Quick question - the sign up for your table on the sign up spread sheet said you were running 3-4. The title of this thread says 5-6. Which is correct?

My character also has Heightened Awareness.
This will be my first play by post game. I also haven’t played the character for a while and used GM credit to have it level up so I’m not too familiar with her new abilities (I have reread them though).
I’ll be travelling on the 3rd of October, coming back from holidays. I will not be able to post that day, maybe in the evening.

The character is 3rd level and I need to update the profile.
Thanks for GMing!
Dylph |
Sorry GM, after I signed up, I lost the link to the sign up sheet and couldn't find the link to the game, so I'd been looking in Flaxseed for a muster...with all the earlier outages, Dylph is still in a session 1 game....we're in the last encounter, but there's no way we'll be done within a week...all my other 3rd level characters are either delayed or committed...I saw EwokBanshee on the waiting list with a 3rd level guy. Sorry 'bout this, I really wanted to play this special...
GM Gustavef |
@Dylph Thanks for the update. I will reach out to EwokBanshee to fill the last slot. Good hunting.
GM Gustavef |
Ok no one left on the wait list :) So you will be five.
Savina can you pick an avatar that I can use as your token
Otherwise I am good as any to go
Noke Tiiz |
Can we recruit someone? Is this a deadly scenario??
Noke Tiiz |
Hello GM, which of the awards did we receive that are on slide 2/3. All of them in hard?
Thanks
Noke Tiiz |
PURCHASE BEFORE THE ADVENTURE:
- pearl of power 1st level for 1000gp.
- minor bag of holding for 1000gp
- 5 acid flasks for 50 gp
Sleeping Sword |
Hello GM, which of the awards did we receive that are on slide 2/3. All of them in hard?
Thanks
Since one of the tasks does not list a Hard reward, I'm guessing we hit the Hard target number on all but that one and we have all listed rewards. Choose your potions! (If I am right!)

***Token #1***
Passing Aid Token to: GM Gustavef
Current Boosts: None
GM Gustavef |
You can use one aid token per encounter for any of the listed actions. Once used it passes to another table.
You can also choose to boost it before passing it along. You can not boost for your use, but it will help the next table. At this point Noke has boosted is for "Allied Offense" when it passes.
As for Initiative...
When it is all players' turns then they can post in any order. If it matters, and there isn't any specific conditions, then I will resolve actions in initiative order as they are queued. However, as you see I may resolve something significant, like Ridley taking out two at that point in time.
For the most part with PbP Iniative order will be fluid. If you think you may be out later you can post your actions before you are called and I will resolve them at the right time. Also I may delay and shift a few things just to make posting easier. For example, I decided to move the librarians with the agents right now since there was only one player in between, and the librarians are also more of a "hazard" than an actual combatant.
So no it is "all PCs then All NPCs" so it is fairly easy. Everyone can post and I will resolve as needed.
Since this is a special, and somewhat timed, I will be moving thing along a little more quickly. My normal PbPs are a little more relaxed :)
Sleeping Sword |
Having played a few Specials now, I'll summarise. GM, please chip in if I err.
At a multi-table special there are always a number of Aid Tokens, representing the efforts of the massed hordes of Pathfinders: unlike in a normal scenario we are not discreet groups pursuing separate missions. I don't know how many aid tokens there are, I suspect it's linked to the number of tables running.
Any given table can "expend" an Aid Token at any time, for any one of the benefits listed on the Token. A table can't have more than one Aid Token at once. When a table expends a Token, it does not disappear. Instead it is passed to another table, where it can be used and passed on again. So there is generally no advantage in holding a Token, just use it and pass it on, that way all of the tables will get more Token uses and our chances of collective success increase.
"Boosting" is a different option. If we don't particularly need any of the Token's benefits, we can instead attempt certain checks or expend certain resources to apply a Boost, as described on the Token. A Token that has a Boost grants a greater benefit, but that particular Boost is only good for one use (I think). For example, if we decided to Boost the Allied Offensive benefit we (could be any of us) would make an attack roll against "Average AC" (a target number set by the scenario) - success means that Allied Offensive gets a boost from 1d8 to 2d8 extra damage. Some boosts can be applied very easily out of combat. If we apply a boost we immediately pass on the Token, just like we would if we had expended the Token.
Hope that helps!
EDIT: ninja'd by the GM!
GM Dennis |
Please use or boost the aid token soon and pass it along. If you don't need it at the moment, boost it and pass it to another table. The more they circulate, the more of them you will see over the course of the special, and the more they get in the hands of tables that need them at the moment. As a basic rule of thumb, try not to hold on to one for more than 48 hours. Thanks!
GM Gustavef |
Ok. Boosted and passing along the aid Token!
GM Gustavef |
Don't worry, with the number of tokens in play, we will get them fairly regularly.
Ridley Zane |
I seem to be the first one posting for which task to tackle (probably just due to our GMs and my posting schedules syncing up). I don't want anyone to feel like they have to go along with what I pick, so if anyone has any tasks that they want to do, how about we post them here and have a running list of the order in which we want to tackle things so that other people can have more of a say?
GM Gustavef |
If you want. let me know what you would want to do for the next one now. That way I can get that mission prepped as well. And give everyone a chance to voice.
Sleeping Sword |
I'd like to do the Silver Crusade and Scarab Sage missions if possible.
Noke Tiiz |
Sovereign Court and Scarab Sages
GM Gustavef |
Ok. I will plan on Sovereign Court then Scarab Sages. Unless any close before we get to them
GM Gustavef |
Ok. Almost done with Sovereign Court.
Scarab Sages is on deck. Will start that tomorrow.
Then Silver Crusade.
GM Gustavef |
BTW, for the global completion of the Dark Archives:
Once during the adventure, the PCs can activate this benefit grant all undead creatures present the confused condition for 1 round.
GM Gustavef |
The Exchange Condition:
At the beginning of one encounter, the PCs can activate this benefit to treat the enhancement bonuses of all their weapons as 2 higher for the duration of the encounter.
GM Gustavef |
Next up Sliver Crusade. Then Grand Lodge. Exchanged is done for everyone.
GM Uktar |
***Token 6***
Passing token to: GM Gustavef
Current Boosts: None
Ridley Zane |
So what now? We've completed all the missions that aren't closed. Do we just hang out until we move on to the next section?
GM Gustavef |
So The only two you have not done are the Grand Lodge and the Exchange.
Both of which have been "Completed" from the rest of the tables.
We can still do them.
Grand Lodge is "storm the walls" encounter
The Exchange is a Negotiation (with either words or swords)
So quick vote here while we take a break.
Second, I will be unavailable next weekend, but I have a GM set up for then. However, that will be the beginning of the next Part, where you take the fight to them. There are two paths, By land or By sea.
If you can also decide now, I can have everything ready for GM Khaoz to get you rolling.
Noke Tiiz |
I vote for break. ;-)
And would vote for “by land”.
Ridley Zane |
I don't have a strong opinion about the land or sea bit, so I'll cede to the others.
Due to the fact that bombs are a limited resource, I'm going to vote we avoid any more combat encounters. If people want to do the Exchange negotiation, I'd be down for it.
Sleeping Sword |
A couple of questions for you relating to the Silver Crusade faction journal cards GM:
Were the undead agents we defeated at least CR3?
Does the named leader of the Sarenites in the last mission qualify as a divine spellcaster, and if so, did we either rescue her or collaborate with her "to overcome an obstacle directly related to success conditions"?
I don't mind whether we take the land or sea route - small preference for land I suppose.
Happy to take a break, especially if it makes no difference to the chronicle sheet.
GM Gustavef |
The Bigger black Echelon that you have meet are CR3.
And yes for both the leader of the Sarenite question.
So my thought is to do the Exchange mission next week, but slow it down for just a easy roleplaying session while we wait for the next act to start next week.
But I will kick that off after the weekend.
GM Gustavef |
Looking at the GM discussion looks like we are not the only table just chilling. I did post the Exchange scene for those that want role-play, but do not spend any resources.
The next Part may start early so be ready.
Savina Heterodinus |
Sea seems to be undead while land seems to be demon-flesh. Demon tends to resist better elemental damage, in case this is a factor for our bomb tosser alchemists.
Sleeping Sword |
Sleeping Sword is better against undead, generally. His Gentle Rest touch attack can Stagger an undead for 3 rounds. I could grab a few scrolls of Touch of the Sea if need be.
Noke Tiiz |
Noke's hexes are useless against Undead and that actually makes it interesting. ;-)
So land is better!
