Game Master Monkeygod

What happens to the world when the heroes fail and die?

I believe the question is not do we continue period, but rather

1) Keep the current group of 3/4 PCs

2) Hit recruiment for replacements from those not selected?

3) Re-open recruiment for brand new players.

If the group (both PCs and co-GMs) don't mind, I have a few friends on here I trust to make awesome characters that would absolutely add to the game.

However, while this game was my initial idea, it's a unique enough game where I want everyone's opinions on new players.

Male Human (Tian-Min) Fighter 8

I'd be fine with some new players. I also find that recruiting privately tends to go a little smoother for picking up new blood once a game has started--whether by just asking friends you know, or picking from the initial recruitment pool.

I also know I haven't been posting a lot in here lately, and I apologize for that. Matsuoka doesn't have much of a way to help with our current affairs, so he's mostly on standby until we get moving toward the demon-fighting shindig. That said, if any of our GMs want to throw something my way, I'm always up for it!

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Trusted players are always welcome. I would like to get the current group into a more actionable area before they join though, or perhaps have them join on the boat? *shrug*

HP: 17 | AC: 17 | Fort (E): +6; Ref (T): +3; Will (E): +8 Spell DC (T): 16 | Perception (T): +6 | Senses: Darkvision, Low-Light Vision

I think that adding one or two players wouldn't hurt.

Initially this game was described to be very much sandbox style with an allowance for characters to not have to be a group of adventurers.

Sandbox relies on players making decisions and GM's providing the game world response.

AP's are not sandbox, the players are responding to GM delivered options and descriptions.

IF you like the idea of going in the direction you want to go, then players need to be much more active in proactive posting to give us something to work with. This tends to be much more "off the cuff" because if I detail a bunch of information for the worldwound and the players head off for the desert...

So I also see at this point, do you want to keep it sandbox?
Do the players want to remain independent of each other or join up as a group?

In either case, let us know what part of the world you want to go to and we can work on providing more detailed world data.

Dark Archive

I will actually go off on my own if it will help get things going. Now that the note has been made once loc has his supplies he will take his dullahan and head out.

HP: 17 | AC: 17 | Fort (E): +6; Ref (T): +3; Will (E): +8 Spell DC (T): 16 | Perception (T): +6 | Senses: Darkvision, Low-Light Vision

Karen is a group-oriented character, so she'll at least wait to see what the results of the diplomacy attempt are, but if it's a bust she's going to leave.

I like the current stuff in general, but I feel a need for prompter responses to my actions. I've been trying to handle this so I can go back and talk with the others and then go on the ship to the mainland and get involved in person and all that, but the post rate has been really slow.

If our posts get slow responses, it's hard to post more pro-active stuff, and I also feel my sidequest taking so long is slowing things down for the others because they're likely waiting to get their boots on the ground so to speak.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Speeding things up is a goal of mine. I'll be taking Loc (and whoever goes with him, if any) and we will be doing his thing in spoilers which might help the pace.

Dark Archive

Sounds good. Loc will head right towards the nearest boat to the mainland then. He will get a nice disguise for the dullahan as well, mostly but jut keeping him in full armor the entire time. A fake head and some paint will take care of the rest.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

If you could go ahead and post that in character over in gameplay and give me a disguise roll.

Could I get a response to my last post? What does Griola say in response?

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Sorry for the delay. I'm doing some research on the whispering way.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

I got home last night to a sick child and now I have to go into a secure building today until 6p eastern time so no update until this evening again. Sorry for the delay. Blame my life.

Lian and fellow travelers have five options:

1) Find the pilgrim to gain legal access to the ISA with boon.
2) Sneak into the ISA.
3) Go through the slow process of getting a visa at the embassy.
4) Go around the ISA, probably through Varisia.
5) Do something else.

Keep in mind, 4 carries it's own dangers, as the Runelords(at least two) now rule Varisia, and surrounding areas, and there's a war with Kazavon.

Pretty much doesn't matter where they go, everything has gone to s&!*e.

Now we've got the problem of having two conflicting boatrides. I was hoping this'd be a way to aid in the prior one ^^; My goal was to get in with a meeting with the ISA and then see where I could go from there.

Unless I've missed something, Anevia never said she was providing them passage to the main land. Especially considering she's not a ship's captain, but rather that was her former rank in the military.

There's also no time limit on finding her wife, her whole complaint before was that it would potentially take you weeks(if not longer) to even talk to somebody in the ISA. Let alone begin looking for Irabeth.

However, you could also go talk to her in game, and find out how she feels.

Ah, I may have misunderstood some things. That does simplify things. And yea, I'll swing by her ^^

Most of you probably died before these social changes started occurring. Consider this free know:local.

The world is a much more grim environment than mainstream pathfinder. Paranoia is a common emotion. Many cities have increased patrols to respond to flash mobs, in addition to responding to a potential incursion of whatever evil is taking over that corner of the world.

This is also one of the reasons we're taking a more conservative view on international transportation.

People are scared. That or fatalistically resigned. Consider that many famous adventurers have all met their end, some gruesomely.

There are still areas of the world, even within some nations, where the news is slow enough, or the events distant enough, that people carry on normally with the thought of "not me, not us." The populace of Absalom generally understands the concerns with the influx of refugees. The island status has many believing they are safe. However the docks are much more heavily patrolled now.

Until the PC's start making a name for themselves, they will frequently be greeted with distrust and fear.

I am posting this to all my games (apologies if you see this multiple times):

I am going to be out of town for an work conference that I was asked to go on last minute. I will be out of town through Friday (the 27th). There will be internet a the hotel, but the schedule will be really hectic and I won't have a lot of time to post.

Please bot me if I am in your game, and if you are in my game, please note that I will probably not be making an update until Saturday at the earliest.

Apologies and thank you for your patience.

It might help pacing to occasionally go through and check what everyone wants to do, action-wise.

Sorry about that, with the site's f$&~ery lately, it's been a struggle to even get on, and I've had issues with posting and keeping up with all my games.

Parties are oh so much more fun when they split up...

Ugh, Lian, I can't see your last post :(

Just a statement:

"It seems while there was a bit of confusion, we have a route, we have a goal, and we have a means."

Yea, I'm able to see it now, but last night, I saw you had posted, but when I cliked on your name to go to the new post, it was missing.

Karen, where does the doubling of darkvision come from for being orc/dwarf?

HP: 17 | AC: 17 | Fort (E): +6; Ref (T): +3; Will (E): +8 Spell DC (T): 16 | Perception (T): +6 | Senses: Darkvision, Low-Light Vision

Since we could make modifications to our race, I spend the (i think 2) rp to double her darkvision.

So...

Orc-blooded is a 0 RP trait.

Darkvision 120 feet is 3 RP.

I could see you trading in the 2 RP from darkvision 60' for the 3 RP, but you'd still need to come up with 1 rp.

I recall that players could trade out an ability, but not get more RP than their base race.

If you have a reference for otherwise, point it out.

HP: 17 | AC: 17 | Fort (E): +6; Ref (T): +3; Will (E): +8 Spell DC (T): 16 | Perception (T): +6 | Senses: Darkvision, Low-Light Vision

MG did, in this post.

Emphasis mine.

I also mentioned in when I submitted Karen, but I realize that there was a lot of chaos around that time, so it might have been missed. The only other change I made to half-orc is that she's half-dwarf instead of half-human, since her father is an orc and her mother is a dwarf.

okay, thank you.

and speak up if I missed you.

Welcome back!

Although if I were a ninja, I would just say I have been posting all along but you couldn't see them because...well, ninja.

Mugmuff! Well, Lian would certainly appreciate a ninja coming along ^^

And she's just gathering people to leave.

Since Matsuoka was accompanying her during the discussions I assume he is *likely* with Lian.

And anyway, ready to get on a boat!

sorry if I'm slow posting the last few days and the next few as well... We are suffering from high winds and surrounded by fires in all directions. Constant power outages from the winds and service outages from both power problems and the fires are playing hell with my connection. I will post as I can, but please bot me if necessary.. thanks.

Male Weremonkey Rogue/Ranger/Trickster

Stay safe buddy!!

Take care of yourself.

And honestly there's a notable lack of pacing. It's hard to remember to check when there's so little replies to actions.

I believe Fnord is tied up with finals. I plan to take over Karen's arc, once she gets on the ship.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

I have no excuse. Just pain old forgetfulness for me. :(

HP: 17 | AC: 17 | Fort (E): +6; Ref (T): +3; Will (E): +8 Spell DC (T): 16 | Perception (T): +6 | Senses: Darkvision, Low-Light Vision

I belive that I am ready to get on the ship now, barring anything unusual happening, like random attacks by ninjas.

I mean I've been waiting for a reply for 11 days. And in general things have just been happening at a really slow pace.

Unfortunately, this is a side affect of four players in three games using the same thread.

I say three games, because we don't have four players in one group.

We also have multiple GMs and frankly the response times really need improving (and we were encouraged to split up to boot).

The thumb drive that I use to keep a portable copy of my pdf library had a software glitch that has been slow in repairing.

At the same time the raid assembly on my desktop that contains the master library also experienced a drive failure.

My desktop is in the shop getting the raid moved to a new array.

Dark Archive

I apologize for the long wait. Holidays have me a bit busy.
