You should switch to a Canadian provider....temps today are -26F. Internet purring like a kitten :)

Quick note: I am compiling all the nonsense I posted about the mysterious "contagion" and in that I discovered that I originally described Parker Andersen as being a "short man." So please disregard the comment made in the recent post that says he is almost six feet tall.
I should be putting up a post to explain what Parker wants your all to do to help him find and explore the situation with the Contagion today.

Xor - I just want to point out that Xor and Sasithorn joined this game when it was originally only meant to be a silly diversion in the off topic forums. I want to say thank you to Xor for sticking with us through all the ups and mostly downs, and I know this is turning into something unlike what he originally signed up for.
If anyone feels I am getting too "heavy" in the direction this game is going (too much background information, too many unusually monsters and setting situations) and you want to drop out of the game, now would be the time.
I'd like to get all your questions answered and get us moving toward the wreck in the desert as soon as we can.

My brain has taken a turn for the worse these past couple years, which has prevented me from doing better/being a bit more engaged in a venue in which I should rightly be excelling, hence a bit of delay/drag on my end.
I'm not giving up, though!

Gwernach Nickelbeard |

What?! Evacuate in our moment of triumph? I think you overestimate ... something. Yeah, I think I gotta hang around to see what happens next.

None that come to mind.

@Rashly5: Why do I not see you in the Forum Games anymore?

@Rashly5: Why do I not see you in the Forum Games anymore?
A combination of real life mixing lack of opportunity with a block on creativity making posting there a sometimes-effort when I could put that effort on making better posts in my games, which I can struggle with. Also I honestly forget about that place sometimes.

I'll take:
1 weight nullifier,
1 respirator,
1 utility harness,
1 length of rope,
and
1 short-range communication device

Gwernach Nickelbeard |

Diddo...but a bit extra:
1 weight nullifier, 1 respirator, 1 utility harness, 1 length of rope, two personal restraint systems, 1 short-range communication device, 1 of those portable power systems with multi-configuration adapters and a multi-tool.

M.A.R.V.I.N. |

Marvin will take whatever's left over. There's five of us so supplies will be limited as we're only provided four or less on most items.
They will take at least a length of the multi-filament heavy-duty rope, however.

I don't suppose anyone has anyone they could recruit as replacements...?

![]() |

Do you mind if I ask around to see if anyone I know would like to join us as Diarmal's replacement?

Generic Dungeon Master |

I'm going to put up a post describing a few deferent options for getting inside the contagion
I know, I know, making decisions is always a pain in the ass
Also, Sasithorn has suggested we might find a replacement for Diarmal. I'm willing to consider it
I'll be posting soon, and if we add a new character We'll find a way to drop in some sort of lost soul, or maybe even a member of the crew from the Annic Nova who stowed away on the shuttle (with all sorts of mysterious plots cooked up).

I know, I know, making decisions is always a pain in the ass
I think we're just unclear, based on your last post, what our options presently are.

Originally this game was meant to be “light” and a bit silly, but as it has evolved it has become a bit more serious. I do not hold any player to the responsibility of taking it seriously.
We might be adding a new player or two.
In the process of creating some sort of plot to carry this game forward I have introduce a lot of strange things, but I choose, originally, to set the game on the campaign world of Hamth (a world I created before I knew of Dungeons and Dragons, at about the age of 10).
Over the years Hamth has developed quite a bit. For interested players (there have been a couple) I have tried to explain some of the things about Hamth in private messages, or in post such as this.
As we venture into the wreck of the Contagion, and possibly confront the elements behind its strange connection to the Temple of Tanri Shar, I wanted anyone in the game who is curious to know a little about the Pantheon of Hamth
There are three primordial Deities of this pantheon, who are, in most ways, supposed to be represented as “beyond the understanding of mortal minds” – they are
Neramath – Time, the finite, death
Churhl –Space, thought, infinity
Hamth – Matter, emotion, life
These Deities are “alignment-less”
The interconnectedness (not so much the mating of, but it can be thought of in those terms) of these three forces produced the first elemental deities (which unlike most other D&D or Pathfinder campaign settings, are primarily “Good” aligned)
Space+Matter =Urddhe
Time+Matter=Xetas
Space+Time=Rehevaz
Time+Space+Matter=Iekah
Xetas – water, masculine (calming), living essence, mobility, adaptability, good, chaotic
Urddhe – earth (ground), feminine (calming), strength, conviction, stubbornness, good, lawful
Rehevaz – air, feminine (disruptive), influence, shaper, divination, secrets, good, neutral (chaotic)
Iekah – fire, masculine (disruptive), change, imagination, invention, good, neutral (lawful)
These seven primordial forces (plus the so far unnamed primordial deities of the plane of shadows and the plane of fey) are responsible, in one way or another, for the deities of all other pantheons of the world, which mostly includes the Gods and Goddess of the different races of intelligent creatures of the world.
The deities Moloween Sonumb and Tanri Shar are connected to the bridge between the shadow plane and the planes of Law and Chaos (which so far, in my campaign setting, have not been clearly defined)
Moloween Sonumb represents Law, in the form of retribution, justice, and dreams typically of the portent or understood kind (the dreams of guilty people are said to be brought by her minions)
Tanri Shar represents Chaos, in the form of justice ignored or unserved, and dreams typically of the fearful or confusing kind (the dreams of honest people who are being tempted to do harmful things are said to be brought by his minions).

Hello everybody! Thanks for inviting me to take part :) I've been in a few PbPs in the past, one of which went on for something like four years, but I spend most of my time nobbing about in off-topic / forum games. Nice to have a chance to do a bit more gaming on the site.
Presenting Yildiri, a half-elf Inquisitor of Moloween Sunumb.
The clan her human father belonged to had a peculiar relationship with the local Elves, regarding them, with a considerable amount of superstitious awe, as embodied nature spirits, so when Yildiri was born of a chance liason between her adventuresome father and an Elven woman and taken home to the camp, she was automatically assumed to have a greater connection to the spiritual than usual.
The priestesses in the tribe, who worship Moloween, are all elderly women, as younger women and men have too much to do on a day-to-day basis, and after her father was killed while raiding a nearby clan, the Bayacinçi, Yildiri was brought up by her grandmother, assisting her with her shaman's duties and learning about the Goddess.
As she is nowhere near the age at which she'd be allowed to enter the ranks of the priestesses, she is employed as a freelance agent for them, dealing with spiritual or supernatural dangers that the regular warriors cannot or will not deal with, as well as acting as a neutral arbiter between clans.
She is short - 5' 1" - as most of the nomads tend to be, with long black braids that she keeps hidden under a black and silver veil, as she is obliged to as a devotee of Moloween. Her eyes are also black; her skin is an odd greenish-gold colour, like old copper, and she has five fingers on her left hand and four on her right (she is left-handed, which is more common than usual amongst Sulumbites).
She is dressed in a heavy hide cuirass, covered with beadwork and embroidery, with a skullcap under her veil, riding breeches, and fur boots. She is armed with a shortbow and spear she inherited from her father and a mace with an obsidian and silver head, carved into the shape of a veiled woman's head.

My Internet connection's down (I'm posting from a local cafe), and will apparently be that way for the next few days, so if my post rate seems to slow down, that's why. I'll do my best to keep up, though.

![]() |

My Internet problem's fixed. Didn't take as long as I expected.

Generic Dungeon Master |

The finger isn't technically missing, or maybe it is, but Eysturluns (which are the elves of southern Emalia/Kizjta) only have four digits on their hands and feet, three fingers and a thumb on the hand, four toes on each foot. Sasithorn is Eysturlun, but it hasn't come up in conversation such, and I don't really expect any payer to remember all the silly nuances of my camping world

![]() |

I try to, though - it's cool to be in somebody's homebrewed world with its own quirks!
How long has it been (in-game) since the "tainted seawater/dismantle the portal" episode? Have we rested since then?

Generic Dungeon Master |

Ah, of course, recently there was a change to the way DropBox allowed users to share files. I am going to have to go back to all my games and update links to images I have saved to DropBox
Also, as a heads up warning. I will be travelling to Redondo beach, CA for training beginning on 3/19 and until 3/25. I expect to have little to no ability to update images (almost everything is saved to my home computer) and if I can post to games I will try, but the class I am taking is supposed to be challenging and I might be doing homework projects every night.
Thanks, everyone

Welcome Yildiri - say, would you mind throwing out a stealth skill roll for me
The party is closing in on the site, I will nbeed the players to decide what approach they will make to gain access to the ship, and then we will see if Yildiri appears, or if she remains hidden, for now...

Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Apparently not. Looks like a Sears-Roebuck catalog's idea of a spaceship.

Gwernach Nickelbeard |

I'm thinking Dr. Who era. Red Dwarf perhaps? Or WarHammer 4000? Found some of those here. This looks close too. Course, there are worse designs out there :)
