moonflower 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Duardlara, Cynehelm and Jetro take off to get around the plant known as a moon flower. After 5-10 minutes of careful travel they enter the woods from the far north side and proceed down the path. Ahead of them in the distance Duardlara can make out the shape of the huge plant. Unbeknownst to them though is that this is the second plant that they could not see at first. The Moonflower twitches though indicating that it finally caught your scent and knows you are there!

Good guys up with map updated at the top of the page.

DM Variel: Is the implication that we are unaware that we are actually looking at a different moonflower? Or is it obvious that we have split the party for no gain?

"Jetro, hold! The point was to gauge the threat first, not just start shooting!"

You are not sure if this is a second creature or not. Either way you know this is an evil creature and has noticed you finally. It would be reasonable for Jetro to attack it.

Jetro acts quickly as he lands 2 arrows in rapid succession in the leaving creature. Yet even as the arrows puncture through the barklike skin Jetro notices that they did not penetrate as far as he would have thought. (DR of some type) Also he sees that he sappy blood completely negates any electricity damage that should have happened as well. (resist or electricity)

On the south side of the fight Helgash casts bless on the them emboldening Greta to rush up to the fight. Her quick reflexes allow her to get a jump on the creature and prevent it from using it long reach to attack her as she moves in. Heaving her greatsword with a powerful stroke she critically hits the plant causing a rush of sap to expel from its body. She has no problem getting past the creatures hard bark.

north moonflower 22 damage

You notice Duardlara...One of the moonflowers has a +1 breastplate, a +1 heavy flail, a handy haversack, with 2 feather tokens (bird) and 235 gp lodged inside it. These are the only surviving remains of the victim whose body spawned this moonflower.

Up ahead you see the corner of the building that Syvet mentioned blending into the woods.

Duardlara retrieves the items, storing what will fit inside the haversack and carrying it in her free hand. "Anyone have a preference for a flail or need an upgrade to their breastplate? Both are enchanted - apparently the moonflower consumed the fellow - judging by the shape of the armor, I think it was a man - and this is what's left."

She will take point once the items have been distributed (She has a little interest in the tokens, but everything is really up for grabs.), she will take point once more. "I'll be right back..."

Stealth: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (20) + 30 = 50 Wow.

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 20 = 31

Her intention is to move up to the building without drawing attention to herself from anyone that may be within - or any other creatures in the garden - and have a look inside any available windows or doors. She'll return to report anything of interest - or nothing of interest.

Duardlara thinks better of scouting alone and waves the new fellow forward to join her. Sorry, Manos, habit of thinking I’m THE stealthy option. Better to have someone alongside.

This wooden building lies hidden in the garden’s western jungle. Its two rooms hold dusty piles of old furniture, mounds of moldering herbs, bales of cloth, barrels of fertilizer, clay pots, and trays of dried seeds. The northern room (area A7a) contains a large stone fireplace with a series of iron rungs climbing up its chimney. The chimney leads to area A8. The ceilings in the storehouse are 25 feet tall. In the northern room you see a man wearing red robes searching the room as if looking for something he lost. The southern room holds a strange creature the likes of which you have never seen before. This creature has a pale, froglike appearance with clawed hands, no eyes, a wide mouth, and a snout ending in pink tentacles.

Duardlara signals to Manos to head back down the ladder to discuss the situation.

Otherwise, Duardlara will find a hiding place while someone with a silky tongue engages the robed man in dialogue. If he reacts in a hostile fashion, she will snipe from hiding.
