Turngut |
Nooo! A natural 20 followed by a natural 19 for the confirmation!?! Oh great and benevolent GM. Please allow that roll to carry over to Beatrip's next attack! :)
Turngut blushes as Beatrip blows a kiss at him. (is that possible for an orc??)
Nalia Malphason |
Did you have Thraduik already act for the round? So he'll be in the way for Turngut's action? I would delay until after Turngut hopefully moves and tries to grapple to pull in. Trying to make sure I understand what is going on.
Benjen Harris |
The crit will not stay since I have said that it is 10ft drop down to the water several times now, I will give Bobie the fun time coin to make up for that fact.
Prince Sorrin AOO: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 261d10 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Thraduik will disengage moving behind everyone. Since Turngut currently doesn't have improved grapple so as Turngut goes to grapple the vampire he quickly stabs into the orcs chest. And again as Turngut tries to grapple Sorrin moves out of the way at the last moment Missed it by one again!
What do you delayed people do?
Nalia Malphason |
I got nothing, no reach ability.
Seeing Turngut scramble with Sorrin and again come out the worst for it, Nalia calls out to Malphas for aid for her friend.
CLW w/healing blessing: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 so 10hp healed?
spontaneous cast after swift healing blessing to increase heal by 50%. I don't think he can melee attack me but would five foot out of the way if I missed him having some sort of reach that I know about.
Poppo Hedgehopper |

I was always thinking Beatrip was a floating phantom thing. Really not sure what she is, except she's angry! Bummer on the missed crits for you both! Oh well, we're still alive.... for the moment...
Benjen Harris |
Poppo sprays some more acid on the vampire nearly landing it on the princes head. Nalia heals her very injured friend and Beatrip steps back next to Bobie.

Lol! I understand Ben. In addition to the hp, Turngut's AC, saves, CMD and various effects change almost every round! I'm thinking of just putting those stats in my post (rather than the header) so that it can be reviewed round by round. I didn't realize that the headers change for all posts if I make an edit. I went through my damage and heals and I was actually 4 off, but currently up with 7hp!

Nearly panicking, Turngut looks down at the blood gushing from his wound. His head spins with fatigue and now blood loss, but his yellow eyes remain fixed on the so called "Prince". With his muscles not responding the way he is used to, Turngut decides that grappling just won't work. Instead, he steadies his grip on his sword and swings wildly.

did bobE's last channel pos to harm do 3 damage to the prince or did he make his will save. I don't remember seeing that?
Matt, I was picturing the same thing but I have to admit the ruling makes sense and is consistent.
Beatrip steps up to the edge and tries again.

Benjen Harris |
Forgot to make that will save Bobie so he will just take the full damage thanks for the reminder! And if its not to trouble posting some of Turngut's stats round to round in a spoiler would be very helpful. Brawlers are one of the most complex classes in this game but are very cool Kanye.
Turngut can barely stand as he makes a meager attempt to slash at the vampire. Beatrip tries a slam against the vampire prince but misses while Bobie continues to use his newly recovered clerical ability. Nalia again heals her orcish friend. Poppo misses with his acid attack. Thraduik can't really do anything and just moves up behind Poppo.

Turngut gasps as he sees Sorrin tear into Beatrip with a blast of electricity. NO! NOOO! He yells as she blasts into tiny ectoplasmic bits. Still shaken and fatigued, he tries, but swings his sword meagerly.

Turngut again can't seem to land a strike on the vampiric figure being to exhausted from his initial rage. Nalia rushes forward and delivers a big slice across the chest of the Sorrin who merely winces in pain his red eyes falling on the warpriest of Malphas. Poppo flings a little bit more acid on the Prince which melts away at his pale skin. Bobie stunned by the sudden a quick death of his phantom is unable to land a hit with his spear on Prince Sorrin. Bloody... I ain't arguing with you Poppo. Thraduik says as he moves to the wall next to Poppo and readies his axe for an attack if Sorrin draws close enough.

Looking down briefly at his now substantial wounds he then looks up at Nalia and Turngut with all the malice in his eyes No! No! he screams as he now wields his bastard sword in two hands delivering a massive chop into Turngut 15 damage and then trying to deliver a second strike into Nalia but she is able to block the blow.
Everyone can go!
Turngut |
With bags under his eyes, the enormous Turngut slouches and stumbles back (5' step) and blocks Sorrin's path to Bobie. He slowly looks down at the gaping wounds on his body, the last of his life force ebbing away. Time slows and he looks slowly from Nalia valiantly deflecting Sorrin's desperate slices; Bobie's pale face, still in shock from the loss of his bitter but faithful little friend; and finally to little Poppo. Choking back a sob, he whispers, Turngut sorry, Hoppo. Can't stop bad man. Can't save brave Hoppo. Suddenly, time resumes its normal pace and Turngut, using the last bit of strength left in his body, lunges forward. Using the entirety of his 1600 lbs body, he slams the sword into Sorrin's body.

Benjen Harris |
As Turngut takes the massive blow from the Prince Sorrin he uses the momentum of the strike to move back five feet spin around and deliver a perfect strike across the neck of Sorrin sending the vampires head flying into the cold unforgiving water below. The body stands twitching for a second its falls to its knees and holds itself up with the crimson blade before collapsing to the stone ground. Your vision goes black again and you are once again in the large banquet hall at the top of Anor Colair. The decapitated remains of Prince Sorrin slumped at your feet. You have finally defeated the master of Anor Colair.
Looting Sorrin you find that his breastplate while not magical is made of a strange bright metal that makes the breastplate lighter than what it would normally be. The bastard sword wielded by Sorrin does detect as magical, if you have knowledge history go ahead and roll that DC:15. Finally you find a strange floating scarlet and blue spherical stone that also detects as magical.
Thraduik puts his hands on his knees breathing heavily Well I don't think anymore adventuring will be in my future to much running and to much danger.
Turngut |
Woo hoo!!

Finally, that fiend is put down, like the rabid dog he is....

Turngut falls backwards, landing on his rear end and lets the sword clatter to the ground. After a few moments, his energy returns as his fatigue ends (18 seconds later), but he is breathing heavily from the exertion and the woads that still cover his body even after Nalia's ministrations.
Puff, puff. Turngut could not hit -puff- bad man. Turngut tired, -puff- castle scary. Puff.

Poppo leaps in the air! You did it Turngut! What a slice, you killed the bad man! Now let me take a look here.
Benjen Harris |
Poppo recognizes the stone as a scarlet and blue sphere ion stone of fly. The bastard sword is a +1 blood crystal bastard sword.

I do not know if I can trust the Dove, but she did aid us
BobE will tell his companions about his vision and explain his new found powers.
Nalia, could this be one of the swords we are searching for? And I am concerned about this mask the crow wants. It may be out of our way, but if she wants it, I want to destroy it first. Makin' me a fool is one thing, but almost killing my friends.... her debt to me is growing and I will take it from her hide when I collect. Speaking of which..
Bobie will pick up the vampire's and knock his fangs out.
makin' a necklace out of these, unless any of you want 'em? Oh and Turngut thank you. You did much good today. I am honored to have you for a friend.
Poppo Hedgehopper |
I'm with you Bobie, Thraduik how do we get to Fogville? Poppo asks excited to search for the artifact.
Benjen Harris |
Blimey why on Vyn would you want to go there? Well first you'd have to get out these mountains and into the Heartland then at the crossroads of Tallfield take the road going due west past the Heart.
Turngut |
After a few minutes rest, when Poppo bounds up to congratulate him, Turngut hops to his feet and gives Poppo a huge bear hug. Turngut try very hard, Hoppo. Scary Bad Man hard to hurt. Hoppo melted Scary Bad Man skin with powerful magic! Hoppo powerful wizard. Glad Hoppo is friend.
After he sets Poppo down, Turngut smiles sheepishly at Bobie. Turngut try hard, Wrinklebutt. Sad that Scary Girl had to leave. Don't tell Scary Girl, but Turngut like her around.
Finally, he looks soberly at Nalia. Turngut not know Mal-fass, but Woman heal Turngut good. Mal-fass must like Woman. Turngut like Woman too.. Turngut blushes a bit and kicks at some pebbles with his toe.
Ready for town? Turngut want ALE!
Benjen Harris |
I'm inclined to agree with orc the sooner we get back to town the better. Better tell Torell and Ela what all happened. Thraduik says picking his crossbow up off the ground and walking toward the exit.
Nalia Malphason |
Did we search the area well enough? Anything behind the statue?
I'll gather up my sword and shield as well. Bobie, I can't imagine the evil creature using a blade of Malphas but I suppose it's possible. I'd like to look at it more, if I may. Too long for me to use, but an interesting blade none the less. And that armor! So light!
Do we need heal checks on anyone?
Poppo Hedgehopper |
Poppo does his best to explain the items, I agree this isn't likely a sword of Malphas. This strange metal it's made of is call blood crystal, the sword's magical and the blood crystal likes to suck up blood. And this little stone makes you smarter!
Poppo examines the ioun stone carefully to see if it has any cracks or flaws.
Even though not magical Poppo give the light armor a look over.
Appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
He then joins Nalia in searching again more thoroughly.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Benjen Harris |
The stone doesnt have any flaws and is the one that gives you +2 to tiny and a bonus to fly skill. The breastplate is a mithral breastplate. Poppo doesnt find anything else in the room.
bobie |
dang, I was hoping we would level after that. Do we wait a night and heal or just take off
Turngut |
Oh lol I forgot to say you guys do level after that lol
Seriously!?! Awesome! Anyone want to weigh in for Turngut’s next level? Brawler 4 or Barbarian 2? Both have some interesting potential.
Nalia Malphason |
Yes! Hoping we would level! I don't have any knowledge of brawler or barbarian...even though I have a 5th level brawler. I'm terrible at them! I'll likely pick warpriest but will have to look.
Benjen Harris |
Ominously changes profile picture to a spectral dragon...
Alright you guys gather the gear you looted off the vampire Prince Sorrin. The castle of Anor Colair is eerily silent as you descend the stairs feeling a little bit more experienced then you were a few minutes ago. You feel instant relief as you exit the door to the Abyss and are once again back in the material world, Vyn. The gatekeeper of the Abyss watches you not saying a word but not moving in any sort of threatening way toward you. You finally make it to the bridge to the tower seeing and hearing the strange creatures that are far below the bridge.
You quickly pack up the camp you set up just before the bridge gathering the bodies of Dholl Kel and Desmore Barrin two rangers who were slaughtered by the vampire brides. You then touch the teleportation stone and though the moon doesn't shine upon it the stone conveniently works. Though not a welcoming sight, the small village of Crowhall is a welcome reprieve from the horrors you faced in Anor Colair. Bloody finally, felt like we were in that tower for two months. Thraduik says with a friendly chuckle I don't like the townsfolk seeing me get all sappy. So before we go into Crowhall I would just like to thank all of you for getting me through that place. I'd like to think each and everyone of you's I can call a friend! Before you leave town come see me at the Western wall I'll have somethin fer yah.
With the kind words from Thraduik you enter the village the villagers don't pay you to much mind but look at the corpses as if they were expecting to see them such is the dangers of the mountains.
bobie |
So where you think is that hot chick we were talkin' with before? Wasn't she the mayor or some such? Would not mind laying my eyes on her again. But for now, tavern, apple cider, hot bath and sleep. Maybe even in that order
Turngut |
Turngut takes a sigh of relief as the group steps out of the teleport. Smiling, he claps his friends on the back. Friends! Make it home safe and good. Now Turngut very tired. Like Wrinklebutt say: tavern, hot cider and apple bath. Then sleep!
During the evening's meal and libations, Turngut will let his friends know of his desire to get some silvered brass knuckles or even cold iron brass knuckles. Turngut not like how Very Scary Bad Man not hurt by Turngut's punching. Special metal on Turngut's fists can make Bad Ones go down hard. Also, get sharp armor to give giant hurt hug to Bad Ones.
Turngut would like to get the best armor that he can (light armor) and some special material brass knuckles made up. Turngut will also need a full 24h rest with a heal check from someone to get his 4 points of Con damage and 3 points of Wisdom damage restored.
Are we in a hurry to get to Fogville? If needed, could a blacksmith make up some silvered brass knuckles (or punching daggers) if needed? I'm hoping that Crowhall has fairly decent access to silvered weapons given the threat from Anor Colair, even if they may not have much else. Regardless, I think a trip to the best shops in town is in order after a good night's rest!
bobie |
heal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
I bet we can pull that little toe nail off and you will feel much better, just hold still for a minute..
Benjen Harris |
You guys were headed to Ark the capital city, but obviously open world if you want to go to Fogville you can. You recall that Crowhall only has an inn no stores the only silver you were able to acquire was the very few silver weapons people from the town let you borrow (I'm assuming you return those?).
bobie |
don't see crowhall on the map. looks like fogville is north (30 miles?) and ark and east (120 miles?) So not terribly out of the way per the map. BobE will ask around and see what he can find out about Fogville and the road there.
Benjen Harris |
Ignore the scale on the map its incorrect, you guys are about equal distance to walk to Ark and Fogville. You cant traverse the mountains straight to Fogville they are too perilous. The shortest route to Fogville is once you are out of the mountains you are currently in is to follow the base of the mountains North West but then that's through wilderness and you don't know what is out that way. Or you can follow Thraduik's instructions on how to get there by going to the town of Tallfield and take the road going West. Let me remind you guys that you are going to Ark with Jespar and his group to get paid for helping Jespar on the Suncost. Also what do you guys do with the bodies of Dholl and Desmore?
While you guys eat and rest up the towns Mayor Ela does approach you shortly after you arrive Well how'd it go? Did you stop the undead from creeping out of Anor Colair?
Poppo Hedgehopper |
Hi Mayor. Yes, we think so anyway...we killed the vampire lord Sorrin after leaving this plane of existence for some dark place and cleared Anor Colair out. My hope is you won't have to deal with the undead anymore. At least for now. But we did notice a lot of small grey strange humanoid creatures down below the mountain. We didn't know what they were? Do you know what they are?
-----
Later, when Poppo has a chance to look at the map, Cutting straight through the mountains will be far to perilous. Our best way to get to Fogville is the way Thraduik said, head to Tallfield and then go from there. Well if we are going all the way to Tallfield, then we might as well go a little further and collect our coin from Ark, and see that place. Then we can head back to Fogville, maybe with that fancy armor and brass knuckles that Turngut wants. And we want to be properly provisioned, you know stock up on oranges, and the such. Well I say Ark first. But I do worry about that artifact falling into the wrong hands, namely any that aren't mine. He gives a laugh as he comes up for air. Looking to the others to see if there is agreement. He takes a deep drink of his ale.
Benjen Harris |
The small gray creatures are likely tunnelers, they aren't to big of an issue more of a minor nuisance. Taking her silver scimitar back from Nalia Well you ought to speak with Torell to collect your reward, you are welcome in Crowhall anytime. she says before exiting the Wolves Head.
Shortly later Pearson limps down into the main bar area looking in a little better shape but how good of shape can you look after you've died just a few days prior. He gives a genuine smile to the party before getting an ale and taking a seat with the party. He grunts Jespar and Mac went out hunting some wolves should be back soon. So we headed out of here tomorrow?
bobie |
BobE stares and drools slightly as he watches Mayor Ela walk away. Then with a sad sigh Curse these old bones he murmurs. There is much wisdom to what you say my friend, but for myself, I would seek to stop the crow the soonest. But my feelings on the matter could be clouding my judgement. What say you Nalia, Turngut?
Turngut |
Ah, yes. I forgot that Crowhall was pretty scant when it came to equipment. I believe the silver shortsword was one that we found and didn't borrow, correct? I'll leave it on my sheet unless anyone else can use it.
Still looking fairly worse-for-wear, Turngut is happy to sit and let others talk. He barely stirs when the mayor or Pearson comes by. Even when Bobie, waggling his eyebrows, elbows him as the Mayor walks away, Turngut barely grunts in recognition.
Before the 24h bedrest, Turngut is down 3 Wisdom, 4 Con and at 15ish hp! I've already adjusted his stats in my header to reflect the 24h rest - all ability damage will be healed, but he only has 37/60 hp. That's one tired Orc!
Turngut's eyes flicker open when Poppo chatters on. He sits up to listen when the armor and brass knuckles are mentioned. Yeah! Turngut want special metal hitters. Good for hurting, good for keeping friends safe. Want hurt hug armor too. Turngut follow Hoppo.
bobie |
