Tatsuo Arashi |

Tatsuo points a finger to try to zap the frog.
Ray of Frost -> Electricity
Ranged touch: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 3 - 4 = 4
But the spark misses, harmlessly hitting the ground before the creature.
Sora meanwhile reaches out her long neck to bite at the foul beast.
To hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
But her jaws only close on open air.

The combined attacks of the group leaves the visible frog a mangled mess barely enough left to salvage edible frog legs for dinner. but not to fear for leaping out of the water is another frog as it strikes at Conner.

Conner fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
the frog's slimy mouth engulfs Conner and he soon starts to feel some sort of paralytic poison absorb through his skin, but hi strong constitution prevents it from having any effect.

Seems like a good time to be online. I'll stick around and see what happens

DM of the coins |

mickey, take it now, but the new frog appearing will happen after your action so you will get to act again after the frog appears.

Mickey Carver |

Knowing the frogs are poison, Mickey waves Premi and Reeves back.
He steps up to the pond, around Yaro, but seeing the frog now easily dead, he doesn't attack it.
That's first action. Of someone could move me to the spotto the left of where the live frog is now, that would be wonderful.
A new frog hops up and he takes a couple swings at it with his quarterstaff.
1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 - 1 = 7
1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 3 - 1 = 14
He takes two swings, both of which miss...

Tatsuo Arashi |

Hearing Letha's warning, Tatsuo repositions himself and prepares to strike, should the other frog be stupid enough to show itself while its companion still lives.
Move action and then readied action to cast Burning/Electric Hands as soon as there are at least 2 living frogs in that pool area. Since I'm not actually sure how electricity + this pool of water would work, I am just going to assume that the pool doesn't conduct electricity.
Sora likewise repositions herself, snapping at the still living frog.
To Hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Her fangs sink into the creature with a satisfying crunch. When she withdraws her head, her sharp teeth glisten is what appears to be a menacing smile. It's almost as if she's saying, Now that's how you bite someone.

Jaroslav Robertovich Nadmieny |

Yaro pauses to see if the pool's surface breaks again. If a frog appears he fires another elemental ray down its spiked maw.
to hit: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Going wildly above the beast and doing nothing.

DM of the coins |

Sorry bout the delay wanted to be sure all had a chance and me being a little lazy (no excuses really)
Sora takes a nasty bite on the frog leaveing it severly wounded but alive.
Sora feels sudden burning sensation as the frog's blood mixes with the frog's saliva but it soon passes with no other effect.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
1d2 ⇒ 1
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
In desperation, or perhaps hunger the wounded frog tries to grab Mickey into the water
The frog is able to get a bite on Mickey and the wound seems to burn leaving Mickey a little weakened.
Mickey 1 point damage, and 1 point con damage from the poison
the third frog leaps from the water in an attempt to get at Yaro. just barely getting a hold of his arm. and yaro feels the burning sensation at the site of the bite, but he too manages to fend off the weak poison.
Yaro 1 point damage, no poison
Party ---Go -- and make frog legs for dinner...

Special DM perogative, Mickey, those nat 1's are not fumbles. I know the feeling...

Tatsuo Arashi |

Now that there are two frogs in the pool area, that triggers Tatsuo's readied action. Which I definitely said I was doing this time.
When the second frog appears, electricity swirls briefly around Tatsuo's hands before arcing out to hit both of the frogs.
Electricity: 2d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 + 1 = 11
DC 17 Reflex for 1/2
+1 caster level tattoo
+2 draconic bloodline
+1 elemental pupil
On her next turn, Sora will try to bite the newly appeared frog.
To Hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Sora takes another chomp out of the now slightly crispy frog. She licks her lips as if to say, Mmmmm, tasty.
If there are still 2 frogs alive when it gets to his turn, Tatsuo will cast Burning/Electric hands again. Otherwise he'll cast Ray of Frost/Electricity on the remaining frog.
If there are 2 frogs: 2d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4, 1) + 2 + 1 = 8
To Hit if only 1 frog: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Electricity damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
+1 draconic bloodline

"Aaayarrgh!!" The beastie is having me for lunch!" Frost covers one of Jaro's panicked hands and he flails out at the frog who bit him.
Wintery Touch at frog touch attack: 1d20 ⇒ 6 damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
managing to create a pleasant cool breeze across the frog's brow.

DM of the coins |

OK I made a mistake on the frogs. that will teach me from trying to post from work when I don't have access to the map. The frog could not have attacked Yaro there are no openings for movement.
Which does not matter anyway with the electrical attack from tat as a readied action that kills both living frogs.
yaro you are not damaged.

Jaroslav Robertovich Nadmieny |

"I can be giving it a try."
Survival check to harvest poison from frogs
frog 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
frog 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
frog 3: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
assuming its possible Jaroslav makes a mess of the first frog, but that experiment behind him, finds the poison glands of the other two.

DM of the coins |

less than 10: 1d100 ⇒ 39
Yaro, you manage to salvage 2 doses of poisonous frog poison.
Injury; save Fort DC 12; frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; effect 1d2 Con damage; cure 1 save
This room that the frogs were in still smells of Lichen and fungus the water is stagnant and murky brown in color.
It appears this room was once a wine cellar, wine racks line the southern and eastern walls most of the wine bottles are broken.
you find 2 bottles of very old fine wine.
among the broken wine bottles there appears to be an old parchment with writting on it, it looks like it was torn from a journal book.

Tatsuo Arashi |

Sora cranes her neck to look around the area with Tatsuo helpfully holding up the glowing globe for illumination.
Sora Percep: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Tat Aid: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Sora sniffs at some bottles with interest before scratching at a piece of parchment. Tatsuo points the wine out to the others, mentioning that it might be valuable, before starting to read from the parchment Sora found.
" 'I have grown weary of my imprisonment. I have no food. I drink from a dirty pool seeping through the floor. Is this how your precious baron treats his love? My brothers are dead, and soon I will join them. Will anyone remember me?' "
Tatsuo frowns at the words. "Between the notes we've so far found and that message scrawled in what looked like blood at the entrance, it would not surprise me if we met one rather...annoyed spirit of the baron's fiancee. Hopefully she would be sane enough to reason with, otherwise we might be in some trouble."
While he's at it, may as well detect magic.

DM of the coins |

OK where to next? you have the tunnel that was made by some creature, and the hallway by *8 on the map

![]() |

Unless stopped, Letha carefully tests the water to see how deep it is. If she can keep her head above water while standing in the square, she'll look around for any items or other peculiar things in the water, feeling with her bow and her limbs, and taking a look underwater.

Tatsuo Arashi |

As his comrades look about the room, Tatsuo returns to the tunnel, obviously concerned about whatever creature may have made it. He holds a lamp for Sora to look down the tunnel.
Sora Percep: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Tat Aid: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 I believe this makes Sora's check 15
Also, it looks like from the map that the tunnel quickly becomes too narrow to travel through. Is that correct?

DM of the coins |

OK I would like to try and ressurect this, hopefully people are still around
Tatsuo, the tunnel to the north practically dead ends. (most likely collapsed)
The tunnel south does indeed narrow but remains passable for the extent of you vision.
Mickey has enough frog meat for 2 days rations.
Letha, You discover that the water is only about 3-4 feet deep. the floor apparently has sunken down and ground water seeped in through the cracks. the cracks appear that they allowed the frogs to enter back when they were just tiny tadpoles passage by anything larger that that is impossible.

Tatsuo Arashi |

It's easy to be still around when you put these things on an RSS feed. :-)
Tatsuo turns to Sora, placing a gentle hand on her shiny scales. "Why don't you go check it out? I'll back you up."
Sora walks into the tunnel with Tatsuo close behind, still carrying the orb. Do we need escape artist checks?
Sora: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Aid: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

DM of the coins |

before you do that, If you recall when you first checked out these tunnels (before the frogs) thre were noises coming from the southern tunnel. but you were not able to identify what they were.

Tatsuo Arashi |

Actually, I can't recall that because I never knew it. I'm assuming that was what was under that spoiler that I didn't read because my perception roll sucked. And that nobody bothered to say anything about. Unless we now notice it? Although Tatsuo is planning on casting grease on Sora if it looks like it will be a tight squeeze (and in which case he'd stay on one side while she goes through), so hopefully we could quickly run away.

Tatsuo Arashi |

So I guess we're all going into the tunnel and what lies beyond. Since Tatsuo has no particular reason to think that this is a bad idea, and he doesn't want something sneaking up on him from behind.

DM of the coins |

sorry all, been a bit distracted with work and now Easter holiday, but I am working on the map for the tunnel right now. and will have this going again tonight

DM of the coins |

Sora stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Sora squeeze his way through the narrow tunnel, it is tight but not unmanageable. The tunnel continues straight for a good distance, possibly 80 to 100 feet before opening up to a damp cavern.
an underground river runs through the cavern from the slightly raised southern end, and disappearing into a hole in the northern wall.
The river gurgles on its course, and an odd smell tinges the air. A small log bridge spans the water. and a flickering campfire is visible near the eastern end of the cave, and shadows dance along the wall.
Before Sora is able to get any better look the creatures casting the shadows have noticed Sora.
there are 4 lizard like humanoids in here armed with Javelins and crude looking morningstars each also carries a small wooden shield.
they grab their weapons to get ready for an attack. two of them go to the river's edge with Javelin in hand waiting for a clear shot.
Sora can engage now or report back,

Tatsuo Arashi |

Sora scuttles back to retrieve everybody and inform them of the 4 lizards and underground river they were hanging out by.
Tatsuo will try to back out of the tunnel and wait to ambush the lizardfolk if they follow Sora. If they don't come out in, say, 10 minutes, he and Sora will try to sneak in and see if they can listen in, Tatsuo dropping his bag about 20ft from the cavern. In the likely event they they're spotted, he will attempt to talk to them in Common and then Draconic.
Appropriate skill modifiers for whatever roll is needed:
Tatsuo: Stealth 3, Diplomacy 4, Init 7
Sora: Stealth 6, Init 3 supposing she doesn't go on my initiative

Tatsuo Arashi |

I guess Tatsuo and Sora are sneaking in while prone.
Tatsuo: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Sora: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

DM of the coins |

the tunnel is a tight squeeze but you don't have to crawl through. Size small can get through easily, while medium will have to squeeze and large+ will not make it at all.
1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 1 + 2 = 23
1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 2 = 4
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
the lizard folf are speaking in Draconic as tatsuo and Sora sneak in
first spoileris for them. second spoiler is for all.
I know I heard something, I think the beast is coming back
Don't be an idiot, you put your spear right in its eye, it won't be back.
What if its that witch and her brothers? another says
dummy, They died years ago, trapped in that human made tunnel
I heard that witches turn into zombies when they die.
at this point one of the ones by the river turns and looks in your direction
there's that sound again, I tell ya, that beast wants another go at us
You want another spear in your other eye?, come on out and face the blackscale clan!
the Lizardfolk doing the yelling has a javelin ready to throw in your direction. the second one by the river is also ready but he cannot seem to pinpoint where you are located. the ones by the campfire are out of sight right now but you can hear them and know they are there.

Tatsuo Arashi |

From his prone position, Tatsuo mumbles something and moves his fingers slightly, pointing at the two lizardfolk.
Tatsuo casts message, pointing at the lizardfolk that he can see.
Hopefully this will be enough so they can't find our location. He whispers softly to them, trying to make his voice calm and yet eerily haunting.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Out of nowhere, what appear to be four will-o-wisps appear in the air above, swirling and dancing around each other.
Tatsuo is using dancing lights to create the will-o-wisp looking lights.

DM of the coins |

1d20 ⇒ 4
1d20 ⇒ 17
The lizard folk by the river look around confused. when the will-o-wisps appear one of the Lizard folk lowers his guard. while the second one grabs his companion.
Don't believe it, theuy can't be real
he then yells out hoping that whoever else is nearby hears
Show yourself, We will talk, we know you are not the creature.
the one that is facinated by the will-o-wisps, just goes to approach them.
