Seasonal's greetin's ta every ones! (^_^)

Seraph_ |

Merry Christmas everyone! Happy holidays!

Sunset, |

Season's greeting to every one.

Seraph_ |

So my post is odd for two reasons. One i am trying not to look at characters, so i dont make assumptions or act likw i know all about them. And two. Sunset and Justinian make Seraph nervous. Because she literally knows little about them. Haha. XD

Sunset, |

1) Lightning bottle combined with x-bow stock to make a 'Lightning-shotgun'.
30' range, 1D8 damage (Ref save(DC15)negate 1point sonic).
Single use on the bottle (Not sure about the value of returned empty's) Takes a full round to swap out one bottle for the next. Advantage? It looks cooler than swinging a flask of zappy stuff about.
2) Similar to above... just two bottles mounted on the same stock for 'double' barrels. Allowing for two shots or... how ever the Dm wants to work the result of pulling the one trigger on two bottles.
3) A further development. Repeating x-bow. Pathfinder pouch and ten lightning bottles.
The pouch acts as the 'magazine' the action of the repeating x-bow pulling the bottles out and onto the stock. Allows for ten shots (Capacity of pouch) to be had before 're-loading' is needed.
Individual equipment cost;
Crossbow, repeating: 200 Gp
Pathfinder pouch: 1000 Gp
Lightning bottle: 40 Gp
Being an alchemist Sunset should be able to build her own lightning bottles when her skill is high enough/other item creation gear is available (Cauldron of brewing, specialist gloves etc)
DM's and others thoughts and ideas welcome. :)

Thanks for being a full cleric Doran. That made this fight fairly easy haha. Now we just gotta beat this guy. XD

Yea being a full cleric does get rid of the riffraff undead.
Sunset, While a xbow lighting shotgun doesn't seem over powered. The Lightning bottle has a range of effect of 20ft, while the lighting shotgun has 30' range which puts it under the ranged increment rules Meaning you could fire a range touch attack at 300' at a -10. Granted that would be about the same damage as a light xbow but way more expensive. I would want to keep it limited to 30' max range.

Ah! Sorry! No, I've done two things wrong. ^^'
First: There's no change to the lightning bottle 'range'. It only goes as far as the rules say.
Second: I completely miss read the range and am happy for the 20' reach.
The big thing is the adding of the 'magazine' so that the reloading time for the most expensive version becomes quick and easy.
Of course, having town guard etc strolling about town with such items will be cool as well. ^_^
With folks ridin' 'Shot-gun' holdin' things like that? Why them bad guys'll be thinking twice a'fore they go an' tangle with one a our wagons, a-yup.
Also, YAY! Glad you're thinking positive about it. Some times DM's...?
They don't like players getting too 'Inventive'... ^^'

No worries. Although after that hit, I'm not feeling all that confident about 'just beating this guy'. :)

Loot
+2 Fey Bane Scimitar PASS on the scimitar. All your's Torod at least on my end, besides I have my big sword I am focused on. Would love to have bane on it haha.
Ring of Sustenance +1 Interest. But if someone legitmately wants it I don't mind passing. I love these for the character side of things, especially because it means we can have less people up at night on guard duty when a person only needs 2 hrs of sleep.
Broken Equipment Seraph is collecting some for Asta's Proof of Rulership display, however if there are any blades I don't mimd snagging some for Seraph to restore and display as well. More in character thing yadda yadda.
Justinian I had a post prepared before my laptop cratered so here we go again!
Yeah, haha, he was a major nuisance with energy drain. Yikes! Now we gotta get ya healed so it isn't permanent. :(
Update
So got my laptop up and running but now I have to redo all my hero lab characters because I was a knucklehead and din't back anything up. Whoops!
No big deal, just gonna take me awhile...

haha I bet Justinian. XD

Finally got stable internet. Lots of cold snaps up north -40 or lower temps making internet an issue.

Sunset, |

Egads! -40?! (O_o)
Where do you live? The North pole?
*Hugz*

Seraph_ |

I work just south of it actually. Near the arctic ocean. ;-)
Been a brutally cold hitch, a lot of -40 *F ambient but -73 - -85 wind chill days.

Sunset, |

(O_o)
The horror! The horror!
Been in 'snow' once in my life. Yah, left a mark, that did.

Seraph_ |

Lmao. Lived in it half of my life. Though much more often up here in the arctic.
But I work in this outrageous cold because of the oilfield money. Alaska's economy is taking a beating but Oil money flows for now. Running open cab cranes in the winter is not fun haha. XD

I still declare it's completely unnatural for water to ever stop moving.
Thinking warm thoughts for/to you.

After exploring this last hex with the turtle quest (see Campaign Info tab), I was thinking we should do more kingdom building.
You may want to start thinking about if and what kingdom position you want of offer Justinian Doran?
For the next round of building to stream line the process, I wanted to try letting each person choose a building to add to the kingdom and a hex if they what to expand the kingdom in size. This would replace the voting that we did last time. Effectively each PC would get to control the building process for one month each.
Note due to the where the Treasury is currently and the low kingdom income it may take more than one month to accumulate the Build points for each building.
Are you interested in trying that or should we continue voting each month?

Seraph_ |

I don't mind the voting, but we definitely need to start saving up haha.
Maybe we need some more economic building's.
Positions for Justinian... HmmmM~

Seraph_ |

What positions are left?
Consort Wait that is an alternate one, nvm.

Sunset, |

Sunset would be happy to raise a farm and set to work with crops and live stock. :)

Orly?
XD

Justinian Doran |

Personally, I've found that putting out a long term plan is better than choosing month to month. It's far too slow to try and work it out each month. 3 month, 5 month, whatever.
Second: econ, econ, econ. The whole kingdom comes crashing down if you can't fund what you want to do. RP and personalities have to be set aside until there is an established flow of BP. While it would be nice to have that temple for your god, you may just have to do with a small shrine (non-BP related) until the kingdom can afford it.
Royal Enforcer? The hand of white-hot Justice coming down!!! ;)

A few inexpensive suggestions to increase our Economy by building. First our numbers:
*Small Town (Population 2000)
*Economy 13, Loyalty 15, Stability 16
*Corruption 0, Crime 0, Law 0, Lore +1, Productivity +1 Society +2
*Marketplace: base value 500 gp; purchase limit 5000 gp; spellcasting 4th
Dance Hall- 4 bp, +1 Economy, +2 Loyalty, +1 Unrest; +1 Corruption, +1 Crime.
Library- 6 bp, +1 Economy, +1 Loyalty; +1 Lore; upgrades to academy.
Tannery- 6 bp, +1 Economy, +1 Stability; -1 Society.
Mill- 8 bp, +1 Economy, +1 Stability; +1 Productivity; with gm permission can be skinned as a windmill at same cost.
Shop- 8 bp, +1 Economy; +1 Productivity; upgrades to either a market or luxury store.
Exotic Artisan- 10 bp, +1 Economy, +1 Stability; gives 1 minor ring, wand, or wondrous item.
Stable- 10 bp, +1 Economy, +1 Loyalty; adds +500gp base value to settlement.
Tradeshop- 10 bp, +1 Economy, +1 Stability; +1 Productivity; adds +500gp base value to settlement
There is also the Inn (10bp) and the smithy (6bp), but we already have one of each. More would not hurt though.
We can start development on the hex with the Fangberry Thicket, which is worth 1 Economy in addition to decreasing consumption and other possible benefits. Then, in a few turns we will be able to begin working the gold mine and it will be worth some Economy and BPs.
Finally there is Taxation.
No Tax- +1 Loyalty (our current level)
Light Tax- +1 Economy, -1 Loyalty
Normal Tax- +2 Economy, -2 Loyalty

Sunset, |

I thought the Berry patch were some one else's?
Less'n ye be hintin' said parties should be addin' ta' tha' value of tha' place? (^_~)
Yah, as second tavern an' maybe a tanner.
By the by, what're tha' benefits of a storage house? Like a grain silo or really big, communal cry cellar an' such?
Hopin' every thing's going great fer every one. (^_^)

First I wish to restate my suggestions for integrating Justinian into the government.
Justinian can be the Royal Enforcer. A post he would inhabit with religious ferver. Kressel can be moved to Spymaster and Imiria, can be made the envoy to the mites. I think her personality and temperament could fit well with them.
I suggest we increase our taxes from None to Normal. We need the income and can absorb the hit to our popularity at this time.
I like the Exotic Artisan or the Library. Not only does the exotic artisan give Economy, it also allows us to begin dealing in magic items. The library is also great because not only does it mitigates the hit to loyalty we take from increasing our taxes, it also gives a bonus to our Lore score.

![]() |

We did have that discussion about the berry bushes a bit ago. The treaty gives them access to both the fangberries and the moon radishes, but neither of them are adjacent to their territory. They would have to go through one or two hexes of our kingdom to harvest either.
For game effect, I would think we would still claim and develop the hex as normal. Then the mechanical benefits we get is simply the representation of what we get out of the treaty.

Sunset, |

*Nods*
Aye, sounds like a right good plan there Dax. :)
We're only building one new place, right?
Yah, happy for the exotic place gettin' put up. (^_~)

Sunset, |

Hmmm... well, if'n t'is marriage people are speakin' of... I'll call 'Shotgun' on tha' Kobolds.
Am sure eventually some one'll run afoul of our Queen's hexier side an' end up bein' a different critter come tha' evenin' than whut they woke up as. XD
Second ones in can be havin' tha' mites. :P

Justinian Doran |

Wait, Herolab has a Kingdom builder? Where is that???
So, we are a 50-50 roll to make the Econ check. As I said before that is the critical roll for kingdom building. Next is Stability, finally Loyalty. The problem with Loyalty is that when you really really need, it's important.
My take on the next 3 months;
Month 1: raise taxes, build library, claim F8
Month 2: build shop, claim E9, road E9
Month 3: build tradeshop, claim D10, road D10
We may want to look at driving the kingdom up towards Oleg's with a thought building a settlement there. Connect with a road. The plains up there makes for good farmland to support a larger kingdom. The road from Greenhart to Olegstun(?) gives access to the South Ostland road as well.
