@Elransil - You notice a horribly deformed humanoid, hairless and emaciated, lurch out of the darkness of the cavern towards your group. Its unnaturally long arms end in three-fingered talons, and its legs bend like those of a dog. A writhing network of bulging veins form dark blue patterns across its pallid skin. But worst of all is its face—its nose is little more than a pair of slits, and its eyes are bulging and red. The lower jaw splits in half at the chin into two wretched arms that end in tiny three-fingered hands to either side an open gullet with a lolling tongue. It gives a loud growl of anger when it realizes you've seen and keeps advancing on your group.

You may roll initiative now.

"Familiarity does not mean available for immediate use." Manx grumbles as Pik rudely turns and walks down the tunnel.

Shrugging his shoulders, he returns the bolts to his quiver and follows alongside Elransil.

Since pretty much any time you see ammo as a target of a spell, it is listed as affecting 50 ammo, the rules thus equate 50 ammo as 1 object. We have always played that light would effect 50 ammo as well. If the GM is holding to a different interpretation, then so be it.

You know this thing is an aberration called a Sinspawn. Sinspawn are a mockery of the flesh, the shape of humanity warped

familiar shape into one of horror and ruin. You know it can infect someone with feeling of wrath and anger by biting them.

The Sinspawn fails to get through Erodel's defences and is then brought down by the combined efforts of the group and its head is soon rolling across the floor of the cavern.

Male Half-Elf Ranger 2

Elransil takes a closer look at the creature as he retrieves his arrows.

"That is a disgusting sight."

The ranger takes a quick look at the ground for any sign of tracks that might show if there are more of these creatures around or if other people have come through lately.

It appears the secret feature of Evil Eye is making opponents use their 20's up on it. Also, that has to easily be the most rolls in a fight I've ever seen Evil Eye make a difference on.

Pik frowns down at the creature. A Sinspawn you called it? I wonder what it was doing down here.

Shadow Lodge

Kicking the spawn's head across the hall, "Sharp claws too." Erodel mutters. Sheathing his sword and touching a hand to the wound, holds it up to the shield to reveal the blood shining on his gauntlet.

Approaching Pik, Erodel asks: "You have any more of that... healing magic?"

Oh yea, no Kidding Pik! Need to let those GM Dice cool down... or throw a misfortune hex on there!! Erodel is now evil eye's biggest fan!

And best part is... no one will ever know.....

Nodding, "Better her than me, she has enough to worry about today. Let's get this exploring over with...." As he turns back to the deeper into the tunnel.

The tunnel does still go on?

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Following the left wall of the tunnel you entered through, you find that it continues on after the cavern for about another 15 ft before a smaller tunnel branches off to the right. The tunnel you are in continues straight ahead. You do no see or hear anything down either tunnel and both appear equally dark.

Male Half-Elf Ranger 2

"We'll have to check both paths, so which do you all want to go down first?" the half-elf whispers.

Shadow Lodge

"Either way is good to me..." Erodel responds, shifting uneasily looking from path to path.

The ranger nods.

"Sounds good to me," Elransil says as he tries to see what awaits us. "It doesn't seem that dangerous."

Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12

Male Human (Varisian) Wizard 2

"Agreed."Manx looks back up the way they had come, "at least we know why they barred the door from the other side..."

Manx turns and follows the others intothe side passage.

About 40 feet into the right hand tunnel, you come to what was once a thick stone wall. There is a 5 by 5 hole in the wall and looking through it, you see what was probably the remains of the wall strewn about the floor of what appears to be an empty room.

An investigation of the rubble reveals that most of it seems to have consisted of broken urns and other pottery containers that once held food stores, long since crumbled to dust. The room is about 20 ft long by 10 ft wide and there is a door on the left side of the wall.

You do not hear any noise coming from the other side of the unlocked door, so assuming you open and go through it:

The hallway you enter goes 15 ft north, then takes a left angle turn to go west for another 30 ft before taking a right angle turn to head north again. After 5 ft there is a side-tunnel to your right stretching off into the darkness. The tunnel that you are in continues on to the north.

@Elransil

Spoiler:
With your lowlight vision, you think you see the outline of a figure standing straight ahead, about 40 ft.

Before I forget again, you hit level 2 after the Sinspawn fight. Go ahead and level your characters. You can either take average for hp or roll for it and reroll if you get a 1.

Male Half-Elf Ranger 2

The ranger leans forward slightly, squinting his eyes as he tries to peer ahead in the darkness after picking up his arrows from the sinspawn fight.

"I think I see someone," he says softly, then speaks up so his voice carries down the tunnel. "Show yourself! Are you friend or foe?"

Durable arrows are the best item in the game, bar none

There is no reply and the figure remains strangely still, like a statue...

Male Half-Elf Ranger 2

The ranger stares harder, trying to make out any useful details.

Perception 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23

"It doesn't seem to be moving. Maybe it's a carving or statue of some sort ... Erodel, do you want to get a little closer so I can see it better? It's about 40 feet in front of us, straight ahead."

Elransil - The figure is definately humanoid in shape, and you think you catch a gleam of metal from a weapon in its hand.

Male Half-Elf Ranger 2

"Be careful, I can see something metal for sure in its hands."

As they continue down the hallway, Pik looks thoughtful. Just before they open the door he stops Erodel with a hand on his shoulder. Perhaps this will help your wounds. It should at least stop the bleeding until we get back to town.

Healing Hex: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

As the healing washes over him, Erodel gives a quick nod of thanks before slowly approaching the figure.

Move 20 ft closer, sword and shield at the ready!

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

The figure turns out to be a red marble statue of a strikingly beautiful but, at the same time, monstrously enraged human woman stands in the middle of this room, her stony expression twisted in fury. The woman wears flowing robes, and her long hair is held back from her face by an intricate headdress of hooks and blades. In her left hand she carries a large book, the face of which is inscribed with a seven-pointed star. Her right hand holds a glittering metal and ivory ranseur. The ranseur appears to be of exceptional masterwork quality.

Once you move up you also see more of the room which appears to have been some sort of antechamber that is about 20 by 30 ft. There is yet another hole in the wall to your left, most likely leading into the same tunnel you were in moments ago and there is a door straight ahead of you and long hallway off to the right.

The masterwork ranseur can be removed with a little tugging.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

Walking into the room, and taking the time to circle around the statue, Erodel stands at the entrance to the hallway. "Seems... a little much for just smuggler tunnels." He muses aloud.

Male Human (Varisian) Wizard 2

Manx walks around, looking for any markings or engravings in the room.

"that broken wall we went through was probably from someone stumbling into this place. It looks pretty old, I wonder if it predates Sandpoint?"

Radoslav will move up and attempt to listen at the door.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Radoslav hears nothing.

Male Half-Elf Ranger 2

Elransil stares at the statue.

"Well, I feel a little silly for giving it orders. But I wonder just how old this thing is?"

Knowledge(nature) for what the statue is made out of 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Knowledge(local) for how this might fit into Sandpoint's history 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Eventually, the ranger notices Radoslav by the door and goes to help him if possible.

Perception 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

@Elransil - It is made of red marble. You don't recognize the woman that the statue depicts. You think you hear voices from the other side of the door.

Male Half-Elf Ranger 2

Very quietly, the ranger whispers to the others: "I hear voices on the other side of the door. I can't make out what they are saying."

He stands up and readies his bow, waiting to see if the others want to proceed inward.

Sorry about the statue question. I was in a hurry for work and didn't notice you already had given me the answer.

Not a problem. And also if it was missed, the masterwork ransuer is removable from the statue with a little effort.

Shadow Lodge

Male Human

With a nod towards Elransil, Erodel readies to open the door and charge through!
