Rilee--story-wise, I think you could be off searching for Jubrayl...but I tried to leave this scene open such that you could join in for this next delve.

I dunno how long it'll take, but if you want in, I'd assume you can either return from your searching in time to join us...or even spot us walking toward the catacombs while you search.

Also: keep in mind that these past few little vignettes were simply to either introduce some other aspects of life going on in Sandpoint, or were simply little wrenches I've thrown in to make things a tad bit more intriguing, be it now or later on. Solutions may or may not be possible right now. As well as the fact that they may or may not have any further bearing on the story at all.

Really? I thought we were getting together to start the search of the catacombs.


I guess it is somewhat unclear.

Locate Creature and Object aren't like Commune or other "Cast and Immediately Learn Stuff" spells. They create magic radar circles centered around the caster. When whatever you're searching for falls within the circle, the spell turns you in its direction like a compass. You're highly encouraged to walk around.

Setsuna would have cast those spells at the catacombs, not at the Rusty Dragon; they're only a standard action for casting time.

I guess you could retcon it to say that Azathoth ate the catacombs and part of the glass works. Either way, Setsuna plans to lie about what happened.

Okay, I see the confusion. So we'll see if Thron will rescue the Rusty Dragon or say that it happened there anyway.

At least I got to use squamous in a sentence!

came across this game by accident, saw enough familiar names that I stuck around to read a bit.......impressive and entertaining stuff!!


The spells are gained via Dreamed Secrets, which specifically states they are acquired during sleeping. I doubt you are just super narcoleptic and can fall asleep at will at a moments notice, and as such need a quiet, safe, comfortable location to do so. And the damage is... *rereads feat text* taken at the time of casting...well s%#!.

Oh well, things have progressed in character. I'll try to remember that next time. Lol.


That is correct, but Setsu didn't need to sleep in the first place; I already grabbed those spells last night (or was it yesterday afternoon?) in-game. I used them to initially locate the missing women.

We can just chalk it up to Azathoth having a moment of clarity, foreseeing Setsuna casting ahead of time, and flexing his almighty, omnipotent muscles (or Setsuna just casting them ahead of time in case Ameiko was walking home or something).


Works. Save for why you wandered off upstairs. But a miniscule detail.

Starting a work stretch tonight of 6 nights. Will post as am able, but definitely looking to move on the main plot once more at the end of this run, likely next Thursday morning but possibly sooner.


tldr: if she can get a reliable description of the Jorgenfist area, Setsuna plans to hire a Hound Archon to Greater Teleport us in via Bag of Holding. Cuts out random encounters and gives us some breathing room with the "Giants Throw Rocks, Varisia Dies" doomsday countdown. She'll purchase enough for a return trip/an emergency exit as well.

In short:

1) Get a "reliable description" that would allow Greater Teleport to work. That is all you need.

2) Extended Paragon Surge Planar Ally.

3) Call a Hound Archon.

4) Pay him 600 gp for 10 minutes of his time.

5) Have Rilee cast Carry Companion on Olympus.

6) Let the Hound borrow my Ring of Invisibility.

7) Have him make a test run.

8) If successful, have the invisible Hound Archon ferry us there one at a time in the bag of holding.

9) ???

10) Save Varisia.

A) Polymorphing into eagles, trusting that Rilee will return you to your normal form without any undo harm to your psyche.

B) Trusting the Archon's ability to teleport you close enough to Jorgenfist that you can avoid any excess danger.

Unlike A, it can be canceled if the test run fails. Greater Teleport cannot misfire. And if the invisible hound sees a bunch of stone giants, then it's basically succeeded.

If not, then we should just walk. Have Rilee track the giant warband, who probably weren't subtle.

#1 : B* (greater teleport).
#2 : a gentle stroll through the countryside

* Note that if it turns out we can't learn enough in Magnimar to figure out where it is, perhaps Olympus & Rilee scout ahead in bird-form, and then we teleport to meet them?


That's a good alternative, Zoli. I would go with them in that case since I'm the one calling the Hound. Once he sees what Jorgenfist looks like, ferrying people from Sandpoint (which we can all easily describe to him or just show him a map of) to there is trivial.
