All set. In the buff round, I cast Longarm (round 1 standard), giving my claws a 10ft reach.
In the AoO spoiler, I rolled an AoO and also a readied attack (round 2 standard) if the foe gets within 10 feet. I think if either hits, my free (Cornugon Smash) action is triggered, and successful intimidation triggers my swift (Hurtful).

I won't be posting this coning weekend. Attempting 110k one shot. The whole affair is likely to take 24 hours.
Good luck with the run Mort! ;)
Piotr Tataru
Whoa... 110k... that is... amazing. Good luck!!!!
GM Mort
Thank you. I'm a little peeved about race organization atm as I'm in a group that the aim is to finish in 19hs. Sure, it's a nice goal, but I'm not sure if I am up to it. I think under 24 hours is more realistic.
Waiting for Kilarra. Maybe I'll give another 24 hours then I'll bot.
Rose Fatale
I can’t even fathom this distance. A half marathon is enough to impress me.
Best of luck!
EDIT - okay. I CAN fathom that distance. It’s my commute to my previous job—69 miles! Ha! I don’t even like driving that far, and you’re running it!
Kilarra Dimir
I'll get a post in within 21 hours. Sorry. I'm struggling
Kilarra Dimir
Trying to take it one step at a time
Piotr Tataru
That is all anyone can ask, good sir. :)
Kilarra Dimir
Thank you both. I find it very frustrating that some days I'm basically a different person. Today I feel strong and capable, but who knows about tomorrow. I'm going through mental health programs right now, but it takes awhile.
GM Mort
Just keep us informed if you have a bad day. I can bot as necessary or even pause the game.
Kilarra Dimir
It may not happen. If I have the ability to post in discussion, I can probably post in gameplay.
GM Mort
If someone had made the knowledge check earlier I would have told you that option even before you took damage from first gaze attack, but since no one did, I don't feel it's in character to be adverting gaze from the start, though once you've taken it's gaze once, your character, even though knowing nuts about the creature should have sense to just...look away.
GM Mort
Unfortunately the creature was invisible so you can only identify the creature if you see it - which was not possible until Winter entered the room. Rose can see the creature due to see invisibility, but violet can't.
GM Mort
Kilarra - do you mind then, if in 48 hours there are no posts from you say in the middle of a combat, I will just bot to keep things moving?
GM Mort
That being said if Rose described the creature to Violet, Violet could make the check too.
GM Mort
1 person marked this as a favorite.
110k is done. With full support, which is awesome. Because I can run with minimal gear on me and hydration + nutrition is damn on point. Was blessed with rain and generally cool weather throughout the run. And the race director was with us running, so with him yelling at us like a drill sergeant, we didn't get lost much.
Elasped time: 18h 37 min. Which is something that far exceeded my expectations, but I think the race director knows my capabilities better then I know myself. Apparently I have hidden potential that I've never really tapped.
Piotr Tataru
That is AMAZING! Very very very very good Mort.
Piotr Tataru
I completely missed it. Not sure how.
Kilarra, don't forget you have a mithral shield if you want to shield bash her a bit.
Violet Femme
@Mort, if Piotr is bodyguarding Rose, would Violet also get that protection if she occupies Rose’s space?
Piotr Tataru
I think bodyguard is used when the person is attacked. So if Violet is being attacked, Piotr could use one of his AOOs to protect her or if Rose is being attacked he could do the same. But it wouldn't be one use to protect both of them.
Violet Femme
Ah, yes, that’s what I actually meant. Could Piotr protect either/or?
Violet is too weak to take a beating, but if light does double damage, her attack hurt more than Rose’s. And she can do it again next round!
Garrosh Saurfang
People, just to let you all know I am traveling from tonight until Saturday for a small vacation. Should have access to wifi and whatnot, but probably not much time to post. So if you need to press on, feel free to bot me.
GM Mort
Have a nice vacation Garrosh! Also bodyguard and saving shield is target related so you cannot shield both even if they share the same space. You'll need to choose.
Piotr Tataru
I think he'd normally have to decide when the person is attacked, so whoever is attacked first will get his protection. Including the bits about them. Which is vastly impractical in PBP to be asked, do you want to protect from this attack. Hence the first being attacked algorithm. But if you'd rather him pick a target I guess Violet.
Bodyguard
Benefit: When an adjacent ally is attacked, you may use an attack of opportunity to attempt the aid another action to improve your ally’s AC. You may not use the aid another action to improve your ally’s attack roll with this attack.
Saving Shield
Benefits: Whenever an adjacent ally is the target of an attack, you can, as an immediate action, grant that adjacent ally a +2 shield bonus to AC. You must be wielding a light shield, heavy shield, or tower shield to use this feat.
GM Mort
Garrosh - waiting for your turn. If you are on vacation still, please let me know.
Rose Fatale
@Mort, did you check my GM note? I was asking if Rose could spider-climb and remain on the ceiling while fighting.
If I can still use hands to attack,
• Standard: cast Spider Climb
• Move: move above Piotr
(This is my preferred turn, if Spider Climb does not diminish my ability to attack with current Morphic Weapons.)
In that case, I thought she might get the AoO.
I didn’t move her on the map because I wasn’t sure what move would be legal.
I had two alternatives in blue text.
GM Mort
Just a fyi on spider climb:
The subject can climb and travel on vertical surfaces or even traverse ceilings as well as a spider does. The affected creature must have its hands free to climb in this manner.
So in order to climb and stay on walls you need your hands free and would not be able to take AOO except with gore/any other body part.
Rose Fatale
Oh, in that case, I only get one attack, which missed.
I’ll use my move action to remorph weapons, swapping claws for talons, and just for aesthetics, a stinger instead of gore.
(Regardless of what I do first, I miss since my first attack missed.)
Violet Femme
@Mort,
I had Violet attack with an SLA last round, mostly so she could use Startling Appearance. But there’s actually a 20% the enemy could roll <16.
Is she immune to Violet’s attack, or did you not notice me casting it?
Piotr Tataru
is rose on the ceiling or the ground? Just trying to figure out if there is room for Piotr and Ann to move up without blocking Kilara.
Rose Fatale
is rose on the ceiling or the ground? Just trying to figure out if there is room for Piotr and Ann to move up without blocking Kilara.
I was on the floor, else I couldn’t have moved 35’ in round 1. (My speed is 40’.)
Hopefully, I can be on the wall or ceiling from a swift action.
If not, Rose could use her swift to step neck while Ann moves in, then next round, Ann returns the favor. One way or the other, with the enemy cornered, swift actions can keep everyone in melee.
Come to think of it, I’ll have Rose step back this round after Violet acts.
GM Mort
Your need to move to the ceiling if you aren't already. I thought you were. About lesser confusion as an SLA, I explained that undead are immune to mind affecting effects. Lesser confusion is mind affecting -basically you can say anything like calm emotions, confusion.. anything that forces an opponent to do something it wouldn't normally do is generally under mind affecting category, so if you're facing undead foes, I will not roll will save - they are immune.
Violet Femme
"Well you couldn't sell it for anything, so go ahead." Kilarra laughs. Turning around to look in Rose and Violet's direction, she calls "We got the go ahead? Spy any traps?"
I could probably say “no” with that roll. If there is a trap, I doubt s DC21 would spot it.
But I’m getting kinda used to PF2 DCs at Lv.15, so any number below 30 seems low to me.
Rose Fatale
Rose, just my curiosity - how do you use Acrobatics to move, and still full attack? :P
I don’t. That was a mistake. @Mort, no hits for Rose since my first attack missed and I meant to copy-paste one attack, not all three. I was so fixated on not rolling the Cornugon Smash (because undead) that I forgot to exclude the other attacks.
Garrosh Saurfang
Pounce might be something good for Rose, with all those attacks.
Rose Fatale
I’m not sure what feat would allow that. I don’t have IUS, for example, so Tiger Pounce would require three prerequisites. But there are tons of PF1 feats I’m not aware of.
Was there a particular feat you had in mind, Garrosh?
I know of a Lv.12 vigilante talent that allows move + full attack, but Rose’s archetype prevents her from learning it.
GM Mort
Escape artist is a standard action yes. Unless variant skill rules are used and even so you need 15 ranks before we're talking...
GM Mort
Oh tripping is certainly amusing from the GM's point of view. The issue with this place is there are some things here and there to be found, but they're trapped(to the level beyond your perception take 10), so now I'm faced with a conundrum - do I bot that you automatically search everything and take whatever that comes, or just leave the loot alone?
I want to give player agency, but at the moment I'm not sure what the party chooses to do. And the search points may not even be clear, unless next time if there's a search point I bold it?
