This is worrying 10 players and a real slow start.
Don't worry too much, it's a weekend. It's pretty common for weekends to be slow. Also introductions are something that people like to craft well so they can take a bit longer than the usual post.

I think everyone is just afraid because meeting the Lady means certain death or worse.
The Lonely DM |
My level, or their level? Because ACs and phantoms for example already progress at 3/4 my level. Was that what you meant?
yes, Exactly
At this point I expect it to be slow- 10 players (possibly less) is gonna mean that .
I probably won't advance plot for at least a day or two as we figure out who has trickled through the cracks
Eleven-Zee-Alpha |
Your mean something like this?
Glowing eyes [Check]
Four-armed not equal in size [Check]
Half-fiend and half-drow [Check]
Smooth and hairless [Check]
pointed ears [Check]
Upper arms, claws on each finger [Check]
Her legs are bent in two places. [Check]
werewolf like elongated face [Check]
"Rip and Tear" aesthetic. [Check]
muscles under thick, bumpy and violet skin. [Check]
:)
Green Smashomancer |
What kind of barbarian doesn't want a rip and tear buddy?
I saw that pic but it's not exactly on point. Closest thing certainly but I was hoping to dig around and find something outside of stock art.
And the skin isn't nearly avocado-esque enough. #Nopointsforyou
I kid of course. Humor is hard through text.

Telin I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty of adding an image to your PCs advertisement. Thought it would be cool to get us our PCs talking on a subject.
Not at all, though I don't see the link (if there was one). By the same turn I hope you don't mind me assuming you're time in sigil, though I tried to leave it somewhat vague "fairly short time" to an elf can be many things...
Haile |
By the way, I have dotted in but I dotted and deleted.
Right now I am sitting in an ICU unit with my mother. She had a heart attack early Friday morning and is pretty sick. So I am quite distracted but also expect to have a lot of waiting around time. I have my laptop and the hospital has good wifi, but few places to plug in. No place to power up in the ICU itself and I am down to 20% power.
Telin Kingfisher |
Likewise, I hope everything works out.
Green Smashomancer |
Wishing the best for you Skorn. It was difficult when my mom passed on, so I'm hoping for the best for both of you.
And on a lighter note, I see some more Pics were edited into that post by Mr. Panic. Yeah, two and four are pretty good, so have those points.
They can be cashed in. With 20 more, I'll give you a shout out among people who you dont know on facebook. Ten more than that and I'll give you a high-five.*
Telin Kingfisher |
And so the fun of fighting ninjas begins! :D. Eleven people is going to make conversation quite disjointed.
"Honest" Yigbex |
I'd like to think the higher-ranking devil who found Yigbex who commanded the imp to attend this meeting was essentially blackmailed to attend, lest Yigbex be forced to return to Hell for reassignment.
Lone, I noticed Yigbex is not on the Players tab.
Gilly Geitmenn |
I think you might need to post in the gameplay thread before you'll show up on the players list.

So, how should we handle languages in this game? There's potential for quite a few.
One thing I've done in the past is to run my text through google translate then put the translation into a spoiler. Like this:
Telin addresses the supposed dragon Tak, "Jag tycker att dina vågar är en rolig färg"
I don't always do this, sometimes it's just too much effort given time constraints, but it can add a nice effect. The reason I ask is I'm considering engaging Tak in draconic, but I don't want to make the decisions for others about what languages to use without others having a chance to give their input if they want. Some languages I'd propose be the purview of the person most effected, infernal for Yigbex, Celestial for Sparrow, etc.
Thoughts?
"Honest" Yigbex |
Fantasy languages are always a win. Use them.
Telin Kingfisher |
Shall we put a list together so we can all use the same ones?
I'll propose elven be gaelic.
Sparrow the Half Celestial |
Elvish can actually be Elvish if we use the Russian Translation site Yandex Translate. They have Sindarin Elvish (LotR) in their list of options.
Edit to add: Oh, nevermind. It looks pretty on the site, but does not copy paste over correctly.
For example, Speak Friend becomes q2$`N tj$26T...but looks correct on Yandex.
Bummer.

Yeah, in another campaign I play in a player trasliterates whatever he's saying into runes for dwarven, but when I look at it on my phone it just comes through as boxes. I do a lot of posting with my phone so I tend to gravitate towards tools that work well in that format.
Sparrow the Half Celestial |
I would agree with Elven, or maybe even Sylvan, being Gaelic.
By and large I think it depends on if the language "looks" right since we won't be actually reading it.
Maybe the first person to use a fantasy language gets to choose what we will use going forward (so long as it does not result in null character boxes for other players)? When you first use a language just post in discussion with what language you used.
Gilly Geitmenn |
In my games we usually just hide it in spoilers like so.
Its up to the player to decide if they can/should look.
Sparrow the Half Celestial |
Why would Dabus Rebus say something something? :P
GM_Panic |
Note Paizo posted something a while back about not, using none english like this. I think there spam checker dose not do all languages 100%, so under spoiler is better.
Human Language Family
Common - English
Halfing - Dutch
Gnoll - Czech
Elven Language Family
Elven - French
Undercommon - Magyar (Hungarian)
Sylvan - Gaelic [Irish]
Dwarven Language Family
Dwarven - Russian
Gnome - Czech
Giant - Slavonic
Goblin - Bulgarian
Orc - Croatian
Draconic Language Family
Draconic - Klingon
Infernal - German
Abyssal - Thai
Celestial = Greek

** spoiler omitted **
I always inlcude a translation in a spoiler, so even if the spam filter were to blow it up the english is still there to be read.
In general I could roll with this list, though gnome and gnoll both being czech is odd. The one exception being Klingon, is there maybe a different language we could pick for draconic? I'd end up just skipping it otherwise
Sparrow the Half Celestial |
I've always used latin for draconic...it makes sense in my head since most of the PF dragons are the european type.
Green Smashomancer |
See, my favorite latin is celestial. I guess preferences would vary wildly. Hmm. It isnt as cool but the easiest way to keep things straight would just be using the english spoiler without a foreign translation.
Edit: If we want to do it the cool way, I have confirmation from a german fella that using German for Abyssal is a-okay because it's hilarious to scare people by shouting german words.
Telin Kingfisher |
Guys, we could go down an unsavory rabbit hole here. I'd appreciate it if we didn't. ..
"Honest" Yigbex |
Sorry. My imp has strong feeling about anything demon-related. I apologize.
Telin Kingfisher |
It's ok, I just want to keep us from taking it further. Roleplayers are an incorrigible bunch :)
Telin Kingfisher |
GM call that one,
But I think we are all experienced players here and know the Difference between A PC saying something in Character to another PC, and what a player says to another player. We area all Player to player respectful here.:)
That is true to an extent. The GM is the final arbiter of what they will allow in their game. However each of us as players have our own comfort levels and we do a great deal in setting the tone of a game. No one knows what anyone else's comfort level is unless we as players speak up when something makes us uncomfortable. That is what I am doing.
Personaly I'm ok with most stuff, blood and guts don't bother me, neither does swearing for the most part. However my personal comfort level regarding sexual content is somewhere between a PG and a PG-13. What's been said so far gets right up to, maybe a bit past where I'm ok. That is probably a lower level than many players, but that is what I am comfortable with. We are all adults, and I don't want to cramp anyone's play. If that is too limiting to the group as a whole I understand. If that is the case it is best that I withdraw. I hope that it isn't though as I am enjoying the this campaign and the batter (we haven't even met all of each other yet and I'm having a blast) but to me this is something important in the games I play.
I hope everyone understands, I don't want to seem judgmental. No hard feelings either way.
Sparrow the Half Celestial |
I am there with you Telin. I actually do not watch rated R movies IRL for similar reasons.
So yes, if we could avoid getting to far beyond PG-13 with regards to "adult situations" I would appreciate it.
Gilly Geitmenn |
Point of order, we in fact don't know that we're all adults here.
This is why I won't run Wrath of the Righteous campaign on the boards unless I personally know everyone playing and perhaps even not then. Because there is a trigger warning in the 6th book telling the GM to make sure everyone is ok with certain content. Honestly they probably should have put it in before then.
Fantasy violence: ok!
Censored or in cant swearing: ok!
Sexually suggestiveness: keep it at PG please
Green Smashomancer |
I'll be honest, I can do fine with dark. Just as long as it's actually dark and not just schoolyard edgy. PG-13 ish works fine for me too.
Also edited in a bit extra. I should mention I haven't had a problem with anything so far.
Telin Kingfisher |
Well, I'm glad to hear the positive response from everyone so far :) in the end I'll leave it up to the GM. It's probably something we should have discussed during recruitment, but there's always so much to talk about sometime it slips through the cracks.
