Yes all is dark on the warehouse front. I was about to buff my mage armor when I realized you said it hadn't even been an hour yet so the last one is still rolling.

![]() |

As he peeks from the corner, Acelyn immediately notices the southwest door opening, followed by some more voices. "A spider infestation? S%@~, we've gotta check the shipment. That is, if this isn't just some clever decoy. Be ready, Dez." The woman draws a quarterstaff and the man draws a small sword, leading the way.
Their locations are on the map.
--
As that's happening, two others run up to where the arcane locked door is. They attempt to unlock the secret door, but are immediately stopped by the magical lock.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 Not with that arcane lock
"WHATTTT in the world is thisssss??!" A bald-headed man shouts, reaching his arm back and punching it as hard as he can. His fist bounces back off the door. "OW, OW, OW!!!" He shakes his bruised hand a few times as he quivers in pain.
"Hmm. Magic," his companion, a very calm woman says as she examines the door handle.
They're also on the map. Okay, you definitely have the drop on both groups if you want to go for it.

Sirettis prepares to use her Slumber Hex on the first person to walk through the southern door.

![]() |

Begrilda simply nods along as the others lead her into the cage and shut her in, afraid that, if she begins to reason out her decision, she will end up talking herself out of it. She's not adventurer. Only a few days ago she was just an attendant at Bolka's shrine, praying for a husband to come to her. She had met Gallix, though, and everything had changed. When she had proposed and he had accepted, she knew her life was about to change, but this was not what she had expected. She had envisioned...far less violence. And certainly no sewers.
Begrilda's recollections are interrupted, however, by the sounds of unfamiliar voices and of people trying to force entry into the warehouse. She begins preparing herself to dispatch her command, keeping an eye out for who the strongest warrior would be, and who might be the most susceptible to her charms. Before she could do anything of the sort, however, she needed them to get closer. "Hello! Is somebody there," she calls out. "Please, I need help. Some thieves broke in here, chased off my friends, and locked me up in this cage. Please help!" Oh, I hope that was convincing!
Bluff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

![]() |

The group coming from the south perks up as they hear Begrilda's voice. "Baws, ya hear that? Someone's here. Let's check it out."
He begins to move through the door, and the light immediately illuminates Acelyn.
At which point, Slumber Hex is going to go off, but Mr. Peppers, if you want to try to activate that thunderstone, let me know.
--
The two at the top also hear the voice and run around the building towards the destroyed loading door.

![]() |

Bishop hearing the door open runs towards the southern door hoping that things go as planned.

![]() |

Let's have everyone roll Initiative. Updates to follow tomorrow as the grand Aspis battle commences. :)

![]() |

Damn that's a terrible place for Ace to be lol. Maybe he'll come on and go back about moving his character once people starting coming in down there.. he is ranged and all. Bad place to be for him.
Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

![]() |

I wake up and boom, 18 posts in here, some less but about a dozen in discussion. :)
Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

![]() |

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Sirettis puts her finger up to her lips and stares at the first person.

![]() |

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 [ooc]Well, that somehow seems appropriate... I did move Ace to a more suitable location, given the chain of events.[/dice]
Ace hears the noises in the office and sees his friends take up positions, so he moves to a better vantage point and levels his crossbow at the southern door.

![]() |

Will save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
As the dorky human moves towards the door, Sirettis glares at him, attempting to send him to sleep. He whispers behind him, "I'm feelin' kinda tired. Sumthin's going on." And just as he says that, the light from his companion's armor reflects off Sirettis and Acelyn. "Baws, I SEE 'EM!! GET IN HERE!"
Dez, green: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Zatah, red: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Bogin, blue: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Shia, pink: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Dez, the one who noticed you, rushes at Acelyn and stabs at him with his sword.
Short sword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 171d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Sneak attack: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Your bar says 8 hp but I'm pretty sure you were full given that you slept last night
Aspis Warehouse Defense, Round 1
Sirettis, Mr. Peppers, and Begrilda are up
Zatah (red)
Bishop
Bogin (blue)
D, Ace (-9)
Shia (pink)

![]() |

Seeing the first man rush at and stab Ace, Mr Peppers decides its time to act. He quietly casts his spell
and flicks a finger at the door leading into the guard room, slamming it closed. Mr Peppers crosses his fingers in hopes the thunderstone goes off. He then draws out a well worn wand, staying hidden behind his 'crate wall'.

![]() |

Begrilda gasps in horror as the stranger stabs Acelyn. Her cheeks suddenly redden and her expression grows dark with anger as she calls out at the man, "No! You will not harm Acelyn again. You will strike down your dear 'Baws.'" She pauses for a moment as her holy symbol begins to radiate a soft glow, then adds a quiet, sickly sweet, "Please, dear!"
Cast Murderous Command on Dez. DC 15 Will save or he attacks his nearest ally (I'm assuming that would be his boss).
Also, Peppers used Open/Close to close the latch on the cage. Am I able to get out and what kind of action would I need to take to do so?
Edit after question is answered
Once she has delivered her command to Ace's attacker, she pushes the cage door open and moves away from the action as quickly as she can.

![]() |

I don't believe he locked it (correct me if I'm wrong), so you could simply push it open as part of your move action.

![]() |

Hehe, I couldn't resist messing with the poor woman just a touch. It doesn't lock it, just closed the door.

![]() |

Sirettis frowns as the man passes her. She strokes her hair out, and a mass of hair falls out below her feet. It takes a life of its own and points toward the door.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
She doesn't understand what Mr. Peppers did, but she assumes the door is secure.
Prehensile Hair Hex in use. I have 10 foot reach, and it has 18 Strength.
Hair: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

![]() |

Trap would have worked, but my saves are rolling against you today. Damn Aspis!
Zatah Fort save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
As Mr. Peppers magically shuts the door, the string attached to the thunderstone snaps, sending it tumbling to the ground. The defeaning bang produced fills the room to the southwest, but Zatah is quick to react and covers her ears.
Dez Will save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
"Psh.. I never liked her anyway.." Dez mumbles as he looks back at the door, gripping his sword tightly.
That door flies open as Zatah pushes on it angrily. "Booby trapped the place up, have you? Who are you to have messed with our stuff? No matter, you won't be leaving here tonight." She grins as she holds her Aspis badge up in pride, then mouths a spell and her staff begins glowing.
Zatah casted Shillelagh.
Bishop is up!

![]() |

woohoo about time!!
Bishop raced towards the others complaining in his mind. Should have set myself closer to the guard room! He watches as the first Aspis agent deeply cuts Ace. We should draw first blood! It's our ambush! Quickening his pace he is almost ready to attack the man when he hears Begrilda shout out in anger for the man to attack his 'Baws' and then watches as the man turns his attention to the woman now standing inside the door.
Time to tip the scale is our favour. Thank you Desna. he continues past the man hoping whatever charm the dwarven priestess has cast will make the man ignore him and then flings his dagger at the woman.
Throw dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
"The Kortos Consortium bids you farewell!"

![]() |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
"Shillelagh...beware, her staff hits harder than it seems like should."

![]() |

Unfortunately, Zatah watches the dagger as it flies towards her and twists herself out of the way in time to avoid it. So close
While the two enter from the southwest, their companions are well aware that something is up with all of the noise - especially the exploding thunderstone. "We gotta get to Zatah and Dez and see what's going on! That magic lock really pissed me off! HAAAaaa!" The bald man pushes hard on the crate, sliding it across the floor in front of him.
Double move, he's now in the warehouse
He looks upon Begrilda as he enters, "Well, what do we have here. Hey there, babes, you must be the damsel in distress!" He winks at her suggestively.
D and Ace are up.

![]() |

D. readies a shot for when blue comes over.
If blue doesn't, and heads south, D shoots, albeit at a penalty.
Sand bullet: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
-1 to damage, and -3 to attack roll, if he stays outside of 30 feet range.

![]() |

Ace steps back, reeling from the blow and shaking the blood from his eyes as he shoots his crossbow point blank at Dez.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 = 21
Damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Dez endures a superficial wound from Acelyn's bolt while D prepares an attack.
The fourth agent comes hobbling in behind the bald man. The small half-elven girl, wearing a green cloak surveys the crates and warehouse, looking around curiously. Then, she takes a tube with metal holes from her pack, and with a deep breath, she belts out some inspiration:
♫♬ The Aspis cannot be stopped,
the Aspis cannot be stopped!
A swing from Zatah, a stab from Dez,
A KO uppercut from Bogin, or so he says,
Invade our warehouse and you'll pay the price,
Now raise your weapons, team; slice, and dice! ♫♬
She continues by playing a tune on her flute. Not so thoughtful and silent after all ;)
--
Round 2
"Baws... Y'know.. Why are you in charge anyway? I'm done with you tellin' me what to do!" Dez charges towards Zatah, preparing to attack, and Sirettis whips him with her elongated hair as he passes her, opening up a rather deep chest wound. "Outta my way, hair!"
Dez (-9)
I used Sirettis' rolled AoO. Bishop, take an AoO with your other dagger

![]() |

Bishop almost jumps back as Sirettis' hair lashes out like a serpent in waiting at the ensorcelled man. He wonders if it is better to let him live to attack the woman but knowing that there are more agents on the way he strikes at the man.
AoO dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

![]() |

I sense a ninja post deletion. ;)
Bishop points his dagger at Dez as he charges by, and in his fury and compulsion, Dez fails to defend himself against the attack. The dagger slides into his side and Dez falls to his knees, overcome with pain. "Baws... I'll.. get you..."
Dez is down!
"Hmph. Idiot." Zatah shakes her head as she watches on.
Aspis Warehouse Defense, Round 2
Sirettis, Mr. Peppers, and Begrilda are up
Zatah (red)
Bishop
Bogin (blue)
D, Ace (-9)
Shia (pink)

Mr Peppers hears some singing pick up from the north, the tune is carried decently enough but the subject matter is just plain offensive. Elven halfbreed, my condolences. Makes sense why she ended up with the Aspis.
"Lets see how well you do after this!" He pulls out that thunderstone and lobs it out between the two hostiles to the north. Thunderstone vs Square AC5, Fort Save DC15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 A concussive bang retorts, rattling the ears of those nearby.

![]() |

Well I was hoping to turn Dez against the caster to help us do some damage, but at least it took him off of us so he didn't kill Ace. :)
Begrilda squeaks with fear and shock at the man's suggestive comments and expression. "You'll do no such thing! The Maiden will protect me and will guide my friends as they put you on your back!" She raises her left hand, with the ring encircling her finger, and calls out a blessing to her companions. The ring once again sheds a brilliant light that reaches out to her friends and surrounds them with holy energy.
She then runs away.
Cast Bless (+1 to attack and to saves vs fear), then bug out of there!

![]() |

Red this is my fault but Bishop should be always using his combat expertise since he has a trait that negates the -1 to hit. So if you could put me at AC 18 that would be great. Sorry about that.

![]() |

Sirettis keeps her eyes locked with the woman with the red cloak. Why would you brandish your symbol like that? Pride before a fall. Sirettis's hair undulates like the ocean waves in a slow, hypnotic trance.
Will Save DC 14 to resist. If Zatah fails her save, Sirettis will climb down the boxes and prepare an AoO if she provokes. Otherwise Sirettis will draw her crossbow.
Hair: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

![]() |

Will save, Zatah: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Zatah calms her mind and shakes off the hex, unaffected by the stare. "If that didn't work on Dez, did you really think it'd work on me?" That was Slumber Hex, right?
Fort save, Bogin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Fort save, Shia: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Bogin quickly covers his ears as the stone impacts the ground, but Shia is too focused on her flute and her world suddenly goes quiet as the stone explodes.
Continuing her performance next round will have a 20% chance of failing
Zatah steps past Sirettis' hair and gets whipped in the face, but she carries on towards Bishop as he stands out in the open.
Shillelagh: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 1 = 152d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5, 2) + 3 + 1 = 11
The attack would've been painful, but Bishop slinks his body out of the way.
Bishop is up!

![]() |

If Sirettis is considered threatening I will use an acrobatics check to tumble and roll into a flanking square against Zatah
Bishop flashes his cloak as the woman strikes giving him the distraction he needs to make her misjudge the attack. Once again Sirettis' hair lashes out and strikes the woman in the face. "No doubt that will leave something to remember us by. That is if you live after today." Bishop jumps backs and immediately twists his body and rolls into a flanking position with Sirettis hair. Unfortunately as he rolls back into a better position to attack the woman is waiting. Make your AoO
Trying to slip under her attack he stabs at her only then hearing Mr. Peppers yelling to hold off his attack.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 = 18
damage+sneak: 1d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + (4) = 7
Combat Expertise is perpetually up hehe so AC 18...crap I ll just put it in my AC from now on

![]() |

That acrobatics roll will do it, Bishop. No AoO.
Bishop manages to evade Zatah's attack, and reaches under her arm to drive his dagger up and through a chink in her armor, tearing her flesh open. Blood pours down the blade and onto Bishop's arm and Zatah grabs his hand as she melts to her knees. "You'll pay.. For this.." She releases her grip and falls to the ground.
Zatah is down!
Watching his companion die and realizing the odds are heavily stacked against the Aspis, Bogin angrily charges forward at D. He takes a blow from D's readied sand bullet but continues on and punches D in the face.
Imp U. strike: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 71d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5
... Or tries to, anyway, as his uppercut misses the eastern man widely!
D and Ace are up

![]() |

D. smiles with the look of a yakuza seeing a schoolboy trying to punch him.
"My grandmother can hit better than that, gaijin, and she walks with a cane."
He steps back.
Sand bullet, PBS: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
But his own aim isn't on the spot either.
