Bobie goes to dip his longspear in the spiders poison but doesn't find any only large pustules where the poison should be.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Uh..Bobie that's gross! What was wrong with this spider, partially undead?
Poppo doesn't linger long and instead moves over to the other stairs and has a listen.

Turngut |

Despite looking exhausted after his very brief period of rage, Turngut immediately grabs one of the massive legs in both of his hands and plants a foot on the dead spider husk. With a tusky grin, he looks over to Bobie and exclaims: Look, Wrinklebutt! Turngut is good at helping. Turngut good at listening! The last sentence he says a bit louder than necessary and gives a furtive glance at Beatrip.
After the 8th leg is neatly stacked in a pile, Turngut trots over to Poppo to back him up.

Don't we need to let Turngut rest a few moments before we rush up the next set of stairs? Who's wounded now?

Well, I'm half dead. That thing bit into my neck like my wife on our honeymoon night. Thought I was a goner. Turnybutt needs healing more. Beatrip should be just doin' a look see so we don't get surprised.

Turngut |

Turngut beams at Bobie's praise and a stream of drool rolls out of his mouth at the mention of grilled spider legs. Yummy yum yum!
In response to Nalia: Turngut feel good and ready to do more fighting. Hrumph! Spider hardly touched Turngut.
I just need 1 minute after raging to recover from fatigue. Only took 12 hp damage, so not too bad right now.

my chances of remembering to update that are well below slim to none ;)
LOL -- same problem I have.
Once healed, Poppo watches as Beatrip moves up the stairs, he looks a Bobie who trails behind...
How come your spirit is so noisy! Maybe I should do the scouting. He suggests.

Turngut |

my chances of remembering to update that are well below slim to none ;)
Don't play a Brawler/Barbarian!! Between raging and Martial Flexibility, I have to change my AC, saves and Effects (plus hp) almost every round!! lol
Crouching next to the halfling, Turngut whispers, What you see, Hoppo? Turngut little bit scared after big spider, but don't want scary ghost girl to know. She might yell at...YIP!! Turngut nearly jumps out of his skin as Beatrip glides up besides him.

Benjen Harris |

Poppo moves over to listen at the stairs and can make out the faint movement of something fleshy. Beatrip floats up the stairs and can clearly see tons of small fleshy pods that move slightly as if something is inside of them.
By my calculations Turngut is down 6HP, Bobie is down 9HP, and Nalia is down 6HP after the heals.

Poppo Hedgehopper |

Me too Turngut, me too! Poppo reassures the brawler.
Assuming we get a report back from Beatrip, Time to pound some flesh!
He gives the orc a playing slap on the leg and bounds up the stairs.

Turngut |

Following Poppo's lead, Turngut rumbles up the stairs and takes up a fighting stance next to the little man. Looking down at him, Turngut smirks. Turngut good at pounding. Hope stay back and Turngut pound!

![]() |

Do we need to plan a nights rest after each encounter? We did bring a group to help keep us safe up here. Or move on? If we move on I'll cast war mind on Turngut before we engage.
Before we move up there let me give us all a once over and make sure we're all doing ok. Between the spider biting us and those dogs, I don't know how we're moving.

A mother is never to far from her eggs as the two vampire brides quickly fly into the air 40ft off the ground both of them wielding shortbows. Our Prince doesn't take to kindly to you charging up his tower and camping at his front door. Bobie says before going into a daze off hunting good luck

I'm attacking the blob in front of me I guess? I'll five foot up to it and swing my sword. Then maybe we should fall back or at least get some of us down away from the arrows. I could try and shoot my bow from the stairwell and maybe snipe them while still having some cover. Maybe?

You will have to use two charges from Bobie's healers kit and one person heals 7HP. The same person cannot benefit from this again for another 24 hours and that took you an hour to do. Sound good?

![]() |

Wouldn't I get an AOO as well against the cyan one? I can use that prev. attack as my AOO I guess. Would it be that readied attack and an AOO?

Turngut |

AoO's are provoked when a monster leaves a threatened square. Cyan came directly up to you, so only entered one of your threatened squares. When Blue came up to Turngut, it left the square 10' away from him to get into the square adjacent to Turngut. Since Turngut has a longspear (reach weapon), he threatens the square 10' away. You can use your previous strike roll as the readied attack though!
I missed your previous post - you can remain in front of Turngut with your sword (and he can attack through your square with the spear. If Nalia prefers to use her bow, retreat behind Turngut and unleash the fury of the bow!! Turngut is using 2 defensive capabilities to keep his AC up.

Ok, thanks for explaining....again! I might get things right someday but by then they'll have changed the rules...oh wait, they did! Now I have to start all over again! I'll use that as my attack this round and I already five footed up to him so then I'd be done for the round.

Turngut kills the creature before it can even touch him but Nalia with her readied attack is just barely unable to hit. Poppo waits perhaps contemplating about large juicy lemons. Bobie will also delay much to chagrin of Beatrip.

I used my martial flexibility to take Deflect Arrows. I was hoping to surprise everyone with the next volley, but thought I'd better share since it may change strategy. Theatrics will have to take a back seat, lol.
I'm thinking that Turngut can block the stairs and take Combat Expertise and Fighting Defensively to buff the AC. If an arrow gets through, he can deflect 1/round. Nalia can snipe the brides and Poppo and Bobie can zap the spawn. Sound good? I think Turngut needs to feel heroic and feel like he's saving his friends so he can get over the funk his past is causing him currently.

As the first arrow flies in, Turngut shifts to his back foot and twists his right shoulder out of the way, barely avoiding the deadly projectile. The second arrow is close behind its mate, on target for Turngut's chest. Turngut's left hand snaps up and at the last moment, backhands the arrow out of alignment and it sails past him harmlessly.
Seeing the brides starting to leave, he roars up at them. No! No!! Turngut not running, Turngut here and fighting. Turngut will crush your puny babies with his hands if you no come back and fight.. Then, looking around and not seeing Poppo, he cries out: Hoppo!? Where Hoppo!?! Make Turngut big, Hoppo. Turngut will pound mushy baby vampires and then crush the mommies The latter part of his cry is partially directed to the vampire brides to try and get their attention and draw their ire.
I will wait for the brides responses. If they turn around, he will delay until after Nalia goes. If they continue for the bridge, he will double move to get down the stairs and run for the camp.
