Hello all glad to be playing with you :)

Righto, First things first that I'd like to explain:
My Sigil differs majorly in this way: ALL SETTINGS EXIST. ALL SETTINGS ARE CONNECTED. everything is explained by interconnecting worlds and planes, every different world is just that- a different world, Infinity means infinity. Beyond the edge of every universe is a vast infinite space separating other universes, therefore you can encounter basically anything... Be aware of that
Gives me a reason to use Pathfinder stats and explain it off...
Plus it let's me plant some Easter eggs...

"Sheila" |

Hi, guys!
"It's SHE-la."
I dont have much preference in terms of names, but it's nice to be here. I do like Easter Eggs.
As for where Sheila is exactly, as far as I wrote already she was just dumped into Sigil without warning, so, we're pretty flexible here.

"Sheila" |

Glad to be part of team evil
That reminds me. As the PC possessing most notoriously uncooperative alignment, I'd like to mention early on that I'm super cool with being on either team, but I think Sheila would have the best banter with a mostly good-aligned party. And that I will be doing my best to "make things work" so-to-speak either way.

Tak_Starscale |

Hello all
I Am, the Law! Lawful Neutral.
Tak came to Sigil purposefully looking to enact justice upon certain individuals
I think Tak would work best in a good or slightly mixed party. He works as a good middle man for the good or evil thing

Haile |

Haile checking in. Thanks for the selection.
Haile is in Sigal because he lives here working as a merc after being rescued from the fighting pits of Athas. He prefers Sigal to home.
On good and evil - Haile will never ask and only react to your actions. But he is good and follows a good god. He hates slavery and will react to it like you might expect a barbarian to react to something they hate - even if its legal wherever we are. So there is that to contend with. I can imagine that might cause as much trouble as alignment issues. :)

Telin Kingfisher |

Telin's all for team good :) he's a neutral good character. I'll update his profile to select that.
Telin's hiding in Sigil from his...past...

Telin Kingfisher |

I asked GM, it's a 0 cr template if you are a lower level character and he only gets the lower level abilieis (he'll have to take the fear to increase the template in the future). He ok'd Telin being level 5. I don't think it should be too unbalanced considering a lot of the builds.

"Honest" Yigbex |

The distant sound of flapping wings get louder. "What's up, Party People!"
Yigbex came upon Sigil by accident. The imp was following a powerful wizard through a arcway, thinking the spellcaster was going to access his magnificent mansion only to find himself in The City of Doors. At first, Yigbex would have preferred the security of the Material Plane, but the imp quickly came to see the great opportunities Sigil presented, and so he stayed.
And Yigbex is a Devil..so..his alignment ain't gonna shift anytime soon.

Eleven-Zee-Alpha |

"01001000 01101001"
"Hi"
Eleven, here reporting, and happy to meet you cutters.
IMAGE OF HER HERE
LN:
Eleven is a High tech constructed synthetic being, so team Law,
For good an devil, well she understands there is a things called morality,
Personal, Triable, National etc. But the tend not to be followed fully, there seem to be more about perspective interpretation than logic. But they hold now fixed logic. Her world is simpler, there are laws, rules ways things logically work. Things that do not follow rules/laws or logic, are by their very nature Illogical and so a possible danger. She will act towards them as such, both good and bad.
But she dose not over react.
Wait and see tends to be her way
How she got here:
Well Eleven Zee Alpha [Augmented Android] [private investigator] kind of fell into Sigil during an investigation back on her Tech world. Sigil was really not what she expected to find when she took on a contact. Now unable to find the door back, she has learned to survive in the city of doors. Mostly by blowing the head of anyone who tries to harm her.
Note: Her Alchemy, is all Nanite based.

Shedinn Delmirev |

Eleven-Zee-Alpha |

I get what The Lonely DM said about finding stuff on our PC sheets, looks like half of us have large PC chunks missing from our alts.
I just added some missing pits and make her more clear to read myself, so ALL her info is in the lat and just one click away for The Lonely DM :)
So we have three law-persons. I feel a posse coming on.

Gilly Geitmenn |

Dotting on. Ill have a more extensive intro in a bit. Thanks for letting me join and just character interactions look like it will be fun. Off to work.

First off, not trying to take away GM purview, just musing.
So looking at the submissions We have a few major groups:
THE LAWMEN/POSE:
Eleven-Zee-Alpha - Ranged/Skills/Partial Arcane
Shedinn - Face/Melee
Yigbex - Face/Skills/Partial Arcane
Tak - Melee
*Fun group, pretty balanced as well, given Eleven-Zee-Alpha can do some healing via alchemy I think.
THE REBELS:
Sparrow -Arcane/(Face?)
Haile - Melee
Sheila - Face/Melee/Divine
Gilly - Melee
*Pretty balanced group, but I don't know how well CG and CE can play together...
THE GOOD GUYS:
Haile - Melee
Telin - Skills/Debuff/Melee
Sparrow -Arcane/(Face?)
*The smallest group, semi balanced, but lacks any divine for healing.
THE BAD GUYS:
Shedinn - Face/Melee
Yigbex - Face/Skills/Partial Arcane
Zazriel - Face/Skills/Partial Divine
Sheila - Face/Melee/Divine
*Very talky group, but seems pretty balanced
THE LUKEWARM:
Telin - Skills/Debuff/Melee
Gilly - Melee
Tak - Melee
Eleven-Zee-Alpha - Ranged/Skills/Partial Arcane
Zazriel - Face/Skills/Partial Divine
*This group may have some of the same problems as the REBELS, with the law vs chaos as well as the good vs evil. Definitely a divided group. Heavy on skills, light on face.
I think I got them all...

Haile |

"What is this place? Where are we? Btw, I'm a lawman like Tak. Don't judge me by appearance... "
forum doesn't let me dot in gameplay. When clicking submit I get to a view similar to when I had clicked Preview.
Type something unique into the field and not just “dot”. It should work.

Sparrow the Half Celestial |

Sorry for being late...finally got time to put the profile together.
Sparrow was already taken as a profile name, so I had to add on a bit to get the profile to go. I can change it within the next 9 posts, so if anyone has a better recommendation, I am all ears.
Sparrow is kind of a face...but she only has intimidate, because diplomacy is not a sorc class skill for some reason. Also Charisma is a bit of a dump for her (only +2, gasp!) because she took a bloodline that lets her use wisdom instead of charisma for casting and ability powers.
Honestly she is not a very optimal character and doesn't fit any archetype very well. But I think she could have an interesting story.

Telin Kingfisher |

Hmmm, this means that all the traditional "face" characters are evil. Telin's pretty good at intimidate (enforcer for free action intimidate is a part of his usual attack routine) and has a few ranks in the other skills, but his charisma holds him back from that role.
Of the neutral characters on the good/evil axis) Eleven-Zee-Alpha has a few ranks in talky skills, but is in a similar situation as Telin. Taks has intimidate only.
This may make for some struggles, or for some interesting allies...

Gilly Geitmenn |

Chaotic Chaos! am the I neutral
Gilly while not technically native to Sigil has lived there for decades, and I imagine he made it to just past namer rank (most days anyway) in the Xaositects before the faction war broke out. Gilly doesn’t really give a fig about good or evil and will mostly follow the party around doing random stuff, hopefully useful, most of the time anyway. I like the idea of him traveling around with some of the more lawful people much to their chagrin, and not get his head chopped/burned/shot off. Other than that I don’t really have a strong preference where the winds blow him, party wise.
That said, if it’s helpful I’m more than willing to change up his class/archetype combination. I was really tempted to just multiclass him into 5 random classes. But brawler really fits into the rank and file of the Xaositects and I do want him to contribute. I do love playing charismatic and support classes like oracles and bards. And he could easily be one of those or something else.

Sparrow the Half Celestial |

So...looking over the sheet, I think there is a path to make her a decent face.
I took the Pantheist trait and invested in Know Religion to take advantage of the Int score that I gave her because I wanted her to be more skillful than your normal 2 skill rank sorcerer. Story wise this means she does not worship any deity, she is just down with whichever one is willing to help her out of her situation.
If I dump Pantheist and go Illuminator instead (Converting into a worshipper of Sarenrae, which matches up well with some of her powerset already) I can get diplomacy as a class skill instead of Know Religion and a +2 trait bonus on Diplomacy, which offsets her lower Charisma. Then move the ranks of Know Religion to Diplomacy.
With full investment at level 4 this would give her a diplomacy skill modifier of 11 to go along with her intimidate of 9 and she would be a decent party face...She can be nice and she can be mean, she just can't lie very well (no bluff skill to speak of).

Telin Kingfisher |

If you wanted to keep going with that you could swap out a trait for cunning liar as well, wisdom to bluff. Might help with her hiding.
Looking over Telin I could (with GM approval) swap a feat out to pick up extra traits. IF GM would allow I could pick up student of philosophy. It would fit Telin's character and background, but I already have a social trait (bruising intellect) which is pretty central to my plan for how he fights. I'd also have to shuffle a fro skill points if I wanted to max those skills, but I have 2 ranks in bluff and diplomacy already despite a 7 charisma because of his background. Doing this would give Telin a +9-12 to both diplomacy and bluff, depending on how invested I make him. Sense motive with full skill investment he'd manage a +9.
Edit: All of that said sometimes it's fun to play with a party that has deficiencies...

Sparrow the Half Celestial |

Ascendant Recollection doesn't really speak to her background...More of just how powerful the serum that the alchemist gave her was (yay Anime-esque backstory!). And at level 4 it gives no benefit because there is no difference between L4 and L5 for her 1st level sorc power anyways.
Cunning liar would certainly help bluff checks out, and bluff is a class skill for sorcs. I would probably move the skill ranks from heal to bluff if I were to do that. I think I had them there because at one point I was planning on her taking the Healer's Hand Planar Conduit feat...but that got backburnered.
That would most certainly make her an official face at that point. +9 intimidate, +11 diplomacy, +12 bluff.
If that is something that we need and the GM is cool with the rewrites I am comfortable with doing that. Making friends and hiding from enemies is kind of what her build is about anyways.

Orrr... Guys. We could just see how the characters actually interact before we preemptively divide ourselves along alignment lines? Lol. And to be clear, I didn't really build Sheila for a "face" role. I put those ranks in case we needed to cover our behinds at some point. She "could" do the talking, but I figured she'd mostly be a loudmouth unless no-one else wanted to take charge of the talking.

"Honest" Yigbex |

Hmmm, this means that all the traditional "face" characters are evil.
The imp smiles a wide, toothy grin.

Can I throw a spanner in the works here if I may, well not so much a spanner as observations. Not all of use want to rebuild after being picked, well I don't.
Why? you ask, as there is a clear party benefit, well, let me explain.
I fully understand the logic of homogenised party brake downs, of PCs into crunch slots,
Normally something like this
Tank/Ranged/Face/Skills monkey/Healer Then getting players to make as close as the can each aspects.
Doing this kind of post group optimisation may seem like a good idea, But it also has the effect of flattening out interesting possible obstructions to game play. Ones that player Groups would be forced to find ways around, given the interesting dynamics and inherent limitations of that group/game etc. Take that away and well, 'Roll playing' in my view becomes just 'playing Roles'
So how about this, two new groups clarifications
"The None homogenised Group" [We came as we where picked]
and
"The homogenised Group" [We re-worked ourselves after being picked]
I think it has legs
:0)

I'm fine either way, like I said previously, it can be fun playing a party with deficiencies. Since this is a homebrew campaign it can be whatever and the challenges are all in the GM's court. If it were a prebuilt module having a "balanced" party might be more important (it's not fun when the quest giver won't tell anyone what they need to do because everyone has the people skills of a toad).
Also, what the final groups end up as is all GM purview, as well as whether or not rebuilding is ok/desired.
Still, it's good to chat about all this for several reasons. It gives us as players a chance to get to know one another, also it give GM a chance to see what he's working with. You can only get so much out of a character profile and a few posts in recruitment.
I hope no one is upset, I'm not trying to dictate to anyone how to play to make their character, or even what team they'll be on. I'm just listing information and discussing options/observations.

Eleven-Zee-Alpha |

So how much RP'ing experience dose everyone have.
Im old so have played a lot over the years, but only a select number of Systems and
mostly with the same group. But been on here some 4 years now I think, both as a player and as a GM.
Most of the time I just like to go with the flow, but I like a fast game over a slow posting one. I have data on my mobile so can check for post a lot.

Tak_Starscale |

Against the rebuilding entirely, part of the challenge of the game is working with and arou d what you and others build not to mention it defeats the purpose of being selected in recruitment. Feat changes maybe, but skills can be finicky they're close to a characters background.
Fair anount of rp experience at this point, been on the boards for a good amount of years and had dnd experience before that.
I've only really played 5e, core 3.5 and pathfinder

Haile |

Unsure where our GM stands on rebuilding but it seems wrong to me. I mean we were selected based at least partially on the builds. To rebuild is somewhat bait and switch, isn't it?
What do you consider old Eleven-Zee-Alpha? I have kids that likely have more RP experience that some here. :)

Telin Kingfisher |

Well that's a pretty overwhelming response. I'm in the minority I guess. To me a character build is somewhat flexible up until you begin playing. The general concepts are set, but how those concepts are represented can be changed.
I've a fair amount of RP experiance. I've GM's home games and we'll as played in them as well as online.

Gilly Geitmenn |

I'm with Telin for the most part. My philosophy is we should be having fun with the game. If a part of the game is causing someone to not have fun, such as their build, that part should be changed. If its fun to have all bases covered great, if its fun to have challenges that we are woefully unprepared for even better. I do love a good deficiency or two on both sides of the table, so long as it's not game breaking.
As far as changing Gilly goes I don't think he was selected based on his feat or skill selection, though probably basket weaving did play into it. The only vital things about him are that he's a bariaur, he's a chaosmen, he has a tragic backstory that's not important, and he's just a touch barmy. That said I'm also pretty lazy and don't mind not changing him either.
I've role played for over 25 years now. Got my start in AD&D, fell in love with the Planescape setting at the time. I've played Changeling and Mage in some mixed World of Darkness games, would like to play Scion but that likely won't happen. Old Alternity was my second favorite. My IRL groups have plans to start playing new Alternity soon. My wife likes running Dread. She also ran Serenity for a while, but it fell through once she got her current bread-winning job. I've been doing the PbP thing for about a year now, and it is my preferred way to run games.

Gilly Geitmenn |

I guess I did officially start with the red box but didn't get really into it until later

The Lonely DM |

I've been remaining silent mostly because I want to see how you all interact :P
For the most part I agree with GM_panic- The fun comes from the challenges and finding unconventional ways to overcome them.
Other than that- expect the first Official post in game play tonight- I gotta get some work done before I can get anywhere.
However I will state this as a preview: your Characters will all be grabbed or asked politely, or guided to a building, pushing you all together in a large room. Those that grab you just so happen to be outsiders that would most align with you- our Imp for example would be grabbed by a higher ranked devil.
Also, I didn't really look at your classes when I picked you, I got a general idea of what you all where, I know for example the imp is a mage and the Android is a gunslinger- But for the most part I didn't look at skills or you ability to use them each time you come across a problem that can be solved by chatting, your also probably gonna be able to just smash your way to success as well. Which way is easier just depends on the situation.
And finally- if the parties end up unbalanced or in need of something they don't have (most likely being healing or a specific skill) then I'll provide a way to gain access to that thing- sure you'll have to pay for it- but it's available.

The Lonely DM |

For The most part, This game will be very freeform, I present your issue(which spoilers- Portals are closing and not reopening) and you each will decide your own way of solving it. At first the two tables will most likely be on the same side of this, but if things go right (or wrong) you could end up on opposite sides of a conflict...
In the end, You'll find the source of the problems, fix it, then deal with the ramifications of that problem. As the resulting conflict will... Be problematic at best :P

Sparrow the Half Celestial |

Fine by me. It sounded like this was going to be an RP/Social Encounter heavy game...so if we were short on face-itude I was willing to adjust my character. If we want to move forward as is though that is cool too.

The Kobold Klan |

I'm just statting up my mount. I assume they also receive automatic bonus progression based on their own hit dice and available magic item slots?
well... Basically, but at a lesser extent. Use it at 3/4 rate- so at lvl 4 they are lvl 3 and so on so forth.
