The only tracks you find around the Inn are your own.

As you head out on the road towards Fort Inevitable you feel as if something is not quite right and after an hour or so it comes to Pnin that the road which should see many travelers each day is deserted and lacks any signs of recent use.

Any change in plans or keep heading down the road towards Fort Inevitable?

As you continue down the road you begin to encounter patches of fog, after another half hour you are pretty much enveloped by it and your vision is limited to 60'.

Pnin will move carefully for about 30 ft. Is there brush? Trees? Some sort of off-road cover?


Off the road is a pine forest, relatively dense with some brush as well. Pnin doesn't spot anything, whatever was making the noise is considerably further away from the road.

It sounds a way off, but this is the first Sanrael has heard it so he can't tell if its getting closer, further or staying the same.

First, Pnin assesses whether the sound is moving toward him or away.

If toward, Pnin moves 30 feet toward the sound.

If away, Pnin moves 60 feet toward the sound.

In either case, if he sees anything, he will stop.

Pnin is not certain but he believes whatever is causing the sound hasn't moved. Pnin also thinks it is a 120' or more away.

Ok, since the noise is about 120' away from his current position, Pnin will message the party. He tells them how far things seem (about 150') from the road.

Unless there are objections, he will move 61' toward the sound. He will keep moving until he finds the noise. Not sure how many more rolls that will take

Kael responds to Pnin via ~message~ Don't get lost out there. If there is trouble, head straight back. We'll never find you in this mess, but we'll hold a position in the middle of the road until you return.

To the rest of the party-I hate splitting the party, it's usually a recipe for disaster, but Pnin knows what he's doing and I'm sure he won't do anything foolish to put himself or us at risk.

Kael continues to stand fast in the center of the road and listen and look out into the fog.

Pnin and Curral advance into the fog. Pnin catches a brief glimpse of a skeletal figure at the edge of the mist but it is moving away and disappears almost immediately.

Uh....nothing? Unless the undead are invisible, your hammer has the same range of detection as detect evil or our current sight (60'). Don't worry, the party splitting geniuses (the spirit of Weed compels you!) will have it resolved shortly. Just sit back and enjoy the story.

Didn't you all tell me there was a winery on the way in to Inevitable? Let's try and get that far and then we can assess next steps.

My thought was to travel towards Inevitable until whatever has stopped traffic made itself known to us one way or the other. I can't imagine we make it all the way there without something happening and I don't think people are not returning just because of some fog.

Let's go flush out whatever dangers lie ahead and sort them out.

Casts Entangle


Kael's blow deflects off the toughened hide of the undead spider thing attacking him while Pnin's second arrow thunks into his attacker's leg. Curral begins a performance while Sanrael casts a spell.

Entangle effects all plants in a 40' radius, going to assume you are placing the spell so the spiders are on the outside edge of the effect, otherwise Kael and Pnin would be in the area as well.

The grasses and shrubs along the edge of the road grasp out at the spiders but they nimbly move out of the way. DC12 reflex
