I've made my changes. I'll likely save my pennies so I can buy a Blessed Book after this next mission. I should double check that you can use it in PFS....

![]() |

Levelling up is done. Now I have to buy level 5 scrolls and feed them to Isa.
Here are scrolls I am buying and learning:
Investigative Mind (150)
Break Enchantment (1125)
Hold Monster (1125)

Do you realize you can rent a familiar instead of having to use scrolls, Sirettis?
FAQ about learning spells from NPCs.
Then if you look at the Witch Adding Spells to a Witch's Familiar there is this:
Familiar Teaching Familiar: A witch's familiar can learn spells from another witch's familiar. To accomplish this, the familiars must spend one hour per level of the spell being taught in communion with one another. At the end of this time, the witch whose familiar is learning a spell must make a Spellcraft check (DC 15 + spell level). If the check succeeds, the familiar has learned the spell and the witch may utilize it the next time she prepares spells. If the check fails, the familiar has failed to learn the spell and cannot try to learn that spell again until the witch has gained another rank in Spellcraft. Most witches require a spell of equal or greater level in return for this service. If a familiar belongs to a witch that has died, it only retains its knowledge of spells for 24 hours, during which time it is possible to coerce or bribe the familiar into teaching its spells to another, subject to GM discretion.
Renting a familiar will be a lot cheaper!

Haha, oh man, I didn't think about that.
Oh, I need to make Spellcraft checks to learn those level 5 spells. I have a +17 so I automatically learn the level 2 spell.
DC 20: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21
DC 20: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26

New game to start once the boards are stable for at least a day...

![]() |

Seems like we're making progress in that direction! We've been up for several hours at this point!
Gallix is all leveled up btw

![]() |

If the boards are still up tomorrow, I intend to start our next game then.
D & Uesugi, can you put those bald heads together and level up?
*Hides from the CDG*

![]() |

Ok ok ok...I know where you live don't let me bring my shinai to your place and give you a beat down!

![]() |

Im not purchasing anything will level up at work. Red send me the chronicle sheet pls.

![]() |

@GM Red: Could you please add a link to the briefing in your profile? The Red Arm thread is very long at this point, so going back and finding it can be problematic.
I have a different campaign doing something similar and have found adding a link to the briefing was very helpful there.

![]() |

We've got a bit of a growing predicament here. I'm pretty doubtful that we will be able to complete this scenario before the special starts (Oct 2nd). I don't want to rush through it since it's a pretty interesting adventure, and skipping over things for the sake of completing will take a lot of fun away for you guys and myself.
Two options. 1) We don't do the special. 2) We abort this mission, I don't give out chronicles and I see if Hmm will let us resume it where we left off.

![]() |

I would like to participate in the special, but does this mean we failed the mission, or do we pretend it didn't happen?

![]() |

I'll go with whatever the group decides. I would like to do the special if possible. The Red Arm does specials!

![]() |

Our good VC Hmm has agreed to let us abort this mission with no consequences, take a 2 week-ish break and then start on the special. Once done, she says we can also pick up where we left off with Koor.
Sound good?

After defeating the treasure golem, the Coolest Party Van Ever (TM) burst through the wall and took the party to a tropical vacation for the next two weeks, all expenses paid.
Sirettis dressed her hair like a wide-brimmed straw hat to avoid sunburn and stay in the shade.

![]() |

Man, those impromptu vacations will be so much easier to take once I get teleport...
Sounds good. Better help Gallix gather up some more beer money before we leave.

![]() |

Sounds good!
That also means I can apply the GM credit I got just after this started, giving Stali a bit more money.

![]() |

Who needs beer money? I can drink for free at Cayden's Hall!
No, I already told the golem what I was going to use that money for. I'mma buy a house with that dude's remains!

RTEP engaged!

I'll be updating again soon, but this preparation part finishes tomorrow.
To get a head start on decision-making, there are a choice of faction-themed missions coming up with these as categories:
1. Dark Archive Mission -> Puzzle
2. The Exchange -> Intrigue
3. Grand Lodge -> Scouting & Speed
4. Liberty's Edge -> Investigation
5. Scarab Sages -> Ancient mystery
6. Silver Crusade -> Divine mystery
7. Sovereign Court -> Persuasion
All of them offer challenges for combat-based PCs too. How about we choose the first one, or first three to tackle, so that we can get right into it tomorrow?

![]() |

Stali is with The Exchange, so he would want to do that one.
The Grand Lodge, Scarab Sage and Sovereign Court missions are all worth doing.
We want as many of them unlocked as we can get.

![]() |

I'd vote Exchange (since I'm nominally a member), then Grand Lodge, then Scarab Sages.

![]() |

On another note, while Gallix is running around the city, he's going to buy himself the following:
Masterwork composite longbow +4
10 arrows
10 cold iron arrows
10 alchemical silver arrows
For his piece of bane ammo, he will select an evil outsider bane arrow.

![]() |

A MW darkwood composite longbow +3 is just 2PP if you want to save $$ fyi.
Mr Peppers will pick up an undead bane arrow and give it to Gallix.
Undead or evil outsider likely being the most useful choices. Maybe everyone else can conspire with Stali and Sugi on suitable choices for arrows for them... in case we run into ewww bad melee or ewww flying.

![]() |

You know I'm going to suggest the Sovereign Court. I don't really care afterward.

![]() |

Sounds like we want to do the Sovereign Court and then The Exchange mission’s first. After that, we should probably wait to see what missions haven’t closed.

![]() |

Thanks guys. This really helps as I can start writing up some of the posts for those first two missions.

![]() |

If you haven't already, can you guys select your 3rd level potion? It needs to be chosen before we get into the missions.
