"Damn, and before we could get anything out of him other than what he told Ameiko." Erodel replies, while shaking his head.
Polishing off the last of his flagon, Erodel sets it to the side and flips the visor back down. "So what do we know of Thistletop, besides it's full of goblins?"
Knowledge Local?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

You know that Thistletop itself is a curiously round island about 60 feet off shore, connected to the mainland by a rope bridge. The island itself has an unusual genesis—it was in fact once the head of a sentinel statue that stood upon the ridge of land called the Rasp before the nation of Bakrakhan became the Varisian Gulf. The statue itself has long since crumbled and become overgrown by the Nettlewood, but the head escaped such obscurement by landing in the surf. The magical nature of
the statue’s construction drasticaly slowed the process of erosion on the head’s features, and when the sun hits the western cliff of the isle just right, one can just make out a shadow of the statue’s face.

Just a note that Levitate only affects one person if you were planning to use it for the whole party you would need five scrolls if available.
School transmutation; Level sorcerer/wizard 2
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, F (a leather loop or golden wire bent into a cup shape)
Range personal or close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target you or one willing creature or one object (total weight up to 100 lbs./level)
Duration 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no
Levitate allows you to move yourself, another creature, or an object up and down as you wish. A creature must be willing to be levitated, and an object must be unattended or possessed by a willing creature. You can mentally direct the recipient to move up or down as much as 20 feet each round; doing so is a move action. You cannot move the recipient horizontally, but the recipient could clamber along the face of a cliff, for example, or push against a ceiling to move laterally (generally at half its base land speed).
A levitating creature that attacks with a melee or ranged weapon finds itself increasingly unstable; the first attack has a –1 penalty on attack rolls, the second –2, and so on, to a maximum penalty of –5. A full round spent stabilizing allows the creature to begin again at –1.

Pik |

Pik barely looks to be paying attention to the discussion, but cuts in, Perhaps just some rope. There's no need to use magic to solve every little problem.

"So, rope, and a boat. We have those." Erodel replies, counting them out on his mailed fingers. "All we need now is to kill those goblins, and deal with this Nualia and her mercenaries." pointing to the journal.
Going through the posts here in a bit.. and did anyone ever find out what that lady with the ransuer statue and book was all about??

Manx Serimus |

[ooc]Only need one levitated person, with a rope...[/dice]
The wizard looks up from the journal to rest his gaze on Pik. "I can see you suggesting a lumberjack need not cut down trees for lumber."
Manx raises his mead to his lips while he looks about the group, his eyes traveling from the warrior decked out in heavy plate, to the erstwhile, well he really hadn't quite pegged Raddie's occupation, maybe adventuring taxidermist?
His eyes settled on Elransil, probably the most graceful of the group, "Unless sir wisdom can climb cliffs, I think this task would fall to you, how are you with knots?"

Elransil Farseer |

The ranger looks back and forth between the two spellscasters, then seems to decide he doesn't know enough about the subject to even interject.
"I don't really know anything about knots. I haven't had too many occasions to tie them. Same goes with climbing, really. I can get up a knotted rope easily enough. I suppose we could buy some extras before heading over to the island."
Elransil is untrained in Climb, so he only has a +1 to the skill.

Sweet mother of pearl, its a holiday weekend! go to sleep folks! Climbing gear is 80gp for +2 to climb.
Funny enough, Erodel actually has a higher climb, due to the acp and climb as a class skill, even in full plate (only because Elransil doesn't have a rank in climb!) : Erodel will have +1 ranks +3 str + 3 Class bonus = 7, -4 ACP so +3 bonus
"I'm not too bad with climbing myself..." Erodel leaning back slowly in his chair. As it groans under the weight, Erodel looks around; trying to get an angle to see out into the inn looking for a sign of Ameiko, or the halfling woman who sent them on their journey in the morning.

![]() |

Remaining questions.. (at least Erodel has..)1: Where is Ameiko.. and how is she holding up? (Last thing we need is our generous hostess committing suicide!) 2: What was with the creepy lady with the ranseur and the book doing in a smuggler tunnel? 3: How do we plan to get into the goblin fortress? (Although I doubt anyone has any decent recon, except for the recently departed Tsuto)
Although the second may be answered by the good father after they are finished purifying the altar

Manx Serimus |

Let's see about getting some gear then.
Manx finishes off his mug 'mead and tosses a couple of gold on the table to cover the meal.
Manx tips his hat at the others, until morning then.
Manx will head out and look to purchase; a waterproof bag, climber's kit, (2) levitate scrolls, and spell copying materials.

![]() |

"Don't forget about Nualia and her mercenaries.." Erodel adds before pushing himself away from the table.
"I plan to make a few purchases myself before this night is through..." As he heads out towards the door, stopping in the entrance way. "Not before checking on our gracious host however." turning back towards the others seated at the table, Erodel beckons them forward. "I have no idea how she is handling this, so any help would be welcome."
If have hands aboard!!
Then Erodel will hunt down the halfling helper woman, and ask her how Ameiko is holding up... or just go and knock on her door.

Elransil Farseer |

Elransil will go with Erodel, tracking down the halfing woman first to get an idea of how Ameiko is doing.
Once they find the halfing, Elransil will thank her.
"Your quick thinking saved at least one life in the warehouse, the life of someone my family holds very dear. Thank you for that."
Once she responds, he or Erodel will ask how Ameiko is doing.

Pik |

So, shall we head to see these goblins? I suggest during the day as they'll be able to see us easier than we can see them at night. He hefts his small sack. I'm ready to go. Anyone else?
Pik will wait for any more shopping to be done and then head down to the boat with the others.
