Conner passes through the door. the situation is the same but the table is empty.
Felix Tark |
After Conner comes back out and relays the word to the others Felix will suggest that Tatsuo retrieve the wondrous orb from the other side and they move ahead to explore the last undiscovered rooms other than the part caved in with rubble.
Tatsuo Arashi |
Once everybody's done exploring the room, Tatsuo grabs his orb from the other room before moving on.
DM of the coins |
the Lizardman's name is "S'latch" bonus to who can guess the reference of that name
Felix Tark |
After S'latch has decided to go, or not, into the room, Felix will move towards the last unexplored portions, looking for traps as he goes Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
DM of the coins |
I will get the info on that room later tonight at work right now so I can't access the maps
Tatsuo Arashi |
Feel free to assume that Tatsuo will do any and all translating with our lizardfolk companion. Short of stupid things like insulting his mom. ;-)
As the group heads towards unexplored area, Tatsuo idly wonders out loud, "Do you think we can trust those that brought us here enough to ask them to start excavating that tunnel while we travel to the other lizardfolk tribe? Or should we just wait until we return?"
Felix Tark |
I came here pretty much alone. How did you guys get here? Felix asks curiously as he examines the contents of the rotten wooden crates as well as the metal ones unaffected by the rigours of time. Taking 20 to examine everything with DETECT EVIL ON for a perception of 29
Conner K. |
Conner examines everything with him using detect magic & evil, making small talk to pass the time we were called here for a will reading, between us, we own this place, the silver keys we wear around our necks are symbols of this ownership
treat my perception as an aid another check for him, I'll roll perception if nesciarry
DM of the coins |
OK the whole map is revealed now, and you are heading to room 9 and I just now realized I posted in the wrong thread...
Making your way through the passageways you make your way to what you believe to be the last unexplored section of the vault.
the hallway leading to the room is blocked by a 10 foot wide by 10 long pit. the pit appears to be a natural sink-hole that is no longer growing.
It is easy enough to navigate across the pit and you make your way to a metal door.
investigation shows that the door's latch is corroded to the point of being useless, and the door easily swings open
This room smells of mold and mildew. piled in this room are old rotted wooden crates. they are shaped like crates that are used to store paintings in.
of the literally dozens of wooden crates, there are a couple of metal ones that remained unaffected by the mold and rot.
DM of the coins |
As far as perceptions go, its all as described, no magic, and no evil are detected.
basically it is an old store room. you will have to take time to open all the crates to see the condition of the contents before you can appraise the contents.
Felix Tark |
Yup if we didn't find any traps or detect anything weird Felix would go ahead and help Conner open a crate and inspect its contents before moving on to the others
Tatsuo Arashi |
Tatsuo picks up and examines a painting or whatever else it is that is in the box. "I'm not much good at evaluating these kinds of things." He tilts his head to one side, raising a skeptical eyebrow at the item. "But I would suggest we move this back to the locked vault. It should be safer there while we continue onwards."
DM of the coins |
You examine all the crates, and after some time you discover that there are numerous rare paintings in here from all over the world. unfortunately many have been affected by the moisture and will require some restoration work.
as is the entire collection is worth about 50,000 gold
with restoration work completed the value could go up to close to 100,000 gold.
(restoration work will require a Craft painting check DC 25 with a fial of over 5 ruining the painting for good.) (this will have to be successful 10 times) (each ruined painting reduces the value by 1,000 gp)
Tatsuo Arashi |
"Well, we had been bunking with the Blackscale clan...." Tatsuo pauses to consider their options. "We could possibly go back upstairs. Otherwise we may as well just find some place down here to sleep. In theory it should be relatively safe since we've cleared most of it."
Felix Tark |
Well either way. We'll have to keep watch regardless. I think I'll hold on to this ring of sustenance. Won't start working for a bit Felix yawns and slips it on.
Ready to call it a night. Will take any watch that's open
Per for watch if needed: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Tatsuo Arashi |
Tatsuo nods his head at Conner's wisdom. "I still have a number of offensive spells ready, so I'll take first watch if Mickey would care to take the last one?"
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Aid: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Tatsuo will cast some healing spells on Sora right after his shift and then dismiss her, resummoning her when he wakes up.
DM of the coins |
1d20 ⇒ 5
1d20 ⇒ 10
1d20 ⇒ 6
1d20 ⇒ 9
Your rest is undisturbed, early on as you rested you thought you heard the sounds of someone or something tunneling nearby, but it passed without incident.
Felix Tark |
That umber hulk.. it seems to be avoiding us, so that's good. As long as it doesn't start causing damage I think we can leave it be Felix says the next morning.
DM of the coins |
You all rest and are refreshed.
S'latch guides you through the lizardman caves out to the surface. you find yourselves in a swamp on the far side of the island opposite the village port.
there is a large hill to your west.
S'latch indicates that the other tribe is that direction, toward the hill, there is also the cave of the bull-man.
Tatsuo Arashi |
Tatsuo translates Conner's question.
After waiting for a response and translating, Tatsuo asks for some brief clarification on positioning. "Where are the tribe and cave of the bull-man located? Are they on this side of the hill or the far side?"
