To Thran. You are completely aware that a moment ago you were standing in Harrowstone with your new friends and now you are in a Sunny Ravengro with Gabi and the red headed man. Gabi was also aware that one minute she was in Harrowstone and the next waking up in a soft bed. It is entirely up to you guys whether your experiences make you suspicious or whether you guys are completely snowed. If fell like this illusion would be tricking your character you can make a DC15 will save to disbelieve the illusion. If you fail you take 1d6 points of damage. If you succeed, the haunt takes the damage. So far Gabi hasn't made very many saves because she is RPGing as though her character is completely snowed by the illusion. As for what Thran knows: I do believe Gilderoy mentioned the name Zod before you got pummeled by this amulet's curse. And that's lucky because...

As you step out in front of Gabi and the priest, the priest introduces himself. Ah, greetings and welcome, Brother. My name is Zod. What's yours?

"Nobody else touch that damned amulet!" Toni yells.

Orc Fighter(Twohanded Fighter) 6 (HP:69/69; AC:21 T:11; FF:20 ) | ;Init:+1)

Gur will walk up to the amulet and

DMG to unattended object.: 2d4 + 14 ⇒ (3, 2) + 14 = 19

Probably smash the crap out of it.

She turns to follow Zod's sight and smiles "Zod this is Thran we saved him harrowstone just before that ghost put me unconscience. He must not gone with the other when they left. Thran this is Zod he has been nursing me back to health, standing over my bed day and night until I regained cnscienous again."

Dear Sir, aren't you the one who found my amulet? I was so happy to see it when you returned it those weeks ago. He points to Gabi, See? I've taken great care of her just as you instructed. But where are the others of you group? Did they not return with you from Lipidstdt? How did your adventures there go? He appears to be playing off the same story to you that he fed to Gabi. Do you believe it?
Thran will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 a-yup:(

Great pain shoots through your whole body and you crumple in the street.
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
When the pain subsides you rise. Zod stands there smiling at you. Dear Sir, are you okay?

Male Robot Fighter 1; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +0; AC 17, touch 12, flat-footed 15 (+5 armor, +2 Dex) hp 16 (1d10+6)

Real world: Gur smashes the amulet to smithereens. This does great harm to the ghost 1d6 ⇒ 3. The spirit appears momentarily showing great pain. No! it says. Stop! If you kill me you will release Zod on the world again! But how can you trust a ghost??

Orc Fighter(Twohanded Fighter) 6 (HP:69/69; AC:21 T:11; FF:20 ) | ;Init:+1)

"No I won't. Gur brings up his blade. "Come to me spirit. Bring this zod and we will fight him together. I will give you the peace you deserve."

Father Charlatan's ghost looks at gur, then reaches to it's own neck again. He pulls at his own spiritual essence letting out a great cry. And then, in his spiritual hands he holds an impish creature, sprung from his own spiritual flesh. He holds this imp out like a cultist holding out a baby for sacrifice. This is Zod. Zod squirms in the priests' hands.

For timing, Gur may strike after we see what Thran and Gabi decide to do. After their next will save.

Gah the pain! I'm confused, so your not Zod? I remember thinking someone named Zod was evil. I picked up an amulet...and gave it to you?

Male Robot Fighter 1; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +0; AC 17, touch 12, flat-footed 15 (+5 armor, +2 Dex) hp 16 (1d10+6)

Talon pops the cork on Haunt Siphon #3. The impish creature screams and is sucked inside.

Tran and Gabi see Zod's face change from a nice looking priest to a terrible be-deviled imp. It claws desperately at Gabi, biting and chewing.

Then the two of you wake up in Harrowstone surrounded by your friends. The ghostly chains are gone. Talon stands there with a glowing hauntsipon. Gur stands there with his Sythe raised. And the ghost of father Charalatan is sitting next to you with a look of exhaustion on his face...

END HAUNT ENCOUNTER.

Nicely played everyone. I'm assuming you guys might have a question or two for Father Charalatan? Or do you just want to have gur cut his head off?

Edit: took a while writing this (read got distracted in the middle) assuming it happen just before Zod was trapped.

Gabbi drops Zod's hand and takes a step away "He is Zod he told me so." turning to look Zod in the eyes she says more earnestly "Tell me what this man says isn't true. You don't look like a demon but they can be tricky."

Male Robot Fighter 1; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +0; AC 17, touch 12, flat-footed 15 (+5 armor, +2 Dex) hp 16 (1d10+6)

Father Charlatan looks at Talon's haunt siphon. (unless he gave it to Gabi). That will not contain him. I've already tried that. I tried everything. It will only hold him for about 6 hours. But at least now Vesorianna won't have to worry about me for that long. She doesn't have much strength left. Although I felt her strength grow about an hour ago. Did something happen to the Piper of Illmarsh?

Male Dwarf: AC 17 | frt +7 | ref +6 | will +3 (+2 poison/fear/spells) | CMD 20 (24) | HP 44/49(45) Ranger (guide)/4

Talon will give the two haunt siphons of Zod to Gabi. "There you go lass. Don't spend them all in one place." Turning to the ghost with a frown, "Ay, we may have chopped him up a bit. Is he going to come back too?"

Male Robot Fighter 1; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +0; AC 17, touch 12, flat-footed 15 (+5 armor, +2 Dex) hp 16 (1d10+6)

Father Charlatan. No, if the Piper is in a haunt siphon he won't be going anywhere. You should give it to Vessoriana. You will find her downstairs. She is the wife of Warden Hawkrin. Since the warden's spirit was stolen from this place a few months ago she has been the spirit holding the prisoners from escaping. But she is growing weaker. But with the Piper's spirit trapped in that thing, she should have no trouble with him. Zod on the other hand, is a different story. He is not part of the problems here at Harrowstone. He is something entirely different. And much much worse. I sinserely hope you get away from that haunt sipohon before he frees himself.

Gabbi do you need healing?

Female -- HP 7/7 -- AC:11 / T:11 / FF:10 -- CMD 10 -- F:1 / R:1 / W1 -- Per +1 Human Wizard Necromancer (Undead) 4

Yes but I'll need to look back to see how much.

"Father can you lend your strength to Vessorina until Zod returns? And is Zod undead or a demon or both?" Gabbi asks.

If Zod is undead I may be able to control him myself.

Male Robot Fighter 1; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +0; AC 17, touch 12, flat-footed 15 (+5 armor, +2 Dex) hp 16 (1d10+6)

Father Charlatan answers Talon and Gabi. Sir Dwarf, as you suspect, if I could have bound Zod myself I would have done so 30 years ago when he first forced his way into my psyce and possessed me. As for Vesoriana, I will do my level best. As soon as I offer my strength to her it will be the last time I can manifest on this plane. As for Zod I know of only two things that might tell you how to stop him. He never let me do either. The first is to consult with a strange women in Ravengro named Fyuria. But be careful. She is very very powerful and something of a trickster. The second person is Professor Petros Lorrimor. He had a powerful spirit planchette that he offered to use to help me. But as I said before, Zod never allowed us to undertake the seance.

Male Robot Fighter 1; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +0; AC 17, touch 12, flat-footed 15 (+5 armor, +2 Dex) hp 16 (1d10+6)

To Gabi. And to answer your question my dear. He is a Demon. A particularly nasty version.

Male Dwarf: AC 17 | frt +7 | ref +6 | will +3 (+2 poison/fear/spells) | CMD 20 (24) | HP 44/49(45) Ranger (guide)/4

Male Robot Fighter 1; Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +0; AC 17, touch 12, flat-footed 15 (+5 armor, +2 Dex) hp 16 (1d10+6)

Father Charlatan looks at Gabi. He extends a long transparent finger. She knows. Then he closes his eyes. Vesorianna! I am ready. The ghost begins to fade. Before he winks out he looks at Talon and Antoni. One last thing. Find the blades. The guards fought over how to torture us inmates. The Warden made them put their blades in the Armory. It's on the same floor as Vesorianna's room. Find the blades. Then he is gone. Why do ghosts always fade just before they tell you anything truly meaningful???

Haha, not really, you got a 10. At this point Thran knows that the basement (the U areas) are where the fire took place and most of the worst prisoners were kept and died. There is an elevator shaft that leads down there you can see it on the map. The S areas is where Vesorriana was kept when she arrived to find her husband that fateful night, and Thran can guess that the Armory is also on the S level where the guards had their quarters.

Yes, you will meet Zod again. Hopefully LATER, not sooner! But right now I gathered you wish to go to the armory, correct?

You explore for 2 hours without too much incident until you make your way to S15. This is a chapel/courtroom. It doubled as a place of worship and where the prisoners would receive their final sentences: death on the balcony by Scythe, or eternal imprisonment (light sentence upstairs, heavy sentence down the shaft!)

Gur's Scythe buzzes with energy in this room.

Besides the poduim/alter which you cannot see behind, the door to Area S16 is engraved with the word "Armory"

What do you do?
