She Who Waits |
With an answering scream, She Who Waits cries, "I shall return this one to the natural state of things," and calls her glottal hex, turning it seamlessly into a cackle.

Vordrek and Gunnar tend to the dwarf's wounds while, thanks to Rolando's action, Torean wounds the warrior pretty badly, almost sending her to the grave. Rolando steps boldly forward and slices the cultist in front of him, while Eladrian fires in the fleeing man's back. The fleeing cultist falls with a loud *thud* and bleeds profusely. She Who Waits curses the warrior fighting with her dwarven friend I guess.
The remaining opponents try to hit the foes before them but, despite the witch's hexe, the female warrior manages to hit Torean nevertheless. 11 damages

Standard: Aid Another on Torean's attack on the leader, vs AC 10, fighting defensively: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 9 - 4 = 18
Rolando's AC = 24 for one round
So Torean, that's a +2 to your attack. You can also burn Moment of Greatness for an additional +1 on top of the normal flagbearer morale bonus (which I recommend)
Same buffs still up, but when it comes around to my turn again I'm going to end the song whether the fight ends or not. I'm getting kind of low and need to conserve rounds.
Flagbearer: +1 morale to attacks, weapon damage, saves vs fear or charm
Weapon song: +1 flaming weapons for all mundane weapons, or flaming and frost for all weapons that are already magical
Spirit Totem: Negative energy attack once during your turn if adjacent to living enemy. Attack = BAB + 3, damage = 1d4 + 3
Superstition: +3 morale bonus vs spells, SLAs, SUs
Moment of Greatness (except Rolando): You can one time, as a non action, double a morale bonus before rolling. This works on flagbearer, superstition, or any other morales.

Between the arrow and axe from Eladrian and Torean helped by Rolando, they slay the last cultist standing and the leader spits blood on the ground, raising her heavy pick axe. But at the same moment, a black ray of necrotic energy hits her right in the face and she falls to the ground, lying still.
Combat Over! Well fought!
As you search the dead bodies, you see that the female fighter had + heavy pick axe and a +1 full plate. All three of them carry the same note that found on the dead cleric of Zyphus earlier.
Take your time to heal up before you continue to explore.

Torean Spellbane |
Torean wipes the sweat from his brow from a hard fought victory. He kneels at the foot of the vanquished woman to gives thanks to Torag for his might.
Rising, he searches the woman's body taking up the magical pickaxe. "Seems like this Fel is stirring up lots of trouble. We need to find out where they came from, right? That's how we'll get down into the dig site to find Wuthers." He takes out a healing wand to close his wounds.

Eladrian |
Eladrian goes through and collects the arrows that he can, gently closing the dead warriors eyes and saying a prayer for them as he moves through. This bit of observance does not, however, keep him from searching through the pockets of the dead for anything useful. Returning to the group, he holds out the notes that they were all carrying. "I agree Torean.. and the sooner the better. Would someone mind helping me with this wand please?" He asks the casters in the party.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Good enough. Only one point down.
Rolando Pascal |
Not much Gunnar can do here right now as he can't attack adjacent. I'll cast CLW on Torean 1d8+1
Your statblock says you have a battleaxe. Can't you drop your hammer, draw your axe, and hit? +1 flaming axe with power attack will do a good amount of damage. If you don't want that, do you want the pick? If no one wants/can use it Rolando will hold onto it. I also have two extra spring-loaded wrist sheaths with cold iron daggers in them, so if anyone wants one they can borrow it.

Of course, Rolando says, using the offered wand on Eladrian. We should continue--who knows how many of these lunatics still wander the halls...
She Who Waits |
"Indeed," says the witch with a laugh. "Besides, I'd love to see what their leader looks like with fate turned against her."
Rolando Pascal |
Are the doors north of us the exit? If so we should escort the magistrate outside, then go south of our current position to enter the main hall. Once in the main hall we will go immediately west to check out those rooms. Everyone good with that? Unseen Servant will open all doors.

Torean helps Roland and anyone else with healing wands to reverse some of the damage done by the cultists. "Lead on, Rolando. Let's find the entrance to this dig."
Didn't we come from the main hall?

GM Zinou |
The doors indeed lead to an exit but the magistrate sticks with Rolando. "No way! Did you see those groups coming from everywhere? I am sure they came from outside the opera as well! The most secured place is within your group. Also what kind of bodyguards are you to release the man your protect like this?"
He'll do what he can to stay with you no matter what until the threat is over.
Rolando Pascal |
Well, I said I'd bring you to safety, and here lies the exit. But if you feel more comfortable remaining with us as we combat these undead horrors, please, accompany us.
Rolando gestures to Eladrian, pointing at the next door to search.
I don't want to go in first, but I moved Rolando on the map to indicate which door I think we should enter next. After we go in there and examine the small rooms, we can come back to my current position and keep exploring counter-clockwise. Good?
Eladrian |

As you decide to move forward and to inspect others rooms, you get back in the main floor.

As you stand there in awe and disgust, you see two human zombies among the carnage rising but struggling to stand up. Soon, a bugbear zombie join them and look over to where you stand. As you prepare yourself to battle, you hear a shriek on your left and see a dinosaur zombie rushing towards you!
