Nox whispers about the liquid. He doesn't need to know what it is to know he doesn't want to touch it. He doubted the good doctor was keeping a bubbling vat of soothing lotion in his secret lair. Nox continues his circuit as far as he can go without touching the stuff, then whispers to Xon to explore further...

Just trying to help, I assume it's not magical death juice, so Xon can explore without damage and get us the rest of the room info. And if it is, Xon will pull back as soon as he touches it if it hurts him.

GM Screen:

It’s an opaque liquid—Xon can’t actually see inside of the liquid. The best he can tell you is that the liquid is about 20’ in depth.

As the rest of the group finally makes their way down to the last platform gonna assume Hendric is air-walking since the space is really tight numerous large bubbles in the liquid form and consequently burst, releasing a foul odor into the air and causing everyone to start coughing.

As a quick aside, I do have a necklace of adaptation, so I'm not sure if that would factor into the stench thing.

Kaldane will cast Blessing of Fervor, then fly out of the stench.

| Strange Aeons | Hell's Rebels | ◆◇↻

@Kaldane: I did it ages ago because that was box text—it was tedious as hell but it turned out well. Also, I would say that the necklace of adaptation would apply against the gas, since it’s about inhalation, so Kaldane won’t need to make Fort saves against the Con damage—the mist is completely different and the necklace wouldn’t apply.

@Hendric: I apologize for being vague: Sentry could not and does not act in the surprise round—so you can’t actually move your mount until he has actions. Also, with how things were I would say that it’s been at least a minute, so Coordinated Charge is gone.

A loud groaning of metal echoes throughout the chamber. Before anyone can figure out why, it’s too late. Nox panics more than just a little, and decides that currently the best place to be would be on the back of the flying horse. He quickly scrambles up onto the horses rear and hold's on for dear life, thankful that he doesn't weight much.

Hendric? I feel that we are at a rather sever tactical advantage, may I suggest a retreat? At least to the higher platforms?!

Desperate to try and help, Nox whispers to everyone.

Creating a image, ignore the me you can see!

Huh. That’s one I’ve not heard of. Gotta remember that spell.

Nox:
Pitiful shadow-kin, your mortal magic is nothing against a god reborn!

Unseen Force: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (2) + 26 = 28

Suddenly, a powerful unseen force smacks against Nox, forcibly shoving him off of Sentry, causing him to fall straight into the acid! The above d20 roll was a bull rush against Nox.

Nox automatically makes the check to negate the first 10’ of falling damage, plus falling into “water” negates the next 20’ of falling and converts the 20’ after from 1d6 lethal per 10' to 1d3 nonlethal per 10'.

Falling Damage (Nonlethal): 1d3 ⇒ 1

As Nox impacts with the liquid he feels a painful burning sensation as his skin begins melting into mush.

Acid Damage: 14d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 2, 3, 5, 5, 4, 5, 5, 2, 1, 1, 6) = 45
Fire Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 6, 4, 1) = 17

Then, rising from the acidic fluid to 15’ above its surface, ascends a dark purple mass of slimy goo—the acid beading off of its surface and its “skin” radiating shadows flavor—no mechanical benefit.

Xon AoO: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26

As Xon reaches out to touch the mass of mush, his hand stops short of the thing. A loud, powerful voice resonates throughout the chamber, speaking but a single word:

Aklo:
No.

Suddenly, a small explosion of pure darkness knocks Xon’s hand away from the roiling mass. To clarify, that is the flavor for a massive profane bonus to AC, not an immunity or a force field or anything like that.

In your minds comes the pulsating sound of cicadas buzzing and blades clashing violently—the creature’s laughter. The goo extends out its tendrils to its sides, as if it were spreading its arms to present itself.

Foolish mortals, prostrate in reverence before a true god!

Sir Hendric drinks the Fly potion in case he gets dismounted similarly. Then he readies his shield.
Sentry moves down (in a spiral, I guess, since I am going down more than I am going laterally) so Nox can reach Sir Hendric's lance.
"Grab on!"
This sucks as a use of a turn, but I can't think of any other way to get Nox out of the acid. 10' above the acid, so will need saves next round?

As a swift action, Sir Hendric will share Coordinated Charge again (last Tactician for the day).

"Kaldane, can you Banish it?"
Feels to me like it might be an outsider or at least an extraplanar thing by the way it is talking and claiming to be a god and having a huge Profane bonus. But it could be just an aberration. The owbs were extraplanar, though, and this seems connected.

Using the +2 AC and Reflex from Fervor (not reflected in stat line - running out of room); Bull's Strength is a net +1 to CMD for total of +3 over usual CMD.

I hadn't heard of it either, until I was looking at spells for level 15.

Let's see if it's an outsider! (Knowledge: Planes): 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (8) + 29 = 37

If it is an outsider:

"Sure, I can give it a shot."

Kaldane will then cast Banishment.

If I can't identify it as such:

"I don't believe it would be effected by such magic." said Kaldane, who would then cast Prayer on the fight.

In case it has SR and I cast Prayer:

SR/Banishment Caster Level check: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32

Also, taking bonus to AC and Attack Rolls from Blessing of Fervor. Don't forget that I have given everyone Blessing of Fervor, Particulate Form, and potentionally Prayer.

It is an ooze, not an outsider.

FWIW, not everything extraplanar is an outsider. There are extraplanar aberrations, for example. After Géatan's volley of arrows did nothing I am unsure how to proceed. Sir Hendric does have a swarmbane clasp if it has swarm immunities, so I can try attacking it.
Also, too late now, but a quickened Resist Energy on Nox might have been good. He's in a lot of danger.

I need a definitive choice from Kaldane—no if-thens—is he casting Prayer it Banishment?

Additionally, I’m still waiting on the official actions of Nox and Tortuga.

I think banishment is worth a shot. We are going to have a very difficult time fighting this thing.

Is Nox out of the acid at this point?

If I may ask, how did he detect me? I never broke stealth, so i shouldn't have been a valid target. Unless it can just flat out beat my stealth, which since I only rolled 2 is possible. If he could hit me, I would like to know if it would be possible to drink the fly potion I had in hand from being passed it by Hendric so I do not fall into the acid. If neither of those are a possibility, then I will get back on sentry and engage stealth again.

Burned and hurting in the worst kind of way, Nox climbs back onto the horse and let's the shadows cover him.

Stealth: 1d20 + 48 ⇒ (17) + 48 = 65

He will then drink the potion he was given so that doesn't happen again.

Xon backs away from the thing...

Get boss out of that stuff! I'll do as you instructed!

Setting up charge for next turn.

It’s an ooze—all oozes have blindsight. As for the potion, Hendric merely got it out, he didn’t actually hand it to you (a separate move action), so Nox had to take a move action to take the potion from him—a move action that he didn’t have until it was too late. And even if he had handed it to you, it’s a standard action to drink a potion; or full-round to feed it to someone else. Also, Hendric drank the potion he had out for Nox.

Nox Fort vs Vapor: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Hendric Fort vs Vapor: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27
Sentry Fort vs Vapor: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

Nox takes 1 Con damage.

Fair enough on all points. Thank you for helping clarify. Here's to not taking another acid dip. Did i mention i can't wait until next level when i can take that blasted "No blindsight" feat? Cause I REALLY want that feat right now.

If I couldn't identify it as an outsider, than I was going to cast Prayer.

I’d say that with that Knowledge (planes) you would be aware that Outsiders are not the only extraplanar beings, and not all Outsiders are extraplanar.
