I'm all for continuing, but I think Ribat is going to make a hard turn character-wise. I'm thinking druid, maybe.
The snag there being that your Wisdom isn't high enough for more than a few levels of Druid - maybe Ranger or Rogue? A multiclass plan would work, too. I suspect you also want a heavier weapon than a kukri.

Diarmal Illsutra |

Decided to go with scribe scroll to better reinforce Diarmal's position as super support cleric. Given enough time (and gold) he'll be able to have spells on hand for just about any threat we might run into.

Character sheet updated on my profile!
Chosen Class: Gunslinger (Musket Master)
HP: 12 = 10 (1d10 max) + 1 (con) + 1 (favored class)
BAB +1
Will +1
Feat Chosen: Rapid Shot
Deeds Gained: Fast Musket, Gunslinger Initiative, Pistol-Whip
Skill Ranks: 5 = 4 (base) + 1 (int modifier)
Acrobatics +2
Disable Device +2
Perception +1
Would also like to remind everyone that we're taking max HP until level 3 and will begin rolling for it at level 4.
I took Disable Device, but Ribat might want to take over that skill if he's multiclassing so I can put points elsewhere.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but a Gunslinger's only saving throw improvement at 3rd level is to Will.
Also, I've still got this sack of bread and cheese that we don't seem to have consumed....

Haha, yeah, I noticed soon after I posted it. Already changed. Thanks for the heads-up!

What do you mean? My Wisdom is 14, which is good enough until I need to cast 5th level spells (level 9).

Right, but that's the upper limit (note the eternal vagary of the word "a few"). I'm not saying don't pursue it, but your ability scores (as well as character concept) seem more cut out for an interesting multiclass schema - come to think of it, you'd make a good Inquisitor, if that interests you.

So...what happens next?

Generic Dungeon Master |

I am going to try to put together a post that gets the group back to Sewardhome, where they can tell the good priest about their victory, then I've been writing a post from Parker Andersen, to bring him closer to the game, and then a dramatic post to set you in motion to the next chapter, stay with me, I'll be back soon

Generic Dungeon Master |

Almost a week since Marvin's warning, and no one responded to him.
Either you try to find Agent Paulina's Location, following Marvin's cryptic codes, or you go back to Connie's Bright, either way this requires, OMFG, the party talking to each other
Either in character or not, I don't care, but please, try to make a plan togather.

![]() |

Sorry; I haven't been able to think of anything to add save for affirming the obvious next step; maybe I'm too used to these trains moving themselves. I'd be much more active were I not oppressed by severe personal problems.

Generic Dungeon Master |

I always told myself that I would not go on line and tell people that I am sick.
I am not well, but I am holding on so I will try to get updated tonight or tomorrow. It's not serious, but it is something I've never had to deal with before.
I am not clear on where the party wants to go, back to Connie's Bright, or in search of Agent Southmiller?

![]() |

We're seeing Southmiller. I figured that was a given.

Generic Dungeon Master |

I am up, but not out of the woods (first antibiotic failed, on the second one now) and I could not stay in bed any longer, so I got up and went to work today. On my break, I am going to try to start updating games, first with a quick review of where we were, and then a game post.
Wish me luck.
I'll be back in a moment or two with a brief review

M.A.R.V.I.N. |

Anyone have any Survival? Marvin has a rank in it for a total +6 bonus, but aiding him will require a DC 15 check because they have the Paranoid trait since they need to recalculate and confirm what data they're given. Would be better if someone else has a higher bonus that we can aid.

![]() |

Very sorry; lost track of this one for a bit. I'd been paying scrupulous attention for some time, but happened to lose track the past few days for some reason. I'm in several PbP games at once right now. I'm here, though, and I am staying here.
I want to be more involved the whole way around, but I get...compromised by psychological problems that impede my mental faculties, including the fact that I'm still trying to recover from years of being stuck in gaming environments where most things outside bean-counting were socially discouraged. :(

M.A.R.V.I.N. |

I've noticed it's sometimes hard for players to be proactive, which the PBP environment demands. Encounters are almost always reactive which is why most find it easier then. Just my observation, of course.

![]() |

I think you have a very good point, M.A.R.V.I.N.. The biggest obstacle to being proactive in my case is when I'm not clear on the big picture and/or what my present options are (that was a big problem of mine in the Tomb of Horrors, Xor, since I had trouble tracking where we'd been, what options we'd already explored, what loose ends still lay untied, and what still lay open).
There was briefly a guy on the Forum Games a while back who tried running an adventure modeled in interface on ZORK. I've never played ZORK, but I found that format very agreeable with regard to being able to handle the adventure and knowing what I could potentially do. It seems especially well-suited to the PbP format.

Let's change the subject for a moment: You know I still have a large sack of uneaten bread and cheese that I've been carrying around ever since we left Connie's Bright?

Sasithorn Loom looms....

![]() |

It does seem fairly uncomplicated for the time being.

M.A.R.V.I.N. |

We need to:
- Find the gate.
- Shut it down or destroy it if we can.
- Place Paulina's device on or near it.
We need to find the gate first. If the monsters are all just heading East, we could follow tracks back to the gate or just keep looking for monsters heading east and trailing them to their source. Without getting detected or mobbed, preferably. I don't know what kind of numbers we're looking at, but we're a small group versus something that overran a village.
Paulina mentioned a signal coming from the gate so that would hopefully be useful for narrowing down where it is.

Actually, I believe the answer is "a number of rounds equal to twice your Constitution score" (although it's possible I'm a little off the mark there somehow).

I don't suppose there'd be anything wrong with me trying to sniff out one or two of my friends on here in case they're inclined to join?
