@Whispers: You overlooked my submission any word on Prof.Zadrol Taladia?

@Alex: No, he is on my sheet, I think the yesterday post monster ate it. :/ Ill go over it again, Just to be sure. Sorry, Alex. :)

Thanks however you can wait on that a bit. So post monster ate your post too? That's scary...

I'm currently working on a slight rebuild more dex focused and Tiefling instead of Elf.

@Jethnash Aessuashy: You are good to go. Jump on into the play thread if ya want.
@Alex: Yep, checked over him yesterday. You're good to go. :)

Since most of the traits I have found that I might like are Social & I already have one of those, I went for Armor Expert as my third, considering she did spend several years training in armor as part of her Paladin training.

edit: Also waves at Dr. Alderly & Rhia.

I'd like to add Cassandra for your consideration.

@Alex: Take your time, you have plenty :)
@Ysmerelda: Sounds logical. :)

I think I'll stick with Elf but move around some stats. Posted to the discussion thread as a Zadrol.

Hmm, since I also have the Additional Traits feat, I'm actually having a bit of difficulty with another trait ... I haven't taken any from the combat trait category, so maybe I'll go with the old standby of reactionary. Justified more because Alderly has training as a surgeon, with the requisite quick reflexes and steady hands ...

EDIT: Belay that. Going with the regional trait Arcane Graduate since the good doctor graduated from Sincomakti university.

Grand Lodge

I hope I am not too late. My post last night disappeared. I would really love to play this PBP. May I humbly present Zelda.

Fluff:
He never knew anyting but life on the streets. Never knew his parents, or a home. Never even knew his name. All he had was that lion-head ring with a name scratched inside Mitchell.

Orphaned and alone since before he could remember, "Fingers" survived. If that meant mucking out stalls, it paid for bread. If it meant rolling a drunken nobleman in any alleyway, it was less work and paid better.

Staying alive by begging, trickery, and outright stealing had become second nature to him. Eventually, his wily ways attracted the notice of the Cerulean Society, the Korovosan theives guild. Unable and unwilling to pay dues to the "higher ups" , Fingers was roughed up then thrown out of town upon threat of violence or imprisonment.

He caught on with a caravan to Sandpoint area, after stopping for a while in Magnimar, which he left under a cloud of suspicion when the caravan leader's treasure trove was burglarized.

He is irresolutely independent, and very suspicious and resentful of those in authority. His primary motivation is gold, gems, and jewels in that order, but he also has an itch to find out about his family ring and what might have been left behind. He is not a hero and will not go to serve Good, unless the pay is right. Neither will he serve Evil, it'd just bring down the Law that much faster.

So are most submissions so far trending toward a good or neutral party? I'm wondering because I'm about to start working on something for this game.

For your consideration, if I might sneak one in:

Ulvidanu "Vido" Laskev

History:

Ulvidanu's family, depending on the fortunes of the particular century, straddled the line between the lesser nobility and the higher gentry. The second son of the current patriarch, Ulvidanu left the family's comfortable estate in the Palatinates for the University at Liepstadt. He quickly found an aptitude for the arcane arts, as well as a passion for his land's dark history.

It was during his research into the early histories of the Palantine Eye that Ulvidanu and the Professor first came to each other's notice. Ulvidanu had completed the basics of his education and apprenticeship, and had settled into the sedentary, sheltered life of the academic, exchanging occasional letters with the Professor: He, warning the professor not to grow so wild as to be hunted when he came to town, the Professor's, warning him not to sit so still his waitcoats would burst...

Lorimor's missives, however, frequently contained more serious advice and warnings. After being badgered for over a year, Ulvidanu had finally added the cantrip "Disrupt Undead" to his daily regimen, and, mere days later, was instrumental in helping to put down a mass rising at a charnel house near the university. That was two years ago. Lorimor became a hero, an inspiration to the younger wizard. Based on his expereinces, he chose then an there to focus his arcane attentions on evocation and to prepare to go out into the nighted hearths of Ustalav...

Then came word of the Professor's death.

Appearance:

Ulvidanu is fairly short, slender (The unkind or uncouth would say scrawny) and a little fastidious about his appearance. He dresses as richly as possible, usually in a long green or royal coat, a dark waistcoat, piped trousers and long, turned-down boots. He carries a heavy, iron-cored, brass-knobbed cane (On the character sheet, it goes by 'club') of black walnut, and usually disdains the hats so popular in polite company. His dark brown hair, showing a little premature grey, is cropped shorter than fasionable, and his dark brown Varisian eyes have an academic's tendency to squint a bit. His manner tends to be slightly condescending and rambling when he is distracted, but he sets a great deal of stock in personal courtesy. Being from the Palatinates, he has less of an ingrained subservience to nobility than others might.
His recent awareness that there are still true horros in teh world might lead him to follow the lead of 'Men and Women of Action" with slightly exaggerated faith.

Are we by any chance still accepting submissions? I'm at work right now, so I can't do anything quite yet, but I should have something together in a few hours if you're still willing to consider.

Hi can I submit Jacintah Mystblame, a changling witch
Her information is on my profile. I am still working out the background, but she is paranoid about being hunted by her mother, and was saved from a lynch mob by professor Lorimar.

@Jacintah: From my calculations you have a 17 point buy. You have some extra points there. :)

Quick question: For the Tiefling race, are subraces allowed? Such as a Demon Blooded Tiefling?

Would you consider allowing skinwalkers?

They fit very nicely with carrion crown, especially the one I have in mind. A alchemist looking to unlock the latent beast inside. This is him, but he is currently written and built for a different PbP. His backstory would need to be edited, but at some point he was attacked by a werecreature and was infected for a short time. He was treated by Lorrimor, but it either awakened some latent bloodline in him or not all of the curse was excised, giving him the ability to partially shift. Since then, he has studied his condition and the magical creatures of the world, all the while learning better ways of bringing out the beast that boils in his blood.

Thanks, I'll look into it

not certain but my stats seem right
STR 11 - 1
DEX 12 -2
CON 12 -2
INT 17 -13
WIS 12 -2
CHA 10 -0

I than add on +2 DEX, +2 CHA and -2 CON for the race bonuses. But thanks for your post. rechecking is never a waste.

I know you said I was good to go, but I didn't see my character on the list.

Just making sure!

Everyone, after you finish your revisions, are welcome to have a drink on the spooky house over at the creepy creaking tavern :)

I actually apologize. I pasted from HeroLab. The character has the middle-aged template applied, so he suffered a -1 to all physical attributes and a +1 to all mental attributes. If this is a problem, I can draft a second character up to replace him.

Grimblade submitting Erik

Grand Lodge

Oops minor error. I don't get a +2 dex, I get +2 wis.

I would like to present Elsbeth Moonsliver!

This is my first time ever applying for an online game, so please let me know if there's anything I need to change at all! Thanks!

Grand Lodge

Due to the mass amount of others who've yet to play online , I'm withdrawing my submission so they stand a better chance.

Good luck folks.

This is Merck's submission, information in the profile.

I'll be submitting Faore for consideration. I figure another martial character wouldn't be objected to, and that she might be able to add an interesting mindset.

Not sure if a brief backstory is required or even wanted, BUUUT, if desired I have one in mind. Just lemme know, so I can throw it in. Or I can wait to see if accepted. Either or. Don't know what the GM prefers.

@Faore: Hint with double digit submissions a backstory is usually a good idea!

@Faore: Back story required.

Also, no drawbacks are allowed as per the first post Faore. Sorry to be a pain, but I'm just helping you out. :)

Ah. My apologies. I wanted to have the drawback just for the sake of it. I think drawbacks add nice RP qualities to a character, made them more real. You'll note that I didn't add another trait for it. But no issue removing it.

I agree, though you could always ask the GM. :)

I present Cheertah - Catfolk Inquisitor of Desna for consideration.

He traveled far to attend the late professor's funeral.

Backstory:
The lash of a whip. The scars still burned every morning she awoke, reminders of her beginning. She barely remembered her childhood before that. They'd been beaten out of her. Just the barest briefest sense of warmth. A parents embrace. And flowers. Cherry blossoms. Bright, blooming, surrounding her. That was I she could remember of her homeland to the west, across the great seas.

She was weak then. Fragile. Easily broken. Easily beaten. Perfect slave material. She didn't remember any faces. The girl was glad. They'd haunt her dreams if she did. All she remembered was the whip, the constant sense of dread, and the need to obey. She wasn't alive, then. Just surviving. Just breathing. Off from the Varisian Coast, across the Hold of Belkzen, and to Ustalav. That's where she'd been carted. Slave material to a wealthy lord. She was only nine, then. Three years of servitude had turned her into a frail being. Weak. Skitter. A hollow human being.

She was taken to a mansion, for an auction. The host was a wealthy man, middle-aged named Izak Seigoff. Her, and many other faceless slaves. People like her, or so she thought. They were less important than the ones who beat her. Just cattle, like herself. Barely worth more than a thought. The master of the house, the host of the auction, purchased her. At the time, she never thought it odd. She just accepted it. Her fate was out of her hands. Her life, directed by others. Crueler people. Stronger people. Powerful people. And her master was one of these people.

Yet even this beaten, near-lifeless, dismal girl could not help but horrified when she learned the man was a Vampire.

Even Tian Xia had creatures like him. Those who lived on the life force of others. Beings of the night, without beating hearts. And this Seigoff man was one of them. He regularly took mortal slaves, using them as entertainment, servants, and of course, as livestock. Yet through a twist of strange fortune, he found the good entertaining. Her exotic features appealed to him, and while he fed on her blood, the scars on her neck still visible to day, he always resisted draining her completely. A fate many a slave had. He'd teach her, educate her, quickly becoming his favorite. She began learning what it meant to have power.

And she learned to have it.

He'd teach her combat, training her to be more than a meek slave. To be more than cattle. Through a sadistic twist of irony, the man who fed on men gave her more than any mortal human beings had ever done. Her place beneath him was constant, yet she learned to understand it. To respect it. Power decided all. One's rank, one's place in the world. And the only way to gain mr ore was to take it. This was the law of nature, and the law of her world. So she'd kill. She'd kill those who disrespected her master. She killed those who disrespected her. And she'd kill because it may her feel good. At the age of fourteen, she was no longer the girl without purpose, the girl whose fate was completely out of her hands. Now, she only served one master.

And then, that master vanished.

His castle was left uncommanded, his servants and slaves forgotten. Izak Seigoff was gone, vanishing without a trace. For a time, she'd look for him. But then, quite simply, after being dependent on another's commands for more than half her life, she was alone. And she was her own master. For the next four years, she became a wandering warrior. A killer for hire, a bandit, a hunter- She did what served her, utilizing the skills given to her by the Vampire, slaying those who impeded her path without hesitation. In Ulastav, in the Riven Kingdoms, in Ulastav- she'd fight. The world was ruled by power. And she would prove her own.

Yet one incident two years ago marked her. A man, intelligent, capable, crafty. He was physically unimpressive, Lorrimor. She'd been paid to be a bodyguard for an expedition of his, out in some ancient digsite. Bandits had come upon them in the night. She'd not been surprised- To her, every man in the world was a potential threat. But there'd been too many, too many for her alone. She'd fall, stabbed in the side, crimson liquid coating her fingers. And then that bookish, enlightened man had stood between her in death.

Nothing like it had ever happened in her life time. No man had ever put their own on the line for hers. Her Master had saved her, mentally, from an eternal state of helplness and powerlessness. But that had been for his own amusement. No one in the world had ever physically shielded her from harm, had saved her life. And this man had. The job finished, she never even thanked him. It infuriated her. It frustrated her. It made her feel weak. The sense of obligation would piss her off for the next two years, fueling her need for more power, for more control over her life. She never wanted to be saved by another again. Yet even this disciplined, vicious, and hateful woman knew it.

She had to repay the debt.

And then it came. News that he'd died. News that she'd been in his will. The woman was flabbergasted. Even now, even in death could no longer reclaim peace...He'd give to her. She wanted to run. She even considered suicide from shame. But she knew that she could not ignore it. So she'd walk to his home, to his funeral. Not because she thought him deserving of the honor, of respect. But because she'd never be able to live with herself otherwise.

Hopefully not too cliche!

Alright guys, unless you have already expressed interest in making a character, or I have told you in a PM that you can make one, RECRUITMENT IS CLOSED! I did not expect so many good submissions! This is ridiculous guys, since when has the human race become this awesome! I will be taking a day or two to sift through the submissions and I will have a party group up then. After that, I will give you all time to make final changes and time for me to audit.

You can keep RPing in the discussion forum, I like it! And thank you Vanulf for the updated character submissions. I believe there are about 2 to 3 more people who meet the criteria mentioned above, so I will give them a day to get their submissions in. Thank you for all your interests and interesting characters!!

Let the creepshow commence!
