No problems on the Oldstone link, could even be employers of Vargas’ normal job.

Ok thanks for the reply! Then much of my inventory creation will depend on whether or not, as a party, we are interested in item creation feats. If so, I'll fit one into my build if at least one other person thinks they could fit on into theirs. Maybe I take craft wondrous now and someone else takes craft arms and armor later? Or we can forgo it altogether. :)

Oric is a hill dwarf so he's not from a noble house. But he does have a lot of stubborn loyalty. Maybe his family has traditionally worked for either Oldstone or Blackstone?

Want to tie backstories together? I could have Kragg be your contact. Oldstone comes across as being a very ambitious house, who’d likely see much value in the knowledge that a spy could provide. Kragg also has +8 Stealth, meaning that he can get around unseen when needed...such as bringing jobs and relaying information from Vargas.

I’m sure that Oldstone could use a dwarf of his talents!

Also: Kragg’s Familiar

Because there are skills I want him to have (K Local/Nobility/Engineering) And didn’t have the skill points for, he is now VMC Wizard. Sage Familiar gained at lvl3. Chose a thrush so that it can actually talk to him.

Absolutely 0 Combat useage. But it will provide him with the expert advice that he so desperately needs.

Hmmm .. with my crunch almost finished I'm seeing that it might be time to change flavor, given the deities available. I'll probably go with a dwarf who's a bit og a wild man and lives exploring the wilderness and finding new beasts to befriend/nearly be killed by. He's trained animals for House Oldstone before but is a transfer who hasn't settled down much. But despite his footloose ways, he has a deep, stubborn loyalty to the Dwarvish people.

Might end up changing name and image but things are basically there. Will be done tomorrow. Still the same monster tactician Inquisitor crunch. Anyone against the glory of wrestling wild bears will be hunted down by me! XD

Oxnard, Thurgrom Thunderhammer is ready for inspection.

@Kragg With a high int arcanist I am not sute you need a sage familiar. Especially as Ungebrochen, as a Storm Dwarf gets +5 on top for many actions involving Knowledge skills.

Looks good Thurgrom.

Jubal- if you're still watching this thread and interested go ahead and check in please.

Probably not...well definitely not. But it amuses me. And a backup doesn’t hurt. :)

Ungebrochen, real name Duncan Dawnstone is a young great nephew of Cheryll Dawnstone. As a youngling he did fell hard on his back and while he did recover his ability to walk with the help of clerical magic and many potions he never gained much musclemass. He instead concentrated on his mental studies.

Checking in. Need to finish the PC.

There are a few storm dwarves.

Yup, Storm, Stone and Hill seem to be the top choices.

Unbrochen-- Duncan Dawnstone's parents are Gerald Dawnstone and Mary Dawnstone nee Coal (a hill dwarf).

Gerald's father is Martino Dawnstone, whose father is Rubio Dawnstone, whose father is Daniel Dawnstone, who also father Syran Dawnstone (father of Sylvio Dawnstone- the MIA head of clan Dawnstone and husband of Cheryl Dawnstone).

Thugromm--

Eight generations back Bruidon Storm fathered two children-- Valmar Stormhammer who was the founder/patriarch of House Stormhammer and Tareth Thunder.

Tareth Thunder then father two children, Morton Thunderbar who was the foudner/patriarch of House Thunderbar, and your own 6 generations back grandfather Melkit THunderhammer, the foundner/patriarch of House Thunderhammer.

Of these three houses (Stormhammer, Thudnerbar, and Thunderhammer), Thudnerhammer has slowly become the most powerful/weatlthy/sucessful of the three.

The Stormhammer's most recent head, Valmoki, had essentially ruined their house.

The Thunderhammer fortunes have slipped across the past few generations, but you are hopeful when your father passes command of the house to you that you can change that direction.

Still working the Blackstone/Oldstone lines, will update when I have them hammered out a bit.

@Thugrom why so high int, isn´t Mynrughdaer a melee monster?
And your spellcasting is based on wis?

A good point. Storm Dwarves get +2 Int, but it doesn’t help the class very much. If I could make a suggestion?

Str (16) Dex (10) Con (16) Int (16) Wis (12) Cha (7)

Switch Lesser Noble (don’t need it to be a noble in this campaign) for Student of Philosophy (Intelligence To Diplomacy and Intimidate). Or take a Drawback like Pride (very Dwarven) or Attached (to your family signet ring)

You become horrible at lying (-2 Bluff) but very good at diplomacy and Intimidate. So a straight forward dwarf. You also won’t be any good at all with animals (-2 handle animal)

You remain great at crafting, have the same will save, and become better in close combat. Finally, you’re AC goes up by 1 point.

This also means that you won’t need Noble Scion of War. You can replace it with another Initiative feat (+4 Initiative one) or something Combat related (like Furious Focus)

Here is the alias I'm gong to use for my inquisitor.

I'll be ready to roll by 6 pm EST. I don't think we made a decision on item creation feats so I'll assume the party doesn't plan on having a couple of those?

GM, would you be willing to open up a gameplay thread for us to dot and delete? That way I'll see any updates here when I check my campaigns page.

Well, storm dwarves get a +2 to Int, and the mynrughdaer has a lot of skills. True, my spellcasting is WIS-based, but I won't access it for another level, and I thought that is something Thurgrom can work toward with ability score increases. Who knows? Perhaps Thurgrom will find a headband of inspired wisdom. Besides, Thurgrom is trying to be humble despite being a mynrughdaer AND a Thunderhammer!

The concept I have for Thurgrom has the storm dwarf being very diplomatic, thus I boosted his CHA a little, and gave him some good Diplomacy traits and feats. Oxnard did say we'll have to deal with intrigue as well as war.

Opened/linked the discussion and gameplay tabs.

Speaking of Diplomatic Dwarves

* Kragg: Diplomacy +11, Intimidate +4, Bluff -2, Sense Motive +8
* Thurgrom: Diplomacy +10, Intimidate +8, Bluff +1, Sense Motive +7
* Vargas: Diplomacy +7, Intimidate +3, Bluff +5, Sense Motive +4
* Duncan: Nope
* Rubius: Unknown, but currently nope (missing 3 adventuring feats and inquisition. Could have up to +8. Sense Motive +9)

Sneaky Dwarves

* Rubius: Stealth +10
* Vargas: Stealth +9 Disable Device +11
* Kragg: Stealth +8

Clan Crafters
* Duncan: Alchemist +13
* Thurgrom: Craft Weapons +11
* Kragg: Miner & Mason +7
* Vargas: Spy +5
* Rubius: Unassigned

Sky and Stone
* Stone: Kragg, Vargas
* Storm: Thurgrom, Duncan
* Hill: Rubius

And we’ll see how Jubal’s deep marshal magus fits in to this.

Kragg/Vargas--

Six generations ago, Star Stone had two sons, Cedric and Sinmar.

Cedric, later named the Blackstone, dug too deep in the quarries and unleashed a darkness on his line; Sinmar lived out his life as Stone, though his son Grant changed it to Oldstone.

In more recent times, Prinatar Blackstone had a daughter, Parianne, and a son Vallatar.

Vallatar fathered Galatar, father of Vargas.

Parianne married Mitchford Oldstone, and they had two sons Marcellus Oldstone and Kriegan Oldstone.

Marcellus, currently missing, but official leader of clan Oldstone has three sons, Xantar, Yimtar, and Zintar.

Kriegan Oldstone married Carnegie Sandstone and had Kragg Oldstone.

Kragg and Vargas are thus third cousins going back to Prinatar Blackstone, and more distantly related back to Star Stone.

(I have lineage's tracked from an amazing site called Family Echo and I will be putting up PDF prints for these as we go forward).

Thurgrom, would you be willing to craft me a mwk, +2 str rating composite longbow once gameplay starts? If so, I'll just purchase a starter bow then use that sweet baby once it's finished. It'll save me a couple hundred gold. I'd be happy to tip you a %.

Kragg: My social skill is sense motive at +9 like you said. You guys have the others covered.

Sure, just ask me in game.

Oldstone/Blackstone Family Tree illustrating that information is posted in the new Google Drive Folder here:

Dwarves of Gold Peak Folder

Another list:
Highest Str: 14 Thurgrom Rest 12 or 10
Highest Dex: 18 Oric and Kragg
Highest Con 19 Kragg
Highest Int 20 Ungebrochen
Highest Wis 16 Oric
Highest Cha 16 Vargas

Thanks!

Ungebrochen, sorry for the confusion but I decided to alter my character some to account for the fact that my deity is CN. Different name and slightly different stats. 14 str, still dex 18, and wis 15 (bumped immediately to 16 on level up).

I wanted to make my character linked by blood to the noble storms. That seems crowded now.

Would you be open to a minor noble c’oud or à fire dwarf? I would replan his build.

Let me know.

Any are fine Jubal-- the Cloud dwarf noble family Cirrus or Fire dwarf Ironfire are both around and could work in, or there's still room for another noble storm dwarf!

Thanks. I got inspired with a Thor build...

So, Durnim Hornblower / Cloud Dwarf / Barbarian/Oracle

Minor noble cloud dwarf linked to the Cirrus and Nimbus families by blood. Crunch in work. Then, background.

Nice family background program. :)

I have tweaked Vargas a little to shore up some social stats a bit.
