The captain is through the door at this point. He's only a round ahead of you. If you Perdue you must move the pirates and priests away from the door and go through said door. And Hal that is perfectly fine. If you would like you can roll a standing perception just in case the group does not catch the Pirate.

Female Human Brawler1 ;Init +4; Perception +6;Martial flexibility 4/4

would that require a acrobatics or a overrun check?

Acrobatics would work since they are compliant. It's more they just are taking up space as opposed to resisting.

-Posted with Wayfinder

Male Human (Rashemi) Occultist 3

My acrobatics from before (still so far unused) was a 20, so I'll plan to still do just that, thanks.

Also, acrobatics should work just fine against non-compliant foes as well, since it encompasses what Tumble used to be.

male human 1 crossblooded sorcerer

I'm aware but it would not normally allow you to move said target and as stated its more there just isn't a space in front of the door than anything else. But anyways you may be there if you like and can try to open the door. Just roll a disable device ( which may be difficult to do quickly enough ) , Sunderland the door, or roll a strength check to break it open.

Keila runs after the Pirate Captain, trying to weave through the priests and pirates in front of the door.
acrobatics : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

double move after the Pirate Captain

Ok Keila and Semban. To speed the chase up we are going to do a series of rolls to kind of speed this part up since I don't want this part which is only two characters taking too long. If nadab would like he can get one spell off before you guys are out of sight.

I would like a strength check from both of you to knock the door down. 3 acrobatics checks (including the one you both made already), one constitution check, and a attack roll for either lethal or nonlethal depending on if you want to capture or kill.

Halrion I have not forgotten about you and everyone else is looking after the prisoners.

Everyone else, you can choose to try to escort your prisoners through a pirate city to the ship, interrogate them here for info and run the risk of someone else discovering what happened here by walking in, let them go with a pirates honor that they will not seek retribution, or slay them here. If you can think of other options feel free. Those are just some suggestions.

Male Human (Rashemi) Occultist 3

In lieu of a strength check I'm going to bash the door.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8, Damage: 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 6, 2) + 7 = 16
Acrobatics 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25, Acrobatics 3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Constitution: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18, Damage: 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 1, 1) + 7 = 11.

Lethal, by the way. Semban's not real big on mercy sometimes. Also, it's not as though we have any reason to believe he has useful information for us.

male human 1 crossblooded sorcerer

After busting down the door you both rush through to see one of the stain glass windows in the next room broken out. You proceed to deftly maneuver up the wall and out, only to see the Pirate at the bottom of the wall outside. As he runs through the streets you jump down with Semban gaining and Keila not far behind. Semban gets within reach and swings. Slashing the man across the back. The pirate staggers from the blow and Keila rushs up and does a flying knee to the base of the man's skull, knocking him out and most likely crippling him.

you can drag him back and make short work of him or kill and leave him here. While still breathing he is crippled, most likely for life. A third option would be to leave him crippled in a place where he most certainly couldn't survive.

You can pilfer the temple and the remaining prisoners if you like. I'm going to wait on your group decision before moving forward.

im up for pilfering. If she's a goddess of pirating, she shouldn't begrudge her own getting pillaged every once and a while.

Xanos will just make sure the kid is breathing. He should be able to do a version of cpr.

Keila is also up for pilfering (she was a bandid once after all :) ). Killing the captured pirates and priest would be ok with her(she would just demand to kill those she took down herself( an honor thing)), but she would also be ok with letting them go(the boy survived, so there is no need for any more killing)

male human 1 crossblooded sorcerer

Just keep in mind everyone that it is not the typical law around here that keeps order. It is fear of an enemy's alliances, the pirates code, and a common love of "the life". Things like finding out what happened usually are handled by an appointed agent of the most influential Pirate at the time (which is a title rarely held for long).

Bind their hands to their feet, Captain Ventra ordered the remaining crew. I wish to find out what they might know about our target. If they don't answer how I'd like, we'll sacrifice them to their beloved goddess.

male human 1 crossblooded sorcerer

Semban and Keila need to roll stealth checks to get back quietly and avoiding other pirates notice.

After Ventra let's out the command you all go to work. Binding their hands to their feet, putting the crossbar which locks the front doors, and patching wounds that would prove fatal (at least untill you have gotten what you came for). The head priest has a stoic look on his face, unchanging even when you begin to patch his wounds ( which is a very painful process considering their severity). Looking outward his gaze seems to be looking past anyone in front of him, almost oblivious to the world around.

Mr. Macintyre, drown the head priest, send him to his goddess. I'll start questioning the pirates first... Captain Ventra walks toward the most senior of the pirates, and begins to question him. Who is your Captain, what was your course, and do you know who we are?

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

A drunken slew of pirates shambles across you guys singing merry songs of plunder. Seeing Keila they walk your way. Semban manages to duck into an ally with your quarry. Mistaking you for a prostitute one approaches you and says "How much ye cost? I don't have much in the way of coin but I promise ye I make up for it in other ways . Hehe". He then crudely gestures to his crotch and his friends burst into laughter.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Semban, unless there is something else you wanted to accomplish in said ally, everyone is back. And as far as the head priest goes, you can continue said action, but Hal consulted the priests on the translation of the phrase the old man was babbeling. If that isn't a concern we can certainly continue with drowning.

The priest looks into your eyes. The state is cold, but accepting. He offers no resistance as you bring him to the saucer. He even goes so far as to plunge his own head and takes large gasps of water. His body doesn't even twitch as death greets him.

The pirate watches as the priest dies. The elderly man looks at you and with a grim determination and says "He is the one who ran out the door, but he is long gone by now. And ye thinkin you can get away with this, but I have been in this life long enough to know my time should of ended long ago. Also long enough to know ye will be gettin your commins for this slight."

Directly after his statement he sees his captain being dragged in by Keila. His tune while not changed is accompanied by a slight tune of uneasiness. "Ok....maybe you will get away with this, but I don't be knowin nothin bout Rasteed!". His crew mates look at him with incredulousness as you have not mentioned your quarries name .

Yet you know his name without being prompted... Curious. Captain Ventra says very sarcastically as he draws a vial of Alchemist's Fire. Tell me what you know, and I promise I will not torture you to death...

How's the kid doing at this point? I'm thinking this might not be the most child-friendly environment at the moment, and if he's conscious at all, I might just recommend that we take him back to the ship, where he's at least marginally more safe. And not, y'know, hanging around the guys who just tried to murder him. Or witnessing their torture and execution, or whatever.

male human 1 crossblooded sorcerer

the child is stable but unconscious. He will likely remain so for the night, short of something like salts or magic of some sort to wake him.

The old man is starting to show his true craven nature. With a tremble, he begins to tell you of his experience with Rasteed. As he begins one of the other pirates slips his bonds and attempts to stab the elderly man in the throat with a shiv. I would like you to roll a reflex to attempt to stop the man. Also roll an attack, either lethal or non lethal with coup de grace damage. P.s. I did roll your perceptions to notice both the shiv earlier and for his escape.

Total damage = 13 (4 x 2 + 5) Lethal

Captain Ventra attempts to remove the shiv wielding pirate from existence, by undercutting his left armpit to rip through some major arteries.

male human 1 crossblooded sorcerer

Keila snaps to action, dazing the pirate and breaking his nose. Ventra follows up to make sure there are no more interruptions.

Blood now spurting on to the old man's face from his companion he starts to babble out information. Most of it is things you already know, but a few keen points the man brings up catch your attention. Rasteed has been stranded by his crew, only to make it back with ease. The people and creatures he deals with seem to pay him some sort of reverence. As if he there would be some sort of inevitable fate would befall any who would cross him.
