the passageway gets damper and takes on a musky smell as you proceed. the poison detection continues to get stronger.
after a bit, the the passageway opens to a larger chamber. in the far side of the Chamber there is a pool of water with a slight violet tint to it.
surrounding the water's edge are numerous mushrooms, This mushroom grows from a bed of tentacular roots. Deep violet tendrils slither out of the dozens of fissures in its pointed cap.
at least 4 of them are nearly 4 and a half feet in height.
two of them have several tendrils entering into the water and they seem to be the source of the violet tint on the water.
Mickey's detect poison is extremely strong on these mushrooms and the tinted water. The strength of the detecting prevents identifying if all 4 of these are poisonous or just a few.

Tatsuo Arashi |

Dungeoneering: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 I'm assuming that's at least high enough to know that we're about to be attacked by mushrooms.
"Killer mushroom creatures!" Hoping to get in before he risks friendly fire, Tatsuo moves forward as his arms start to glow.
Burning Hands -> Electric
Electric Hands: 3d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1, 2) + 4 = 9 +1CL from Varisian Tattoo, +3 from bloodline, +1 elemental pupil. If he finds out they're weak to fire or resistant to electricity, he'll use fire instead, in which case ignore the +4
If I remember correctly, you said you wanted us to roll their saves.
Closer Mushroom Reflex DC17: 1d20 ⇒ 10 Fail
Further one: 1d20 ⇒ 3 Fail
With a soft hissss light starts to travel down the cloud tattoo on his arm. When it reaches the tips of his fingers, it jumps into the air with a loud CRACK, blasting the two closest mushrooms.
As everybody's eyes adjust from the bright flash back to the relative darkness of the cave, Sora slithers forward, attempting to see if the mushroom creatures are tasty.
Bite attack with 10ft reach on the mushroom threatening Tatsuo
To Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage (B/S/P): 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Sora's teeth dig deeply into the creature, looking sad that the creature's soft squishy body denies a satisfying crunch sounds. Her expression soon changes to a look of disgust as she starts spitting out the foul tasting chunk of creature that she had bitten off.

DM of the coins |

This man sized mushroom is in fact a violet fungus, a subterranean creature that can move slowly about on a mass of small feelers.
As well as being partially mobile, violet fungi also have poisonous tentacles that can incapacitate the unwary dungeoneer.
possesses the following traits
Low-light vision.
Immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms).
Immunity to paralysis, poison, polymorph, sleep effects, and stunning.
Proficient with its natural weapons only.
Not proficient with armor.
Plants breathe and eat, but do not sleep.
As Tat approaches the fungus' the closer one starts to emit a very loud Shriek, almost like a wailing sound, that echos throughout the cavern.
but that wail is suddenly cut short as the combination of Tat's electrical arc and Sora's bite destroy the thing.
The further back mushroom is burned by the electrical flash and it seems to be moving two of its tendrils around to attack the culprit. (two tendrils remain in the water)

Felix Tark |

Felix moves in and fires at the purple mushroom closest to him.
Musket fire on touch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 131d12 ⇒ 6
and uses a move action to reload with a paper cartridge.

DM of the coins |

added the gnolls that are with you, they are in the back named Bud and Lou

DM of the coins |

Felix, I checked your range (40') and all the mushrooms are in range so pick which one you want.

Tatsuo Arashi |

"In case you couldn't tell, they're poisonous including their attacks. They're also rather slow. They're immune to mind-affecting effects, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning." He felt most of that was probably unnecessary to say except for the speed thing. But you never knew what might be useful. And he had no idea what the new guy planned to do.

Delkaneth "Del" Sargan |

sorry, not sure what happened there....
Delkaneth peers ahead at the strange fungus creatures but before he can begin to describe their abilities Tatsuo is already doing exactly that.
Time to earn your keep another way...
Making his way up from the back he draws an axe into each hand. As he moves around the corner he lets one axe fly. He is rewarded with a louder squiching sound as the weapon digs into its fleshy stalk.
Move Action: 30' to E6, free action to draw weapons during move
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 at fungus I4

Del you are about 25 feet away from the nearest fungus so you will need to use a ranged attack

Conner charges the first ones he sees with his enchanted blade 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
this is rather fishy... How would she not notice this... The only thing I can think of is that she somehow caused these things to be here... What kind of poison could create such beings... Maybe it just attracted them?

DM of the coins |

Conner, the purple is difficult terrain so cannot charge
one of the purple mushrooms seems to rise on a mass of tendrils and it slithers forward toward the group, two large tendrils stretch from the fungus into the water and two tendrils lash out at Tat and Mickey.
attack on Tat: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
attack on Mickey: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
but the attacks prove useless against their protections
the second fungus moves closer and does not attack. again two tendrils reach out into the water and two are ready to defend itself.

still trying to figure out Conner's movement and attack, based on the starting locations not enough movement to reach any of them to attack. I simply have Conner where he is now. but would not be able to attack

DM of the coins |

5' squares, purple squares are difficult terrain. also the purple mushrooms were all 10' further back during your turn

![]() |

and the brown ones? Difficult terrain means it cost double to move yes? So, three squares for a move action, if I'm not misremembering something, and the brown ones didn't also move, I should be able to hit a brown one after makeing a move action, if I wasn't able to hit last turn anyway, I instead start inspiring compatence, and then take a move action to get within 10 ft of one, then use the above rolls (+1 to hit and damage) in round 2 after takeing a 5ft step to get within striking range

DM of the coins |

the brown did not move and seem to pose very little threat. Yes double move in difficult terrain. Will sort it out today and move forward. No 5' steps in difficult terrain either. But think i can work it out for the best and possibly in your favor

DM of the coins |

prior to Purple mushrooms moving...
As Conner approaches the first fungus near him it also begins to wail like the other one did. but its wails are cut short as Conner totally severs the thing in two.

Mickey Carver |

Mickey takes a diagonal five foot step in front of the purple shroom and makes a double flaming kick, leaning against his quarter staff.

But the small ball of electricity seems to have a mind of it's own as it swerves to the right.
Meanwhile, Sora cautiously circles around to take Tatsuo's place and snap at the closer mushroom. However, her caution causes her bite to fall short, missing the creature.

Delkaneth "Del" Sargan |

Delkaneth scans the battlefield for a clear shot, but seeing no other alternative hopes his luck holds as he strides forward and strikes at the purple creature closest to him. The axe sinks in with a satisfying thud.

felix...I totally forgot about the misfire chance.. so just this once I'll let it go with no misfire.

Delkaneth "Del" Sargan |

Seeing that only one of the creatures remain, Delkaneth quickly realizes that the rough terrain is going to make it difficult for him to get over there and assist Conner. A wry smile crosses his face as he realizes that he does not really need to cross the distance at all. Grabbing another axe from his belt the young man lets it fly, trusting in his training and luck to guide it true.
The axe turns end over end in the air, flying right over the paladin's shoulder and finally slamming into the fungus.

Tatsuo Arashi |

Tatsuo dashes to the side to get a somewhat better view of the fungus before letting another small jolt of electricity at it. However, the shot only manages to distract Sora as she clambers her way across the purple growth on the ground, causing her to miss biting the one remaining creature.

the combined attack of Conner and Felix the last mushroom explodes and is destroyed.
the tendril's reaching into the water quickly start to shrivel up.
the poison of the fungus was contaminating the water with a rotting disease. it seems that these fungus's were using the water supply to grow more rapidly.
the poison will dissipate over time but the antidote yoiu have can speed the process as it seems doubtful the Dryad and her tree will live long enough for a natural dilution.
the DC is only 10 so it can be made untrained

Delkaneth "Del" Sargan |

Know (Dungeon): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Delkaneth gives an approving nod as the last of the creatures falls to the watery floor. He moves around the chamber to retrieve his thrown axes, bringing the first one to his nose for a sniff.
"These waters were making these foul things grow quickly, but they were poisoning it in the process. Things will return to normal eventually......but I don't think Melina and her tree can wait that long. Hopefully the antidote will do the trick."
The young man returns the axes to his belt before scanning the rest of the cave for anything else of note.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 to poorly search the room
