MY FELLOW GAMERS!! I KNEW YOU'D COME!! IT WILL BE DELIGHTFUL!!

When we all wake up, are we together? Can we see each other?

Nope, you are each in a separate stall. Sorry if that wasn't overly clear. Was rather late whenI wrote that up.

sorry for my absence.... was away for the holiday weekend and came back to a new computer and had lost my open page to the discussion... I'm here now and will finish reading in gameplay and make a post so this appears on my campaign page and I hopefully don't miss any more posts.

For the record, Anastasia isn't looking at the stable boy like she wants to eat him, but more like she's very confused about why she doesn't want to eat him.

Quick rules announcement:

For cool, utterly story/flavor moments like Mug jumping on the haft of the stick the stable boy was poking him with, no rolls are necessary. As long as the action has zero to do with combat, or plot, feel free to assume you auto-succeed.

Pro tip, if you're unsure if you should roll or not, chances are you should, in fact, roll dem bones.

Just a heads up, apparently the weird glitch from the other day is back, preventing many from accessing the site. I am only able to post this via my phone, and turning off my WiFi.

Also, I am away from my books, and need one of them to describe where you are.

Thus due to both of those things, expect a post from me some time tomorrow, hopefully.

all fixed now apparently.

Male Human (Tian-Min) Fighter 8

I was having the same problem, coupled with family stuff IRL, which is why I haven't posted much.

Yea, it seems to be fixed, and let's hope it remains that way, I definitely can't make any decent length posts via my phone.

Just got back home, gonna take a much needed nap, if all goes well, I shall get a post up tonight.

To all of my games:

I am currently operating with limited internet access. I will do my best to update when I can, but I don't think I will have internet until at least monday.

If I am a player in your game, please bot me. If I am a GM, know that I haven't dropped the game and I am committed to keeping it going. Thank you.

Hopefully Paizo's forum has stabilized...

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Not for me

Yea, it was flaky after I posted that too. I think it's getting better...

Still no internet at home (because of course, why would I have internet I am paying for?) but there is now a technician scheduled to come out on Friday, so barring anything odd it should be up then).

Just a slight heads up, because of the very different start of this game, I'll be a bit slow in making official GM posts, at the beginning.

Not only does it help you each explore your own characters, but also the other PCs. Other than dying, there's really no uniting factor(save for our two Carrion Crown buddies), so I want you all to have a bit of time establishing at least tenuous bonds.

For the record, it's about 4pm. The gloom outside is definitely not just from the clouds and the apparently impending downpour.

If you have any questions, or need more details, please feel free to ask.

One of the main things I try to do as a GM is work with the players to make sure they are getting the best game they can. Sometimes that will involve altering or even bending the rules, other times its taking time to talk out any issues you might have, either with the game(and/or other players/PCs) or with your own character.

We've all built what we thought was going to be an awesome PC, only to have it kinda suck once game began. Or we found a cooler option, or even a better class. Heck, there's even been occasions where I have seen a player want to utterly change their PC to something completely different.

As this game, with you being alive, dying and being brought back, is not like most(any) other type of game out there, I will allow ONE *free* total re-work of a character, should you decide your current one is not for you.

After that, any changes will likely be handled via the rebuild rules, though depending on what, exactly, you want to change, I might wave costs/times.

Time for character interaction is good- I think people are probably picking up Lian scouting things out and starting to make connections.

Couple more things:

1) If you haven't already, please copy what your gifts do into your profile, so we don't need to look them up.

2) Also, please include a description, including hair and eye color, and any distinguishing marks(Tats, scars, etc)

3) GM ruling for Flesh Made True: Since it only says it does not cure HP damage, I'm going to allow it to duplicate any of the various removal spells(poison, disease, ability damage, etc), except it can only be one per round. Basically, Heal, minus the HP. However, I'm going to also allow it to remove permanent ability damage, at a rate of 1d4 per use.

Karen, since I believe you're the only one with this gift, I would like your honest feedback on this ruling.

On the Worldwound, while Loc certainly missed out on the fifth crusade... as-of his time of death, the *fourth* would still be fairly fresh in memory (which caused the initial damage to the wards later exploited) if it's finished at all, so it still makes sense for him to suspect Demons! Though not to the level they reached with the failure of the fifth crusade.

HP: 17 | AC: 17 | Fort (E): +6; Ref (T): +3; Will (E): +8 Spell DC (T): 16 | Perception (T): +6 | Senses: Darkvision, Low-Light Vision

That seems like a reasonable interpretation, although It looks like it is single target, not area effect like I assumed that it was; It also looks like it clears all of those things but doesn't require me to expend effort as I thought it did.

As a general rule with these kinds of things, I think that the simplest conversion possible is probably the best conversion.

To clarify though and make sure that I'm getting it right, is it clearing one condition per use, or one target of all conditions (except ability damage) per use?

Male Human (Tian-Min) Fighter 8

Hey all, posting this in all my games to let people know I'll be away for a few days. My family is headed to camp later today, and I won't have Internet or my computer while I'm there. I should be back and posting Friday afternoon/evening (Eastern Time), but please push the game as needed, botting my character if you need to do so. Thanks!

Dark Archive

I will also be gone from Thursday until Sunday as well.

Checking in

Hiya kids, it's your favorite shattered simian here with a bunch of info that was too 'all over the place' to include in my in game post!

First and foremost, I am well aware that the Ruins of Pathfinder wiki and 'expanding Worldwound' to do not match up, and there's likely lots of contradictions.

Because we aren't using the actual 'what if the PCs failed at Reign of Winter', in many cases, the WotR info supersedes Ruins when there's any conflict.

However should there be something that you're unsure of, or you need clarification, please ask.

Since this is a very open world, I'm not going to spend hours and hours, and days and days re-writing *everything*. If there's some place you want to go, we'll work out the actual changes and goings on.

Now then some additional changes, beyond what's already been revealed in game. Penshi informs you of all of this, as I imagine you'll have plenty of questions.

All of Mendev has been overrun by the demonic horde, and everything east of Starfall in Numeria as well. Surprisingly, the bizarre inhabitants and even stranger technology of the Silver Mount was able to turn back the vile demons. There's whispered rumors of things known as 'Iron Giants' decimating vast swaths of the Abyssal horrors that poured out of the Worldwound.

Sadly, the same could not be said for Brevoy, as that entire nation was also destroyed by the forces of Deskari.

The unending horde marched straight into the River Kingdoms, easily crushing any and all resistance among the fractured states. There's rumors of a hold out in what used to be the Stolen Lands, and is now supposedly a section of the First World. However, nobody has been able to confirm said rumors. Areelu Vorlesh rules the former River Kingdoms and what was once northern Galt, and it is whispered she is now the new Demon Lord of Succubi.

Meanwhile, Treerazer has take over the remains of Kyonin, southern Galt, as well as the northern portions of the Five Kings Mountains and northeastern Druma.

Holy Hells, its almost 2am. I need sleep. I will keep updating things over the next few days hopefully.

Again, if there's anything in specific you want or need to know about, just ask!

Well, at least we won't have nothing to do!

I'll think if I have any questions ^^

Hm, seems like Lian's fey foes are already supplanted as a threat!

Davia D wrote:

Well, sorta. The Stolen Lands were swapped with a portion of the First World. Because, apparently, the official 'PCs fail Kingmaker' doesn't have any actual affect on Golarion, aside from the Stolen Lands being transported to the fey realm.

Which, is all fine and awesome, but I wanted the normal world to be affected as well.

So, Lian's kingdom? It's trapped in the First World still, but there's now also a powerful fey realm where it used to be.

Of course, she doesn't know *any of this*, aside from the *rumors and speculation* I posted above, but I wanted to let you know I'm not just tossing aside your plot in favor of demons.

She did get clear before the swap, then died to fey at another city state not long after, so this is very much what she'd know.

Male Human (Tian-Min) Fighter 8

Back from vacation and ready to roll. Ken'ichi would have been mostly struck silent by what the stable boy told him, so I'll hold off on posting IC for now.

Here are the two major alliances that have sprung up after the events of the Worldwound:

Inner Sea Alliance: Once it seems Golarion’s apocalypse is at hand, Andoran, Cheliax, and Taldor form the Inner Sea Alliance. All three have the wealth and forces to contend, but Cheliax is the best suited to combat the demon horde. Hellknights train and outfit recruits by the hundreds every day. Though most of the forces of Hell are uninterested in the outcome of the conflict, powers in Cheliax are able to secure the aid of an infernal duke and his army of devils. Taldor and Andoran both provide armies, taking Galt and splitting its lands between them.

NOTE: Galt is currently *not* split between Taldor and Andoran.

West Encarthan Confederacy: After Ustalav falls and the Inner Sea Alliance is formed, Lastwall, Molthune, and Nirmathas follow suit and create the West Encarthan Confederacy to march north to defend the new front lines. Razmiran falls within a month of invasion, and its refugees
brave Lake Encarthan to reach the western shores to join the confederacy. Internal conflicts invite corruption, but the soldiers are strong and know their battlefields. The West Encarthan Confederacy manages to hold the lines and the demonic threat is contained in Ustalav as long as the Inner Sea Alliance stands.

NOTE: Ustalav is under the dominion of Tar-Baphon, who has expanded out past the country he was was entrapped in, though not too far.

PCs: Please feel free to update/alter responses in game, as I had thought I had provided this info to you all in recruitment but that may have not been the case.

There are allies out there, but obviously, getting audiences with leaders will be tricky.

Cheilax is the main power and authority in the Inner Sea Alliance, while Lastwall commands things for the WEC.

Everyone still around?

I had a very crazy, busy weekend.

Nobody replied in game with the new info I provided, so I might post as Penshi tomorrow to push you all along.

This game was designed to be very sandboxy.

As such, we are relying on the players to decide what direction they want to go in. We'll continue to provide information IC through NPC's and CNN, but we're letting the players do the driving.

Our railroad has been delayed due to a shortage of ballast.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

We have contingencies for things even if you split into separate parties, so don't worry about doing your thing. We have a triad of DM's for a reason. :)

knowledge local is all about walking around talking to people to learn what you can about a situation.

There's only so much you'll get from a bartender and stableboy.

Btw, Lian has a familiar, being a Sage type it has knowledge skills, but I haven't actually put it's stats on the sheet yet, really should get around to doing that ^^

Please stat out your familiar, especially if you want to use it.

I'm just waiting to arrive at this captain.

Sorry, was working a convention in Va this weekend, and ended up being WAY busier than I expected. Which is an absolutely awesome thing, but obviously affected all my games. I will try to post either tonight or tomorrow as the captain.

Co-GMs,

I would like to run this scene, so please give me the time to do so.

Heads up everybody:

I will be leaving for GenCon tomorrow, and as I am working, I do not know how much time I will have to check on games, let alone post to them.

Fnord, Choon, if you guys would like to run a scene for those still in the Blessed Cup, feel free.

PCs, you guys can roam the city if you so desire, or wander around the Puddles, or whatever.

a pale crown beckons doesn't work on dead that received funeral rites or were dead more than a month to have the single greater undead.

The question then is what defines "funeral rites"?

I'm inclined to lean towards someone taking the time to dig a grave and mark it. Are priests/clerics the only ones that can give funeral rites?

Dark Archive

Hmmm from a standpoint I would say as long as a worshipper of said god offers up a prayer and carries out a funeral. Just putting some one in the ground with a marker seems a little to little with the big religions having sections of holy books about how to prepare the dead. But thats just my opinion.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

That tends to be my thought as well. That is why I set up this instance for loc to learn that fact in character.

Loc might want to consider the repercussions to practicing necromancy in the middle of a large city.

Or walking around with a skeletal servant.

Dark Archive

Oh I don't have a skeletal servant. Need a dead body before I can get one of those. Right now he is just looking to experiment a little. I ain't keeping anything permanent until we are out of the city. He just needs to test his new strength before going out to war.

Between midnight and dawn would be the best time to find a fresh dead body. Be sure to check dark alleys. :)
