Mabel rolls, and flops unto the floor.she stands up, and looks about, her hood having fallen down. You get a good look at her face for the first time, horribly scarred and disfigured. A blindfold covers the eyes, but you get the feeling thst's becuase they probobly aren't there at all, anymore.

He raises a slight eyebrow as if to call into question their lack of 'nice' animals, but jerks his head towards the door anyways.

"Mabel and Parson are hitched to the tree outside trimming the grass. Parson's grey and Mable's the Clydesdale."

He sets the sack on the table and hands a bottle and some bread and meat to Cal.

He takes some for himself and sits, stretching his knees out wide and leaning back onto only the back two legs of the chair. What he intends to do with what remains in the sack and the few bottles next to it on the table is yet to be stated, giving rise to the question of whether or not the doctor and Drake would think Michael has claimed them enough to be provided for or not.

the mage smiles widely, and heads out to go meet the horses, happy to go and see an animal that isn't too likely to be a threat to her. At least, not if she deals with it properly- she does, of course, approaching from the sides and gently reaching out to touch the horse, glad to meet the animal.

cal eats quickly and quietly, taking care not to look at mable for too long. Might spoil his appetite.

"Isn't booze a bad idea for a growing child, yes I kno rupture mind is mature, this time your childish body is actually of some relavance... Those general medical classes were so very long ago"

"Mm. I donno. If so, then I'm already screwed anyway."

cal fisnishes eating, and heads for the caravan.
"Gotta make some more bombs."

Mabel feels around until she finds a wall, then runs her hand across it as she moves, heading for where the keep the food.

The doctor begins his lecturer voice"Alcohol is a poison, Albiet a week one, and one that is better at killing disease then it is at killing you, an adult's liver and kidneys can handle this poison in small to moderate doses, and can repair damage done to them by not drinking for a while, a child's body being both smaller and having less developed liver, kidneys and brain can't filter the alcohol properly, and risks stunted growth, brain damage or even organ failure, that being said, that's how it works for human children, your mind is astoundingly well developed for your size, your other organs might be likewise well developed, in which case your only issues would be your light weight makeing you a.. Well lightweight, and it potentially stunting your growth, in truth I don't know enough to say one way or another"

cal listens, then leaves without any extra words.

When Mabel makes her way down Bill calls out to her "hello there, my name is Dr Carter, or william if you prefer, first off I want to ask how you are feeling, I would then like to talk to you about the man that sometimes speaks to you in your dreems, but that can wait for after you eat"

Mabel stops in place.
"Who are you talking about. Exactly."

"Good, see, I've only recently met him but it's always nice to have confirmation that you aren't crazy"

He snorts "fine, I'm not crazy in this one way, but in all seriousness, I am a licenced psychologist"

"And? You're a mage. If you're not crazy now, you will be. We make a life out of cheating reality. It has... consequenses."

"... I want to say that I can fix those consequences, but honestly I don't know enough to be certian about that, and really, not knowing enough is the root problem,"

"... Do you know why I'm blind?"

"Yes. I thoguht they were trying to slip away to steal my brain, no naturally, I had to protect it. Magic isn't a toy. It can lead to going incredibly mad, and this has consequeses... Even after you relax, manage to scrape together your thoguhts, you've usally been hurt you your own madness. And you never quite know what'll push you over the edge."

".... You've given me a bit to think about... I'll have to ponder that at length later... Is there a spell that would regrow your eyes, restore your vision?"
is there a regenerate or remove blindness/deafness spell in this setting

"We haven't found any to do that, yet. So. Back to chalk. Why'd you bring him up?"

"You should probably look into researching that... Ah! Yes! Nearly forgot, the reason I study of magic is to learn more about the way the universe really works, chalk is an aspect of that, so I was wondering if you have any incite into dealing with him, or even any interesting stories"

"Dealing with chalk? You tolerate him. As best you can.regsrdless of how frustrating he can be."

"Hmm poo, I had hoped that expire nice had taught you a trick or two that I hadn't seen yet, but that's basically my current strategy, that and feign mild disinterest, do you have any idea how many people he's in the heads of? Or perhaps why he only inhabits humans?"

"Not really, no."

He shrugs, "worth a shot, ah well, I guess if there's nothing else that needs to be done we'll just have a bite to eat and be on our way"

If Mabel or the other mages don't stop him he eats breakfast, jots down his expirences in his journal and then leaves
