Spellcraft 21 +1 per 10’:

Suddenly, Hendric’s armor crackles with energy and explodes in a burst of electricity, which arcs off to hit every Pathfinder except Nox, as well as Black.

Reflex:

Suli takes 13 electricity damage (after resistances) I don’t think he has Evasion, Hendric and Xon takes 20 electricity damage (after incorporeality), and Kaldane takes 40 electricity damage.

As an arc of electricity terminates on Black, it slurps it up like it were a massive piece of spaghetti pasta, and heals of its wounds!

I’d say maybe 10 minutes—the scenario explicitly states that this is “one of the first rooms they [the PCs] come across.” The warehouses and such was just flavor for the fact that you guys were a ways away from the Aspis Building proper—and I doubt that a warehouse would be set up as an entrance hall like this, so I’m skeptical that it would be the very first room you guys came into.

Based on how Marid Style is worded, Suli only has another 5 feet of reach if and only if he's also using Elemental Fist with that specific attack. But, either way, Suli's AoO missed and only his first true attack hit. Also, where did the +7 to your damage rolls come from? Elemental Assault is not Elemental Fist, so Shaitan Style wouldn't let you add your Wis to the acid damage, plus you can only use Elemental Fist once per round, so it wouldn't apply to all of your attacks, also your Wis is a +6, so I don't know where the +7 came from...

Derp! That makes much more sense!. It would take some time to search the place, generously giving about 10 minutes; then Alexayn was being Alexayn for a while, so let's say about 20 minutes there; then you met up with the NPC Pathfinders and spent at least ten minutes briefing them, combine that with the time it took for them to tell you about the situation in Ostenso and let's say that took about 15 minutes total to hear them and to brief them; then the shipping entrance is explicitly far away from everything else, so let's say it took you 10 minutes to get to that entrance; then 10 minutes from when you entered the shipping entrance to get to where you are now (like I said previously). Total that up for 65 minutes, so just over an hour after you left Alexayn's tomb. And I don't know what to tell you about the map--I triple-checked and the map looks exactly how I adjusted it on my last turn...

One other question before I post my turn - does Escape Route work as I think it does? That if I share it with Tactician, Sir Hendric and Sentry can ride around with impunity? Sir Hendric is moving within Sentry's space and vice versa. Obviously this is a stinky cheese trick but... Hard Mode.

Man, I really wanna say "no," but a look through the forums shows that, by the RAW (but not necessarily the RAI), that's how that works. You have to use a use of Tactician and use your beloved swift action, which makes me feel a bit better about the cheese.

If it wasn't so dire I wouldn't do it. But 3 opponents, each with Stunning Critical and 17 attacks? That Stunning Critical on Géatan was a huge blow to our chances of surviving this.

"Watch each others' flanks!"
Sir Hendric shares Escape Route with Tactician. Then he rides south, strikes Black, and uses Wheeling Charge to ride west.

Charge, PA: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (3) + 29 = 32

Edit: Nox gave it -2 to AC, right? All penalties to AC apply to CMD, so that's good news for Sir Hendric. And if I do trip it, Tortuga gets a Vicious Stomp AOO.

Not 17 attacks, that would be silly--they have ten. Each. Plus AoOs. And would've been buffed to Hell if those concierges weren't taken out immediately (they were 13th level bards whose whole point was to buff these guys; they had a 14 AC). Also, be glad that Nox managed to hit it...

Hendric charges and manages to blow a giant chunk out of Black's leg, which sends it crumbling to the ground Success on the trip! but it's certainly still conscious.

Waiting on Kaldane and Tortuga.

EDIT: Whoops! Forgot about Tortuga's AoO:

Sir Hendric's Reflex save against the lightning was only +16 (not +21; regular is +13, then +2 Heroism and +1 Shake it Off), but with a natural 20 it doesn't matter. Sentry is at +12 Reflex from Shake it Off. If Sir Hendric gets hit with the Stunning Critical, he'll use the Lucky Horseshoe to boost his Fort save to +24; and if he rolls a 1 on the save I would ask Tortuga to use an immediate action and a ki point for an Insightful Wisdom reroll.
All these conditional bonuses and immediate-action responses can be tricky to use in PbP when the GM is trying to move things along.
Speaking of which: Sir Hendric will not use Mounted Combat to negate a hit on Sentry if the warhorse is attacked, but will use Indomitable Mount at +27 if a save vs Stunning Critical is needed. Otherwise hoping to have a swift action available on my turn next round.

Yeah, at the time I posted, Yellow appeared to be 5' further to the left in the version I was looking at. And I reloaded a few times. Must be some settings on my Google account since that was from the laptop and not the phone. I changed the path if that is okay. Still under 100' of movement (95').

Suli punches the Guardian right where its arm used to be and manages to cauterize it with acid! After another well-place kick the Guardian finally falls!

The last one’s at 5 hp, so it’s not going to last long once Géatan full-attacks...

Those things were Calikangs with 2 Fighter levels! They also had aegises of recovery, but they were never useful.

Hard Mode Adjustment:
“Each of the concierges has consumed an alchemical draught that grants him a +5 alchemical bonus on his initiative check. Add one calikang sentinel to the encounter. Each of the calikangs benefits from greater heroism (CL 13th), which a concierge who does not appear in this encounter cast before leaving to search elsewhere in the building.”

It should also be mentioned that the concierges had this feat, specific to this scenario:

Aspis Warden The concierge has trained extensively to protect the Aspis Building, and has developed techniques for working more effectively with its other defenders. When fighting within the Aspis Building, the concierge’s harmless spells and beneficial abilities (such as inspire courage) bypass his allies’ spell resistance and immunities.

The Fight You Didn’t Have:
If you guys had gone through the sewers, you would’ve had to deal with a variant three-headed half-green-dragon froghemoth with the following unique abilities:

Many Maws (Ex) If the three-maw froghemoth begins its turn with an opponent grappled and performs a full attack action, it can use its swallow whole ability on that creature as a free action in place of making a bite attack. It cannot swallow more than one creature per round in this way. When performing a full-attack action, the three-maw froghemoth can forgo all of its bite and tongue attacks in order to use its breath weapon as a free action.

Stunted Appendages (Ex) The draconic froghemoth does not gain a fly speed from the half-dragon template, and its claws count as secondary natural attacks. Instead, its stomach churns with caustic juices, dealing additional acid damage to creatures it swallows whole. Its swim speed also increases to 50 feet.

Hard Mode Adjustment for the Fight You Didn’t Have:
” The froghemoth loses its slowed by electricity weakness, and is completely immune to electricity. It uses the base saves of a dragon rather than an aberration, which grants it a +5 bonus on Fortitude and Reflex saves. Mental conditioning from Aspis agents has also granted it a +5 bonus on Will saves. Apply the agile mythic template (Pathfinder RPG Mythic Adventures 224) to the froghemoth. This increases its AC by 2, its hit points by 8, its base speed to 40 feet, and its swim speed to 60 feet. It also grants the froghemoth a +20 bonus on initiative checks, mythic rank 1, the evasion defensive ability (as the rogue class feature), and the dual initiative mythic ability.
Dual Initiative (Ex): The monster gets two turns each round, one on its initiative count and another on its initiative count – 20.”

The concierges each had a scroll of Cure Serious Wounds.

The Pathfinders’ next objective is obvious: Make it to the Patrons’ offices (hopefully) before Suliji! From Alexayn’s information, the Patrons’ offices are at the very top of the building—while the Aspis Building has many connecting rooms and quarters, The only room connecting the upper echelon of the Consortium to the rest of the building is a room by the name of the Argent Atrium.

I’ll post again when you guys are ready to move on.

New Subsystem!:
The Aspis Building is a massive structure of many floors, but Suliji’s plan is already in motion, so there is no time to explore every room—you must get to the Argent Atrium as soon as possible!

This next section is something of a variant chase. You all must face “obstacles”—events that occur on your way up to the Atrium. You start off only having to face three obstacles, but by receiving Alexayn’s assistance, you reduce the number of obstacles by one—however, by taking the shipping entrance you must scour through more rooms, meaning that you increase the obstacles that you face by one. For reference: if you had gone through either the side entrance or the sewers, you would’ve decreased the number of obstacles by one; if you had gone through the front door then you would’ve neither increased nor decreased the obstacles, but each entrance had its own set of challenges.

Which Obstacle is First?: 1d6 ⇒ 5

The Pathfinders turn the corner and find themselves at the entryway of a 100 foot, high-ceilinged hallway, the walls of which are lined with portraits and busts of many individuals of many different races.

Knowledge (local) 30:
Not every passage sees regular use, and some routes through the Aspis Building have insidious effects on all but a few operatives. Among these is the Gallery of Fortune, a high-ceilinged hallway lined with portraits and busts of the Consortium’s greatest leaders, moneymakers, and innovators—at least those whose identities and involvement the organization hasn’t
kept secret. The area has a grim reputation for granting future prosperity to a rare few and afflicting all others with bad luck. As a result, agents-in-training sometimes use the Gallery of Fortune as a hazing ritual, pushing recruits to travel its length and gaze upon the deceased moguls. Those who don’t look at the art at all tend to escape unscathed but earn the ridicule of their peers.
Word of this obscure hall and juvenile ritual rarely spreads beyond the Aspis Building, but fortunately, you happened to catch wind of the area.

What do you do?

Nox can't reroll sadly, already used it on the scroll-seekers. Hopefully this doesn't hurt TO bad.

I’m just going to keep moving on, but I still need to know if Kaldane and/or Tortuga reroll their Will saves! (I’m not going to use your guys’ folio rerolls for you—that is the choice of the player, and I will not bot that).

As you all rush to the other side of the chamber you look around and, to your surprise, nothing looks different—you all look fine. With a group shrug you venture on.

Despite what Alexayn thought, a good amount of the Aspis Building layout must have changed from a century ago, because you all feel like your just running around quite randomly.

You all eventually—through cartoonish hijinks—find yourselves in a series of offices and cubicles—apparently designed for use by Gold and Silver Agents. As you make your way through, you come across some open files that, upon a quick once-over, seem to be “business ventures” by the Patrons that were being reviewed by the Gold/Silver Agents. You decide to grab the files and read them as you make your way to the Atrium.

The Knowledge checks are to see if you figure out about the specific plans in more detail, as opposed to a casual perusal Upon further review, the files do indeed seem to be Patron plots, plots that seem to be set to occur in the Land of the Linnorm Kings...

Knowledge (geography) 20:
A Patron by the name of Staccato Stachalto the Cynic has secured key contacts and potential turncoats along the border between Irrisen and the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, enabling the Aspis Consortium to transport supplies to the beset Ulfen border towns. Once he has their trust and stable routes, he intends to poison their food shipments in advance of an Irriseni offensive—all in exchange for a generous payment from the White Witches.

...in Mendev...

Knowledge (local) 20:
A Patron by the name of Staccato Stachalto the Cynic has lifted the moratorium on underhanded practices in Mendev, following the successful conclusion of the Fifth Mendevian Crusade. His plan to overcharge Nerosyan for shipments of staples while eliminating local competitors is partly underway, and he has identified a sizeable population of low templars as idle mercenaries willing to raid the reclaimed territories for Sarkorian goods–even if it means undermining the Mendevian efforts to resettle those lands and construct fortifications against another demonic incursion.

...in the Mwangi Expanse...

Knowledge (nature) 20:
The Patron Iaovin Ratarion has spent the better part of 10 years expanding Aspis operations in Bloodcove in the Mwangi Expanse, but the vigilant Ekujae elves and people of Nantambu have prevented the Consortium from freely exploiting the Expanse’s riches. His proposal would weaken Nantambu’s eastern defenses and simultaneously goad the charau-ka of Usaro to attack, buying local Aspis agents several years in which to snatch up resources without local resistance. The office’s occupant has penned the question, “What happens if the charau-ka completely overrun the Expanse?” in the margins.

...and somewhere beyond the Material Plane.

Knowledge (planes) 20:
The Patron Kaera Hightower reports good progress on the Plane of Earth, where the Consortium’s investment in a mercenary company known as the Carnelian Corps has paid significant dividends. She cites her past successes tied to the Hao Jin Tapestry campaign the main events of Season 3 to justify directing further resources to the Opaline Vault, the seat of the shaitan genie empire.

The Seekers pass the files around to see if they all can make sense of the business-ese of the Aspis files.

Nox blinks at the hallway as they run past.

That was creepy. And I know creepy.

He shakes his head and focuses on the files in front of him.

Local: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20

He spits out the info as he deciphers it, clearly angry.

But he can't make heads or tails of the other one.
