When Volo finished talking to the other outsiders he returns to the others. "*sigh* well, if we can get started that would be lovely. Daedelous, I'm glad you can supply them with what I can't. It makes this alot easier for me." he hands rhe party the stones of recall, explaing how to use them. "to mark a place as your safe space- go to the location and speak the key words. he smiles
so- for no reason in particular - I'd like those with the stones to be stated, This of course is purely innocent and in no way will be brought up in the future
Volo then adjusts his glasses, "now, any final questionns before I send you off?"

We will also need letters of introduction and authority for those we are to visit here and on each plane who are contacted to you. I take it you secretary will get them to us before we leave... Please"
She adds.
Gilly Geitmenn |
Gilly grabs the stone of recall and gives Volo a thumbs up.
Telin Kingfisher |
Before everyone disperses to go shopping Teling grabs the attention of Shaila, Gilly and Haile. "So, we will be working together, and as such we should get to know one another more. I have a room at an inn not far from here as does Master Haile. If you want I could arrange for you to take lodging there as well. Now before we begin purchasing equipment i'd like to know what each of your specialities are. Knowing what each member is capable of will be most helpful, necessary even if our team is to be successful. I will go first to illustrate what I would like each of you to share. Please boating is not appropriate, nor is false modesty.
As I said before I am an adveturer of sorts. I have a basic instruction in most subjects. I fight both with a bow and hand to hand. I am skilled at picking locks and removing traps. In addition to these skills, I posses a few tricks some might call witchcraft, the most dramatic of which allows me to force another to fall asleep. A more subtle trick but often even more useful is that I can cause my does to doubt themselves leading them to let their guard down. In addition to these, though I am not a spellcaster I can see magic, and I have learned how use many of the tools such as wands that are usually the preview of spell casters.
Very well, I have bared my soul before you as it were. I would appreciate you all to do likewise."
Haile |
If bear of souls is what you want, well remember you asked. I was born in the slave pits on the world of Athas in the shadows of a dying sun. I was literally bred to fight. My youth was not pleasant. It was a mixture of hard training from my masters, abuse from my jailors, and a tough tenderness from my mother. She was rewarded for wins in the ring with time with her son. And mom could fight. From my early teens I trained daily. I killed my first man before I was 14. For my coming of age my owners promised something special. On my 16th birthday I was pitted against my own mother. Knowing that they both would be slain if they did nothing my mother fell on her own sword and died in sands to the booing of the crowd. I hope you begin to understand my hatred of slavery.
But I think you want more to understand what I can do in a fight. I am tough and have thick skin. Con of 20/26 while raging and DR 2/4 nonlethal. And I am strong. Strength of 26, 30 when raging. In a fight I can choose to enter a rage. When I do my mind is fortified against magic and my hands become weapons. +2 will saves when raging AND +3 vs magic when raging. And he can enter a rage as an immediate action. He can attack with one of his weapons or natural attacks of claw, claw, bite. [/ooc] And as a follower of Cayden Cailaen I am bolstered by strong drink and am seldom without it. +2 to will saves if I have had a drink in the last hour. And finally, I have trained with the earthbreaker and can attack equally well for lethal or nonlethal damage with it.

"oh, yes, I shall have a carrier get you the marks of passage, and here are the planes lost he pulls a small scroll from his robes, handing it to the Android. "Most of them where just minor worlds, Nothing like Toril or Eberron. Another common link- is that each of the worlds had a being that was transported to Ravenloft... Of which I am unfortunately not able to travel to due to some... Divine issues." he frowns, "another reason I need you ..." he sighs. "I'd rather confirm the links before going there however. Ravenloft is a dangerous plane, and I'd rather not loose all my followers to the city of necropolis."
The Lonely DM |
The man looks at Eleven... "you not know how Ravenloft works? he chuckled."no I suppose you don't, it is a pretty exotic thing, hardly anyone decides to studdy demiplanes these days. Ravenloft, or the Dread plane as some call it- is a prison for the most dreadful, dastardly beings in existence. Mostly of the undead variety. The beings I'm referring to would be those Ravenloft has deemed worthy of trapping- as the plane is also a prison for those taken by the mists. Outsiders rarely choose to go there because you never know if while there, the mists take a liking to you, and never let you leave. Hence- I would rather not send you there. I may never even hear back. he sighs, "other than that, thanks... It's best we get started. I wish you all luck and for the sake of the entire Multiverse... I hope we succeed." The man leaves then, just walking out the door, followed by the Dabu.
The various other outsider begin making their way out, while the inevitable Daedelous stays, "before I set off, I'll show you to our ship" he says, bowing.
Sparrow the Half Celestial |
Sparrow sets off from the meeting, renewing the illusion of the small urchin child before stepping out the doors. On the streets of Sigil multiple beings give her a wide berth. Most are aware that a small human child would not be wandering the streets unaccompanied, but they appear to worry what might be hidden under the illusion ans so choose the path of ignoring it instead.
As she sets about her shopping she garners some curious looks from shop keepers, but most have learned to avoid asking too many questions to the denizens of Sigil.
In addition to the bolts I already purchased I will also pick up a wand of lesser restoration for us with 10 charges on it. That comes to 900 gold, which takes me to 1018 in debt to the inevitable. Guess that is all the shopping I will be doing. Can't think of anything else I need anyways.
Shopping completed, she heads to the craft where it was agreed everyone would meet.
"Eleven, I picked this up while shopping. Seemed like something that could be useful in countering the negative effects of beings or environments we encounter. It is not something I can use directly though. Are you able to activate it, or do you know if someone else can?"
Sparrow hands Eleven a 7" long willow wand with an engraving along the shaft that is evocative of a summer breeze.
Telin Kingfisher |
After Haile finishes, the group pauses their conversation to listen to Volo and the Inevitable. When they have finished Telin resumes.
"Master Haile, you are correct, I was speaking more of a practical understanding of each other's capabilities, however I must say I am sorry for you. It is terrible what you have suffered. Too much of such evil exists in the universe. I hope you will not be offended if I personally do not share where I come from and of my previous life. It is enough for you to know that I come from the plane of air, though that was probably obvious, and that I am what I am. I am sure your fighting skills will be invaluable."
Addressing the team bound for the Abyss he continues, "it appears that we will not be needing lodging in the city tonight after all. Perhaps we can continue this discussion as we shop. I have a long list of items in mind that I will be purchasing so that make take a while."
"Sheila" |
"Yeah, I keep people alive and I put them down when the Cauldron Beast wants them. Glad we agree that's enough for you, cupcake. I ain't gonna give you my life story either way. Nothin' to tell."
I'll have Sheila dip in the fund for a similar Lesser Restoration wand, since we wont need the expensive material components. 900 in the hole for now, since I want to pick up those weapon blanches too. Stuff I bought will be in Sheilas sheet. As a side note, I don't think the numbers Haile gave are right for his rage. Unchained barbarian gives flat untyped bonuses to hit, damage and temp HP, not ability score bumps.
Eleven-Zee-Alpha |
Eleven is standing to one side of the 'docks' space where the craft is, in front of her is a table on which kit and supplies are laid out, some rope, cold weather clothing, a Healers kit. She seems to have taken aport the odd guns she has and with some kind of tool kit is inspecting and cleaning them.
She stops as Eleven comes up and tells her about the wands. She takes them a lays them down in a row on the table. Picking one up she inspects it closely.
"They are Magi-Tech wands, they hold charges ready for use. On the side here, this small writing is the activations Instructions. I believe I can decipher them yes."
She says back, putting the wand on the table. Then she starts to rebuild her weapon.
"Also when the others from our group come we can ask them, I have placed items on the table we may need. Such as provisions here. The Chest of holding and other odd things I found in the docks."
With a snap she locks the Revolver closed and slowly spins the drum close to her ear. There is a clicking sound as it moves from one chamber to another. She seems to be happy with the sound. She put it down and starts to work on the other. As she dose she asks.
"So Sparrow, would you like to tell me a bit about yourself?"
Telin Kingfisher |
Telin listens to Sheila and responds in a flat voice, "Fair, but some more detail about your tactical abilities would be appreciated. For instance, what do you mean 'keep people alive?' There's a lot of ways one can 'keep people alive' so saying such amounts to saying hardly anything at all."
Then he turns to Gilly and says, "Master Gilly, is that your name? or is that a title or some such? Anyways, Master Gilly, what do you do? Aside from weaving baskets that is?"
Knowledge(Arcana): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
"Regardless, I do think we should purchase some wands, including one similar to the one Sparrow bought. I'd also suggest that we acquire a wand to meet basic healing needs. They are expensive, so I think a certain pooling of funds would be appropriate as we will all use the wands as needed.
Sparrow the Half Celestial |
"So Sparrow, would you like to tell me a bit about yourself?"
"Oh, I feel like I have told you so much already. Most of my life has been defined by the experiments. Helping the other subjects or being experimented on myself. I don't really know who I am now that I am free, but I am excited to find out. Well, excited and a little nervous. The change is still happening see. I find out I can do something new every few weeks or a month or so. I don't really know where it will stop."
As she talks with Eleven she absent-mindedly straightens and tidies Eleven's tools and the other items on the table. When done they are arranged like a set of surgical tools ready for a theater.

Daedelous aproaches you all, The inevitable bows and says, "I have done my to make my ship hosbitable for you as possible" he says, pulling out a small stone "follow me- I have a portal key to the ship- designation 1330 a.k.a. The Nemo." He says, opening a gate next to him the other side looks the inside of a luxury mansion you might see in a rich district.
He waits for you all to enter, the machine quite patient

She works but pays attention,
"That is admirable after what you suffered. You have a very ordered mind. So I would suspect your life from here on you learn how to live it. I was then same after I pid of my creation cost. Suddenly my time was my own, took me a while to learn how to use it."
She starts to pack away the items, when Daedelous comes, finishing she follows. The box of holding under one arm. Going into ship she looks for a room for team Mechanical them to meet in.
"Honest" Yigbex |
The imps zooms into the door before the others and does a cursory fly around the cabin.
Yigbex whistled with appreciation. "Wow! Talk about saving the City of Doors in STYLE!!"
Telin Kingfisher |
Telin nods and after finishing his purchases he joins the group at the door.

"You tell it girl! Do what feels good!" Sheila utterly disengages from Telins line of dialogue for a moment before turning back to him.
Telin listens to Sheila and responds in a flat voice, "Fair, but some more detail about your tactical abilities would be appreciated. For instance, what do you mean 'keep people alive?' There's a lot of ways one can 'keep people alive' so saying such amounts to saying hardly anything at all." (...)
"Don't know what else you want. I learned how to use wands and scrolls and crap like that from what was left of adventurous types in the abyss because of the Cauldron Beast. It told me a lot of things about war and magic, divine and otherwise. Some of it made sense. Some of it didn't quite not make sense. Know what I mean?"
Since it looks like a slight time skip, this part'll be post shopping.
Sheila walks back into the meeting room later on with a new sack of purchases.
"Lets see I got a stick off the ground..." Holding out a club-like walking stick.
"That wand you wanted..."
"Some cold iron we can bake onto a weapon or two. Demons are allergic to cold iron like most mortals are allergic to everything." She produces some smaller sacks of cold iron.
"These feathers that the merchant insisted were anchors. We might need them for the ship, idunno. Had to buy them though because this-" Now showing off a wristsheath she seemed to purchase. Hopefully purchased. "Only cost 5 of these gold pieces. Getting the anchors for the ship leaves me with a total of *snerk* 69 left." She quietly giggles to herself.
Gilly Geitmenn |
Seeing no response from his new friends Gilly shrugs and walks around Telin assessing him. As he does so he draws his dan bong while saying, "The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth." Yggdrasil is that you?
Gilly looks distracted for a moment and he turns to the side looking at no one and sticks his tongue out. He then turns back to Telin and his stance subtlety changes. Martial flexibility
Imp. Grapple: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
Gilly grabs Telin using the dan bong to put him in a headlock. Then Gilly gives Telin a nuggie and releases him. "Air genasi, Gilly likes you!" Gilly was using chaos speak here its just happened to make sense this way.
Gilly then boards the ship tiptoeing around the inevitables.

Telin's eyes narrow as he stares at Gilly, but the bariaur's cheery attitude causes the heat in his gaze to fade quickly. "I suppose that is an answer of sorts though." he says with a huff.

While the ship istelf was shiny and fancy, The crew Manning it seemed pretty oblivious to those inside.
The Inevitable don't seem to pay any of you any mind "I had my crew add a set of rooms, And get comfortable bedding and amenities for you all. If you'd like anything, just ask, We can reconfigure nost rooms for almost any simple task"*Cough*
The inevitable leads you each to your rooms before saying When you are ready, I have gates opened to The Abyss other than that we are docked in Mechanus- on an outpost designed to direct us inevitable.
Telin Kingfisher |
Telin goes and looks over his room. Nodding he seeks out the inevitable. "Master Daedelous, I'm sorry to be an inconvenience, but would it be possible for my bed to be replaced with a hammock? I find I sleep better in one even if it is a bit unconventional. Other than that everything seems to be wonderful. I'd like to eat a good meal, but other than that and a bit of planning I don't see any reason we cannot go to the Abyss very soon. Thank you."
Eleven-Zee-Alpha |
Once the others going to Mechanus have checked there rooms she collects the, for a meeting. moving to the Mechanus group game thread
"Sheila" |
Glancing between the others gathered, the draegloth lumbers over to the portal, giving it a look over before entering.
"I had my crew add a set of rooms, And get comfortable bedding and amenities for you all. If you'd like anything, just ask, We can reconfigure nost rooms for almost any simple task"*Cough*
"Rrr." Sheila looks around the room dropping her bag in a corner.
"It's too... ." She brings her verbal list of changes to a random crew inevitable.
"I want a stone altar to put people I need to fix onto. Put grooving and a small pit on one end for the blood to pool into... uhh, just in case things get messy. And a bigger bed, did you even see who you picked up? Those might not fit together... You know what, just build me a room next to mine for the altar." Basically, a med-bay of sorts.
"And would it kill you to get some music in here? Any of your robots know any instruments? Just because I lived under a rock doesn't mean I don't have taste."
Wait. You leave gates open to the Abyss? On purpose? Haile looks confused and worried. Don't... things wander out?
"You bet they would. Probably isn't open all the time."
The Lonely DM |
Indeed, Our gates only open when we want them to. Telin, you can do whatever you you please with your room, it's fully customizable, and for you... Shella (the inevitable pronouces it Shell-lah), we have suitable medical facilites here aboard the ship... And music is subjective. I've always found silence interrupted only by the humm of a perfectly organized ship to be all the music I need.
