Hmm do you sing at your live tables too? You must be a pretty awesome GM out there in Minny! Nice song for bad villain!
| GM Hmm |
At live tables I've usually limited such songs to short, snappy verses or choruses. So a sample Harpy chorus would be:
♫ Many times I've sung to prey
And many times they've died
I like to call them near
And open my mouth wi-i-ide ♫
Something short, funny and easily recognizable when I sung the tune. (The above is a bit from the Beatles Long and Winding Road.)

Ha great song Hmm! Great flavor adds to your games. You should start up your own Red Arm game and sing to some of our characters. Luurg would totally sing along.

Haha, nice one, Hmm. The songs definitely add both a personal touch and some extra personality to NPCs. :)
I think I'd feel too silly singing at a table in real life... Hehe. I should try it the next time I run my group, and shock my players... Hmmmm....

Great ideas so far guys, love it.
I'm running my Roll20 group for most of the morning/afternoon, and I also want to give Gallix/Begrilda a chance to post his ideas, so you'll not see too much activity for the first half of the day.

Hey Red, I love the little cubes you used! May I steal them for my warehouse?
Oh, and I finally got to do the Harpy Queen song. Now I don't care anymore if she gets shredded like a down pillow in a slumber party fight... We had our musical number and I'm happy.
Hmm

That was actually all Uesugi/Bishop's work! It was a great idea. I'm sure he won't mind you doing the same thing.
| GM Hmm |
♫ We’re not done, we’re not through
I look forward to eating all of you
Harpies rise, heroes fall
This is my party and my ball
And when push comes to shove
I’ll blast you all to pieces while cackling madly from above
La da da dat da dat da da da da ya da
Da da dat dat da ya da!
La da da dat da dat da da da da ya da
Da da dat dat da ya da! ♫

Cheers to sharing ideas between our games :) And your song, of course!
Team, it looks like you're more or less ready so I'm going to have the next part up once I get home from work, a few hours from now.

Guys, our #1 fan and famous lyricist Hmm has asked me if she can join us as a seventh player in our next adventure. I told her we'd be glad to have her. What do you guys think?

So long as she sings at least once.. no make that twice before the end of the adventure. She doesn't need to actually have singing ranks or ability though.
| GM Hmm |
I was thinking of making a bard for this group... Not sure of what type yet. But it would have inspire courage and bardic knowledge. And it would of course sing.
I have a bunch of GM babies with a varying amount of chronicles on them. Y'all are still level 1 or will you be level 2 with the next one?
Hmm
Mr. Peppers
|
I think most of us will be level 2, some already are, and I 'think' others are bringing back their characters from the Sky Key for the next one? And probably will be 2 by then... I think....
GM Red
|
Just looking at their profiles, Uesugi will still be 1 XP away from level 2, as will Gallix.
If we're running Gallows of Madness as earlier discussed, seven players will make it incredibly easy.
It's designed for four, but it does have level 2 adjustments.
I would think seven PCs at level 1 with the level 2 adjustment would probably be about right, or we could have a mixed party of level 1s and 2s. I need to go read over the rules to see what I'm allowed to adjust and such. Steamrolling is no fun ;)
GM Red
|
When running Gallows of Madness, calculate your group’s APL. If their APL is 2 or greater, apply the scaling adjustments for 2nd-level characters found at the end of each chapter.
So we'll simply go with that. :)
Sirettis
|
Bring on the Bard, Hmm! Easily one of my favorite classes.
Mr. Peppers
|
I can't say I've played a Pathfinder Bard.. been a long long time since I've played one. A big fan of their skills though!
| GM Hmm |
Remember that if you plan to run all three.... you can do Campaign Mode! I heart Campaign Mode! You can make adjustments as needed!
So the bard types I am currently considering are:
Mr. Peppers
|
Well, if you have no issues arguing with party members, Mr Peppers has a hatred of Gnomes that would spur some 'interesting' conversations.
Bishop 'The Dark Augur'
|
Gallix and Uesugi will be 2 should we survive. Think we are about halfway through at the moment. definitely would love to have Hmm. If necessary I'll play Bishop again steamrolling is definitely not fun.
Gorgeous Gallix Granbonne
|
Gallix is currently on his second mission ever, so he'll need one more to hit level 2. I'm definitely okay with playing up though. Goes along with his character for sure.
GM Red
|
Yup. 3 scenarios = 3 XP = 1 level :)
@Hmm, for Campaign mode, how will the chronicles work? Are the players awarded them after each chapter, or after the whole thing?
If the latter, then how will level progression work?
GM Red
|
You mean each chapter will be a level, right?
Plus, there's a fourth chronicle sheet for completing the whole thing!
How exciting :)
Mr. Peppers
|
Mostly I decided when I made him it was one of his character quirks. An arcane focused Elf that has spent decades of his adult life (and a fair bit of his adolescence) focused and studying, missing out on other fun social activities in the pursuit of mastering the arcane. He's pretty proud and excited to begin learning the arts (level 0 and starting level 1s) when he comes across some Gnome children throwing around these spells he's spent decades learning. Jealousy sets in and a hatred develops for all races with innate arcane spell casting ability... and Gnomes started it all. (Elves to me just seem damn broody.. especially this avatar...)
Sir D. Arthraven
|
When D. hits 3rd lvl with the 2nd chronicle, i'll switch in something else.
I have a nagaji of which i've not yet determined what to make, and i was thinking of a bolt ace tengu, wielding a hand crossbow, or making something whacky instead.
GM Red
|
I must say, I love the spider exterminator idea!
And you did a great job of bluffing your way through it, too :)
Bishop 'The Dark Augur'
|
No need to spill unnecessary blood wouldn't want to upset Begrilda. Bishop will no doubt be pulling her along on some other adventure soon enough so he has to be on his best behaviour!
Bishop 'The Dark Augur'
|
lol it was very SWAT teamesque. Was surprised they didn't throw some thunderstones or smokesticks hehe
Sirettis
|
The entrance was so organized I totally thought they were Aspis.
Bishop 'The Dark Augur'
|
That fight would have been very interesting to say the least. although with Sirettis and her hexes I feel pretty safe.
GM Red
|
Maybe I overdid their entrance. I don't know how my Aspis are going to top that. I've got some work to do, hehe.
Bishop 'The Dark Augur'
|
ohh great Red is just ad libbing entrances. I'm going to have to dig deep now for the Aspis.
GM Red
|
The part about two rappeling down from the roof and two from the front door was from the PDF (randomly selected), I just made it more dramatic. ;)
GM Red
|
As I need to get some avatars setup and read some statboxes, I won't have another post up for a few hours.
Use this time to arrange your avatars as desired and add any other elements to the map that haven't already been added, such as the cage.
GM Red
|
Yep, human-sized would be 5x5.
I'm trying to get an idea of everyone's vertical position as well. I think Sirettis and Mr. Peppers climbed a crate, correct? Anyone else?
Bishop 'The Dark Augur'
|
We haven't laid things out yet don't start yet...have to head home wait until 7pm EDT at least hehe.
GM Red
|
Not a problem! I will wait.
@Hmm, got any waiting room/elevator lyrics? :)

Up, up, up - we -go.
Let's kick Aspis rear and give a show!
Up, up, up - we - go.
See 'em drop and laugh, ho-ho-ho!
Dwarfs, sea-kin, air-kin and human,
Shake your hips to the tune like a cuban!
The Aspis thugs will bite the dust.
Have some faith in us, have some trust.
Up, up, up - we - go.
Let's kick Aspis rear and give a show!
Up, up, up - we - go.
See 'em drop and laugh, ho-ho-ho!
A knife in the back, some sand to the head.
Before you know it, Aspis are dead!
A bolt to the groin, a hex for the brain.
Their reputation is gone down the drain!
Up, up, up - we -go.
Let's kick Aspis rear and give a show!
Up, up, up - we - go.
See 'em drop and laugh, ho-ho-ho!
Have no worry, have no fear.
Gnomes are cute, they bring you cheer.
Moreso than elves- no not those, i'm talking about those doing carpentry up north -they are your friend.
They'll be your team's mascot until the end.
