Sir Hendric rides over to the gnome, sheathes his lance in his Scabbard of Many Blades, and makes a fast dismount.
"I'll help you up. We're getting out of here before whatever it was comes back."
He helps the gnome onto the saddle and prepares to mount back up.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Some clean-up. Nuck Tuk, you have 35 feet before you can be on the map.
Before Hendric can ride off, the gnome shouts.
"But what about the elixir? And the Venture-Captain? And what if those things have the elixir? I think it was all of the teleporting that brought them here in the first place."

![]() |

"We will solve the problem but to do so we need answers and information. Our wizard is that woman a ways to the north. Maybe she can identify the creatures you saw."
I assume it is a standard, at least, to get the gnome onto the horse. So Sir Hendric can mount up and move next round.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Recognition suddenly shoots across the gnome’s eyes.
”Wait! There was another guy! We can’t leave!”
And that’s all that the gnome can say for this round; he’s definitely talked for more than 6 seconds.

![]() |

"I have no way to trace teleportation." says Kaldane.
At the mention of a second Pathfinder, Kaldane flies around and looks for one.
Taking speed again and rolling perception.
Perception + Prayer: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

"But they have the Venture-Captain, no? Maybe there is a spell to trace a person? I'm sure I've seen magic that lets you see a person at a distance. Maybe that would give us clues at least."

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Kaldane is unable to see any other living person among the swarm of dead bodies.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Nuck Tuk, you are now on the map, 15 ft from the upper edge. You still have another action if you would like to do something else.
Tortuga, not sure if you did anything else besides ask about finding the VC.

Nox listens for the gnome, but is itching to hurry on. With no means to track a teleporting hit squad, they where loosing time on whatever needed to be done.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Géatan grabs the amulet, Nox hides in the shadows (again), Nuck Tuk catches up with the group, Kaldane looks for the second Pathfinder, Hendric helps the injured Pathfinder onto his horse, Tortuga looks around, and Kaldane gets a birds-eye view.
”No, no, not another Pathfinder. Someone, a human, was ordering the things, I think, I couldn’t quite understand him.”

Gaétan examines the amulet.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

As Géatan examines the amulet, the most obvious thing about it is that the pendant itself is shaped into a scarab beetle.
Meanwhile, the gnome almost falls off of the horse in fright.
”Who said that?! Who’s there?! Wait. Was that Mr. Nox? Hold on, you guys are Seekers? Bah! Focus, Paan!
“I can try to repeat what he said, but I was a bit more worried with saving my behind, so sorry if I botch it.”
The gnome proceeds to speak in a tongue that seems quite unnatural for him, pausing for brief moments to wrack his brain before continuing his poor attempt to speak a language he does not understand.

![]() |

I don't think you heard all of that right or don't remember it, but a few of those words sounds like something to these ears... “Doctor,” “Bottle,” “Prophet,” “Other side,” and “Tapestry.”
Tongue of the Sun and Moon at the very least lets me understand what is being said, but I have none of the applicable skills.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Alright, anyone who knows Aklo can make the Linguistics check and anyone who makes the Linguistics check (or is informed of the results of that check) can make the Planes check.

![]() |

Linguistics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Nox mutters.
Aklo. Never a good sign when things start talking in Aklo. Bottle is probably the Vial. Not good either. Tapestry might refer to the Hao Jin, if their using it to travel, that's even worse. Ya can't track anything through that... other side might refer to that... or maybe to the shadow realms? Gah... to many years since I spoke Aklo, I can't nail down a better translation of any of it.
He starts moving a little quicker.
Now we REALLY need to get back to the home base, let them know what we've found... if their using Hao Jin travel, they could hit all of the caravans in quick succession.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

”But the Society took care of other ways into the tapestry years ago. We’re the only ones who can access it. And skipping across planes is very imprecise, I don’t think they could teleport to the caravan from another plane, even a demiplane, as precisely as they did even if they knew exactly where the caravan was going to be.”

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Nuck Tuk, how do you have constant Comprehend Languages? It will most certainly be of help, not necessarily at this point in time but in the future it will.

Are these creatures flat-footed? I am not sure since this is labeled as round 5. It makes a difference because I get extra attacks against flat-footed foes due to Medusa's Wrath.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Miss chance (miss on a 1): 1d2 ⇒ 11d2 ⇒ 21d2 ⇒ 11d2 ⇒ 11d2 ⇒ 11d2 ⇒ 2
With the reckless abandon of a soldier of war, Hendric and his steed fight the unearthly beast. But despite hitting the beast multiple times, only two attacks felt that they hit the creature’s body Hendric’s second and the horse’s second hoof, but even then, Hendric felt that the beast did not feel the full force of his mighty lance and his steed’s hoof.
Tortuga, they are flat-footed in this case until they act. Think of this round as “round 1 of combat.”

![]() |

Immediately adapting his fighting stance (Mantis Style), Tortuga begins to work on these creatures with a series of kicks.
Starting with blue, first attack will be a leg sweep (style strike) which allows a free trip attempt on a hit. If blue drops, switch to black and the first attack against black will use punishing kick to try to trip it (on a hit Fort DC 21 or knocked prone). Prone attack bonus not included in any rolls.

Wow, that was mostly abysmal attack rolls.
All damage is bludgeoning, cold iron, silver, magic, good, and lawful.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Only the Tertiary Attack missed by Attack roll alone. Also, the feat is Viscous Stomp, not Viscous Strike; I was confused for a bit there.
Miss Chance (miss on a 1): 1d2 ⇒ 11d2 ⇒ 11d2 ⇒ 21d2 ⇒ 21d2 ⇒ 11d2 ⇒ 2
Primary 1, primary 2, and Secondary actually hit. Blue falls after primary 2, but the punishing kick doesn’t connect because primary 3 missed. No Viscous Stomps
The beast lets out an otherworldly howl as it falls to the ground, the imprints of Tortuga’s fists burned into its flesh.
EDIT: Eh, I noticed that it’s unclear which miss chance goes to what attack; I’ll try to be clearer from here on in.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

The scenario cheats. In order for things to work Nox had to get booted out of stealth when they arrived.
Nox does two backflips and a triple somersault to get away from his worst nightmare only to realize that the beasts didn’t even attempt to swing at the little wayang.
Miss Chance (miss on a 1): 1d2 ⇒ 21d2 ⇒ 2
Xon manages to touch the strange beast and the beast appears significantly weaker from said touch.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Blatant cheats like that are few and far between in All for Immortality; it’s actually very intelligently written. This combat is just a serious exception.

![]() |

Géatan on the group, felt lucky that the créature is flat-footed. He flies at 45° Up north. (So with a 60ft, if I use Pythagore that around 13,4 feet Up and north??)
Protector, he aims the one that Hendrick attacked.
first attack: 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (17) + 31 = 48
dommage: 1d8 + 30 ⇒ (3) + 30 = 33

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

The one Hendric attacked is dead. Also, Pathfinder simplifies it to that if you’re flying up at 45 degrees, then you move forward at half speed and rise up at half speed, meaning north 30’ and up 30’ in your case; no need to use the Pythagorean Theorem.

GM Xavier Kahlvet |

Miss Chance (miss on a 1): 1d2 ⇒ 1
As Géatan shoots an arrow at the beast, despite shooting the creature right in the head, the arrow goes right through the creature’s body and into the ground behind it.
