Good luck in your travels! By Dhaka, do you mean Dhaka, Bangladesh?
I'll roll for you if any knowledge checks come up.

DM medlii |
Congratulations! You’ve now reached level 3! I’d like to make a small change to the leveling up process. Everyone gets one extra skill point each level for a crafting or profession skill. I think it gives your characters some additional depth and helps explain what they do in the when they aren’t out playing adventurer. You can retroactively give yourself the points you would have received at levels 1 and 2. I had meant to implement this at character creation, but it totally slipped my mind.

Bosch Glasthane |

Alright, I'm amending the crafting I did for Roscoe's armor, since he was small and advancing to medium. The costs for small and medium barding are both x2. As per your rulings this would only mean I'm paying for the conversion to masterwork for the armor. So the crafting costs a mere 50 gp.

Bosch Glasthane |

@Da Boss
Okay, what are your rulings on the time it would take to forge the following:
(For Typhon)
Mstwrk Dagger
Mstwrk Chainshirt
(Mine)
Mstwrk Greatsword
Mstwrk Mithral Breastplate
@Everyone
This is just the gear that presented itself to me, feel free to request other things.

Tessa Alee |

hp: 1d8 ⇒ 6 I'll take it.
Tessa is adding a second level of oracle, gaining burning hands as a divine spell so no armor failure chance. 3rd level feat = intensify spell. Free skill will be craft(tattoo).

Bandru Varz |

Ohh my this is exciting.
I think I will have to take craft bows/arrows

DM medlii |
For crafting, let's make it easy and say that you can complete 100gp worth of work in one day. If you beat the craft DC by at least 5, you can complete 200gp worth of progress in 1 day. Craft skill description and DCs for various items.

DM medlii |
I also updated the Campaign info page to include house rules and some of the NPCs you've met recently.

Corwin Avelard |

@DM
Can you link the Fishery map to the campaign page. That will make it easier to list all the changes that we are making.
I just want to make sure that there is proper space for Corwin to set up a classroom.
hp for leveling: 1d6 ⇒ 4 Well, i will take that...at least its average!

Corwin Avelard |

So its time to get all spreadsheety with the Mage...as usual. So the question is, how do you want to handle Corwin looking for scrolls? I imagine that because of his access to the Academae, he should have access to all the 1-3 level spells (as long as he pays for the scroll at full market value). Then 4+ we can do some more RP stuff for Corwin to access the Academae's library?

DM medlii |
Good idea - the Fishery map is updated, link is on the campaign info page

Bee's Aiding Crafting (Mstwrk Dagger): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15= Aiding
Bee's Aiding Crafting (Mstwrk Dagger): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12= Aiding
-----------------------------------

Further Greatsword (Orphan): 1d20 ⇒ 18= Aiding
Results:
Day 1: Crafting nearly completed
Day 2: Masterwork check failed, did not need to scrap the entire project though
Day 3: Project completed: Masterwork Greatsword
Day 4: Project Completed: Masterwork Dagger

DM medlii |
Great roleplaying guys!
Corwin - That sounds fair. Corwin (or anyone) has easy access to level 1-3 spells, scrolls or wands. Beyond that, Corwin should be able to research level 4+ spells at the Academae, and higher level wands and scrolls will be more difficult to buy. The Academae is the premier magical school in Golarion, so Corwin could get advice from other professors or have the proper equipment and supplies to do research. I am updating the house rules to include that information.
Tomorrow I will post about the Academae, Typhon's visit to Vencarlo, and we'll see where we get with Hookshanks.

Typhon B'Ru |

holy crap! did you just learn all those spells? Awesome.
nice
thinking on eventually seeing if i could enchant the dagger that Bosch made for me. Would like to start with returning then merciful. and maybe adding distance as well.

Bandru Varz |

flurry of bows now with longbow is at a plus 7 to hit with each shot. and now with deadly shot I can in essence power attack with bows 8-)
FoB PBS DA: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 1 - 1 = 25
dmg: 1d8 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 8
FoB PBS DA: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 1 - 1 = 27
dmg: 1d8 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 10
confirm crit FoB PBS DA: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 1 - 1 = 20
dmg: 1d8 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 10

Total damage 38 with crit 18 non crit I think I like this very much.

DM medlii |
Sorry for the confusion. House rule, Athletics is the combination of climb and swim (just like perception is the combination of spot and listen from 3.5, and stealth is a combination of hide and move silently, etc). Armor check penalty still applies, just as in climb and swim.
I am editing the house rules on the Campaign Info tab to include this.

Bandru Varz |

travelling on business but should be able to check in tonight and at least twice during the day Monday - Wednesday

Bosch Glasthane |

I've gotta say, the design of this chase scene's mechanics were really elegant. Took a couple of reads to fully understand but it certainly allows for characters of various specializations to remain relevant.

DM medlii |
Glad to hear it! I was somewhat concerned that it wouldn't translate well into play-by-post since the rules were fairly complex. I probably could have summarized them better for you guys. But it is a good way to make a chase more interesting than "okay the enemy's move is 30 feet, that means he can run at this speed... so in four rounds, we catch him!"
I found (after I'd already copy-pasted the rules from the module) that fairly similar rules are available on the PRD., in case you'd like to incorporate them into a game.
Good luck on your trip, Bandru!

Bandru Varz |

Thank you the trip to Arizona went well the full day of meeting at the conference were informative and educational, but the dinner was amazing.
I do like the way that pathfinder has dealt with chase scenes. This is actually the third I have been a part of on these forums. All seem a little differnt and have slightly different rules (why I was confused ont he double vs triple move). But they have all been fun and have been well executed so I definitely approve.
Also Bosch you, willing or not, have become my general / leader and I salute you.

Bandru Varz |

you mean more right cause I already see him as a greying man wise and competent.

Bandru Varz |

he seems older from the way he handles things

Bandru Varz |

Real life has come up and bitten me in the well yeah. I need to take care of personal issues and will have no time for extra stuff in my life. Because of this I will be leaving the game. I am sorry if this puts a burden on the game but my real life issues are far more important as I am sure you will all understand.
Thanks for the fun while it lasted.

DM medlii |
I'm sorry to hear that Bandru, but of course real life is more important than this game. Best of luck to you!

DM medlii |
For now, we will continue with a four-player party, I think you guys will be fine. If it becomes a problem for some reason, I will recruit someone else... Bandru's character will still be around in case things change for him, he has just had a change of heart about adventuring for the moment.

Corwin Avelard |

I am up for you putting out a recruitment if you want. You can be pretty selective if you want. Heck, no reason to take anybody if you don't want to.
Rogue, sorcerer, mage, cavalier. hmmm. I think we might want an oracle or cleric if we can get one. Thoughts?

Bosch Glasthane |

My only suggestion is to avoid another pet-based character to avoid bogging things down too much, otherwise we each have our specific niches and can probably make up for Bandru's absence easily.
We can still make up for a lack of dedicated healer with Tessa, her oracle levels and magical items. Corwin and Tessa can fill in ranged combat with spells. Me and Roscoe have got the front lines in hand and Typhon is an excellent skirmisher. Between all of us, we've got the utility abilities down pat and I can even provide some magical equipment at a vast discount in a few levels, savings which will carry over to the characters less reliant on nice weapons and armor.

DM medlii |
Hmm, I will put the feelers out and see what sort of response I get, but won't let it hold things up in the game. Like Corwin said, I can be picky! I am working on some ideas to better incorporate this added player into the storyline as well, so probably won't post an ad until this weekend.
From my perspective, the pets don't really bog things down gameplay in play by post since you can roll the attacks for your 1,000,000 summoned skeletons or whatever without wasting everybody's time like you do at the table (except your own, when you have to type out those 1,000,000 attack rolls).
