Priscilla Springheel |
Priscilla finished her swim and once out she dressed in her small clothes and slept.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In the morning she stretched. She did a few stretches and then began a series of flips. She smiled with her success and went over to begin to dress in her now semi dry clothes. Once she slipped in to her clothes she stoked the fire and looked about."So who is making breakfast?"
Ares Valorn |
Before they eat, Ares prays to Muir and with it releasing a wave of healing energy. Then the Aasimar blushes as he seconds Miss Springheel's request, "Yes my angel, it would be an honor for you to join us for breakfast." As he asks he grasps his holy symbol in hopes for her to say "yes".
Healing wave: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6

After breakfast the party returns to the ancient path and continues on to their destination.
Even today, a feeling of calm blankets those who travel the ancient path to the valley of the shrines, as if Thyr and Muir yet watch over those who would travel to their holy place. At the end of the path — at the entrance to the Valley of the Shrines — is another pair of weathered obelisks of white marble.
Once a lake of crystalline clarity, the lake is now fouled with excrement. Muck rings the lake and reeds clog its shores.
Near the dark lake stand the two Romanesque temples to Thyr and Muir, now blackened and desecrated. The shrine to Muir sits to the west of the shrine to Thyr. Both shrines face towards the center of the lake.
Jeb Hardthorne |
Having taken up the lead, Jeb is the first member of the band to exit the ancient path and enter the Valley. He stops dead, eyes opening wide in astonishment. Astonishment that such a holy place can be so...wrong. How can this have happened. It's far worse than anyone feared. And that's just from looking at it. I hope the brothers can handle this.
After a very long few seconds, he drops to a defensive stance and looks around, raising his bow and knocking an arrow. He glances around for any sign of an enemy and takes a step back towards the path, hoping to not have been seen yet if there are any.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Holding up his hand as if to signal stop, he whispers over his shoulder, "Hold for a moment. Ares, Andrek, you'll want to see this but do not exit the path yet. You must promise that."
Looking to the Falcon upon his shoulder, Jeb asks,"Tally, check the valley out. Let out a cry if you see anyone or anything moving around and then come back here from another direction. Fly now, girl." And with that he watches her take off.
Just wondering if you need me to tell you a trick she's doing or what. If so, I want to have her 'Seek'.
DM Grimmy |
Jeb can see forms moving under the surface of the now ironically-named Crystal Lake. A set of green hooded eyes breaking the surface identifies at least one of these forms as a giant frog. Some of them must be nearly as big as a mule.
On the far side of the lake, Tally performs an additional circle above the peaked rood of one of the two marble shrines. Jeb can't tell whether it is the one belonging to Thyr or his sister Muir, as they are identical. Tally rises to a higher altitude again before giving a shrill cry and returning to her master along the periphery of the small vale.
I definitely prefer hearing about what your doing in descriptive language (like you did)! But I guess dropping the name of the mechanic in blue OCC text below makes for best of both worlds.
Lucia Moonshadow |
Lucia eagerly awaits the return of the bird, kneeling quietly with the brothers and pris as Jeb looks out onto the lake.
Andrek Valorn |
After the channel Andrek will do a cure light on Tarvelin
clw: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Andrek feels good and enjoys the walk and the feeling of calm and peace that he rarely feels. For once he isn't angry at life and the things required to fight back evil.
However that quickly passes once past the white obelisks. Seeing the state enrages him, but despite that, he promised Jeb he would stay here and not storm into the valley. However he does draw his sword at the cry of Tally, "I'm ready to begin the cleansing of this area with this. This kind of affront cannot be tolerated."
Ares Valorn |
A tear wells up in his right eye as he looks onto desecrated land, with a tight grip on his blade he tries to bury the rage and sorrow he has for who ever have done this to his sacred ground. He hears his brothers words and manages to grunt, "Indeed.."
With a determinate look at the shrines with a stern voice, "Let us get moving."
Jeb Hardthorne |
Jeb points to the shrine. "She must have seen something roaming around that one shrine. The best way would be to make our way around the lake and converge upon the shrine, ready for anything."
Lucia Moonshadow |
"Lead the way!" Lucia says standing from her crouched position.
Jeb Hardthorne |
Jeb readies his bow and nocks an arrow. Then he proceeds out past the marble obelisks, carefully. Eyes scanning the vale around him for immediate threats. He chooses each step carefully to avoid detection from the hostiles he knows to be somewhere in the shrines. Leading a path for the rest of the group to follow.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
DM Grimmy |
I'm guessing you guys probably stay at least a giant frog-tongues length away from the lake as you pass by right?
The shrines are supported by columns within which are solid walls, but the great doors are thrown wide atop the front stairs.
The brothers know that the Shrine to the right (the one which Tally indicated) belongs to Thyr.
Ares Valorn |
Yeah, after those Water weirds I think were staying away from unknown water. hehe.
After letting the group know which is Muir's shrine, he then drops to a quick knee and saying a quick prayer in on honor of there arrival. The Aasimar looks to the group, "I not one for stealth so I'll let those who know this trade choose our path in, and brother if we run into another group of those cultist no foolish charging blindly." He gives a concerned look to his Andrek as he lectures him on this.
Priscilla Springheel |
"Did someone say stealth! Cause i am good at stealth,If you want I can teach you big guy"She says with child like enthusiasm as she looks about.
"Think about it you two if you get these shrines up and running, and the lake nice your gods would truly be honored by it"She says as she slips back into the group and looks about. As she does she couldn't help but think about the serious frog hunting in the area.
Jeb Hardthorne |
"Women seem to have more grace than us menfolk. Perhaps you two should take a look inside to provide us with more information. We'll be ready to come to the rescue should it be necessary." Jeb says, looking to the fairer of their group.
Lucia Moonshadow |
"Sounds fun to me, ready Pris?" Lucia says, turning to the young halfling.
Priscilla Springheel |
"Definitely,I am sick of just seeing everybody's backsides" She says as she moves to the front sliding two daggers back into their places.
"I could use a walking stick" She says look behind her self at the boys.
Ares Valorn |
"Charging is never foolish when I do it, always the wisest choice!"
Andrek motions the stealthy ones to proceed while he keeps one eye on the frogs in case they get aggressive.
Ares rolls his eyes at his brother's response and whispers to him, "Please be careful." Then he turns is concern to Lady Springheel and gives her a polite smile, "You'll have to teach me later, now is the time for masters. But I will learning from a distance over here."
As he looks on from the edge with the rest of the group, he holds a short spear low just in case.
Lucia Moonshadow |
It seems to have eaten my last post, sorry about that.
Lucia sends a message to her allies, warning them of the threat, We seem to have company in the right shrine.
Priscilla Springheel |
She slips back to Lucia to reveal her findings to Lucia.
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
"Lucia we got like six gooey skeletons, and a shattered statue in there. We should have the brothers get up here and see if they can do there godly thing"Shr says once again beside Lucia
Jeb Hardthorne |
His bow already in hand, Jeb starts forward cautiously at Andrek's beckon. Doing his best to be both alert of the environment and also as quiet as possible.
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Lucia Moonshadow |
Lucia explains the enemies and the nature of the spell cast on the shrine to her allies via message,.
Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Jeb Hardthorne |
Jeb moves next to Priscilla, maintaining his caution. He picks up a stone in his free hand and looks back to the others.
"Be ready for when they come out of the shrine," he whispers under the effects of Lucia's message spell still.
And with that he returns his attention on the opening to the shrine and chucks the stone into the shrine.
Jeb Hardthorne |
"This isn't good," Jeb says shaking his head. "The enemy has too much advantage in there for us to storm in. We need to draw them out. Anyone volunteer?" he asks as he looks about to his companions.
Lucia Moonshadow |
Lucia moves forward quietly, then launches a glob of acid at the (green) skeleton.
Acid Splash: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 111d3 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + (3) = 5
Sniping Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Lucia Moonshadow |
My bad, not sure what I was thinking there.
Lucia will launch another Acid Splash w/ sneak attack because the skeletons have yet to act.
Acid Splash: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 181d3 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (4) = 5
