use this thread to discuss downtime events where the world tapestry might be failing next and also use it to let me know exactly what everyone has in mind as far as character design because there are some classes especially prestige classes that I'm not too familiar with. The game play thread will be up by the end of the week I hope, sorry this is taking so long to get started still not have to store how this all works.

doublegold here, the class I take depends upon the AP path you run. But there are only a few classes I play.
For core I play, Ranger, Fighter, Cleric, Druid
For base I play, Magus, Gunslinger, Summoner
What race am I playing, I don't know until you tell us what races are allowed, but when it comes to core, I almost always go human or elf.

here are the parameters for the world tapestry adventure campaign series starting level level 1/starting wealth hundred 50 goals/whatever level I says whichever is higher/books that will be allowed in the campaign for now core rulebook, advanced players guide, ultimate combat, Pats of prestige and pirate of the inner Sea player compendium/class restrictions all classes in these books will be allowed however some will only be able to be taken in certain areas examples the priest of Razmir can only be taken if the party is in Razmir's home land due to the fact that the priest must be anointed their. I am also change for paladins and anti-paladins as well as assassins. Paladins can be any good alignment in my eyes and anti-paladins and assassins can be any evil alignment keep in mind as the campaign goes on new books will become available for use.

A ship journey, eh? Assuming this is not, in fact, the Skull & Shackles AP (which I'm already involved in), I'd be interested in turning out something unusual, maybe a catfolk swashbuckler, or perhaps, if the GM is open to it, something even more intriguing...
It would be a very unusual circumstance (and not normally permitted), but if the GM is game, I'd love to try a pixie rogue. or perhaps a sorcerer.
If it makes a difference, I am a very experienced role-player with over 30 years of experience as a GM. If the GM would rather not deal with the potential problems of having a pixie PC, I fully understand, but if he is amiable to it, I'd love to give it a whirl.

A little more about my potential fairy character. I would, of course, be willing to start with the base stats for such a character (all stats start at 10 before racial adjustments), average hit points, and needing 15,000 for the next level (she would start with only her racial hit dice and skills; no class levels).

For all intents and purposes, she would be 4th level until the rest of the party caught up, at which point she would progress normally.

Wow! Did I completely kill the thread and the game?

I can send you any details on the pixie that you need, but it is a monstrous race detailed in the Bestiary (and here).
As I said, it normally isn't a racial option available to characters, and it does begin at effectively 4th level. The ability to fly, go invisible, and the various at will detection abilities (detect chaos, detect evil, detect good, detect law) contribute to it's power. These are somewhat balanced by the fact that she is susceptible to flying rules and suffers a big penalty to Strength (and I did say that I would use the ability scores as written). The fact that she is small also limits the amount of damage that she can do in combat, and she cannot wear armor (without having it specially tailored, and even then it would prevent her flight). Same goes for backpacks or heavy loads. She simply cannot fly with them.
That said, the DR 10/cold iron presents a real problem and I am not adverse to losing that ability or having it suppressed until she reaches 5th level. For that matter, back in 2nd edition D&D, they used to let characters like the pixie gain their abilities slowly, over the course of several levels. We could work up something similar.
Of course, the easiest thing is to simply say, "no," and I won't blame you for that. Another, third option is to let me build her as a custom race using the rules in the Advanced Race Guide. She would lose several of her abilities, but I think that I could keep the basic flavor of the character.

fly okay that might be a dealbreaker right there the only reason I say this is because a party I was in but not running back in 3.5 had a character capable of flight and the dungeon Master had a really hard time dealing with that character in particular. Not that the player playing the character was abusive the power it was just very hard to deal with so I'm sorry but at this point I'm going to say no. Mind you I really don't want to I think the idea of a pixie is hysterical but there are some things I just don't want to deal with in my first campaign and flying is definitely high on that list. Unless the rules for fly in Pathfinder aren't too difficult.
Also one of the other players was talking about using maps to keep track of movement in combat and such I have an app on my tablet that acts as a 3-D tabletop but I can't find a version of this for the computer you have any ideas on what I can do?
WhtKnt |
Not too difficult, but I understand. Now let me throw this by you. Would you object if I used the Advanced Race Guide to customize or even build a unique race? I've been wanting to "test-drive" the race building rules. I would provide full details on the race, and I will avoid flight abilities.
Again, no problem if you would rather me stick to the established rules for your first time out.

As to the map, most of us use Google Drive or Roll 20 to post a VTT map. This has the advantage of letting the players move their own tokens (provided you authorize such). For 3D, I'm not really sure. I don't have any suggestions for handling that aspect.

I find Google Drive a little less work-intensive, but Roll 20 has the advantage of being more geared towards RPGs.
