On the door, I am agreeing, but I cannot do anything about that.

The room seems to be devoid of creatures, as a search turns up nothing but metal debris. The door is a great metal circle that blends almost seamlessly into the metal wall around it. There does not seem to be any way of opening it.
As you stand, wondering what to do next, Theodric and Kit both hear a scraping noise, as though stone were being drawn across metal.

From behind you comes a high-pitched scream, like that of a wild animal except raised several octaves. As the scraping of metal on stone alerted you, you are not completely surprised by the ambush, however.
Rising from the pile of debris is a tiny, grey, bat-eared humanoid with a mouth full of needle-like sharp teeth. It has orange glowing eyes and it screams, "Attack the bigguns! Kill! Kill!"
From the corridors behind you come three more of the creatures, brandishing sword-like shards of metal.
The jinkins leap to the attack, one attacking Anvil, another attacking Fuzzles, and the leader engaging Theo. Their blades bite deeply into each victim. Theo and Anvil each take 4 points of damage, while Fuzzles takes 3.

Anvil casts shocking grasp, sending a current through his attacker. The gremlin shrieks with a high-pitched sound that is not unlike nails on a chalkboard and smokes slightly, but remains standing.
In the same instant, kit slashes at the jinkin and disembowls it.
Theodric slashes with his sword but connects only with stone. Meanwhile, Pier strains himself trying to think what he might know about these creatures, but comes up empty-handed. He takes a swing, but the agile gremlin easily dodges the blow.
Cheshire moves to flank Fuzzles' foe, but still manages to miss his target. Fuzzles, however, clamps his jaws down upon the pest, nearly severing it's arm!
Druenor casts bless, benefitting the entire party.
All three enemies attack with short sword and bite. The sword attacks hit their targets, and Pier is bitten, but the effect is minimal now that they no longer have the advantage. Theo and Fuzzles each take 1 damage; Pier tkaes 3 points.

Ghosting Anvil
Unable to reach a foe, Anvil delays.
Ghosting Kit
Kit moves to confront the foe menacing Theo, slashing wildly. The attack catches the creature by surprise and it staggers, but does not fall. However, in the next second, Theo moves into flanking position with Druenor and eliminates the creature with a deep slash to it's midsection. It falls in a pool of green blood.

Ghosting Cheshire and Fuzzles

Pire sighs from the healing washing over him, before returning to the matter at hand. "Ah, thanks for that. Anyway, he used Dimension Door to get out of here, so he can't have gotten far. I suggest we keep looking for him. Don't want him stalking us as we explore the area, after all."

Druneor Hammerstriker |

Aye, fun enough. Druneor says with a grin, now can anyone open that door. indicating the door.

Cheshire Silvanshee |

Cheshire looks around as combat ends. "I think Fuzzles took a hit or two."

Cheshire Silvanshee |

yeah my comment was intended as an in character response prior to the healing but I guess the moment had passed.

I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas, Joyous Yule, or what-have-you and that your 2015 is prosperous and wonderful. Shall we continue, then?
The bodies of the fallen jinkins are sparsely equipped, just scraps of leather that serve as weapon belts and sharpened shards of metal that they were using as swords.
The door looks quite sturdy and solid. It seems unlikely that anyone can open it with brute force.

No value in the scrap.
Kit studies the door for a moment, only to quickly realize that this is a most unconventional and uncooperative portal. There is no apparent lock, nor handle.

Pire leans back, and places a hand on his chin, surveying the door. "A dead end, or...?" He whips out a small, red-leather book, glancing between it and the door, examining it closely for anything he might have missed.

A fairly spacious cavern where several different passageways converge on a narrow ledge overlooking a rubble-filled cavern. The far wall is made of a smooth, dark metal. A single circular door, tightly closed, sits on the metal wall just above the upper level of the rubble.

Cheshire Silvanshee |

Cheshire looks up from the metal trash and looks at the situation he asks Fuzzles as if the cat could catch him up, "Did they try pushing?"

Druneor Hammerstriker |

Druneor looks over at Cheshire Try pushing he says, it looks solid from here. he walks over and leans on the door, but not really putting his back into it.

Just wanted to make sure ;) I once had a rogue in our party try to pick a lock go through the whole schpeil and it was several minutes the DM rather smugly pointed out no one tried the door. You just asked if there WAS a lock. Yes the WAS a lock but its open. We were ready to kill him.
