Yzera nods to Nemenia:
Lets see what is outside. We all saw the gatehouse when we came in. As I recall, there was a tall tower in the rear and some smaller towers on the wall. I think I remember dogs as well, we will have to watch out for them.

With that, Yzera moves to the front door and listens to see whether she can hear anything outside. If she hears nothing, she will quietly open it and see if anyone is in the courtyard.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Unfortunately she is still enjoying the cookie. Or is it the blood?

When you open the door it is dark and rain. The rain feels welcome to you somehow as if it was sent just for you all.
No one notices you due to the rain. However you do see the glow of torches moving back and forth on the wall.


How high up is the wall?

Fitz points and says, "We have longbows, and the torches give them away.... Is anyone good enough to guarantee a kill shot?"

Lauren thought for a bit, but shook her head. "Not really. Even if there was, they'd know as soon as we hit any of them. The rain will make it easier to get to another door out here, though."

As you guys look around you see a torch lit tower in the near distance.

Yzera shakes her head at Fitz's question:
I am good with a bow, but could not guaranty such a fine shot. And even if we hit one, we do not know whether there are more than one, or when the next guard will arrive.

Lets have one or two of us wait here and watch to count the guard rotations and patrol schedules while the rest wait inside. Then, once we know how to avoid the patrols, we move to the back to that tower. Looks like the most likely place the warden, and Trok's arm, are to be found.

"I'll wait here and watch the guard's patrols," Breeze offers, certainly not trusting any of the others with such an important job.

Here is the map of what can be seen. Some of it would require a little recognizance, but with the rain, it sounds like we can do it.

Tower is in the southern part of the map. Gatehouse is north. Kennel with the dogs is in the northeast.

Well as you watch you come to realize that most of the remaining guards most likely patrol the walls. Those that aren't in Blackerly's poker game in the greenhouse that is.

Yzera nods her head in agreement, and after counting the timing of the guards, informs the others and then heads off into the dark around the prison to make her way to the tower. She tells the others to follow behind in two guard rotations so that if she encounters something. She will have time to return and inform the others.

Outside of the tower she sees two guards who do not appear to be lax in the I duties despite being in the cold rain. They stand in a circle of log provided by a glowing glass goo above above door.

Once the others are close enough, Lauren initiates the attack, once more attempting to conjure an acidic attack, this time before anybody gets in the way.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Yzera will wait for the others in a place from which she can watch the guards. When the others arrive, she will point out the guards hoping to get an agreement on how to approach them.

The plan was for me and Breeze, and Ilan/Understudy to go and scout and then to report back when it was clear. If we saw guards guarding the tower, then we would have put a halt on it and prepared an organized assault so that we could hopefully take the two guards down without any alarm being raised.

This is effectively what I posted in my last post. If people want to do something else, please post it. Otherwise, I assume that we will go around the other side of the prison so that we are closer, and better concealed from light, so that we can charge and hit hard and fast.

Everyone, please confirm this, or post an alternative post so that we can keep moving forward. I am enjoying this, and would hate for it to bog down and die because people of indecision.

Might be a good idea. Or one of us could pretend to be a guard and get close. I might not be the best choice, being a woman, but one of us could stumble down the path like he or she was drunk. When one of the guards comes to investigate, probably figuring the person just came from the card game we have been hearing about, the rest of us attack from the back.
Yzera points toward the grassy area between room 16 of the prison and the tower, room 21.

Ok, Fitz plays drunk and gets the guards attention. As soon as they leave their post and are distracted, we charge from the side and hit them hard.

Probably need a bluff from Fitz. I will have less posting time over the next few days. DMPC Yzera as necessary.

Fitz ain't bad at that and is conveniently wearing a uniform... And can see better than they can in the night, most likely... So we just assume people are in position and straight roll?
