroy them, no matter the odds. He takes it upon himself to face down danger and evil, whatever and wherever that may be. When one doesn’t consider matters of philosophy, Angahaar is confident and self-assured. When not consumed with righteous anger, he can be surprisingly tender with those he cares about, even expressing some doubts in his ability to complete his ultimate mission.

Sure, as long as they are not used to modify your starting wealth.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Just run the game with 18 characters and multiply the enemies by 6 per encounter. Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
