Cool; just so we're clear.
That said, is it really so spartan in here? I'm not asking for plot hints, I'm asking if we see anything that might distinguish one direction from another. Despite how long the temple's been abandoned, it was, at one point, built for people to utilize, so I'm what I'm asking is if there are things like signs or hieroglyphs or whatever that might say "This way to the Confessional" or "Paths of the Holy Ones, Grades Gamma thru Chi" or "Chamber of Teriyaki-Flavored Doom," or even just a disparity in the brickwork or a weird stain or a silly-looking bas-relief that suggests what might lie in that direction.

This area does seem unusually devoid of any symbols or iconography, perhaps thing are a little different further in...
In other news - I am traveling to Boise to put my wife on a plane (she is going to Cambodia for two weeks to visit our daughter). I might be late in posting this weekend and the beginning of the week

Generic Dungeon Master |

Leaving this morning for Boise to pick up my wife and daughter who are returning from Cambodia - Our daughter has finished her Fulbright Scholarship and will be home for three weeks (we haven't seen her for a year) so the next little while might be a bit slower than the regular slowness

Looks fine to me, enjoy your time with your family Terq!

Cambodia? Now there's a place you never hear about anymore. What's she doing there?

I'm out and about from Thursday until Monday, by the way, so please do DMPC me if it's necessary to keep things moving.

Yildiri Carakeju |

Congratulations! :)

With you till the end!

Sorry for the long delay
This part of the adventure is a simple dungeon crawl. If the party isn't in agreement as to what the purpose of diving deep into the temple is, things could bog down very quickly
Dungeon crawls are tough in PbP anyway, so I'll try to keep it interesting
I've updated some games tonight but I've run out of steam, I'll be back in the morning with an update
Thank you for your patience

We are, I think - the dungeon just hasn't given us much in the way of a sense of direction so far.

@DM: I'm having a bit of difficulty deciding who fits Sasithorn better: Moloween or Tanri Shar. I've had my patron down as Moloween for some time since that's who you told me about at the start, but aside from the "Justice" angle you mentioned, it seems like Tanri Shar might be a better fit for me in other ways.

Keep on Truckin' - and Trekkin'!

My plan was to update games yesterday, but yesterday we had a fire at the facility where I am a system engineer. A Pyrophoric event in the sorting trough. I was assigned to the Emergency Response Organization and assigned to the Emergency Operations Center. I wasn't released from work until 9:20 pm (my day started at 3:45 am)
I'm a little tired and shook up, but I think I can get updates done today

I can scarcely overstate my admiration for your dedication.

Anyone here interested in also joining another short adventure?
It's a wacky-ass Yuletide slugfest one-shot kind of thing (that could hypothetically lead to something bigger, maybe) - details here.

Happy new year!

It started to look like the combat rounds were going to be the death of this game.
Let's call it.
The machine is destroyed, the party stands in the chamber out of breath and a bit confused as to what they were supposed to be doing just a few moments ago.
If you still want to play in this game, I'm still trying to run it, so lets see if the characters can come up with a plan of action, now that the "sentries" are defeated.

![]() |

I'm not giving up! :)
As for the combat, your sentinels are a bit high on hit points; just shave a bit off, I guess, since you're mostly using custom monsters.
As for resting, as Gwernach suggested: I am neither for nor against it.

And, a reminder to all my games
I leave for Hawai'i (Oahu) on Monday, and return the following Monday. Our daughter's wedding is on Friday the 9th. Most of the week will be overrun with wedding planning and logistic (managing all the family and friends who are coming to the wedding).
I'll have my phone, so if I have to answer a question I will try to do that as quickly as possible, but I don't imagine I'll be moving games forward much.

Enjoy!

Hope you all have a good time, GDM :)

I know you are all great players, and thank you for putting in the effort to keep up with me.
But when it starts to look like the players don't even want to post to talk to each other, maybe ask each other if someone has any idea what's going on, or to share ideas. It really bugs me.
I'm back now, and I appreciate everyone waiting for me. If you don't want to play anymore because this game just doesn't hold your interest, please let me know. And, please, let me know if you intend to keep playing a character that will never be interested in talking to the other characters, just so I know not to get upset about it.

I, for one, am sincerely still engaged, or at least I want to be; it's just the psychological deterioration I've been suffering for years - of course, I say *I've* been suffering from it, but I honestly can't tell where MY problems begin and other people's problems end anymore. I certainly didn't used to be this way. I used to be nothing short of a creative genius until I started getting punished for it in precisely the venues where it should have been most welcomed...but one thing you're never allowed to do is say there's some kind of hivemind effect dragging everybody down, whether it's true or not. You always have to blame yourself for anything bad you observe, continually taking on more responsibility while giving up more power...which means that if it IS a sort of mass psychological blight, you're basically force-fed it when you try to snap people out of it.
On a more concrete, discrete, immediate in-game level, my biggest problem is that I'm literally not sure where we're going in this temple; it's very spartan in here as you've described it, and our present quest is also a bit vague, so I don't think we don't know what to do.

So have we "rested" rested since that last fight, or was it just a few minutes for a biscuit-break?
