The Free City of Muluk takes it name from the long, unbroken line ofrulers whose history predates the Enlightened Throne in Huzuz It isknown for its exquisite regal purple dyes produced from local indigo plants.Muluk lies along the shore of the Great Sea at the mouth of the River Al-Zalim. Like most of the Free Cities, Muluk is a fiercely independent martialstate, engaged in unrelenting, low-grade conflict with the savage hill tribes ofthe nearby Furrowed Mountains, the ravaging pirates from the Corsair Isles, and the hostile armies of Umara and Qadib, both neighboring Free Cities

AC -2 (1 without Shield) / HP: 40/40 / THAC0 17 (15 with Scimitar)
Just realized Aggrammar should be level 3/3 and not 2/2.... But I will look into it only after this fight, if he is still alive :P

People, just to let you all know I am traveling from tonight until Saturday for a small vacation. Should have access to wifi and whatnot, but probably not much time to post. So if you need to press on, feel free to bot me.

I will be on vacation from the 5th of November to the 17th of November, inclusive, and will have very limited access during this time (I'm going to Disneyworld). If I am in your game, please bot me. If you are in my game, please sit tight and we will resume on my return. I will try to get as much posting in as possible prior to this time, but we are still dealing with a death in the family.

No problem
Fadilah Intelligence check 1d20 ⇒ 13
I am posting it here because for some reason my post won't post...
Fadi looks at the wall before she casts her spell and decides it would be safer to cast next to the magical wall not try to delete the magical wall and a new tunnel opens up right next to where the other one is and Mahara walks out and says, "Wow, a real shai'ra with a marid gen. delightful, we need to leave my Dale and go to Talv as quick as possible."
Shot Putter Funkmeister
Ok, I guess it is time to dole out XP:
Werehyenas 1400 x 4 =5600
Giant Lizards x 6 = 1050
Saving Mahara before he died of thirst = 6000
Outfoxxing the Genie = 2500
1059 gold pieces
= 16209 /5 = 3241.8 rounded up to 3242 xp each
Feel free to check to see if any of the items you found were magical.
Please level up if you can. You have completed the adventure called "The Hermit's Riddle"
AC -2 (1 without Shield) / HP: 40/40 / THAC0 17 (15 with Scimitar)
Wohoo!
I am going to review Aggrammar this weekend - I think he should be at least level 3/3.
I am still baffled that clerics did not have channel heal in AD&D2e :P
Shot Putter Funkmeister
Channeling is a 3 or 3.5 invention, I may be wrong. I did not play 3rd edition. I played 2nd and then took a decade or so break and started playing PF and a little 4e.
AC -2 (1 without Shield) / HP: 40/40 / THAC0 17 (15 with Scimitar)
What about 5e, any plans on playing that one? I am getting my feet wet in two systems I am unfamiliar with - D&D5e and PF2e. Want to see if I enjoy them or not, but so fat PF2e seems too much rocket tag for me, right from level 1, unfortunately something I do not appreciate.
As for Aggrammar, I am slowly coming to terms with all the details for the character, I think :D
I will level him up when I get a chance (probably tonight), he should now be Fighter3/Priest4, sweet!
Magical items.... We have bracers, and we also have a lamellar armor right?
Shot Putter Funkmeister
When dualclassing, you have to wait until both classes can level up. So you can level up to 3/3. You will have to wait for 4th level.
The party has the bracers, who will use them is up for the group to decide. There is lamellar armor. There is some other items that are magical but the party has not figured out what they were yet.
Shot Putter Funkmeister
I play 5e mostly because everyone wants to play it and that is the only way I can get to play in person. I have never tried PF2e... Honestly I would rather play AD&D 2e or Gamma World.

GMEDWIN wrote: When dualclassing, you have to wait until both classes can level up. So you can level up to 3/3. You will have to wait for 4th level. Ah ok, so when multiclassing both classes need to level at the same time?
Never tried Gamma World.

About lamellar armor, since the party will be doing most of their travel at night, you will be able to use lamellar armor without the heat penalty.
AC -2 (1 without Shield) / HP: 40/40 / THAC0 17 (15 with Scimitar)
I am really hesitating in trying on an armor which incurs heat penalties. If it is cursed and Aggrammar cannot bring himself to take it off, it can get bad :P
I think we need Fadi to try identify again, until we know what all the items are.

Feel free to roll for identify for three days before the party left Talv.
Does anyone want to try the bracers of defense? If so just tell me and then I can do the attunement roll for your character.

By "attunement roll" you mean that they're cursed, don't you. :D
Shot Putter Funkmeister
No actually, the protection is attuned to the character. So one character might be attuned and get -1 bonus to ac and another might get a -9 or somewhere in between. That is how bracers of defense work in 2e. "Bracers of Defense: These items appear to be wrist or arm guards. Their magic bestows an effective Armor Class equal to someone wearing armor and employing a shield. If armor is actually worn, the bracers have no additional effect, but they do work in conjunction with other magical items of protection. The Armor Class the bracers of defense bestow is determined by making a percentile roll and consulting the table below:"
Female Human Wizard (Sha'ir) 5 | 6/13 HP | AC 9 | Saving Throws Paralyzation, Poison, or Death Magic 14 Rod, Staff, or Wand 11 Petrification or Polymorph 13 Breath Weapon 15 Spell 12
Well, the intent is not that you roll each time someone puts them on, but you roll once when the item is generated as part of a random treasure table, and that tells you what kind of bracers you get. That's why when they show up in modules they're listed as "bracers of defense AC 8" or "bracers of defense AC 2", as each pair has a set Armor Class that they grant.
But rolling a different AC each time someone puts them on is interesting too! You wind up with an item that might be really good for one character and not for another purely based on chance, rather than the specifics of class features and what they normally use!

If that's the way they work, let's all try them on and see who they help the most, and go with that.
Shot Putter Funkmeister
According to the module, Muli(everyone must love him) they were his and the bracers differ based on if they attune to the wearer properly. But it is not like, you put them on and take them off you can try again. Everyone roll a 1d100 and we will see who gets the best benefit.

AC -2 (1 without Shield) / HP: 40/40 / THAC0 17 (15 with Scimitar)
Continuing to level up Aggrammar:
HP +5 (Avg d10 + Avg d8 = 5,5+4,5=10 // 10:2=5)
THAC0 improved by 1 = 18
Gained +1 lvl2 spell from Priest
Gained 1 Weapon Proficiency (I have a total of 3 unspent now I believe...)
Gained 1 Nonweapon Proficiency (I would like to grab something Survival related - what do you suggest GMEDWIN?)
I think this is about it.
Shot Putter Funkmeister
Hi, please roll your hit points.
AC -2 (1 without Shield) / HP: 40/40 / THAC0 17 (15 with Scimitar)
Do we have to? I have horrible memories of playing AD&D2e with a Wizard, who had 2hp :/
Fighter: 1d10 ⇒ 9
Priest: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Shot Putter Funkmeister
Fadilah has 10 hp at level 4. Says the guy who just got 1 less HP than max possible. :) The enemies have rolled HP too.
Shot Putter Funkmeister
Survival(Desert) makes sense or maybe Direction Sense or Foraging is also good.

My father once had a wizard with 1 hit point. He was bitten by a giant rat and died. To add insult to injury, had he survived, he would have been diseased (as I rolled a 1 on the d20).
Nura remains 4th level, but I have healed her up and increased her XP total.

GMEDWIN, any news on the Bracers Attunement rolls? :D
Shot Putter Funkmeister
Not everyone rolled it and no one has claimed it. I was waiting for a roll by Nymeria and Fadi to see who had the best roll and then I was going to write "X and the bracers seem to fit perfectly" or something.

I did, it was a 55. Looks like Paizo had some maintenance and rolled back their forums briefly and deleted my post.

Hey everyone, just dropping a line to let you know I will be traveling until next Saturday, and hard pressed to do any posting at all. Please feel free to bot me if/as needed!

On the Cyclone of the Four Winds scimitar--putting this in discussion because it seemed too long of an out of character thing for gameplay.
Since it is a scimitar, the damage is correct, and for the attack roll, I only have a bonus with bows, so a scimitar (or anything else) would use my base THAC0, so that is correct as well (but without any magical bonuses of course).
As far as being able to use it, merchant rogues can use anything a thief can use. Thieves can gain proficiency in broadswords, long swords, and short swords, but scimitar isn't listed, at least in the generic entry.
However, scimitar is listed in some of the rogue kits in the Al Qadim manual, so I am *guessing* that I can use one, and actually it looks like I might get another weapon proficiency at level 5 anyway, so this would be a perfect story way to add it in. (I guess I missed that on level up, but that's what the table shows (see below... slightly modified so it is easier to understand without tab stops). :)
Table 1‐1: Proficiency Slots
Weapon: Initial #Levels
Warrior 4 3
Wizard 1 6
Priest 2 4
Rogue 2 4
Non‐Weapon: Penalty Initial #Levels
Warrior ‐2 3 3
Wizard ‐5 4 3
Priest ‐3 4 3
Rogue ‐3 3 4

Some of those kits, it is required to have, but the scimitar is a weapon that would be considered normal to carry and know how to use. Story-wise, you could have learned how to use the weapon from either Agrammar or Nura or any of the other guys you had with you.
Maps | Loot | Female Elf Thief (Merchant-Rogue) 6 | HP 7/24 | AC 4 | THAC0: 18 | Saves: PPD 12 / RSW 12 / PoP 11 / Breath 15 / Spell 13 | Con Save Bonus +3 | Infravision 60 feet | Station: 6 | Reaction Adjustments: Dex +1 / Charisma +5
Okay. I am going to add it to my proficiencies then, so no negative adjustment needed for the fight hopefully. (Unless it is cursed and stuff.) ;)
Shot Putter Funkmeister
Hey, what do you guys think? Should you haggle with the Padisha or take the sword or you could just leave it in the crypt?
