It seems I misunderstood Geatan's last turn--I thought that he was finishing off the wall that he was already attacking (black line) so that it wouldn't require an Escape Artist check to move through, but I just realized that he was attacking another wall. So, here's how it is: The first wall (black line) requires an Escape Artist check to move through by Medium creatures and also provides cover. The second wall (red line) is destroyed and can be moved through/shot through without penalty.

That said, neither of Nox's shots hit (even against Khayn's FF).

Waiting on Tortuga and Kaldane

Assuming that Hendric is still conscious after GM Xavier's ruling, I will do the following:

Kaldane targets Red and Purple with Banishment Since you can see my character sheet Xavier, do you think I have anything that would qualify as anathema to them? If so, I would present it during the casting to increase the DC by 2/item. If not, the DC is 25

If Hendric is still down:

Kaldane will move up to Hendric's body and cast Breath of Life.

Breath of Life: 5d8 + 15 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 3, 7) + 15 = 33

[ooc]Either way, Kaldane would move up, to prevent himself from being stuck behind the wall again.

| Strange Aeons | Hell's Rebels | ◆◇↻

@Kaldane: since you've been gone for a bit then I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but the orange line is a wall of force, so you can't walk through that. The Purple line (used to be Black but was hard to see, so I changed the color) requires an Escape Artist to move through. Finally, to get to Kaldane's new position through the holes in the wall created by Geatan then he would provoke from Mr. Khayn.

Tortuga rushes up to a wall and leaps off with a flying kick at Mr. Khayn.

I put my path on the map. Unless Mr Khayn has reach, I don't think this movement should provoke. The large creature wasn't adjacent and Sulii would provide soft cover. Nothing in the description of the Flying Kick style strike limits the movement to a straight line, so I think this should all be legal.

Unfortunately, Tortuga only manages to hit Mr. Khayn with his third attack; the man definitely did get his wish granted to be harder to hit.

Waiting on Kaldane for clarification on his actions.

| Strange Aeons | Hell's Rebels | ◆◇↻

So, Escape Artist actually requires 1 minute to make a check, so I’m going to say that Kaldane casts freedom of movement on himself and then moves (so no banishment). The movement would still provoke from Khayn (he has Combat Reflexes):

Khayn AoO vs Kaldane: 1d20 + 30 - 5 ⇒ (1) + 30 - 5 = 26
Damage: 6d8 + 9 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 8, 7, 1) + 9 = 37

As two arrows rush past him, Mr. Khayn looks around wildly for their source before turning to Red and yelling ”They’re employing invisibility! Take care of that!”

Red looks over right at Nox and casts an SLA doesn’t provoke since it’s a swift action and suddenly an explosion of glitter bursts right on top of the wayang! And for the over-looked part of glitterdust: Nox takes a whopping -40 penalty on stealth!

Nox Will: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 Success Yes, that bonus is correct

Red then steps over, two-hands his scimitar, and full-attacks Tortuga!

Primary vs Tortuga (with cover) w/PA: 1d20 + 24 - 5 ⇒ (10) + 24 - 5 = 29
Damage: 1d8 + 8 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 15 = 27

Damage: 1d8 + 8 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 15 = 26

Tertiary vs Tortuga (with cover) w/PA: 1d20 + 14 - 5 ⇒ (19) + 14 - 5 = 28

Damage: 1d8 + 8 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 15 = 26

Purple then charges Sulii and tries to punch him in the face!

Charging Slam vs Sulii: 1d20 + 23 + 2 - 5 ⇒ (9) + 23 + 2 - 5 = 29

Kaldane is rather subdued during the trip, considering the information that the group had learned in short order.

What, really, was Suliji's end game? How did she think that burning people in two of the largest organizations in the inner sea would benefit her?

Normally, I would change my wandering spirit, but I feel like we're going to need knowledges, so I'll leave things as they are.

"While you investigate the lock Nox, I'll be casting some spells."

I believe that I am casting 2 GMW per previous requests. Suli, did you need one as well? I'll also be giving everyone in the group Barkskin, unless anyone has a +5 enhancement bonus to natural armor. Finally, I'll cast Freedom of Movement on myself, and an extended (from my rod) Keen Edge on my sword, plus anything that people might want that is at least 10 minutes/level in duration that I have. Feel free to take a look at my spell list.

Kaldane already cast Freedom of Movement on himself, before we entered Alexayn's crypt. I don't think it has been 150 minutes. If it had been, we'd definitely have stopped to re-up the 10 min/level spells and effects like Barkskin and Freedom of Movement. I imagine you are sort of guessing at travel times within the building, but it's vitally important for our spells.

With Freedom of Movement up, he'd be able to cast a spell if he wished.

I! Keep! Forgetting! That! Okay, it’s been 135 minutes since you guys left Alexayn’s tomb—for ease on my mind let’s say that you guys spent at least 15 minutes talking to Alexayn, so you would’ve re-upped those 10 min/level buffs right before getting to the Atrium and talking to Mr. Khayn. Thanks, Hendric, I completely forgot about that!

Red Will vs DC 25: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21

Red vanishes!

These are also Shaitan pashas! 18 HD each—Kaldane could only get one of them. The turn largely stayed the same—after Purple charged then he would’ve cast glitterdust on top of Nox instead of Red—the only thing that really changed was that Red didn’t full-attack (not that he hit or anything).

Sir Hendric uses the power of his Hosteling armor to store the horse safely (standard action, does not provoke).
Since I was sharing his space before, I am treating this like shrinking down from Large, where I get to choose the square I end up in. Seems reasonable enough but I can do something different if you think otherwise.
Then he takes a 5' step back and uses his Scabbard of Many Blades to store the lance and simultaneously draw the warhammer (move action).

Can't use a swift because he used Mounted Combat as an immediate last round.

"You attack my clothes and cover me in glitter? Are you in the wrong line of work?"

I do wonder how he chose to attack those specific pieces of equipment. In case it matters, Sir Hendric also has an amulet (the Swarmbane Clasp), a backpack (non-magical, part of the Pathfinder's kit, but probably this guy can't tell that), gauntlets, a helm, and boots (all part of the full plate armor so they radiate magic). I would have assumed the headband was under the helm but I never specified that - never thought it would come up.

Sir Hendric readies to dodge the touch of the ghosts.
Snake Style at +36 if attacked. And if one gets through, then Lucky Horseshoe on any necessary save, making his bonuses +15 Fort and Will.

Technically, as long as it’s something you’re wearing or holding then it’s a valid target for sundering. It’s one of those really illogical things that you just kinda have to shrug at and go “Them's the RAW.”

Mr. Khayn looks at Hendric and smirks. ”I’m sorry, you’ve broken into one of the most heavily fortified buildings in the country and have been riding around on a horse brandishing a lance and you’re…what again? Oh, right, ‘adventurers.’ I don’t think you’re allowed to question my methods of doing my job.” He looks towards the nemhain and nods.

The lesser nemhain snarls at the Lastwall knight and launches one of her teddy bears at him—but it doesn’t seem that the bear grows nightmarish as it flies at the cavalier. She’s using it to deliver her incorporeal touch; she’s still holding the charge from last round. Gonna make a guess and say that Hendric wants to use Snake Style on the melee touch attack and not the ranged one.

Kaldane, their touch does Con drain, plus this one is holding the charge for a Slay Living. You really don't want to take an AOO. I'd suggest a Grace (swift-action spell) to avoid provoking on the movement and then casting defensively (which I believe you auto-succeed on). But the Death Ward is much appreciated.

Whaaat??? She’s not holding slay living!*

Simple solution: Cast grace, Cast death ward, move next to Hendric, then deliver death ward using the free touch “attack” provided by the spell.

Waiting on Tortuga

*She’s totally holding slay living.

As Tortuga jumps toward the lesser nemhain he is surprised to find his feet impact with the wall of force a lot sooner than he thought. When he looks he finds, to his surprise, that there is a second one! Did I forget to mention that I’m an *sshole? :) I marked the second wall of force in orange. The second wall is ultimately irrelevant to Tortuga’s actions, so I repositioned where Tortuga was and am treating it as if he finished his actions from there. All of Tortuga’s punches hit except for the last one.

Purple steps away from Xon and casts an SLA. He touches Mr. Khayn and the human’s skin hardens into a rigid substance.

Sir Hendric moves to the south wall and draws upon the power of his Blood Reservoir of Physical Prowess as a standard action, gaining a +8 inherent bonus to Strength until the end of his next turn.
Just a MW warhammer, but hopefully suitable for smashing stone.

Can we hear the people on the other side of the Wall of Force? If so, Sir Hendric might be able to use Tactician next round (once he finally has a swift available again). If not, breaking the south wall might let sound travel.

Absolutely! Sound traveling through a wall simply increases the Perception DC by 10 per foot of thickness.

Whoops! Retconning: I completely forgot that Sentry actually dealt damage to Khayn—he should’ve fallen at Géatan’s last attack. Green’s readied action then would’ve gone off to Heal him back. Khayn then would’ve used his swift to stand up without provoking and proceed with his turn as I wrote. So, Hendric, ignore the thing that I told you in the spoiler.

*

Mr. Khayn falls at Sulii’s second attack.

Green, looking right at Xon, moves away from the shadow and uses an SLA and Mr. Khayn’s eyes shoot open once again.

The lesser nemhain shrieks in pain as she turns to Tortuga in anger and reaches out to touch him.

Touch vs Tortuga: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20

Considering that you can deliver a held charge through a natural weapon or unarmed strike, I figure that the nemhain’s incorporeal touch would go off on top of the slay living. By all means give me your reasoning if you disagree, but this is what I’m going with for now.

Negative Energy Damage: 2d8 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
Con Drain: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Tortuga Fort: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33

I assumed he had a Cloak of Resistance - you wouldn't design a high-level martial NPC without one - and Sir Hendric wants it. So I didn't say to destroy cloaks. And I recognize the "clicks his heels together" so didn't say to destroy boots.

The ranged attack on Tortuga counts as an incorporeal touch so his Bracers apply? With his immediate-action Ki to dodge as he said he was going to do, and the +4 from bracers, I think he is AC 36 vs incorporeal touch.

Also: if Géatan had dropped Khayn, Tortuga was adjacent at that time and could have taken a Vicious Stomp AOO. That is the difference between bringing him back with a Heal or bringing him back with a Resurrection (negative level). I guess it would depend on which happens first, the AOO or the Readied genie.

It’s not an incorporeal touch attack, it’s a ranged touch attack. And the readied action wouldn’t have gone off until Khayn hit the ground, so I’ll allow a retroactive Vicious Stomp AoO. (I’m counting Tortuga’s above attack as his AoO vs the lesser nemhain, so I’ll roll the Vicious Stomp here)

AoO: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (5) + 24 = 29
Damage: 2d8 + 9 + 2d6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 9 + (3, 1) = 22

Resurrection it is, then.

EDIT: looking over it again, it is the bound spirits that’s doing the attacking, so yeah, I’ll count it as an incorporeal touch attack.

Okay, so just to make sure we have this straight, Géatan and Tortuga killed Khayn, Green raised him, and Sulii just killed him again, with now another raise from Green? Well that's two negative levels, and if these genies give you three wishes, I think Green is tapped out (he used one when he first arrived). So that's something.
