Kallie Silversun |

Here's Kallie Silversun, pretty close to being done.

Abasi Blakros |

Profile complete for Abasi Blakros (though mostly lacking gear until we discuss starting wealth & etc.)

Jaya Farwynd |

Spellbook and gear aren't done, but Jaya's mostly ready as well :-)
Precise visuals still very subject to change, having trouble finding an art reference that matches her...

Kallie Silversun |

"Kallie Thunderhoof!! What are you doing?!?"
I think it's a little obvious, Kallie thinks but stops herself short of responding out loud to her mother. The young colt had bolted the moment Earthmother Ryli showed up to interrupt their clandestine meeting, leaving Kallie alone to face her wrath.
She pulls herself out of the bed of grasses and busies herself with finding her top, ignoring the imperious stare of the Earthmother. Once she finds her garment, she turns to face her mother while covering up her small breasts with deliberate slowness. She'd long gotten past the shame that her mother has tried to instill in her over her frequent dalliances with the young stallions of the herd. Her hind legs stomp a bit as her tail swishes away the stray grass covering her flank. "What does it look like?"
Ryli fumes. "How many times have I told you? This is not our way. You choose your mate for life. Togrua is six years younger than you. He's not ready to take a mate."
Kallie rolls her eyes as the Earthmother looms over her. She was easily twice her size -- almost three times, considering how heavy she was with her most recent foal -- just like all the other adult centaurs of the herd. Kallie was, truthfully, past time to take on a mate but her small size had caused everyone to decide to wait. She was sixteen, but still appeared to be a centaur half her age.
"So does that mean I am?" Kallie asks her mother defiantly.
That made Ryli falter for a moment. But she shakes her head. "No, you're not ready either. There's still hope you'll grow soon. And then you can choose--"
"No, Mother! That's just it! I may never grow any bigger, and even if I did, I wouldn't want just one! Why do females have to share?"
"It's the Thunderhoof way. It's the centaur way. Our herd--"
Kallie throws up her hands, interrupting again. "Don't go on about the herd, Mother. You always get overly traditional when you're about to foal."
Earthmother Ryli folds her arms, scowling. "You know I'm the most progressive Earthmother this herd has ever known. If it weren't for me, you'd never had known Shion or Embreth. Or visited the cities of the humans and the elves. You've done far more than most fillies have ever gotten to do before."
Kallie frowns, not feeling especially grateful. Her loins still ached for release, and she figured it would be weeks before she would be able to talk Togrua or one of the other colts into fooling around with her. And in the meanwhile, she'd have her younger siblings to remind her of her stunted growth. Her oldest sibling Mory, born about seven months after Ryli returned from her big mission, has already been chosen by a pair of mares and has sired two foals of his own. Kallie's next-oldest sister, Setsu, chose her mate last summer. Shalelu will be next, likely ready to take the trial and choose her mate in a few month's time.
The frustrations and reminders piled up and showed no signs of relief. "It's not enough, Mother. I'm tired of being treated like a foal. I want to be an adventurer like you were."
That causes Earthmother Ryli to look troubled. She shakes her head sadly. "It's a deadly profession, Kallie. I died. Your father died. Your mother died. We fought because we had to; it wasn't an 'adventure.' It's not safe."
Kallie sets her jaw defiantly. "I know all that. I know of Mom, and Papa Eugeni, and all that stuff about Karzoug. But there's others, right? Other Runelords that might be out there ready to wake up? Someone should check that out, right?"
Ryli lets out an exasperated sigh. "The Runelords are wizards of incredible power and resources. Their ruins aren't just old buildings to be explored; there's all sorts of monsters and traps within. It's too dangerous for a-- for you."
"I'm not a filly, Mother." She fumes; it's the same story over and over. If she were of normal centaur stature, everything would be different. She wouldn't be treated like a child. She could choose her life for herself. She hated it, and she hated the look of pity on her Mother's face and the faces of the herd.
"I know that, dear. It's just that--"
"It's just what? I look like one? That this is how you'll always see me? That I'll have to watch my brothers and sisters all grow up past me, mate, and have foals of their own?" She ignores her Mother's head shaking. "Because that's what it feels like."
"Kallie," Earthmother Ryli says, sounding sympathetic.
The diminutive centaur throws up her hands and shakes her head. "No, that's it. You once said that it'll one day be my choice whether to leave the herd or stay with it and keep their traditions. That you'll respect my decision and you won't try to change it.
"Well, I've decided. I'm leaving. Even if it means being an outcast."
Ryli looks stricken. Her head shakes vehemently, while her big belly with another foal swings back and forth. "No, Kallie. Please, don't--"
"You promised."
That shocks Ryli into silence. The quiet between them grows, Kallie standing defiantly looking up at her mother while Ryli stays silent but wishing fervently that her daughter would change her mind.
Finally, Ryli nods. "So I did. But I also promised that you wouldn't ever be alone. If you choose to leave, please don't go alone into the world. We've got friends. Perhaps they will be your herd."
Kallie thinks on that, then nods. "Okay."

Shiloh Kailani |

Here's Shiloh! There will likely be a few more tweaks (especially once the gear situation gets clarified), but this profile should be close to the final product.

Jeevika Kailani |

Wait, isn't your name Shion, honey?

Shiloh Kailani |

Says the gal who kept forgetting Aunt Elthariel's name had an 'l' in it and thought Aunt Zoli's surname was Tortellini!
Her name has always been Shiloh (pronounced Shy-low). It was only after Jeevika got back from Xin-Shalast and checked the paperwork did she realize that she had been royally fumbling her youngest's name the entire time. The second 'h' looked like an 'n', and Jeeves has a history of forgetting that 'l' exists in Elven names.

Jeevika Kailani |

Also, didn't you have black hair and sea blue eyes like your sisters?

Shiloh Kailani |

I did, but my hair gradually got blonder as I aged, and my eyes turned emerald green when my wicked cool Oracle powers manifested. I mean, it's not unprecedented in this family; your peepers used to be lilac.

Abasi Blakros |

Fun to be able to see (at least a draft of) everyone's builds now!
----
While we're interviewing Shiloh, I'm curious about your build.
What made you small?
And how'd you get +5 Init?
(I suspect both are on the sheet, but if so I missed them)
---
Embreth, while I think Abasi grew up in Absolom (and largely just inside the Blakros Museum), he's a Dex-based combatant, so I figure he spent at least some time in Sandpoint, studying the basics of Dex melee at Zoli's Chaldira Zuzaristan School of Swashbucklery. Maybe I got to know you there?
---
Jaya, did you grow up in Absolom? It's a big city but you'd surely know about Argor. Wondering if we've met, and if so under what circumstances?
---
Others, how much time have you spent around Lord Constantine?

Shiloh Kailani |

1) I drank a Potion of Reduce person and bribed a wizard to make it Permanent because Pryde (my pet tiger) would have been too smol to carry me around otherwise.
2) -1 Dex, +2 Warrior of Old Trait, +4 Mismatched Half-Elf Racial Trait = +5 Initiative. For some reason, Mismatched isn't on my character sheet. I actually had the Noble Scion: War feat like that pulp comic superhero Garland for a crazy +11, but I ultimately dropped it in favor of more progress in the Mounted Combat family of feats.
3) That's a silly question, Absai! You know darn well that I spent many months of my childhood at Uncle Argor's estate, listening to all the stories about his stunning rise to prominence and power.

Jaya Farwynd |

I mostly assume that Auronee would've wanted to get very far from the Starstone after the test. And I don't think she spent time there while she was monstrified if I understand things correctly, so while I assume she's heard a lot about it, she was probably brought up elsewhere.
My thought is that Jaya was first brought up in villainous seclusion, and then probably near another lodge if Auronee was able to return to the Society, but not the Grand Lodge itself.
Actually, scratch the seclusion, Kaer Maga is big and weird enough for Auronee to lose even her monstrified-Society-traitor-self in the crowd. After her experiences back in Absalom though, it sounded like she reconnected with family, which would be back in Taldor/Oppara. Then after she struck out on her own she headed straight back to Varisia...
So I'm not sure she'd have met Argor. She'd definitely be aware of him though. Depends on how involved he ended up being in Sandpoint?

Embreth Tileani |

Abasi - Yeah, we've probably met. I think Embreth spent most of his life in Varisia, mainly in Sandpoint. But at some stage he went to study with Nyugelle, and also with Earthmother Ryli. Ryli was first, and then he was a s&+# druid apprentice, so Zoli tried Nyugelle, but he was a s#$$ alchemist, etc. Now he's just drifting about Sandpoint being rebellious while nominally enrolled in the Chaldira Zuzaristan School of Swashbucklery.

Kallie Silversun |

The way I figure it, Kallie never made it to Absalom until after she left the herd. She had visited some of the towns and cities of Varisia when the herd did, and sometimes traveled with Ryli when she went without the rest of the herd for the more private visits with the other Varisian Rangers.
Once she left the Thunderhoofs and became Kallie Silversun again, she visited Papa Eugeni who started training her in the arcane arts. At some point, he'd teleport her to Absalom to meet Argor Constantine for additional training.
Kallie wouldn't stay in Absalom very long, since even though she would at first be extremely enamored of the massive city, eventually it would chafe and she'd want to go back to Varisia. Besides, that's where the Thassilonian ruins are. She'd learn the basics of being a wizard, then head back to Varisia.
Kallie considers Shion/Shiloh and Embreth her best friends, and probably becomes friends with Abasi while in Absalom. She sticks around Sandpoint enough that she would know Jaya (or Jaya would know of her -- a small centaur living in town is something that stands out).

Cosmic Dream Lord |

As per Thron's notes:
"Curious about the Varisian adventurers who dropped so much coin in his shop, [Argor] eventually teleports to Sandpoint to check it out. He sees the business potential provided by the Glassworks and purchases the building, turning it into an enclave and school for wizards. His names William Lightstaff the Headmaster of the Enclave, and takes on a series of new apprentices over the years. He visits it from time to time, and respite his harsh treatment of William early on in their relationship, the two become close friends and business partners."
Unless Auronee took extra care to hide herself, I imagine that William Lightstaff would have eventually noticed her and reported to Argor that the Farwynds were in Sandpoint. How that would play out would be up to Thron, but since Cole likely told him what happened to poor Classy (I recall that the cat was sent to get help of the Argorian variety), I also imagine Argor - an officer of Absalom law - would not be very happy with Auronee. By extension, the Enclave might be how Jaya eventually met him.

Stalwart |

I definitely love the Kaer Maga idea for Auronee. That's a great, weird place that I could see her visiting while in search of a cure for her body once her mind was restored.
Auronee certainly knows Argor and vice-versa, and how he'll respond if he ever sees her again is something I'd like to know.
Another thing, after the Test of the Starstone, it's possible Auronee could check out the Chaldira Zuzaristan School of Swashbucklery to see if it's worth sending Jaya there (if she had any interest in swordplay). Auronee's a skilled duelist, so I could see her being interested in evaluating such a school.
One other thing: I'd mentioned I had a couple other ways Cladissa's fate could have turned out. One of the ways I'm most enamored of (to the point that I was this close to going with instead of the goddess thing), was that when Cladissa steps through the door, she's in the alternate timeline where everything worked out. She's queen regent of Galt, with four children, a loving husband, and essentially a happy ending.
The sad part is, she disappears from this timeline entirely, and is simply assumed to have been another soul lost to the Test of the Starstone.
Let me know if you all like that better than the Goddess of Failure thing, and we could go that route for the Legacy game. I'm about fifty-fifty.

Embreth Tileani |

It doesn't really effect Embreth, so I'm cool either way. In my mind it's your character, your choice.

![]() |

I honestly prefer the Goddess of Failure ending. Why? Well, let's look at Classy's profile...
"Goddess of failure, perseverance, resilience, and forgiveness"
Hmm...
I know someone who really lived by those themes...
After a lifetime of believing that all the Good gods were inept, it would be truly ironic if she ended up serving one until the end of time.

Kallie Silversun |

And that way, I have an aunt who's a herald of a goddess!

Thron |

Quicker than intended post to explain my absence lately:
1. Kid: he’s okay, but been battling a virus for about a week and a half. Finally been symptom free for about two to three days.
2. Work: still working as much OT as I can grab.
3. Wife Aggro: anytime I so much as THINK I have free time to post, she uses her super-wife-mind-reading-powers to come up with something for me to not have free time. As is, I’m hiding in the bathroom to post this to all my games. Example 2, today was secretly planned to be a big day of relaxation and posting. She and the kid were supposed to be at school. Instead, she wanted me to keep the kid. Reason: just because.
4. Interviews: been to multiple interviews lately trying to get into a better job that will require less OT. No such luck so far, with one last major option within my hospital in process. Low odds of getting picked. May have to start looking outside of my facility.
I’m PLANNING on tomorrow being my 1 “me day” in the past few weeks and getting some posts caught up. We will see how that goes.

Jaya Farwynd |

Really glad to hear your kid's doing okay! (Though sorry everything else is so hectic...)
I can imagine Auronee forcing Jaya to take sword lessons, and Jaya just HATING it (especially with the whole rapidly and unevenly aging thing, she's had years and years of that growth-spurt clumsiness where you're not quite used to how big you are), so that sounds funny enough to be canon.
I'm not sure the timing of when Auronee would've been forcing her to do this lines up well with Auronee being inconspicuously near Sandpoint. It's worth noting that by the time Jaya's around there she's adventuring and researching on her own behalf, so there doesn't necessarily have to be an Encounter between Auronee and Argor (though it's fine if there is).
The link between Jaya and Eugeni seems a lot stronger - he's certainly got the resume for Auronee to have sought him out regarding restoring her to her original form (and as a very arcanely powerful planetouched misfit, possibly an inspiration for some of Auronee's experiments on Jaya), and especially once Jaya got curious about the Thassilonians she would have tried very hard to track him down to learn from his adventures as well as his skills.
(The whole 'Papa Eugeni'/ Master Silva apprenticeships as well as a shared fascination with the Thassilonians seems like Jaya and Kallie could easily be more than casually aware of each other too.)

Eugeni Silva |

I'm not sure to what extent Eugeni can be bothered with teaching people. He probably blows them off most of the time, or is unreachable on another plane. I guess if Jaya was persistent enough she would learn just from being around his demi-plane hideout, and he'd eventually teach her some stuff here and there.
Edit:He'll probably rent space from Argor's school, and use that as a base for the portal to his private demiplane. Titanicus could probably teach Jaya quite a bit as well. Eugeni would continue to make simulacra in his retirement.

Kallie Silversun |

Would Eugeni blow off Kallie too? That'd be rough.
Ryli would have told Kallie about her... unique parentage, especially after she reaches maturity and is half the size of a normal centaur. It'll be hard for her to wrap her mind around, but there'll certainly be a point where she'll reach out to him.

Jaya Farwynd |

I'm not necessarily thinking a long in-depth apprenticeship, but... well, persistent is definitely a good descriptor for Jaya :-p

No. His daughter is slightly different than some slightly random person. He'd try to be there for her when he's in Varisia, but he'd still suck at it. He wouldn't ignore her, but he doesn't really do the emotion thing well, so she might not like him.

Oh, that's got potential. Now I *really* want to see how at least one of those conversations went.
I imagine that Eugeni would have encouraged her to stay with the herd while she was still immature, right? So then how would he react when she shows up, saying that she left for good, and is now an Outcast?Especially when she says she wants to live with him?

DM Thron |

So you guys can go ahead and be getting a feel for your characters as well as maybe do some of these desired interactions with some of the original PC’s, I’m going to let you guys kick off some RP as you desire, sort of like Level - 0 style stuff. No combat. Just RP.
Some assumptions regarding RotR characters...
1) They are victorious.
2) There was some emotional tolls.
3) Leave things very, VERY general. No detailed assumptions of events in RotR’s conclusion until they unfold actually in-game there.
There may be more caveats to follow, but for now, you guys can go with that. Sounds like everyone’s PC is based in Sandpoint except maybe Abiri and Shiloh, so RP it as such. If either of the others wish to join you in Sandpoint, Argor has the means to send you there.
So, set the scene you desire, as follows:
In Sandpoint: Embreth, Kallie, and Jaya
In Absalom: Abiri, Shiloh
I will RP NPC’s as appropriate and able, but remember this is all PRE-CAMPAIGN interactions. No adventuring yet. Keep it mundane.
That is...if you want.

Abasi Blakros |

Hey Thron,
First, I'm glad your son's doing a bit better.
Second, how do you feel about us playing our own old characters...e.g.Zoli, Ryli? (Now, and during the campaign?)
Third, Abasi can't believe that his own dad keeps misremembering his name. Just because you wanted him to go by Arturo... ;0)

You may stay in my plane, but you will not disturb my work. You may not accompany me to another plane, because you would die within moments and your mother would be upset. Enjoy the library, do not break my things! If you violate these rules, I will be forced to provide you with some money and ask you to leave. You claim to be an adult, act like it. Now, I was in the middle of an experiment....

"Can I help...?" Kallie asks just as he floats away.
Twisting her mouth in a near-pout, she looks around at her surroundings. What does the plane look like?
She spends a while in the library looking at various tomes that pique her interest, then takes a break to gallop around any place that's got the room to let her do it. After running at a good clip for several sustained minutes and working up a sweat, she stops to cool down and explore a bit further. She locates a small, rarely-used basin and refreshes herself.
That experiment has to be almost done by now, she thinks, and goes to look for him, to see if he's done or if he's ready for a break for a meal.

I dunno. I guess his plane looks like a Varisian travelers' camp in an idealized version of an early summer wood. In the center of the camp there would be a weird tower made of colorful house wagons stacked to the sky. It is peopled by nymphs, and Titanicus is there. The woods are full of magical beast simulacra and fey simulacra. The tower is like the TARDIS, bigger on the inside. Does this break the rules? Probably. We'll just say he did it with wishes or something. It's like an endless library with seemingly random side chambers full of arcane paraphernalia and clones of Eugeni.
"I do not eat, child. How very mundane. If you require sustenance you will need to exit this realm, create it magically, or forage in the wood outside. I would allow you to help me were you not a mere neophyte. You must study constantly to improve your erudition before gaining the capability of assisting me. Now, please, leave me be! If you must pester someone, go speak to Titanicus. His knowledge exceeds your own by several orders of magnitude. He will tutor you without complaint."

DM Thron |

Okay, so, looks like we have our cast of main characters essentially locked in.
Now we need to do a bit more work on the "State of the World" development, which is not ENTIRELY going to rest on my shoulders. I have some stuff planned that is off limits, which I will state if anyone tries to suggest something that would interfere with it. Otherwise, this is a collaborative effort.
So...
1) Sandpoint - How are things there now? I picture the town has basically rebuilt entirely, maybe even expanded a little. It's still a small town though.
As for the leading council/"Noble Houses":
Valdemar - Old Man Valdemar finally died, leaving his son Edric Valdemar as his heir to his seat and holdings.
Scarnetti - After the destruction of most of his property and the way his House had been viewed and treated with the rise of the "Varisian Rangers," Titus Scarnetti sold off his holdings and vacated the area. It is now owned by William Lightstaff.
Kaijitsu - Vacant Seat?
Deverin - Lady Deverin is getting on in years, and while she has maintained her position as Mayor, this year she has decided to not run for re-election. It is a bit of a focus of the local conversations as to who will fill the role?
Businesses: Glassworks are now "Lightstaff Institute of Arcane Learning." The Rusty Dragon...is it rebuilt? Who owns it?
__________
2) Absalom - Little has really changed here, politically and physically. Argor is on the High Council, Lord Gyr is still the Primarch. Anyone else got some input?

Kallie Silversun |

With Eugeni
Kallie tries to keep the crestfallen look off her face. "All right. But if you ever, you know, want to talk... about... other things, just find me."
Survival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Foraging in the woods is tougher than she expected, not really ever having been one of the proficient gatherers of the herd. With empty bellies, she wanders to find Titanicus to learn from him. Unfortunately, her growling stomachs made it hard to concentrate.
She ultimately decides to leave the demiplane to go on a food run, and comes back after a few hours with armloads and a pack full of foodstuffs. She then resumes her studies with Titanicus and her own pursuits in the library.
She starts leaving notes for Eugeni where he can find them so she doesn't pester him too much.
Dad,
I saved you an extra sweet roll from the market. I know you said eating's mundane, but these are really good. You should try one. If you don't I'll end up eating it and it'll show up on my flank. Come find me in the library. -- K
Dad,
Mama Ryli once said you killed a wendigo with one spell. And that before you did that, it grabbed you and would have carried you away so you would have died alone. Sounds scary. Anyway, if you want to tell me your side of it, I'll be with Titanicus today. -- K
Dad,
I'm really struggling with the transmutation concepts. Makes me think of that time Mama Ryli told me you got turned into a statue. What was that like? Could you still think? Or were you just stoned? Haha. Anyway, if you want to help me figure out what I'm doing wrong, find me in the garden. I'll be trying to enlarge myself. I'm sick of being small. See you! --K

DM Jelani |

If Eugeni is going to live in a demiplane which is inside the Lightstaff Institute, then he would definitely want to spruce up the place. He was quite impressed with the scale of Xin Shalast. So he'd probably build a giant sculpture of the Varisian Rangers, like the size of a small Mt. Rushmore. He'd redo the temple to be the most impressive temple in Varisia, expand the harbor, build huge walls for the town so it doesn't get overrun by giants again, etc. It will still be a small place, but it will be the most amazing small place in Northern Avistan, if not all of Golarion.

Eugeni Silva |

Eugeni checks on Kallie once a day to see how she is progressing. Unless she is excellent, he shows no sign of praise. If she is excellent he may say, "Not bad." or some other minor form of reassurance. Despite her obvious need to connect, he remains emotionally distant, though she thinks its not out of spite. He just seems basically incapable of getting out of the logical part of his brain. His intellect and power are such that normal mortal things like emotion just don't occur to him, he seems puzzled by them if anything. As if he can no longer remember what it was like before Desna remade him into one of the most powerful arcane beings on Golarion.

Shiloh Kailani |

Hey, everyone! Remember that time in Xin-Shalast when Mother was literally handed a Scroll of True Resurrection on a silver platter? (Yeah, I know in a Bag of Holding, but details!)

DM Thron |

So where is he building this sculpture precisely? And basically using his magic to redesign the entire town into some lavish but small place to live?
I'm assuming by using spells such as Wall of Stone and Fabricate?

Shiloh Kailani |

Remember that time when everyone started acting out of character?
Well, in my experience, Auntie, there's almost always an explanation for why someone starts acting weirdly. Sometimes, it's magic messing with their minds. Other times, it's just... they've been hiding something major for days on end, and because of new circumstances, they just... crack.

Eugeni Silva |

Yeah, I mean we're years post RotRL. I'm sure he's long since mastered wish. He can fabricate stuff, polymorph any object, wish it into existence, etc. He could also have Argor and William help him.
I would replace the old light with the sculpture I guess.
Edit: it's just kind of a broken turd right now. Unacceptable

Eugeni Silva |

I would tell him there is no inherent value in something merely because of its antiquity. And then ignore him. He is an ant.

Ryli Marwari |

So there's a giant Mount Rushmore of us? Which Riley did you use? Riley, Rilee or Ryli?
(It matters because if it's Ryli that will have a negative impact on the number of times the centaur herd visits.
