That's when Gabi passes out. She is completely unconscious. The haunt of Father Charlatan has worked it's terrible curse.
If it's not one thing, it's another.
Oh, you are awake? Thank goodness, I thought you would stay in that terrible coma forever. Here, drink some water. He offers you some cool clear water. Your head is pounding.[/b]

Red haired priest: Yes, yes, your adventuring friends left you here in my care. They left plenty of money and told me to make sure you recovered. A particularly green and buff looking Orc made me promise on the soul of my grandmother to see you through your illness. They went on to Lipidstadt. But do not worry about that just now. You need to rest and recover.
Outside the window the sun is shining, and a thrush is perched at the window.
Funny that bird. He's been sitting at that window since you arrived. It won't leave no matter what. I suppose I should put out some bread crumbs for it.
Gilderoy Targedew |
Gilderoy walks over to her, shaking his head. "As soon as I mentioned it, he disappeared. Dang it...Still so dangerous, this place." The strange sorcerer takes the young lady's hand and begins to pinch the skin, trying to stay calm.
"I should've done something..."
Gabriela Szabo |
Gabbi sighs and relaxes and gives the priest a smile. "That is Lisa, could be a sweety and and let her in."
A look of panic crosses her face just for moment and when the priest turns away she cast prestidigitation and covers her face and and hair, when she removes her hands her hair is brushed and redyed and her face is cleaned and slightly made-up to hide any imprefection. She looks back at the priest and Lisa and smiles.

I'm sorry Gabi, I was suppose to afford you a will save to see if you could avoid sucumbing to this terrible haunt. I will do it now for you: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Yup. You are unconcious.
Priest: This little bird is yours? How interesting! You must be quite the animal tamer to... The priest sees the transformation from Gabi's spell his jaw drops. You are beautiful! he says. But how did you...?? The priest is obviously quite taken with Gabi. This is going to wreck havoc with his vow of celibacy!

MEANWHILE IN THE REAL WORLD:
As Gilderoy watches and pinches you see ghostly blue chains burst up from the ground. Then entangle poor Gabi, tightly forcing her small frame flat to the ground. They coil around her neck, thighs, and upper arms. She is very very trapped now.
Gabi moans in her coma.

Gabi Will save again: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
A terrible terrible pain shoots through your body, Gabi. It's numbing and squeezingly nasty.
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Priest: Are you alright? What's the matter? What's going on??
dm night-shade |
REAL WORLD:
Gabi's body writhes under the chains. She looks to be in horrendous pain. It lasts a few moments, then her body relaxes again. She is breathing hard.
You all hear laughter and the chains rattle like the jolly belly of a jelly ho-ho man.
Lissala the Thrush |
Real world
Lissala who had been hoping around worried now is flutters her wings and claws at the chains. She then looks up at Gur [b"Hurry up ork and hit those chines with your weapon."[/b] turning to Talon "And you dwarf get the flasks that Gabbi was carrying out and trap this thing before it kills her."
she hops around a bit more peaking and clawing at the chains then quietly to her self she says "Odd she seems really happy, happier she has been in a long time."
Gabriela Szabo |
Gabbi tries to maintain her smile to the priest and mostly succeeds "I don't know, maybe its what brought me here. Did the others... No I'll be fine, lets talk about you. I can't keep calling you sweaty, what is your name?"
dm night-shade |
Father red-head hottie: You can call me Fathe...Well, how about just call me Zod? That's what my friends call me. He takes Gabi by the hand and gently helps her out of bed. Would you like to take a walk in the sunshine? Ravengro is beautiful this time of year isn't it? Always sunny, with 'ner a cloud in the sky! He smiles warmly.

should you choose to open it, a few quick one liners jump out at you.
19th of Desectry 1422. He came to me again last night. Zod. I told him I didn't want to do it again. The poor girl couldn't take any more. But when I tried to resist he posessed me again. When he is in control, the chains around my soul are worse than the chains I know I will one day feel in prison. This is hell.
13 of Horruary 1427. Now I am chained in this cell, just as I always knew I would be. I can only hope and pray for death. But whenever I pray, and picture Lady Desna before my her face twists and contorts into his face. Zod. He says I am his now. Perhapse I am. I wish for death, but he says in death I will only be closer to him than ever. What the F&8K is he anyway???
27 Terroruary 1428. The new archbishop of Lipidstadt payed me a visit. I told him about Zod in my confessions. I asked him for an excorcism. He only told me that being so familiar with a spirit such as Zod was a gift. I am more confused than ever. I have no hope left. All i have are these chains, which nothing can break.
Gilderoy Targedew |
Opening the journal, Gilderoy gasps, then quickly recovers. "We have to cut the chains free. We have to get her loose. The Father wasn't the real problem, I don't think. He keeps talking about someone called Zod, and I'd bet that's the culprit behind his..."issues" we've all heard about."
The young mage begins talking faster as he moves back towards them. "We HAVE to get her loose and fast!"

Nice post Gild. The AP instructs me to be careful about frustrating PCs because this haunt is so insidious. If you despise hints, ignore the spoiler below. Otherwise, the hints are from the AP.
-intimidate
-heal
-aid another (will) 'fight gabi, fight damn you!'
-pray
-positive energy
-protective spells
-i don't know what else

She smiles and uses his to get more than she strictly needs to. "Thank you Zod I'd love to, but you came with me. I wan you near I get another spasm." She saysleaning against him heavily. "So Zod why don't you tellme more about yourself to distract me from my pain."

Talon holds the siphon out and there is a sucking spiritual wind. The chains rattle and there is a moaning. The siphon is full and Talon caps the plug. But the chains remain.
Gabi get's +4 to her next will save. Nice work, dwarf.

Zod: Indeed I will. Come then. Let us walk in the light.
Zod takes you into the streets of a Ravengro you do not recognize. Children here wear colorful cloths and the clouds do not appear in the sky. Folks tip their hats and say 'Gday' all the time.
I am something of a traveler you might say, Zod confesses about himself. I find things along the way to help me do what I need to do. But I am more interested in you. Gabi, what is your speciality?
will save number 3: 1d20 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 4 = 26

REAL WORLD.
After the haunt siphon is full something strange happens. The haunt of Father Charlatan appears. He is holding his own neck. He looks at you all with desperation on his face. Then he pulls at the ectoplasmic etherealness of his neck. Pulls hard! And a second person begins to appear. It is inside Father Charlatan, and Father Charlatan seems to be pulling it out of himself. You can presume that this second being is 'Zod'. Though after a few moments Zod get's the upper hand and snaps back into place inside the Haunt of Father Charlatan.
damage to the haunt of Father Charlatan.: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 (+9 is from the haunt siphon)
The chains tighten around Gabi.

My new perception is +5 normal and +6 looking for traps.

Talon runs over and snatches the amulet off of the corpses neck. Maybe this has something to do with this Zod person.
I feel the need to kneel before Zod for some reason. =P

Does anything happen when I grab the necklace? If anything does happen I will ask Gur to smash it. If nothing happens I may ask him to smash it anyway lol.
Edit:Wrong alias sorry.

I'm waiting on the GM to tell me witch one is most appropriate. I would of course like to say the third but I have no idea how I'm being affected.
