Out of Game Talk: I don't like doing this at somebody else's table, but I didn't see an option to PM you, I think you have that disabled. Lonely, were you still wanting to participate in the Pathfinder Brawl? You timed out on round 1, but we are kicking off round 2 next week...so if you wanted to jump back in now is the time.

Sheila, are you buying a wand of restoration in addition to the one we had discussed, or is that in place of?
Telin Kingfisher
All of them sound like good choices. A fully charged infernal healing, 10 charge lesser resto, and 10 charge bless was there another one?
As far as wands go let's split the cost what Gilly listed. That's a cost of 750+900+150=1800= 450 of each of our 1250 allotment leaving each of us with 800 of credit each or 3200 as a group.
So, we can split the cost of that and you still have cash to burn, or we can adjust things another way. Up to you. I know Haile was considering buying some additional consumables as well.
"Sheila"
There it is, I knew we were discussing it. Splitting the cost is better for me, because I spent a good chunk of my actual gold on consumables. A wrist sheath to help manage these wands for example.
While you are technically correct Sheila the unchained system did not handle Raging Vitality. My numbers are the chained equivalent.
Mostly yeah. The only real difference is the strength adjustment; the damage bonus doesn't increase for two-handing a weapon. Figured it was worth discussing at least, I've never given the unchained barbarian much of a look.
Edit: Are we still buying a back-up healing wand?
Haile
A valid point, and it will cost me a point of damage when I two hand a weapon. But will gain me a point with a secondary bite I think.
My opinion: The unchained rogue is pretty much all win. No reason not to play unchained. The unchained monk is good too. The unchained summoner is good for game balance. But as best as I can tell there is little reason to go unchained barbarian. It removes a couple cool options and sorta dumbs down the class.
Gilly Geitmenn
IIRC unchained barbarian was to remove the possibility of death rage, where if you stop raging the character would die. But they decided it wasn't enough of a change so to justify a book entry and retooled more things. And then that broke a whole bunch of compatibility.

Yes, unless I'm confused. I'll carry one and you carry one. That way we can pick each other up

Hmm. I'll have to read closer. I took Raging Vitality for just that reason - to cover going down while raging. If that is already covered I may want to change to another feat.
Gilly Geitmenn
While in a rage, a barbarian gains a +2 bonus on melee attack rolls, melee damage rolls, thrown weapon damage rolls, and Will saving throws. In addition, she takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. She also gains 2 temporary hit points per Hit Die. These temporary hit points are lost first when a character takes damage, disappear when the rage ends, and are not replenished if the barbarian enters a rage again within 1 minute of her previous rage. While in a rage, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skill (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration (such as spellcasting).

I think everyone is ready to go just waiting on Lonely
Telin Kingfisher
I think part of is also is the pivot towards the individual teams. I know I haven't been as chatty about things Eleven is doing because I'm trying to focus on Team Abyss's problems. I think once we have the separate threads it should pick up again.
Also, Lonely has said we were a lost faster that he's used to. IT's probably going to be a slower pace that we might like, but that's normal. It's a lot easier to be a player than the GM. Rarely is the GM pushing players to move faster.
Telin Kingfisher
Working in team Abyss if going to be so much fun.
When I planned Telin I expected him to be a prankster and a bit impulsive, to balance out his ridged upbringing and societal expectations. So far none of that has shown through. I think we are going to get ourselves into all sorts of trouble :)

Okay, Progress update- I have been working on creating two tables, writing up some plot and threads, and work my ass of RL at my job.
So my time here has been a little postponed, but here i am...
Okay, now that I have threads open for the two tables, its time to get you to the ship :P

Awesome :) Sorry RL job has been rough :(
We can just add a line or two into the gameplay thread that says something like, "The group spends some time wandering around the markets of Sigil making their purchases before gathering at the ship." Then we can finish up role playing our market crap while not slowing everything down :) plus that leaves some fluff room for how we decided all the crap we hashed out in the discussion thread.

No worries I am along for the ride, whether that's a lazy river or The Screaming Hyena

So offtopic, but...
Guys I did a thing! Check this out if you get the chance and post me some feedback/advice. Thanks! :D
Baggageboy's Mini Guide to Making the Most of UMD at Low Levels
"Honest" Yigbex
Loney, can I do my potion shopping off-screen with Shiela?
Telin Kingfisher
That is a good list of scrolls. I've never been able to figure out what to use a scroll for, myself.
It was equiping Telin that got me thinking about this. It's something I've always disliked because you don't really know what to do with UMD as a level 1 character, but all the guides say it's one of the best skills ever so you feel like you're doing it wrong if you don't start investing in it.
Telin Kingfisher
Nice! That's a solid list.
Gilly Geitmenn
I just bought some weapons.

I did laugh about that. :)
I assume you're still in on the group purchased items?
Telin Kingfisher
Cool. I bought a scroll of locate portal, and now Telin's basically flat broke.
Telin Kingfisher
Are we assuming a nights rest before we begin our actual adventuring?
I assume the ship takes all of us to Mechanicas, and Team Abyss leave via a portal, though the order of those events is swapable.
Telin Kingfisher
Just out of curiosity, what would Shiela due with an alter/bed/medbay. Isn't all her healing done via magic?
Green Smashomancer
True, but you cant very well have a place for magic healing without setting the scene, can you? Which is why I think putting it in it's own room would be good. Plus, somewhere to work when I pick up magic weapon crafting at lv 7.
The beds for sleeping, of course.

Hey all, we haven't heard from our GM in a week and PMs are still disabled on their account. Say we give them another week and then make an assessment on what happens next if anything?
Sparrow the Half Celestial
We lost him again in the other thread I am in with him as well.
Telin Kingfisher
I hope he's not gone. Another week sounds good to me.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
As Gilly would say "Get there cross bridge when we that"
Gilly Geitmenn
Hey all I know it hasn't quite been a week yet but I have moment to discuss what I am thinking. I'd like to run a Planescape game, which is a good second place to playing in one. It wouldn't be an original game, instead I'd run one of the old modules converted to pathfinder.
I wouldn't be willing to run two tables but I could fit 6 people in one. I probably would open up another requirement thread and have you redo characters. I'm not a fan of allowing templates onto PCs but custom races are fine.
The other thing is I'd want factions to be an important component. A lot of the modules have faction politics as a factor and that means more if PCs are members. I'd like for 50% or more of PCs to have joined.
Thoughts, comments, or objections?
Of course if the current game goes somewhere I will shelve this idea.
