While we're waiting, I've been thinking... We might not all survive this impending fight against the Whispering Way. If not for the Professor's will, we wouldn't even be here in the first place, so we might as well write wills of our own before we get into anything too dangerous.
I have no family and no real friends to speak of. If I die and can't be resurrected, take me to the nearest Temple of Pharasma and have them bury me in my nicest clothes with my holy symbol, my axe and my silver dagger. Give my money to the temple, keep or sell the rest of my gear and split the profits. If transportation of my body to a temple isn't feasible, take everything but the items I'm to be buried with. You can send someone from the church for me when it's safe, or Vivian can perform my burial rites.
Tamarie doesn't believe too much in a life after this one where the things she had in this life will mean anything. She would like for hr earthly possessions to be used in full to help the many orphans and widows of war through various charitable organisations. Her body is to be burned, if the option is there. Otherwise, buried is a good second option.
Well this is going to be a major bummer.
Good news and bad news for everyone.
Yesterday I was assigned to be the new Pathfinder Society Venture Captain for Kentucky. It's awesome because I've really been wanting to do what I can for PFS in the area and this is a major leap forward for me. So thats the awesome good news.
Bad news is I'm going to have to seriously cut back on the Play by Post games I am in, since I'm going to have to spend a lot more time on the boards organizing and corresponding with players.
Having said that, I have spoke with Zander Scott's player and he is dying (no pun intended) to get into a Carrion Crown game and I'd love for you all to accept him in my place. He plays in one of my current PbP games and would be an excellent addition.
I was really looking forward to this one, but I think after my other PFS PbP games finish up I'm only going to have time to run my Kingmaker game. The rest of my time is going to be spoken for.
Give Zander a shot, I'm sure you will be impressed.

The unfortunate truth is that I am really the greatest 'speedbump' the game is dealing with at the moment. When I was managing to maintain my 'one post a day, minimum' quota, we were moving along at a very nice pace. I feel confident that we will get back there.

I wouldn't worry too much. None of you have flubbed anything yet. Think of this more like one of those 'Police Procedural' dramas. There is always a certain amount of arguing with the 'powers-that-be' in the beginnings of those things. It's how they show that there is actual work being done.

I wonder how much Vivian knows about the Pharasmin Penitence: I guess she knows about the dull-no pleasure-no joy-no laugh day to day attitude (yuuuuck!)... but does she knows about the more "extremist" side of the sect?
My impression is that as someone who grew up in Karcau, (Where the Penitence is not strong in my game. Something about valuing the arts & 'Austerity Measures' being almost mutually exclusive...), She would have an intellectual understanding, but not so much a visceral comprehension.
Kind of like the difference between knowing there is a strict caloric intake regime & experiencing 'NO SECONDS OR DESERT!'

Interestingly enough, it didn't occur to me until I took a close look at the Ustalav map on the inner cover of 'Rule of Fear', but Ravengro is well & truly hosed if Tar Baphon ever makes it out of Gallowspire. It is almost literally equidistant between there & the border with the Holds of Belkzen & guess where Tar Baphon will be picking up troops?..

I do hope you guys are enjoying yourselves. I had the dubious pleasure a few months ago of finally breaking down & telling the 'then current' Gm in my alternating Friday nights game that I really didn't think he was doing a very good job & then breaking down, step by step, the things I felt he needed to improve on.
I bring this up because in retrospect, I feel that I handled the scene with the Sheriff similarly to how he (my GM friend) handled a couple of his NPC's which really torqued myself & a couple other players off.

Considering you picked this up in the middle, I think you are doing well. You have far more background and details than I am used to in any game, which clearly takes a lot of planning, and I can accept a bit slower pace for it.
That is actually one of my biggest concerns with trying to run a game of my own here, is having players who know the geography/history of an area better than I do, and they I say things that are totally wrong. I don't know settings and placements,so dealing with someone who does is nice, albeit, fairly daunting.
Keep at it, DM. I don't mind if not everyone likes us (right away/ ever) :-)
I have three things to say.
I apologize for not posting in the last 24 hours, but I was actually away from a computer for that entire time which is rather odd for me.
Despicable Me 2 was a great deal of fun & so was Pacific Rim.
If you have the time & the disposable income & enjoy either silly & not-so-silly movies or Giant Robots fighting Giant Monsters, I thoroughly recommend both of them.
Oh & I will be posting in Gameplay tomorrow morning.

Tamarie is just dieing to get out and adventure, find the reason the professor... Well, has so many question marks surrounding him.
I'm going to be completely excommunicado from the 24th to the 28th since I'll be sitting on a meadow in France in a medieval outit. ;)
