Always has to be spiders . . .
That spell is certainly useful, Kael. I'm amazed at how rested I feel!
Anyone have an idea of which way to go? I'm not sure where else we'd have left to explore besides going to clear off the undead or facing a Lich/Death ahead.

Sanrael Bloodthorn |

could be a thing to scare us off.....right Kael? Sanraael ponders.....Shall we vote

Kael Cullen |

Kael is silent for several moments reaching within for any sense of divine guidance he might receive. Sensing none forthcoming he gravely addresses the rest of the party-We came seeking an item to help us with the undead above. Something of such power was always sure to be guarded by an evil creature or creatures attempting to keep it out of the hands of those that would use it for the cause of good.
Clearing out the pit of undead is an act worth doing for its own sake, but is certainly not the reason we are here and in many cases when it comes to undead, destroying the largest evil will dispel the lesser evils found nearby. This was the case during the great crusade against Tar-Baphon.
Although I hear no voice from my goddess, my heart and head tell me that if death lies ahead then that is where we must journey. Our cause is just and we must do our best to overcome whatever obstacles lie between us and our goal.
My vote is to press forward and face what is next.
Propose Kael and Curral continuously detect evil/magic until we get to a door or some other place that we feel relatively confident the source of the emanations lie beyond. That point we buff up the party and take our chances.
perception on way to my future doom/glory: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
~detecting evil~ all the way

DM Darkvision |

The party moves forward with Kael detecting evil at regular intervals. After another 60' the passage bends to the left and continues. After another 60' you see something ahead that obscures your view, it kind of looks like a dark curtain hanging across the passage only it flickers and seems without substance.

Kael Cullen |

Kael looks around at the rest of the party for a moment-My guess is that whatever San was warned about lies beyond this veil. If anyone is having second thoughts, I won't hold it against you if you stay behind.
Assuming no one does, proceed as described in discussion before moving through the veil.

Curral casts 4 endure elements, message, and heroism. Before he can cast mirror image or shield, the curtain dissipates revealing what looks like a skeletal dragon that nearly fills the passage. It blasts the party with freezing cold breath.
"I am death and I have come for you!"

Kael laughs at the dragons words-Good; I was getting tired of waiting around! as he charges in, angelic flames burning bright and fending off most of the cold, to turn the creature into a museum display.
~smite evil~ on dragon bones; do I get double-double because it's undead AND a dragon?
GSPA; bypass all DR: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 2 + 3 = 172d6 + 13 + 10 ⇒ (4, 1) + 13 + 10 = 28

DM Darkvision |

Kael and Sanrael move forward to engage. Kael's sword fails to penetrate the bony creature while Sanrael strikes true but does slightly less damage than expected. Pnin lands 2 arrows (assuming blunted). Curral inspires his comrades with a song.
The undead monstrosity strikes back!
"Foolish mortals!"

That's up to Darkvision. I'm assuming you are trying to move to a flanking position, but not sure if it can be flanked or is vulnerable to sneak damage.

DM Darkvision |

Curral inspires! Sanrael and Kael smash at the beast with their swords shattering bone. Pnin’s first arrow takes the creature through one of its glowing blue eyes ending its existence and causing it to explode. Bone shards fly in all directions!

There would be no sneak attack as no flat footed and unable to flank.
Yes, but on the discussion page I was asking if you could confirm that Pnin cannot flank from outside melee range

perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

DM Darkvision |

Where the undead dragon used to be there is a giant pile of bones and bone shards, it must be about 5'-6' deep in the center of the passage and maybe 2'-3' deep along the walls. Pnin thinks he sees something other than bone near the center of the pile, but its hard to tell exactly what without wading into the bones and getting closer.

Sanrael turns to Kael....and smiles then falls back against the wall of the tunnel....a long shard of bone sticking out of his stomach.....bleeding from multiple wounds.....

Kael looks about for any other exits or ways forward.
Casting a quick glance at Sanrael-Don't tempt Desna, San. She favors us for now, but telling the goddess of luck how to do her job sounds like a recipe for misfortune.
