1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29 boom, nailed it, is this a life threat if amount of leaches?"everyone, be careful there are leaches in these waters"
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
no, not terribly threatening. Just generally unpleasant. Possibly desease-carrying, like all blood suckers.
M Human
The doctor looks down at himself periodically making sure none of them latch onto him, and removing and skewering on his dagger those who do latch on.
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
Michael keeps them at bay by keeping the lower half of his body on fire.
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
that only woks on weapons, I thought.

so, eventually, everyone makes it across the river! with minimal leeches.
everyone who pushed roll a DC 12 fort save VS taking 2 con damage from minor blood loss. Success means you were vigilant enough to prevent most leeches from getting on you.
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
The leeches are incapable of biting Michael's manly exterior.

could I get a bonus from my natural 20 perception 1d20 ⇒ 20 EDIT: never mind
The doctor's reflexes and perceptions were such that none of them were on his body for more than a half second before they were removed, skewered and thrown back as a warning to the others.
male elf (hp=11/11) (sp=27/32) (rsp=6/9)
eww leeches: 1d20 ⇒ 13
i hope we can go back a another way, I don't want to deal with those again.
The robed Mage inquiries in a irritable tone while checking himself again for any leaches.
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
eventually, you wind up on the hill, relatively unscathed. night is starting to fall.
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
"It's getting dark, but we still need to keep going. We'll get as far as we can before nightfall."
He climbs back up into the driver seat next to Cal.
"And we're going back the long way."

hey doc, Michael, I see a light emitting over the hill there, most likely a fire of some sort.
He Gesters to said hill.
should we investigated?
M Human
"Well, given we're heading in the general direction I don't see why not"
just thought about it, but in character the doctor would have gone to the horses and immediately removed any leaches from them, he would likely be joined by Michael at least
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
I forgot to mention that.... It makes sense, and I forgot anyway, so....
M Human
moving things along, the horses get directed towards the light
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
"May be the town, hope to God."
He drives the horses on towards it.
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
you see three hooded figures, sitting around a campfire.
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
"Hoods."
He grumbles.
"Hoods is always crazy..."
He adds.
He turns to the group, wondering what they would suggest.
M Human
"Hello there! If you would mind giving us directions? We're on a mission of great import, and we might be a tad lost"
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
one of the hooded people stands up! and flips back the hood! revealing long black hair. With facial structure, probably female.
"On a..."
she pauses a moment.
"I doubt you're lost."
M Human
The doctor looks confused "wherever we are, if we don't know where that is we'd be lost... Unless you think I'm lieing"
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
the person looks exceedingly exhausted.
"No, no. Come over here. It's hard to talk this loud."
M Human
Carter motions for Michel to move the cart that direction
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
He moves the cart closer, but not right up next to them.
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
the person in the robes speaks calmly.
"You're here as a substitute for goodman, right?"
M Human
"I suppose you could call it that, yes. I suppose that makes you either the mages in distress, or someone affiliated with them?"
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
"Yeah, we're the mages you're looking for. Probobly. We're usually in there."
she gestures to a nearby cave, in the side of the hill. It looks like it actually goes surprisingly deep.
M Human
"So the reason you aren't, would that be because the runaway summon is in there or because otherwise you figure we'd get lost?"
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
"Oh. Why not now?"
He pulls up closer knowing they were the ones they were here for.
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
"We aren't in there because the shadow-beasts we summoned won't... De-summon. We'd usually be strong enough to deal with them, but because we summoned them, and because that takes focus, we can't concentrate on doing magic. Normally, we'h just stop focusing, but they won't leave, so our heads are foggy, and we haven't slept for a week. We haven't been allowed to. We've got a lot of mental fortitude, but I don't know how much longer we could've gone."
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
"So kill things and you get to sleep?"
He grossly oversimplifies.
M Human
"What would happen if you were to be knocked unconscious, drugged perhaps?"
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
Dr William "Bill" Carter wrote: "What would happen if you were to be knocked unconscious, drugged perhaps?" "Wouldn't work. We'd be awake, probably with even more brain damage the the lack of sleep has caused.... And yes, if you want to put it simply."
M Human
"Worth a shot" he says shrugging "working smarter instead of harder, as the saying, in that vein, what can you tell us about the summons we are to exterminate?"
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
"Uhh..."
the person is clearly struggling to remember.
"I think... There's three. Not the dumbest things. May try and ambush you."
M Human
He sighs "ok, not a lot, what were you trying to make, there should likely be some similarities, are they repealed by or especially hurt by particular attack method, or are they likewise resistant or attracted to any of them?"
also question, is this the same day as our last fight?
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
"Uh... Typical shadowbeast weaknesses, probobly. I don't even know what we were trying to make."
yes.
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
"Good. Now we know what to do."
He looks in the back.
"You finish that bomb yet, bud?"
M Human
uh what are such weaknesses again, it's been a while
The doctor sighs louder, his face in his palm muttering "doesn't know what they were trying to make, standard of rigger rassa frassen" he sighs again "is there anything you can tell me, what they look like, perhaps, quadruped? Humanoid? Wings, no wings? Does it use magic to fight, or claws, anything so we aren't going in completely blind?"
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
"Then you get to redeem yourself."
He pokes Cal's belly again as he tends to when he tries to lighten the mood.
"Grab my old one too. We'll be done before the sun's down."
I have that perk. I am also entitled to a bomb. :P

"I... Uh... Everything's gone foggy. Have you ever gone a sleep without week? It's not fun. I don't think... They can fly?"
Male Catfolk-Aasimar Inquisitor 3
"I assume nothing in there is worth more to you than your health?"
He says as he makes sure his guns are loaded.
M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1
"Nothing you could reasonably break."
