So, we also have some stuff in the party loot to be sold for some additional party gold. Before we split it up, though, I'd like to propose maybe looking at special ammo for the siege engines, and maybe a ship upgrade or two?
In particular, having that catapult opens up an interesting option in using alchemist's fire with the catapult. A burning ship can't take any options until the pilot makes the reflex save, so it could be a good way to catch up to a ship so we don't have the long chase we did last time.
Otherwise, rapid deploy sails, silk sails, and broad rudder all sound like good additions.

Holding off on my next post for now. I have consumed 1 day of game time on my first post...so there is a bit of synchronization that needs to happen with the other players.
Also, want to know how my three workers and I did on the repairs before I make another post...to decide if I should ask the captain to shell out for drydock and when/if I am going to get to shop on this stop. :)

Question for the GMs: How much would it cost to put together a library on the Challenger? There's books that give bonuses to Knowledge checks, which would give us +2 on all checks for 1000gp. Would a complete set count as a library for the purposes of making untrained Knowledge checks? And if not, how much additional would we need to spend to get a collection that counts as a library?

The normal crafting rules are terrible. So we're not using them. We're going to use THESE ONES instead. By that ruleset, you're going to need a DC 25 Craft check to make the repairs, and it will cost 1000gp in materials. Since I said before you could make the repairs yourself, I won't enforce that price this time only.
Seeing as you would need a 19 or 20 to make that check, Choon and I discussed it, and we'll allow your workers to Aid Another, meaning you will need 5 of them in order to make it possible.
Since this wasn't solidified until now, I'm willing to say you took 5 people instead of 3 to get the work done, and it took a single day. In the future, though, you will need to pay for materials and make sure you have enough people.

So, a full set of those books would only be 500gp. However, due to the rough environment at sea, the books you'd get for that wouldn't last very long. So, the 1000gp you quoted would be fine for a full set of weather-hardened books that would give you the +2 to all knowledge checks.
For the library, though, we're going to say no. You don't have the necessary space to store enough books, particularly ones that can handle the rough conditions. If you ever manage to lay claim to a land-based stronghold, you can set up a private library there, but you won't be able to carry it with you at sea.

The +1 crossbow bolts Madiya might be able to use...I also have 3 +2 screaming crossbow bolts I have been carrying around since when we killed Scourge I think. We are getting pretty close to when I will not likely ever use a crossbow, so if she wants those she can have them, otherwise I say we sell them too.
The vindictive harpoon is such a nice magic item, unfortunately none of us are built for it (stupid exotic weapon proficiency). Same for the Perilous Gloves.

I can take all of the crossbow bolts, it is my primary weapon after all.
I'm looking into getting both alchemist's fire and chain shot for the catapult. I'm thinking of putting the catapult in the front, 2 ballista per side, and 2 in the back (for broadsides of 3, since the rear can swivel). Sound good?

Until we have a better solution, I believe the ring of swimming is too useful to sell in a campaign so "water focused". Baolus is using it for now, so I'd be willing to pay for it...
For an example, we could calculate how much we'd get for selling everything. Then, I'd buy it for 1250 with my share.

Are we still on that first day? I am okay with retconning to make the repairs be done at the end of it as described, but say 2 I need to go do some shopping if plot allows. Not much since kineticists are low we builds, in a kind of frustrating way actually. But still good to go do some.
Did we ever get the community stats for the port city we are in? Need to know what I am likely able to find to plan the shopping trip.

Okay then. Picking up where Tamesis left off, If we are able to sell everything here (+1 morningstar, +1 light wooden shield, Shackles of Compliance, Oil of Taggit, Perilous Gloves, Vindictive Harpoon) then we would add 13883 to the 21.6k already mentioned.
Is there anything that the party needs to buy as a group? We are in the area where we could think about getting a wand of CLW or Infernal Healing for out of combat healing (Infernal Healing is actually more optimal so long as you are okay with the negative connotations of the spell, which how heavily that is RPed varies from GM to GM and game to game). Unless, I can't remember, did we already do that?
Tamesis and Madiya are also looking at upgrades to the ship, which I feel like should come out pre break. While Madiya uses the seige weapons on board, I don't think it is fair to make her buy that ammunition herself.

I don't know the current status of our balista bolt supply...but starting from zero and making some assumptions for the other players, if we buy everything I would say we should pick up:

And Kehl recommended 2 wands, although I believe Madiya is the only one that can use them. (1500) Is everyone okay with Infernal healing on these? Buhayra probably won't like it, but as a player I am fine with it, and for out of combat healing it is just flat out better.
So that would bring the party shopping spree to a total of 7,150, leaving 28333 to split amoungst the party, so 4722 gold, 1 silver, and 6 copper each.
Please say yes, no, maybe, and if you want to adjust the quantities on ammunition let's talk about it.
Still need to know stats on the community we are in, because all of this hinges on the assumption that we can sell everything and purchase everything here, which may not be the case.

I believe we declared mundane ammunition for siege weapons to be handwaved out, just like mundane ammunition for our personal weapons. That way we can afford more of the special ammo.

I'd suggest getting 10 chain shot and 5 alchemist's fire shot for the catapult, with no need to purchase ballista bolts (we have plenty on board right now either way) or catapult stones (not sure if it falls under that, but we have enough - 14 stones - as well).
That leaves us with approximately the same amount to split (everyone gets an extra 25 gp, rejoice!). I'm looking through my options right now and working on a shopping post.
Also, GMs: I'm not sure why I took Dazzling Display at 3rd level, considering I'll never use it and it doesn't make sense. Probably a leftover from a previous version of the character that was less ranged-focused that I didn't catch. Can I switch it out? Likely for Weapon Focus in either siege or crossbow.

I was just think base nonmagic mithral armor and a belt, but I couldn’t to justify her buying the mithril when it didn’t give any more protection than her me armor. Belt of dex or con, or both!, will have to be later.

As a Kensai, Int would also give me +1 to AC. Dex feels like a better way to go, but Int is likely the better mechanical choice, all told. Though, of course, the difference is minimal in the long run. Hence my paralysis.

A belt of dex is more helpful for other characters to inherit/buy from you down the line when you upgrade... If that helps.

I'm going to get both at some point, and rather than selling it or handing it off, I'm more likely to just have it upgraded to +4 or +6.

Are any of the crew disembarking at this port? Also, I don’t think Anyone made any roles to recruit new crew. I don’t know if we need it, but the whole “enlist now” speech is not Buhayra’s thing, so just wanted to put it out there for others.

We should spend the evening hitting the dockside taverns and recounting our exploits. After all, bringing in two prize ships while fighting off Captain Pilk and the Deathknell ought to go a long way to building a reputation for the strength of our crew.

Yeah, we definitely need to do some recruiting and Infamy building. I take it we can do the same thing as before, Tammy's Intimidate check supported by Sven's storytelling expertise?
I'm also going to go and make my own Knowledge check at the library, since I have the higher Int score. See what I can turn up.

We have counters for infamy, disrepute and plunder on our Party Inventory sheet, middle bottom.
I have updated Infamy and Disrepute to 5 and dropped out Plunder to 0 since we just sold all of it.
