Gallix moves into the room and stands beside his non-creepy bald friend

Just admit it, it's serving its purpose, when even the allies are frightened.

Mr. Peppers thinks he's wise to choose force missiles, as not even water can slow them down, but the mass of eels functions more like a swarm with no discernible anatomy, and his force missiles do little more than pelt them.

Uesugi's blade slices some eels in half, while D.Arth finds that his blast is slowed by the water and causes little more than a gentle wave by the time it reaches the creature.

Though the creature is blinded, it seems to be able to sense where Uesugi is. Blindsight Its eels curl and extend to form razor sharp teeth and stony, firm fists!

The eels on its face seem to curl into a wicked grin as two hits land, and when Gallix approaches, the creature reaches out to punch him. Its fists have a 10 foot reach

Mr Peppers jaw drops open for a moment before slamming it shut once more NIFTY TRICK YOU SLIMY BASTARD! After a moment he recovers his composure and goes another route.

"Very clever.. and immune to electricity.. I guess this is my best option now." He steps in front of Miss Cup to get a better view of everyone inside the room. He weaves his hands and speaks those Elven words he learned not so long ago. Little balls of light spread to himself and his allies who are now noticeably moving faster.

Move and Haste everyone. My damage options are pretty nil with no lightning or magic missile and didn't prepare fire spells... hack n slash go go go!

Sirettis seems to screech in a way that only the mass of eels can hear.

Sirettis finds that her spell is just as ineffective as Mr. Peppers' magic missiles, likely owing to it targeting a single creature.

I'm casting Unadulterated Loathing on the eel man. If it fails a DC 18 Will Save, it is repulsed by Uesugi and will stay 60 feet from him at all times or be nauseated.

"Get away from it, you beautiful bald idiot!" Gallix shouts in horror as his friend gets pummeled by the swirling mass of eels. Without hesitation, the brawler unleashes a barrage of slashes at the creature.

He swims into the room, drawing out his little healing stick as he goes, swimming right past the reach of those long eel arms and praying to Nethys to make the wand work correctly. Trigger AOO by movement if he's got any left

Uesugi and Gallix double team the mass of eels, while D.Arth's luck finally improves and he blasts a hole through the creature. Unfortunately, it's immune to critical hits.

Mr. Peppers gets bitten on his way by, and then every eel the creature is composed of suddenly vomits up a bolus, disgusted by Uesugi's appearance. It uses its turn to move far away from Uesugi!

This provokes from Gallix, Uesugi, and Sirettis if she's using her magical hair.

Sirettis is not ready as the bundle of eels swims past her. "It finds Uesugi repulsive and will try to run away from him. Stay close to him, Uesugi!" Sirettis swims after the eel mass. No hair, no AoO from Sirettis.

Watching it enter a room, she points as far into the room she can see. "Ice and sleet! Bombard this creation and slow its movements!"

Sirettis casts Ice Storm. It's a 20 foot radius blast, but the walls should constrain the blast. I drew an outline of the squares that should be hit.

The hail bludgeons for 3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 6) = 17 damage and deals 2d6 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6 cold damage. No save, but SR applies. Half Bludgeoning damage since we're underwater. This is an AoE, so it takes 50% extra damage if it's a swarm, so I think that's 12 Bludgeon and 9 Cold total.

I finally got to cast this spell! Yay!

Mr Peppers watches the strange spell being slung by his favorite crazy haired slyph (currently sea elf, even better!), his expression turns from curiosity, to hopefulness, and finally to sheer excitement as he sees it work.

With a slight fistpump and a feeble kick with his flippered foot, he watches the creature swim away, tapping Uesugi yet again with his healing wand.

There is no force on earth more terrifying than an enraged gnome going after the eel man who hurt her friend. "Oh no you don't! You don't get away after hurting Uesugi like that!"

She shoves that long spear right into the eelman and twists!

Cup skewers a whole section of the eelman with her longspear, and then Sirettis flash freezes the section of water the Galvo ran to, and it stops moving. As it thaws from the head down like that boss from Mega Man 2, each eel disintegrates into the water, and a calmness falls over the cleansed room.

Out of combat!

Back in the main chamber, Aquel notices your success, and raises her weapon triumphantly. "Truly you are mortals of noble purpose. Not only have you cleansed the corruption in the shell, but you also showed great respect for the temple and restored some of its former glory. I freely give you all the treasures that were entrusted to me."

With two cracks of her morningstar, Aquel shatters the entire pillar, revealing both The Breath of Lysianassa and a sealed chest. Inside the chest are a fist-sized translucent egg and four golden seashells engraved with scripture. Pointing at the egg, Aquel continues. "That is the last living offspring of Riam. You may do whatever you wish with the shells, but please take utmost care of the egg. It is possible to channel energy from the Plane of Water directly into it in hopes that it may one day hatch." She begins to explain the ritual.

Anyone can attempt the ritual with Kn (Arcana, Planes, or Religion) DC 22. However, Dark Archive members can also channel some of the energy into Zarta Dralneen's ritual with a DC 24 check (Same knowledges).

Did someone say... Knowledge PLANES?

Cup bounces with excitement and claps. "Oh, I would love to do that ritual! Thank you Aquel!"

Cup concentrates, thinking of the fluid nature of the Plane of water, and croons to the beautiful, beautiful egg of Riam.

"Thank you so much for your gifts." SIrettis realizes it's extremely difficult to curtsy underwater. "Shall we try to infuse the egg? Mister Peppers and Miss Poshkettle are better at this then I am, so I shall assist."

Not wanting to be shown up by 'the gnome', Mr Peppers grits his teeth and works his own ARCANE magic.. non of the planar mumbo-jumbo.

His face sinks when he gets the movements incorrect and nothing of note happens. Well that was embarrassing...

Cup focuses on the planar energies she's so familiar with and draws them into the egg, diverting a portion for the Dark Archive's purposes. Mr. Peppers tries to join in on the fun and the egg shudders violently as he fails in doing so, Aquel giving him a look of admonishment as he does so.

In the end, the ritual succeeds, and the egg already looks as if its grown. Cup deduces that the egg should hatch within three months.

Then, a pained expression suddenly passes over Aquel’s face. She touches her hand to the shell and closes her eyes to concentrate.

After a moment, she speaks, "You are betrayed. Razethka, your brine dragon companion, has killed the maridar that brought you here. Now that Zemdar is dead, she has rallied the sahuagin of this shell under her rule. She has hostages and is waiting to ambush you in the coral gardens outside."

She holds out her morningstar for someone to take. "This is Thundergale. It may serve you in your fight just as it has served me. Please, take it."

Auto spellcraft Peppers determines that it's a +2 shock morningstar

Please prepare as best you can. You'll be fighting a dragon.

It's been a while. Last dragon i faught, was in a module. Darn bugger was a CR 11 i think. Lvl 8 party struggled, but won. Some close calls there.

"Betrayal huh. A dragon's head as a wall trophy, i like the sound of that."

Sirettis heals Mister Peppers and Longjing's wounds. "That is... very upsetting to hear.

"Are Brine Dragons vulnerable to electricity?" She ponders. "Are they immune to magical slumber?"

"If I cannot affect the dragon, I will focus on calming the Sahaugin. We must end this, now."

Sirettis could wield the morningstar, but let's be honest here. If I can I'll try to slumber the dragon twice.

Sirettis lets her hair flow as they leave the temple and prepare to fight a dragon.

Mr Peppers shrugs his shoulders a bit at Aquel's dirty looks "What can I say, some of us are better suited than others at hatching eggs. There's nothing wrong with that."

When the news breaks of the impending ambush Mr Peppers gets quite nervous "Fight a dragon? Underwater? The same dragon that has allowed us to breath freely on the way here and won't be providing the same for the hopeful trip back? I must think on this..."

Save the charge on me Sirettis, the AOO only took off my temp HP from false life.

Uesugi bows to Aquel. "We will protect the egg and remove the traitor from these waters. I will keep my blade it has never let me down. If we are to face this traitor and the sahaugin then Peppers use the wu jen stick to increase my size. What do we know of the brine dragon Mr. Peppers and Madame Poshkettle? Now what resources do we have left to use in this upcoming battle?"

“Curse Razethka’s sudden yet inevitable betrayal of us!” Cup states. Looking over the thunderous morningstar, Cup asks Aquel, “Thank you for this gift. Do you believe that this weapon might be especially effective against Razethka or her minions?”

What does Cup know of Brine Dragons, other than that they are planar denizens?

“I do think that we wish to be buffed — quite literally — to the gills. Good hope and Inspire Courage are a must. We need to throw everything we have at her. Unfortunately, she will be buffed as well!”

”Hmm...morningstars really aren’t my style, but I guess I can give it a swing or two. Thanks!” With a shrug, Gallix steps toward the otherworldly guardian and takes the weapon. He holds it out in front of himself, getting a feel for the weight of the thing, then gives it a few test swings. ”Hey, not bad! This could be fun!”

Unfortunately, I don’t have any items to help provide buffs, but I do have a couple boons I can use to give myself a bit of a boost once we get into the fight.

"Fighting a dragon... isn't what I expected on this trip. If I had I'd have saved more of my power. At least we have some wands to help and the like."

Guess I'll wait on plans more until we know about our knowledge roll results.

"Not any more effective than this man's katana, I'm afraid," Aquel says, looking at Uesugi. "However, I do possess magic that may aid you in your fight. If you wish for it to be cast on you, simply say the word."

Aquel is willing to cast Aid on any of you. Keep in mind that it is a morale bonus, but will also provide temp. HP

Cup knows that brine dragons are tough. They have DR/magic and resist spells quite adequately. Mr. Peppers also knows that they are immune to acid, paralysis, and ... sleep.

DC would've been 25, but this fight's going to be tough so I shared an extra tidbit so Sirettis doesn't waste a turn.

Regulators mount up!!! It's time to ride!

Cup casts mirror image on herself and Longjing. “Pep, can you renew the Mage Armor spell on Longjing?”

As they move out, Cup thinks back to another epic fight, long before.

Using one of my chronicle boons to recall a spell that I cast previously, namely Good Hope.

Filled with new resolve, she casts Good Hope once more and starts to sing as they move out.

You exit back into the main hallway and out towards the entrance area with the murals and coral screens. There's no sign of Razethka, but tied to the Throne of the Deep with seaweed ropes are two maridar and Zahra. A group of sharks circles the hostages relentlessly, under the watchful eye of two sahuagin. Lines of shark bites dot Zahra's arm.

"Zemdar's dead, and I've declared this temple ... My own!" The red-scaled sahuagin gloats, prodding at a maridar with his trident.

One of the sharks picks up on your scent and turns to face the entryway, alerting the sahuagin. "Oh? Is someone there? Is it the Pathfinder Society, here to save the day? Look at me - I'm a Pathfinder! I find relics, travel to other planes, and save the world!" He mocks. "What a joke. Let's see you save HER!" He taunts, his trident pointed at Zahra. Still, no sign of Razethka.

Longjing gets a trident to his underside as he harries the sahuagin. Uesugi moves up and chops at the black sahuagin, who finds himself shaken from the attack. "Bah! W-What's a human doing underwater anyway?"

Then, something stirs in the water. The strange outline previously behind the wall moves ahead, and as a thick, black jet of acid streams towards Uesugi's chest, the brine dragon, Razethka, appears.
